- 人はみな， 上に 立つ 權威に 從うべきです． 神によらない 權威はなく， 存在している 權威はすべて， 神によって 立てられたものです．
- したがって， 權威に 逆らっている 人は， 神の 定めにそむいているのです． そむいた 人は 自分の 身にさばきを 招きます．
- 支配者を 恐ろしいと 思うのは， 良い 行ないをするときではなく， 惡を 行なうときです． 權威を 恐れたくないと 思うなら， 善を 行ないなさい． そうすれば， 支配者からほめられます．
- それは， 彼があなたに 益を 與えるための， 神のしもべだからです． しかし， もしあなたが 惡を 行なうなら， 恐れなければなりません． 彼は 無意味に 劍を 帶びてはいないからです． 彼は 神のしもべであって， 惡を 行なう 人には 怒りをもって 報います．
- ですから， ただ 怒りが 恐ろしいからだけでなく， 良心のためにも， 從うべきです．

- Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
- Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
- For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
- For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
- Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

- 同じ 理由で， あなたがたは， みつぎを 納めるのです． 彼らは， いつもその 務めに 勵んでいる 神のしもべなのです．
- あなたがたは， だれにでも 義務を 果たしなさい． みつぎを 納めなければならない 人にはみつぎを 納め， 稅を 納めなければならない 人には 稅を 納め， 恐れなければならない 人を 恐れ， 敬わなければならない 人を 敬いなさい．
- だれに 對しても， 何の 借りもあってはいけません． ただし， 互いに 愛し 合うことについては 別です． 他の 人を 愛する 者は， 律法を 完全に 守っているのです．
- 「姦淫するな， 殺すな， 盜むな， むさぼるな． 」という 戒め， またほかにどんな 戒めがあっても， それらは， 「あなたの 隣人をあなた 自身のように 愛せよ． 」ということばの 中に 要約されているからです．
- 愛は 隣人に 對して 害を 與えません． それゆえ， 愛は 律法を 全うします．

- For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
- Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
- Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
- For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

- あなたがたは， 今がどのような 時か 知っているのですから， このように 行ないなさい． あなたがたが 眠りからさめるべき 時刻がもう 來ています． というのは， 私たちが 信じたころよりも， 今は 救いが 私たちにもっと 近づいているからです．
- 夜はふけて， ¿が 近づきました． ですから， 私たちは， やみのわざを 打ち 捨てて， 光の 武具を 着けようではありませんか．
- 遊興， 杏按， 淫亂， 好色， 爭い， ねたみの 生活ではなく， ¿間らしい， 正しい 生き 方をしようではありませんか．
- 主 イエス · キリスト を 着なさい． 肉の 欲のために 心を 用いてはいけません．

- And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
- The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
- Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
- But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
