- しもべをことばだけで 戒めることはできない． 彼はそれがわかっても， 反應がない．
- 輕率に 話をする 人を 見ただろう． 彼よりも 愚かな 者のほうが， まだ 望みがある．
- 自分のしもべを 幼い 時から 甘やかすと， ついには 彼は 手におえない 者になる．
- 怒る 者は 爭いを 引き 起こし， 憤る 者は 多くのそむきの 罪を 犯す．
- 人の 高ぶりはその 人を 低くし， 心の 低い 人は 譽れをつかむ．

- A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
- Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
- He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
- An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
