- 子どもたちよ． だれにも 惑わされてはいけません． 義を 行なう 者は， キリスト が 正しくあられるのと 同じように 正しいのです．
- 罪のうちを 步む 者は， 惡魔から 出た 者です． 惡魔は 初めから 罪を 犯しているからです． 神の 子が 現われたのは， 惡魔のしわざを 打ちこわすためです．
- だれでも 神から 生まれた 者は， 罪のうちを 步みません． なぜなら， 神の 種がその 人のうちにとどまっているからです． その 人は 神から 生まれたので， 罪のうちを 步むことができないのです．
- そのことによって， 神の 子どもと 惡魔の 子どもとの 區別がはっきりします． 義を 行なわない 者はだれも， 神から 出た 者ではありません． 兄弟を 愛さない 者もそうです．
- 互いに 愛し 合うべきであるということは， あなたがたが 初めから 聞いている 敎えです．

- Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
- He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
- Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
- In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
- For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

- カイン のようであってはいけません． 彼は 惡い 者から 出た 者で， 兄弟を 殺しました． なぜ 兄弟を 殺したのでしょう． 自分の 行ないは 惡く， 兄弟の 行ないは 正しかったからです．
- 兄弟たち． 世があなたがたを 憎んでも， 驚いてはいけません．
- 私たちは， 自分が 死からいのちに 移ったことを 知っています． それは， 兄弟を 愛しているからです． 愛さない 者は， 死のうちにとどまっているのです．
- 兄弟を 憎む 者はみな， 人殺しです． いうまでもなく， だれでも 人を 殺す 者のうちに， 永遠のいのちがとどまっていることはないのです．
- キリスト は， 私たちのために， ご 自分のいのちをお 捨てになりました． それによって 私たちに 愛がわかったのです． ですから 私たちは， 兄弟のために， いのちを 捨てるべきです．

- Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
- Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
- We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
- Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
- Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

- 世の 富を 持ちながら， 兄弟が 困っているのを 見ても， あわれみの 心を 閉ざすような 者に， どうして 神の 愛がとどまっているでしょう．
- 子どもたちよ． 私たちは， ことばや 口先だけで 愛することをせず， 行ないと 眞實をもって 愛そうではありませんか．
- それによって， 私たちは， 自分が 眞理に 屬するものであることを 知り， そして， 神の 御前に 心を 安らかにされるのです．
- たとい 自分の 心が 責めてもです． なぜなら， 神は 私たちの 心よりも 大きく， そして 何もかもご 存じだからです．
- 愛する 者たち． もし 自分の 心に 責められなければ， 大膽に 神の 御前に 出ることができ，

- But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
- My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
- And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
- For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
- Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

- また 求めるものは 何でも 神からいただくことができます． なぜなら， 私たちが 神の 命令を 守り， 神に 喜ばれることを 行なっているからです．
- 神の 命令とは， 私たちが 御子 イエス · キリスト の 御名を 信じ， キリスト が 命じられたとおりに， 私たちが 互いに 愛し 合うことです．
- 神の 命令を 守る 者は 神のうちにおり， 神もまたその 人のうちにおられます． 神が 私たちのうちにおられるということは， 神が 私たちに 與えてくださった 御靈によって 知るのです．

- And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
- And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
- And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
