	이사야 39:1-41:29 히스기야의 병이 회복되었다는 소식을 듣고 방문한 바벨론 사신들에게 히스기야는 무기고와 보물고를 보여 주는 교만을 보였다. 이에 이사야는 그 모든 보물을 바벨론에게 빼앗길 것이라고 예언하였다. 또한 하나님의 주권으로 이스라엘은 바벨론 포로 생활에서 해방될 것이라고 하였다.

	바벨론의 사자(39:1-39:8)

そのころ，バルアダンの子，バビロンの王メロダク · バルアダンは，使者を遣わし，手紙と贈り者をヒゼキヤに屆けた．彼が病氣だったが，元氣になった，ということを聞いたからである．

ヒゼキヤはそれらを喜び，寶庫，銀，金，香料，高價な油，いっさいの武器庫，彼の寶物倉にあるすべての物を彼らに見せた．ヒゼキヤがその家の中，および國中で，彼らに見せなかった物は一つもなかった．

そこで預言者イザヤが，ヒゼキヤ王のところに來て，彼に尋ねた．「あの人¿は何を言いましたか．どこから來たのですか．」ヒゼキヤは答えた．「遠い國，バビロンから，私のところに來たのです．」

イザヤはまた言った．「彼らは，あなたの家で何を見たのですか．」ヒゼキヤは答えた．「私の家の中のすべての物を見ました．私の寶物倉の中で彼らに見せなかった物は一つもありません．」

すると，イザヤはヒゼキヤに言った．「万軍の主のことばを聞きなさい．

At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.

And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.

Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:

見よ．あなたの家にある物，あなたの先祖たちが今日まで，たくわえてきた物がすべて，バビロンへ運び去られる日が來ている．何一つ殘されまい，と主は仰せられます．

また，あなたの生む，あなた自身の息子たちのうち，捕えられてバビロンの王の宮殿で宦官となる者があろう．」

ヒゼキヤはイザヤに言った．「あなたが告げてくれた主のことばはありがたい．」彼は，自分が生きている間は，平和で安全だろう，と思ったからである．

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

	이스라엘에 대한 하나님의 구원(40:1-41:29)

「慰めよ．慰めよ．わたしの民を．」とあなたがたの神は仰せられる．

「エルサレムに優しく語りかけよ．これに呼びかけよ．その勞苦は終わり，その咎は償われた．そのすべての罪に引き替え，二倍のものを主の手から受けたと．」

荒野に呼ばわる者の聲がする．「主の道を整えよ．荒地で，私たちの神のために，大路を平らにせよ．

すべての谷は埋め立てられ，すべての山や丘は低くなる．盛り上がった地は平地に，險しい地は平野となる．

このようにして，主の榮光が現わされると，すべての者が共にこれを見る．主の口が語られたからだ．」

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.

The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

「呼ばわれ．」と言う者の聲がする．私は，「何と呼ばわりましょう．」と答えた．「すべての人は草，その榮光は，みな野の花のようだ．

主のいぶきがその上に吹くと，草は枯れ，花はしぼむ．まことに，民は草だ．

草は枯れ，花はしぼむ．だが，私たちの神のことばは永遠に立つ．」

シオンに良い知らせを傳える者よ．高い山に登れ．エルサレムに良い知らせを傳える者よ．力の限り聲をあげよ．聲をあげよ．恐れるな．ユダの町¿に言え．「見よ．あなたがたの神を．」

見よ．神である主は力をもって來られ，その御腕で統べ治める．見よ．その報いは主とともにあり，その報酬は主の前にある．

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

主は羊飼いのように，その群れを飼い，御腕に子羊を引き寄せ，ふところに抱き，乳を飮ませる羊を優しく導く．

だれが，手のひらで水を量り，手の幅で天を推し量り，地のちりを ¿に盛り，山をてんびんで量り，丘をはかりで量ったのか．

だれが主の靈を推し量り，主の顧問として敎えたのか．

主はだれと相談して悟りを得られたのか．だれが公正の道筋を主に敎えて，知識を授け，英知の道を知らせたのか．

見よ．國¿は，手おけの一しずく，はかりの上のごみのようにみなされる．見よ．主は島¿を細かいちりのように取り上げる．

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

レバノンも，たきぎにするには，足りない，その ¿も，全燒のいけにえにするには，足りない．

すべての國¿も主の前では無いに等しく，主にとってはむなしく形もないものとみなされる．

あなたがたは，神をだれになぞらえ，神をどんな似姿に似せようとするのか．

鑄物師は偶像を鑄て造り，金細工人はそれに金をかぶせ，銀の鎖を作る．

貧しい者は，奉納物として，朽ちない木を選び，巧みな細工人を搜して，動かない偶像を据える．

And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.

All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.

To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.

He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.

