	열왕기하 5:1-6:23 엘리사는 하나님의 능력으로 여러 가지 기적들을 행했다. 아람의 군대 장관 나아만은 엘리사의 이적적인 방법에 순종함으로써 고침을 받았다. 사환 게하시는 탐욕에 빠져 엘리사가 거절한 나아만의 감사 예물을 취하려다가 하나님의 징벌로 문둥병에 걸렸다. 엘리사의 영력으로 인해 번번이 패배를 거듭했던 아람은 그를 체포하기 위해 도단 성을 포위했으나 하나님의 초자연적 역사로 또다시 패배하고 말았다.

	나아만의 문둥병 치유(5:1-5:27)

アラムの王の將軍ナアマンは，その主君に重んじられ，尊敬されていた．主がかつて彼によってアラムに勝利を得させられたからである．この人は勇士ではあったが，らい病にかかっていた．

アラムはかつて略奪に出たとき，イスラエルの地から，ひとりの若い娘を捕えて來ていた．彼女はナアマンの妻に仕えていたが，

その女主人に言った．「もし，ご主人さまがサマリヤにいる預言者のところに行かれたら，きっと，あの方がご主人さまのらい病を直してくださるでしょうに．」

それで，ナアマンはその主君のところに行き，イスラエルの地から來た娘がこれこれのことを言いました，と告げた．

アラムの王は言った．「行って來なさい．私がイスラエルの王にあてて手紙を送ろう．」そこで，ナアマンは銀十タラントと，金六千シェケルと，晴れ着十着とを持って出かけた．

Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

彼はイスラエルの王あての次のような手紙を持って行った．「さて，この手紙があなたに屆きましたら，實は家臣ナアマンをあなたのところに送りましたので，彼のらい病から彼をいやしてくださいますように．」

イスラエルの王はこの手紙を讀むと，自分の服を引き裂いて言った．「私は殺したり，生かしたりすることのできる神であろうか．この人はこの男を送って，らい病を直せと言う．しかし，考えてみなさい．彼は私に言いがかりをつけようとしているのだ．」

神の人エリシャは，イスラエルの王が服を引き裂いたことを聞くと，王のもとに人をやって言った．「あなたはどうして服を引き裂いたりなさるのですか．彼を私のところによこしてください．そうすれば，彼はイスラエルに預言者がいることを知るでしょう．」

こうして，ナアマンは馬と戰車をもって來て，エリシャの家の入口に立った．

エリシャは，彼に使いをやって，言った．「ヨルダン川へ行って七たびあなたの身を洗いなさい．そうすれば，あなたのからだが元どおりになってきよくなります．」

And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

しかしナアマンは怒って去り，そして言った．「何ということだ．私は彼がきっと出て來て，立ち，彼の神，主の名を呼んで，この患部の上で彼の手を動かし，このらい病を直してくれると思っていたのに．

ダマスコの川，アマナやパルパルは，イスラエルのすべての川にまさっているではないか．これらの川で洗って，私がきよくなれないのだろうか．」こうして，彼は怒って歸途についた．

そのとき，彼のしもべたちが近づいて彼に言った．「わが父よ．あの預言者が，もしも，むずかしいことをあなたに命じたとしたら，あなたはきっとそれをなさったのではありませんか．ただ，彼はあなたに『身を洗って，きよくなりなさい．』と言っただけではありませんか．」

そこで，ナアマンは下って行き，神の人の言ったとおりに，ヨルダン川に七たび身を浸した．すると彼のからだは元どおりになって，幼子のからだのようになり，きよくなった．

そこで，彼はその一行の者を全部連れて神の人のところに引き返し，彼の前に來て，立って言った．「私は今，イスラエルのほか，世界のどこにも神はおられないことを知りました．それで，どうか今，あなたのしもべからの贈り物を受け取ってください．」

But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.

神の人は言った．「私が仕えている主は生きておられる．私は決して受け取りません．」それでも，ナアマンは，受け取らせようとしきりに彼に勸めたが，彼は斷わった．

そこでナアマンは言った．「だめでしたら，どうか二頭の ¿馬に載せるだけの土をしもべに與えてください．しもべはこれからはもう，ほかの神¿に全燒のいけにえや，その他のいけにえをささげず，ただ主にのみささげますから．

主が次のことをしもべにお許しくださいますように．私の主君がリモンの神殿にはいって，そこで拜む場合，私の腕に寄りかかります．それで私もリモンの神殿で身をかがめます．私がリモンの神殿で身をかがめるとき，どうか，主がこのことをしもべにお許しくださいますように．」

エリシャは彼に言った．「安心して行きなさい．」そこでナアマンは彼から離れて，かなりの道のりを進んで行った．

そのとき，神の人エリシャに仕える若い者ゲハジはこう考えた．「なんとしたことか．私の主人は，あのアラム人ナアマンが持って來た物を受け取ろうとはしなかった．主は生きておられる．私は彼のあとを追いかけて行き，必ず何かをもらって來よう．」

But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.

In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.

And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.

But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him.

