- 自分の 父をあざけり， 母への 從順をさげすむ 目は， 谷の 烏にえぐりとられ， わしの 子に 食われる．
- 私にとって 不思議なことが 三つある． いや， 四つあって， 私はそれを 知らない．
- 天にあるわしの 道， 岩の 上にある 蛇の 道， 海の 眞中にある 舟の 道， おとめへの 男の 道．
- 姦通する 女の 道もそのとおり． 彼女は 食べて 口をぬぐい， 「私は 不法を 行なわなかった． 」と 言う．
- この 地は 三つのことによって 震える． いや， 四つのことによって 耐えられない．

- The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
- There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:
- The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.