あなたがたは知らないのか．聞かないのか．初めから，告げられなかったのか．地の基がどうして置かれたかを悟らなかったのか．

主は地をおおう天蓋の上に住まわれる．地の住民はいなごのようだ．主は天を薄絹のように延べ，これを天幕のように廣げて住まわれる．

君主たちを無に歸し，地のさばきつかさをむなしいものにされる．

彼らが，やっと植えられ，やっと蒔かれ，やっと地に根を張ろうとするとき，主はそれに風を吹きつけ，彼らは枯れる．暴風がそれを，わらのように散らす．

「それなのに，わたしを，だれになぞらえ，だれと比べようとするのか．」と聖なる方は仰せられる．

Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

目を高く上げて，だれがこれらを創造したかを見よ．この方は，その万象を數えて呼び出し，一つ一つ，その名をもって，呼ばれる．この方は精力に滿ち，その力は强い．一つももれるものはない．

ヤコブよ．なぜ言うのか．イスラエルよ．なぜ言い張るのか．「私の道は主に隱れ，私の正しい訴えは，私の神に見過ごしにされている．」と．

あなたは知らないのか．聞いていないのか．主は永遠の神，地の果てまで創造された方．疲れることなく，たゆむことなく，その英知は測り知れない．

疲れた者には力を與え，精力のない者には活氣をつける．

若者も疲れ，たゆみ，若い男もつまずき倒れる．

Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

しかし，主を待ち望む者は新しく力を得，鷲のように翼をかって上ることができる．走ってもたゆまず，步いても疲れない．

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

島¿よ．わたしの前で靜まれ．諸國の民よ．新しい力を得よ．近寄って，今，語れ．われわれは，こぞって，さばきの座に近づこう．

だれが，ひとりの者を東から起こし，彼の行く先¿で勝利を收めさせるのか．彼の前に國¿を渡し，王たちを踏みにじらせ，その劍で彼らをちりのようにし，その弓でわらのように吹き拂う．

彼は彼らを追い，まだ步いて行ったことのない道を安全に通って行く．

だれが，これを成し遂げたのか．初めから代¿の人¿に呼びかけた者ではないか．わたし，主こそ初めであり，また終わりとともにある．わたしがそれだ．

島¿は見て恐れた．地の果ては震えながら近づいて來た．

Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.

Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? he gave them as the dust to his sword, and as driven stubble to his bow.

He pursued them, and passed safely; even by the way that he had not gone with his feet.

Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.

The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

彼らは互いに助け合い，その兄弟に「强くあれ．」と言う．

鑄物師は金細工人を力づけ，金槌で打つ者は，鐵床をたたく者に，はんだづけについて「それで良い．」と言い，釘で打ちつけて動かないようにする．

しかし，わたしのしもべ，イスラエルよ．わたしが選んだヤコブ，わたしの友，アブラハムのすえよ．

わたしは，あなたを地の果てから連れ出し，地のはるかな所からあなたを呼び出して言った．「あなたは，わたしのしもべ．わたしはあなたを選んで，捨てなかった．」

恐れるな．わたしはあなたとともにいる．たじろぐな．わたしがあなたの神だから．わたしはあなたを强め，あなたを助け，わたしの義の右の手で，あなたを守る．

They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.

So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.

Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

見よ．あなたに向かっていきりたつ者はみな，恥を見，はずかしめを受け，あなたと爭う者たちは，無いもののようになって滅びる．

あなたと言い爭いをする者を搜しても，あなたは見つけることはできず，あなたと戰う者たちは，全くなくなってしまう．

あなたの神，主であるわたしが，あなたの右の手を堅く握り，「恐れるな．わたしがあなたを助ける．」と言っているのだから．

恐れるな．蟲けらのヤコブ，イスラエルの人¿．わたしはあなたを助ける． ··主の御告げ． ··あなたを ·う者はイスラエルの聖なる者．

見よ．わたしはあなたを銳い，新しいもろ刃の打穀機とする．あなたは，山¿を踏みつけて粉¿に ¿く．丘をもみがらのようにする．

Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.

あなたがそれをあおぐと，風が運び去り，暴風がそれをまき散らす．あなたは主によって喜び，イスラエルの聖なる者によって誇る．

惱んでいる者や貧しい者が水を求めても水はなく，その舌は渴きで干からびるが，わたし，主は，彼らに答え，イスラエルの神は，彼らを見捨てない．

わたしは，裸の丘に川を開き，平地に泉をわかせる．荒野を水のある澤とし，砂漠の地を水の源とする．

わたしは荒野の中に杉や，アカシヤ，ミルトス，オリ ― ブの木を植え，荒地にもみの木，すずかけ，檜も共に植える．

主の手がこのことをし，イスラエルの聖なる者がこれを創造したことを，彼らが見て知り，心に留めて，共に悟るためである．

Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:

That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

あなたがたの訴えを出せ，と主は仰せられる．あなたがたの證據を持って來い，とヤコブの王は仰せられる．

持って來て，後に起ころうとする事を告げよ．先にあった事は何であったのかを告げよ．そうすれば，われわれもそれに心を留め，また後の事どもを知ることができよう．または，來たるべき事をわたしたちに聞かせよ．

後に起ころうとする事を告げよ．そうすれば，われわれは，あなたがたが神であることを知ろう．良いことでも，惡いことでもしてみよ．そうすれば，われわれは共に見て驚こう．

見よ．あなたがたは無に等しい．あなたがたのわざはむなしい．あなたがたを選んだことは忌まわしい．

わたしが北から人を起こすと，彼は來て，日の出る所から，わたしの名を呼ぶ．彼は長官たちをしっくいのように踏む．陶器師が粘土を踏みつけるように．

Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.

Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.

だれか，初めから告げて，われわれにこのことを知るようにさせただろうか．だれか，あらかじめ，われわれに「それは正しい．」と言うようにさせただろうか．告げた者はひとりもなく，聞かせた者はひとりもなく，あなたがたの言うことを聞いた者もだれひとり，いなかった．

わたしが，最初にシオンに，「見よ．これを見よ．」と言い，わたしが，エルサレムに，良い知らせを傳える者を與えよう．

わたしが見回しても，だれもいない．彼らの中には，わたしが尋ねても返事のできる助言者もいない．

見よ．彼らはみな，僞りを言い，彼らのなす事はむなしい．彼らの鑄た像は風のように形もない．

Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.

The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.

For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.

Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.
