- そこで 私は， 主にあって 言明し， おごそかに 勸めます． もはや， 異邦人がむなしい 心で 步んでいるように 步んではなりません．
- 彼らは， その 知性において 暗くなり， 彼らのうちにある 無知と， かたくなな 心とのゆえに， 神のいのちから 遠く 離れています．
- 道德的に 無感覺となった 彼らは， 好色に 身をゆだねて， あらゆる 不潔な 行ないをむさぼるようになっています．
- しかし， あなたがたは キリスト のことを， このようには 學びませんでした．
- ただし， ほんとうにあなたがたが キリスト に 聞き， キリスト にあって 敎えられているのならばです． まさしく 眞理は イエス にあるのですから．

- This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
- Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
- Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
- But ye have not so learned Christ;
- If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

- その 敎えとは， あなたがたの 以前の 生活について 言うならば， 人を 欺く 情欲によって 滅びて 行く 古い 人を 脫ぎ 捨てるべきこと，
- またあなたがたが 心の 靈において 新しくされ，
- 眞理に 基づく 義と 聖をもって 神にかたどり 造り 出された， 新しい 人を 身に 着るべきことでした．
- ですから， あなたがたは 僞りを 捨て， おのおの 隣人に 對して 眞實を 語りなさい． 私たちはからだの 一部分として 互いにそれぞれのものだからです．
- 怒っても， 罪を 犯してはなりません． 日が 暮れるまで 憤ったままでいてはいけません．

- That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
- And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
- And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
- Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

- 惡魔に 機會を 與えないようにしなさい．
- 盜みをしている 者は， もう 盜んではいけません． かえって， 困っている 人に 施しをするため， 自分の 手をもって 正しい 仕事をし， ほねおって ¿きなさい．
- 惡いことばを， いっさい 口から 出してはいけません． ただ， 必要なとき， 人の 德を 養うのに 役立つことばを 話し， 聞く 人に 惠みを 與えなさい．
- 神の 聖靈を 悲しませてはいけません． あなたがたは， ·いの 日のために， 聖靈によって 證印を 押されているのです．
- 無慈悲， 憤り， 怒り， 叫び， そしりなどを， いっさいの 惡意とともに， みな 捨て 去りなさい．

- Neither give place to the devil.
- Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
- Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
- And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
- Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

- お 互いに 親切にし， 心の 優しい 人となり， 神が キリスト においてあなたがたを 赦してくださったように， 互いに 赦し 合いなさい．

- And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
