- さて， あなたがたの 手紙に 書いてあったことについてですが， 男が 女に 觸れないのは 良いことです．
- しかし， 不品行を 避けるため， 男はそれぞれ 自分の 妻を 持ち， 女もそれぞれ 自分の 夫を 持ちなさい．
- 夫は 自分の 妻に 對して 義務を 果たし， 同樣に 妻も 自分の 夫に 對して 義務を 果たしなさい．
- 妻は 自分のからだに 關する 權利を 持ってはおらず， それは 夫のものです． 同樣に 夫も 自分のからだについての 權利を 持ってはおらず， それは 妻のものです．
- 互いの 權利を 奪い 取ってはいけません． ただし， 祈りに 專心するために， 合意の 上でしばらく 離れていて， また 再びいっしょになるというのならかまいません． あなたがたが 自制力を 欠くとき， サタン の 誘惑にかからないためです．

- Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
- The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
- Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

- 以上， 私の 言うところは， 容認であって， 命令ではありません．

- But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
- For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
- I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
- But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
- And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

- ··もし 別れたのだったら， 結婚せずにいるか， それとも 夫と 和解するか， どちらかにしなさい． ··また 夫は 妻を 離別してはいけません．
- 次に， そのほかの 人¿に 言いますが， これを 言うのは 主ではなく， 私です． 信者の 男子に 信者でない 妻があり， その 妻がいっしょにいることを 承知している 場合は， 離婚してはいけません．
- また， 信者でない 夫を 持つ 女は， 夫がいっしょにいることを 承知しているばあいは， 離婚してはいけません．
- なぜなら， 信者でない 夫は 妻によって 聖められており， また， 信者でない 妻も 信者の 夫によって 聖められているからです． そうでなかったら， あなたがたの 子どもは 汚れているわけです． ところが， 現に 聖いのです．
- しかし， もし 信者でないほうの 者が 離れて 行くのであれば， 離れて 行かせなさい． そのようなばあいには， 信者である 夫あるいは 妻は， 縛られることはありません． 神は， 平和を 得させようとしてあなたがたを 召されたのです．

- But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
- But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
- And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
- For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
- But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

- なぜなら， 妻よ． あなたが 夫を 救えるかどうかが， どうしてわかりますか． また， 夫よ． あなたが 妻を 救えるかどうかが， どうしてわかりますか．
- ただ， おのおのが， 主からいただいた 分に 應じ， また 神がおのおのをお 召しになったときのままの 狀態で 步むべきです． 私は， すべての 敎會で， このように 指導しています．
- 召されたとき 割禮を 受けていたのなら， その 跡をなくしてはいけません． また， 召されたとき 割禮を 受けていなかったのなら， 割禮を 受けてはいけません．
- 割禮は 取るに 足らぬこと， 無割禮も 取るに 足らぬことです． 重要なのは 神の 命令を 守ることです．
- おのおの 自分が 召されたときの 狀態にとどまっていなさい．

- For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
- But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
- Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
- Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
- Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

- 奴隷の 狀態で 召されたのなら， それを 氣にしてはいけません． しかし， もし 自由の 身になれるなら， むしろ 自由になりなさい．
- 奴隷も， 主にあって 召された 者は， 主に 屬する 自由人であり， 同じように， 自由人も， 召された 者は キリスト に 屬する 奴隷だからです．
- あなたがたは， 代價をもって 買われたのです． 人間の 奴隷となってはいけません．
- 兄弟たち． おのおの 召されたときのままの 狀態で， 神の 御前にいなさい．

- Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
- For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.
- Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
- Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.
