	다니엘 3:1-4:18 느부갓네살 왕은 모든 백성에게 자신이 만든 금 신상에 절할 것을 반포하고, 이 명령에 불복종하는 사드락, 메삭, 아벳느고를 풀무불로 처형하라고 명하였다. 그러나 그들이 하나님의 능력으로 불 속에서 살아난 것을 보자 왕은 하나님을 찬양했으며 아무도 하나님을 모독하지 못하도록 조서를 내렸다. 왕은 두번째 꿈을 꾸고 다니엘에게 꿈 해석을 요청하였다.

	금신상과 풀무불(3:1-3:30)

ネブカデネザル王は金の像を造った．その高さは六十キュビト，その幅は六キュビトであった．彼はこれをバビロン州のドラの平野に立てた．

そして，ネブカデネザル王は人を遣わして，太守，長官，總督，參議官，財務官，司法官，保安官，および諸州のすべての高官を召集し，ネブカデネザル王が立てた像の奉獻式に出席させることにした．

そこで太守，長官，總督，參議官，財務官，司法官，保安官，および諸州のすべての高官は，ネブカデネザル王が立てた像の奉獻式に集まり，ネブカデネザルが立てた像の前に立った．

傳令官は大聲で叫んだ．「諸民，諸國，諸國語の者たちよ．あなたがたにこう命じられている．

あなたがたが角笛，二管の笛，立琴，三角琴，ハ ― プ，風笛，および，もろもろの樂器の音を聞くときは，ひれ伏して，ネブカデネザル王が立てた金の像を拜め．

Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,

That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:

ひれ伏して拜まない者はだれでも，ただちに火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿まれる．」

それで，民がみな，角笛，二管の笛，立琴，三角琴，ハ ― プ，および，もろもろの樂器の音を聞いたとき，諸民，諸國，諸國語の者たちは，ひれ伏して，ネブカデネザル王が立てた金の像を拜んだ．

こういうことがあったその時，あるカルデヤ人たちが進み出て，ユダヤ人たちを訴えた．

彼らはネブカデネザル王に告げて言った．「王よ．永遠に生きられますように．

王よ．あなたは，『角笛，二管の笛，立琴，三角琴，ハ ― プ，風笛，および，もろもろの樂器の音を聞く者は，すべてひれ伏して金の像を拜め．

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.

Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:

ひれ伏して拜まない者はだれでも，火の燃える爐の中へ投げ ¿め．』と命令されました．

ここに，あなたが任命してバビロン州の事務をつかさどらせたユダヤ人シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴがおります．王よ．この者たちはあなたを無視して，あなたの神¿に仕えず，あなたが立てた金の像を拜みもいたしません．」

そこでネブカデネザルは怒りたけり，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴを連れて來いと命じた．それでこの人たちは王の前に連れて來られた．

ネブカデネザルは彼らに言った．「シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴ．あなたがたは私の神¿に仕えず，また私が立てた金の像を拜みもしないというが，ほんとうか．

もしあなたがたが，角笛，二管の笛，立琴，三角琴，ハ ― プ，風笛，および，もろもろの樂器の音を聞くときに，ひれ伏して，私が造った像を拜むなら，それでよし．しかし，もし拜まないなら，あなたがたはただちに火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿まれる．どの神が，私の手からあなたがたを救い出せよう．」

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴはネブカデネザル王に言った．「私たちはこのことについて，あなたにお答えする必要はありません．

もし，そうなれば，私たちの仕える神は，火の燃える爐から私たちを救い出すことができます．王よ．神は私たちをあなたの手から救い出します．

しかし，もしそうでなくても，王よ，ご承知ください．私たちはあなたの神¿に仕えず，あなたが立てた金の像を拜むこともしません．」

すると，ネブカデネザルは怒りに滿ち，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴに對する顔つきが變わった．彼は爐を普通より七倍熱くせよと命じた．

また彼の軍隊の中の力强い者たちに，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴを縛って，火の燃える爐に投げ ¿めと命じた．

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

そこで，この人たちは，上着や下着やかぶり物の衣服を着たまま縛られて，火の燃える爐の中に投げ ¿まれた．

王の命令がきびしく，爐がはなはだ熱かったので，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴを連れて來た者たちは，その火炎に燒き殺された．

シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴの三人は，縛られたままで，火の燃える爐の中に落ち ¿んだ．

そのとき，ネブカデネザル王は驚き，急いで立ち上がり，その顧問たちに尋ねて言った．「私たちは三人の者を縛って火の中に投げ ¿んだのではなかったか．」彼らは王に答えて言った．「王さま．そのとおりでございます．」

すると王は言った．「だが，私には，火の中をなわを解かれて步いている四人の者が見える．しかも彼らは何の害も受けていない．第四の者の姿は神¿の子のようだ．」

Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.

