사도행전 21:37-22:21

 천부장으로부터 변론의 기회를 얻은 바울은 자신을 핍박하는 유대 군중들을 향해, 다메섹 도상에서 체험한 자신의 엄청난 회심 사건을 증거하면서 이방 선교와 이방인의 사도로서의 정당성을 변증하였다.
  
  바울의 변론(21:37-22:21)    
 
  1. 兵營の 中に 連れ ¿まれようとしたとき， パウロ が 千人隊長に， 「一言お 話ししてもよいでしょうか． 」と 尋ねると， 千人隊長は， 「あなたは ギリシヤ 語を 知っているのか．
  2. するとあなたは， 以前暴動を 起こして， 四千人の 刺客を 荒野に 引き 連れて 逃げた， あの エジプト 人ではないのか． 」と 言った．
  3. パウロ は 答えた． 「私は キリキヤ の タルソ 出身の ユダヤ 人で， れっきとした 町の 市民です． お 願いです． この 人¿に 話をさせてください． 」
  4. 千人隊長がそれを 許したので， パウロ は 階段の 上に 立ち， 民衆に 向かって 手を 振った． そして， すっかり 靜かになったとき， 彼は ヘブル 語で 次のように 話した．
  1. As Paul was about to be brought into the barracks, he said to the commander, "May I say something to you?" And he said, "Do you know Greek?
  2. "Then you are not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?"
  3. But Paul said, "I am a Jew of Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no insignificant city; and I beg you, allow me to speak to the people."
  4. When he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the stairs, motioned to the people with his hand; and when there was a great hush, he spoke to them in the Hebrew dialect, saying,
 
 
  1. 「兄弟たち， 父たちよ． いま 私が 皆さんにしようとする 弁明を 聞いてください． 」
  2. パウロ が ヘブル 語で 語りかけるのを 聞いて， 人¿はますます 靜¿になった． そこで パウロ は 話し 續けた．
  3. 「私は キリキヤ の タルソ で 生まれた ユダヤ 人ですが， この 町で 育てられ， ガマリエル のもとで 私たちの 先祖の 律法について 嚴格な 敎育を 受け， 今日の 皆さんと 同じように， 神に 對して 熱心な 者でした．
  4. 私はこの 道を 迫害し， 男も 女も 縛って 牢に 投じ， 死にまでも 至らせたのです．
  5. このことは， 大祭司も， 長老たちの 全議會も 證言してくれます． この 人たちから， 私は 兄弟たちへあてた 手紙までも 受け 取り， ダマスコ へ 向かって 出發しました． そこにいる 者たちを 縛り 上げ， エルサレム に 連れて 來て 處罰するためでした．
  1. "Brethren and fathers, hear my defense which I now offer to you."
  2. And when they heard that he was addressing them in the Hebrew dialect, they became even more quiet; and he said,
  3. "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today.
  4. "I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and putting both men and women into prisons,
  5. as also the high priest and all the Council of the elders can testify From them I also received letters to the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to Jerusalem as prisoners to be punished.
  1. ところが， 旅を 續けて， 眞¿ごろ ダマスコ に 近づいたとき， 突然， 天からまばゆい 光が 私の 回りを 照らしたのです．
  2. 私は 地に 倒れ， 『サウロ ， サウロ ． なぜわたしを 迫害するのか． 』という 聲を 聞きました．
  3. そこで 私が 答えて， 『主よ． あなたはどなたですか． 』と 言うと， その 方は， 『わたしは， あなたが 迫害している ナザレ の イエス だ． 』と 言われました．
  4. 私といっしょにいた 者たちは， その 光は 見たのですが， 私に 語っている 方の 聲は 聞き 分けられませんでした．
  5. 私が， 『主よ． 私はどうしたらよいのでしょうか． 』と 尋ねると， 主は 私に， 『起きて， ダマスコ に 行きなさい． あなたがするように 決められていることはみな， そこで 告げられる． 』と 言われました．
  1. "But it happened that as I was on my way, approaching Damascus about noontime, a very bright light suddenly flashed from heaven all around me,
  2. and I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?'
  3. "And I answered, 'Who are You, Lord?' And He said to me, 'I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.'
  4. "And those who were with me saw the light, to be sure, but did not understand the voice of the One who was speaking to me.
  5. "And I said, 'What shall I do, Lord?' And the Lord said to me, 'Get up and go on into Damascus, and there you will be told of all that has been appointed for you to do.'
  1. ところが， その 光の 輝きのために， 私の 目は 何も 見えなかったので， いっしょにいた 者たちに 手を 引かれて ダマスコ にはいりました．
  2. すると， 律法を 重んじる 敬 ·な 人で， そこに 住む ユダヤ 人全體の 間で 評判の 良い アナニヤ という 人が，
  3. 私のところに 來て， そばに 立ち， 『兄弟 サウロ ． 見えるようになりなさい． 』と 言いました． すると， そのとき， 私はその 人が 見えるようになりました．
  4. 彼はこう 言いました． 『私たちの 先祖の 神は， あなたにみこころを 知らせ， 義なる 方を 見させ， その 方の 口から 御聲を 聞かせようとお 定めになったのです．
  5. あなたはその 方のために， すべての 人に 對して， あなたの 見たこと， 聞いたことの 證人とされるのですから．
  1. "But since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me and came into Damascus.
  2. "A certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law, and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there,
  3. came to me, and standing near said to me, 'Brother Saul, receive your sight!' And at that very time I looked up at him.
  4. "And he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an utterance from His mouth.
  5. 'For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard.
  1. さあ， なぜためらっているのですか． 立ちなさい． その 御名を 呼んで バプテスマ を 受け， 自分の 罪を 洗い 流しなさい． 』
  2. こうして 私が エルサレム に 歸り， 宮で 祈っていますと， 夢ごこちになり，
  3. 主を 見たのです． 主は 言われました． 『急いで， 早く エルサレム を 離れなさい． 人¿がわたしについてのあなたのあかしを 受け 入れないからです． 』
  4. そこで 私は 答えました． 『主よ． 私がどの 會堂ででも， あなたの 信者を 牢に 入れたり， むち 打ったりしていたことを， 彼らはよく 知っています．
  5. また， あなたの 證人 ステパノ の 血が 流されたとき， 私もその 場にいて， それに 贊成し， 彼を 殺した 者たちの 着物の 番をしていたのです． 』
  1. 'Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.'
  2. "It happened when I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, that I fell into a trance,
  3. and I saw Him saying to me, 'Make haste, and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about Me.'
  4. "And I said, 'Lord, they themselves understand that in one synagogue after another I used to imprison and beat those who believed in You.
  5. 'And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I also was standing by approving, and watching out for the coats of those who were slaying him.'
  1. すると， 主は 私に， 『行きなさい． わたしはあなたを 遠く， 異邦人に 遣わす． 』と 言われました． 」
  1. "And He said to me, 'Go! For I will send you far away to the Gentiles.'"