ゲハジはナアマンのあとを追って行った．ナアマンは，うしろから驅けて來る者を見つけると，戰車から下りて，彼を迎え，「何か變わったことでも．」と尋ねた．

そこで，ゲハジは言った．「變わったことはありませんが，私の主人は私にこう言ってよこしました．『たった今，エフライムの山地から，預言者のともがらのふたりの若い者が私のところにやって來ましたから，どうぞ，彼らに銀一タラントと，晴れ着二着をやってください．』」

するとナアマンは，「どうぞ．思い切って二タラントを取ってください．」と言って，しきりに勸め，二つの袋に入れた銀二タラントと，晴れ着二着を，自分のふたりの若い者に渡した．それで彼らはそれを背負ってゲハジの先に立って進んだ．

ゲハジは丘に着くと，それを彼らから受け取って家の中にしまい ¿み，ふたりの者を歸らせたので，彼らは去って行った．

彼が家にはいって主人の前に立つと，エリシャは彼に言った．「ゲハジ．あなたはどこへ行って來たのか．」彼は答えた．「しもべはどこへも行きませんでした．」

So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, Is all well?

And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.

And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.

And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed.

But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.

エリシャは彼に言った．「あの人があなたを迎えに戰車から降りて來たとき，私の心もあなたといっしょに行っていたではないか．今は銀を受け，着物を受け，オリ ― ブ畑やぶどう畑，羊や牛，男女の奴隷を受ける時だろうか．

ナアマンのらい病は，いつまでもあなたとあなたの子孫とにまといつく．」彼は，エリシャの前から，らい病にかかって雪のように白くなって，出て來た．

And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

	아람의 1차 침입(6:1-6:23)

預言者のともがらがエリシャに，「ご覽のとおり，私たちがあなたといっしょに住んでいるこの場所は狹くなりましたので，

ヨルダン川に行きましょう．そこからめいめい一本ずつ材木を切り出して，そこに，私たちの住む所を作りましょう．」と言うと，エリシャは，「行きなさい．」と言った．

すると，そのひとりが，「あなたもどうか，思い切ってしもべたちといっしょに行ってください．」と言ったので，エリシャは，「では，私も行こう．」と言って，

彼らといっしょに出かけた．彼らは，ヨルダン川に着くと，木を切り倒した．

ひとりが材木を倒しているとき，斧の頭を水の中に落としてしまった．彼は叫んで言った．「ああ，わが主．あれは借り物です．」

And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.

Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.

And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.

So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.

But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.

神の人は言った．「どこに落としたのか．」彼がその場所を示すと，エリシャは一本の枝を切って，そこに投げ ¿み，斧の頭を浮かばせた．

彼が，「それを拾い上げなさい．」と言ったので，その人は手を伸ばして，それを取り上げた．

アラムの王がイスラエルと戰っているとき，王は家來たちと相談して言った．「これこれの所に陣を敷こう．」

そのとき，神の人はイスラエルの王のもとに人をやって言った．「あの場所を通らないように注意しなさい．あそこにはアラムが下って來ますから．」

そこで，イスラエルの王は神の人が告げたその場所に人をやった．彼が王に警告すると，王はそこを警戒した．このようなことは一度や二度ではなかった．

And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.

Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

このことで，アラムの王の心は怒りに燃え，家來たちを呼んで言った．「われわれのうち，だれが，イスラエルの王と通じているのか，あなたがたは私に告げないのか．」

すると家來のひとりが言った．「いいえ，王さま．イスラエルにいる預言者エリシャが，あなたが寢室の中で語られることばまでもイスラエルの王に告げているのです．」

王は言った．「行って，彼がどこにいるかを突き止めなさい．人をやって，彼をつかまえよう．」そのうちに，「今，彼はドタンにいる．」という知らせが王にもたらされた．

そこで王は馬と戰車と大軍とをそこに送った．彼らは夜のうちに來て，その町を包圍した．

神の人の召使が，朝早く起きて，外に出ると，なんと，馬と戰車の軍隊がその町を包圍していた．若い者がエリシャに，「ああ，ご主人さま．どうしたらよいのでしょう．」と言った．

Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.

Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

すると彼は，「恐れるな．私たちとともにいる者は，彼らとともにいる者よりも多いのだから．」と言った．

そして，エリシャは祈って主に願った．「どうぞ，彼の目を開いて，見えるようにしてください．」主がその若い者の目を開かれたので，彼が見ると，なんと，火の馬と戰車がエリシャを取り卷いて山に滿ちていた．

アラムがエリシャに向かって下って來たとき，彼は主に祈って言った．「どうぞ，この民を打って，盲目にしてください．」そこで主はエリシャのことばのとおり，彼らを打って，盲目にされた．

エリシャは彼らに言った．「こちらの道でもない．あちらの町でもない．私について來なさい．あなたがたの搜している人のところへ連れて行ってやろう．」こうして，彼らをサマリヤへ連れて行った．

彼らがサマリヤに着くと，エリシャは言った．「主よ．この者たちの目を開いて，見えるようにしてください．」主が彼らの目を開かれたので，彼らが見ると，なんと，彼らはサマリヤの眞中に來ていた．

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.

And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

イスラエルの王は彼らを見て，エリシャに言った．「私が打ちましょうか．私が打ちましょうか．わが父よ．」

エリシャは言った．「打ってはなりません．あなたは自分の劍と弓でとりこにした者を打ち殺しますか．彼らにパンと水をあてがい，飮み食いさせて，彼らの主君のもとに行かせなさい．」

そこで，王は彼らのために盛大なもてなしをして，彼らに飮み食いをさせて後，彼らを歸した．こうして彼らは自分たちの主君のもとに戾って行った．それからはアラムの略奪隊は，二度とイスラエルの地に侵入して來なかった．

And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?

And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.

And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.