He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

それから，ネブカデネザルは火の燃える爐の口に近づいて言った．「シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴ．いと高き神のしもべたち．すぐ出て來なさい．」そこで，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴは火の中から出て來た．

太守，長官，總督，王の顧問たちが集まり，この人たちを見たが，火は彼らのからだにはききめがなく，その頭の毛も焦げず，上着も以前と變わらず，火のにおいもしなかった．

ネブカデネザルは言った．「ほむべきかな，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴの神．神は御使いを送って，王の命令にそむき，自分たちのからだを差し出しても，神に信賴し，自分たちの神のほかはどんな神にも仕えず，また拜まないこのしもべたちを救われた．

それゆえ，私は命令する．諸民，諸國，諸國語の者のうち，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴの神を侮る者はだれでも，その手足は切り離され，その家をごみの山とさせる．このように救い出すことのできる神は，ほかにないからだ．」

それから王は，シャデラク，メシャク，アベデ · ネゴをバビロン州で榮えさせた．

Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

	느부갓네살의 두번째 꿈(4:1-4:18)

ネブカデネザル王が，全土に住むすべての諸民，諸國，諸國語の者たちに書き送る．あなたがたに平安が豊かにあるように．

いと高き神が私に行なわれたしるしと奇蹟とを知らせることは，私の喜びとするところである．

そのしるしのなんと偉大なことよ．その奇蹟のなんと力强いことよ．その國は永遠にわたる國，その主權は代¿限りなく續く．

私，ネブカデネザルが私の家で氣樂にしており，私の宮殿で榮えていたとき，

私は一つの夢を見たが，それが私を恐れさせた．私の寢床での樣¿な幻想と頭に浮かんだ幻が，私を脅かした．

Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

それで，私は命令を下し，バビロンの知者をことごとく私の前に連れて來させて，その夢の解き明かしをさせようとした．

そこで，呪法師，呪文師，カルデヤ人，星占いたちが來たとき，私は彼らにその夢を告げたが，彼らはその解き明かしを私に知らせることができなかった．

しかし最後に，ダニエルが私の前に來た． ··彼の名は私の神の名にちなんでベルテシャツァルと呼ばれ，彼には聖なる神の靈があった． ··私はその夢を彼に告げた．

「呪法師の長ベルテシャツァル．私は，聖なる神の靈があなたにあり，どんな秘密もあなたにはむずかしくないことを知っている．私の見た夢の幻はこうだ．その解き明かしをしてもらいたい．

私の寢床で頭に浮かんだ幻，私の見た幻はこうだ．見ると，地の中央に木があった．それは非常に高かった．

Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

その木は生長して强くなり，その高さは天に屆いて，地の果てのどこからもそれが見えた．

葉は美しく，實も豊かで，それにはすべてのものの食糧があった．その下では野の ¿がいこい，その枝には空の鳥が住み，すべての肉なるものはそれによって養われた．

私が見た幻，寢床で頭に浮かんだ幻の中に，見ると，ひとりの見張りの者，聖なる者が天から降りて來た．

彼は大聲で叫んで，こう言った．『その木を切り倒し，枝を切り拂え．その葉を振り落とし，實を投げ散らせ． ¿をその下から，鳥をその枝から追い拂え．

ただし，その根株を地に殘し，これに鐵と靑銅の鎖をかけて，野の若草の中に置き，天の露にぬれさせて，地の草を ¿と分け合うようにせよ．

The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

その心を，人間の心から變えて， ¿の心をそれに與え，七つの時をその上に過ごさせよ．

この宣言は見張りの者たちの布告によるもの，この決定は聖なる者たちの命令によるものだ．それは，いと高き方が人間の國を支配し，これをみこころにかなう者に與え，また人間の中の最もへりくだった者をその上に立てることを，生ける者が知るためである．』

私，ネブカデネザル王が見た夢とはこれだ．ベルテシャツァルよ．あなたはその解き明かしを述べよ．私の國の知者たちはだれも，その解き明かしを私に知らせることができない．しかし，あなたにはできる．あなたには，聖なる神の靈があるからだ．」

Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
