- 私たちの 救い 主なる 神と 私たちの 望みなる キリスト · イエス との 命令による， キリスト · イエス の 使徒 パウロ から，
- 信仰による 眞實のわが 子 テモテ へ． 父なる 神と 私たちの 主なる キリスト · イエス から， 惠みとあわれみと 平安とがありますように．
- 私が マケドニヤ に 出發するとき， あなたにお 願いしたように， あなたは， エペソ にずっととどまっていて， ある 人たちが 違った 敎えを 說いたり，
- 果てしのない 空想話と 系圖とに 心を 奪われたりしないように 命じてください． そのようなものは， 論議を 引き 起こすだけで， 信仰による 神の 救いのご 計畵の 實現をもたらすものではありません．
- この 命令は， きよい 心と 正しい 良心と 僞りのない 信仰とから 出て 來る 愛を， 目標としています．

- Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
- Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

- ある 人たちはこの 目當てを 見失い， わき 道にそれて 無益な 議論に 走り，
- 律法の 敎師でありたいと 望みながら， 自分の 言っていることも， また 强く 主張していることについても 理解していません．
- しかし 私たちは 知っています． 律法は， もし 次のことを 知っていて 正しく 用いるならば， 良いものです．
- すなわち， 律法は， 正しい 人のためにあるのではなく， 律法を 無視する 不從順な 者， 不敬 ·な 罪人， 汚らわしい 俗物， 父や 母を 殺す 者， 人を 殺す 者，
- 不品行な 者， 男色をする 者， 人を 誘拐する 者， うそをつく 者， 僞證をする 者などのため， またそのほか 健全な 敎えにそむく 事のためにあるのです．

- From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
- Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
- But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
- Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
- For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

- 祝福に 滿ちた 神の， 榮光の 福音によれば， こうなのであって， 私はその 福音をゆだねられたのです．
- 私は， 私を 强くしてくださる 私たちの 主 キリスト · イエス に 感謝をささげています． なぜなら， キリスト は， 私をこの 務めに 任命して， 私を 忠實な 者と 認めてくださったからです．
- 私は 以前は， 神をけがす 者， 迫害する 者， 暴力をふるう 者でした． それでも， 信じていないときに 知らないでしたことなので， あわれみを 受けたのです．
- 私たちの 主の， この 惠みは， キリスト · イエス にある 信仰と 愛とともに， ますます 滿ちあふれるようになりました．
- 「キリスト · イエス は， 罪人を 救うためにこの 世に 來られた． 」ということばは， まことであり， そのまま 受け 入れるに 値するものです． 私はその 罪人のかしらです．

- According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
- And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
- Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
- And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
- This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

- しかし， そのような 私があわれみを 受けたのは， イエス · キリスト が， 今後彼を 信じて 永遠のいのちを 得ようとしている 人¿の 見本にしようと， まず 私に 對してこの 上ない 寬容を 示してくださったからです．
- どうか， 世¿の 王， すなわち， 滅びることなく， 目に 見えない 唯一の 神に， 譽れと 榮えとが 世¿限りなくありますように． ア ― メン ．
- 私の 子 テモテ よ． 以前あなたについてなされた 預言に 從って， 私はあなたにこの 命令をゆだねます． それは， あなたがあの 預言によって， 信仰と 正しい 良心を 保ち， 勇敢に 戰い 拔くためです．
- ある 人たちは， 正しい 良心を 捨てて， 信仰の 破船に 會いました．
- その 中には， ヒメナオ と アレキサンデル がいます． 私は， 彼らを サタン に 引き 渡しました． それは， 神をけがしてはならないことを， 彼らに 學ばせるためです．

- Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
- Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
