야고보서 2:14-3:18

 야고보는 믿음이란 생활 속에서 실천하는 것이므로 행함은 믿음의 열매와 같다고 지적하였고, 혀를 잘 다스리는 자가 온전한 자라고 말하였으며, 하나님의 선물인 참지혜는 선하고 온전하다고 가르쳤다.
  
  믿음과 실천(2:14-2:26)    
 
  1. 私の 兄弟たち． だれかが 自分には 信仰があると 言っても， その 人に 行ないがないなら， 何の 役に 立ちましょう． そのような 信仰がその 人を 救うことができるでしょうか．
  2. もし， 兄弟また 姉妹のだれかが， 着る 物がなく， また， 每日の 食べ 物にもこと 欠いているようなときに，
  3. あなたがたのうちだれかが， その 人たちに， 「安心して 行きなさい． 暖かになり， 十分に 食べなさい． 」と 言っても， もしからだに 必要な 物を 與えないなら， 何の 役に 立つでしょう．
  4. それと 同じように， 信仰も， もし 行ないがなかったなら， それだけでは， 死んだものです．
  5. さらに， こう 言う 人もあるでしょう． 「あなたは 信仰を 持っているが， 私は 行ないを 持っています． 行ないのないあなたの 信仰を， 私に 見せてください． 私は， 行ないによって， 私の 信仰をあなたに 見せてあげます． 」
  1. What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him?
  2. If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,
  3. and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?
  4. Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
  5. But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works."
  1. あなたは， 神はおひとりだと 信じています． りっぱなことです． ですが， 惡靈どももそう 信じて， 身震いしています．
  2. ああ 愚かな 人よ． あなたは 行ないのない 信仰がむなしいことを 知りたいと 思いますか．
  3. 私たちの 父 アブラハム は， その 子 イサク を 祭壇にささげたとき， 行ないによって 義と 認められたではありませんか．
  4. あなたの 見ているとおり， 彼の 信仰は 彼の 行ないとともに ¿いたのであり， 信仰は 行ないによって 全うされ，
  5. そして， 「アブラハム は 神を 信じ， その 信仰が 彼の 義とみなされた． 」という 聖書のことばが 實現し， 彼は 神の 友と 呼ばれたのです．
  1. You believe that God is one You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
  2. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?
  3. Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
  4. You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;
  5. and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called the friend of God.
  1. 人は 行ないによって 義と 認められるのであって， 信仰だけによるのではないことがわかるでしょう．
  2. 同樣に， 遊女 ラハブ も， 使者たちを 招き 入れ， 別の 道から 送り 出したため， その 行ないによって 義と 認められたではありませんか．
  3. たましいを 離れたからだが， 死んだものであるのと 同樣に， 行ないのない 信仰は， 死んでいるのです．
  1. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
  2. In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way?
  3. For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
 
  혀의 위험성(3:1-3:12)    
 
  1. 私の 兄弟たち． 多くの 者が 敎師になってはいけません． ご 承知のように， 私たち 敎師は， 格別きびしいさばきを 受けるのです．
  2. 私たちはみな， 多くの 点で 失敗をするものです． もし， ことばで 失敗をしない 人がいたら， その 人は， からだ 全體もりっぱに 制御できる 完全な 人です．
  3. 馬を 御するために， くつわをその 口にかけると， 馬のからだ 全體を 引き 回すことができます．
  4. また， 船を 見なさい． あのように 大きな 物が， 强い 風に 押されているときでも， ごく 小さなかじによって， かじを 取る 人の 思いどおりの 所へ 持って 行かれるのです．
  5. 同樣に， 舌も 小さな 器官ですが， 大きなことを 言って 誇るのです． ご 覽なさい． あのように 小さい 火があのような 大きい 森を 燃やします．
  1. Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.
  2. For we all stumble in many ways If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.
  3. Now if we put the bits into the horses' mouths so that they will obey us, we direct their entire body as well.
  4. Look at the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by strong winds, are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the inclination of the pilot desires.
  5. So also the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire!
  1. 舌は 火であり， 不義の 世界です． 舌は 私たちの 器官の 一つですが， からだ 全體を 汚し， 人生の 車輪を 燒き， そして ゲ へ ナ の 火によって 燒かれます．
  2. どのような 種類の ¿も 鳥も， はうものも 海の 生き 物も， 人類によって 制せられるし， すでに 制せられています．
  3. しかし， 舌を 制御することは， だれにもできません． それは 少しもじっとしていない 惡であり， 死の 毒に 滿ちています．
  4. 私たちは， 舌をもって， 主であり 父である 方をほめたたえ， 同じ 舌をもって， 神にかたどって 造られた 人をのろいます．
  5. 贊美とのろいが 同じ 口から 出て 來るのです． 私の 兄弟たち． このようなことは， あってはなりません．
  1. And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.
  2. For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race.
  3. But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison.
  4. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God;
  5. from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.
  1. 泉が 甘い 水と 苦い 水を 同じ 穴からわき 上がらせるというようなことがあるでしょうか．
  2. 私の 兄弟たち． いちじくの 木が オリ ― ブ の 實をならせたり， ぶどうの 木がいちじくの 實をならせたりするようなことは， できることでしょうか． 鹽水が 甘い 水を 出すこともできないことです．
  1. Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water?
  2. Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh.
 
  참된 지혜(3:13-3:18)    
 
  1. あなたがたのうちで， 知惠のある， 賢い 人はだれでしょうか． その 人は， その 知惠にふさわしい 柔和な 行ないを， 良い 生き 方によって 示しなさい．
  2. しかし， もしあなたがたの 心の 中に， 苦いねたみと 敵對心があるならば， 誇ってはいけません． 眞理に 逆らって 僞ることになります．
  3. そのような 知惠は， 上から 來たものではなく， 地に 屬し， 肉に 屬し， 惡靈に 屬するものです．
  4. ねたみや 敵對心のあるところには， 秩序の 亂れや， あらゆる 邪惡な 行ないがあるからです．
  5. しかし， 上からの 知惠は， 第一に 純眞であり， 次に 平和， 寬容， 溫順であり， また， あわれみと 良い 實とに 滿ち， えこひいきがなく， 見せかけのないものです．
  1. Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
  2. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
  3. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.
  4. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
  5. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
  1. 義の 實を 結ばせる 種は， 平和をつくる 人によって 平和のうちに 蒔かれます．
  1. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
