- すると， ひとりの 人が イエス のもとに 來て 言った． 「先生． 永遠のいのちを 得るためには， どんな 良いことをしたらよいのでしょうか． 」
- イエス は 彼に 言われた． 「なぜ， 良いことについて， わたしに 尋ねるのですか． 良い 方は， ひとりだけです． もし， いのちにはいりたいと 思うなら， 戒めを 守りなさい． 」
- 彼は「どの 戒めですか． 」と 言った． そこで， イエス は 言われた． 「殺してはならない． 姦淫してはならない． 盜んではならない． 僞證をしてはならない．
- 父と 母を 敬え． あなたの 隣人をあなた 自身のように 愛せよ． 」
- この 靑年は イエス に 言った． 「そのようなことはみな， 守っております． 何がまだ 欠けているのでしょうか． 」

- And someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?"
- And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
- Then he said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;
- HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
- The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"

- イエス は， 彼に 言われた． 「もし， あなたが 完全になりたいなら， 歸って， あなたの 持ち 物を 賣り 拂って 貧しい 人たちに 與えなさい． そうすれば， あなたは 天に 寶を 積むことになります． そのうえで， わたしについて 來なさい． 」
- ところが， 靑年はこのことばを 聞くと， 悲しんで 去って 行った． この 人は 多くの 財産を 持っていたからである．
- それから， イエス は 弟子たちに 言われた． 「まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． 金持ちが 天の 御國にはいるのはむずかしいことです．
- まことに， あなたがたにもう 一度， 告げます． 金持ちが 神の 國にはいるよりは， らくだが 針の 穴を 通るほうがもっとやさしい． 」
- 弟子たちは， これを 聞くと， たいへん 驚いて 言った． 「それでは， だれが 救われることができるのでしょう． 」

- Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
- But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
- And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
- "Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
- When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?"

- イエス は 彼らをじっと 見て 言われた． 「それは 人にはできないことです． しかし， 神にはどんなことでもできます． 」

- And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
