	열왕기상 16:1-17:24 죄악을 답습하던 바아사는 하나님의 심판을 받았다. 이어 엘라로부터 아합에 이르는 북이스라엘의 왕들도 하나님 앞에 악을 행하여 하나님의 징계를 받았다. 선지자 엘리야는 바알을 숭배하고 악정을 행하던 아합에게 하나님의 재앙으로 가뭄이 있을 것을 선포했다. 아합의 위협을 피해 사르밧으로 피신한 엘리야는 자신을 공궤하던 한 과부의 아들을 살리는 이적을 행하였다.

	엘라, 시므리, 오므리, 아합의 통치(16:1-16:34)

Now the word of the LORD came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

"Inasmuch as I exalted you from the dust and made you leader over My people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have made My people Israel sin, provoking Me to anger with their sins,

behold, I will consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

"Anyone of Baasha who dies in the city the dogs will eat, and anyone of his who dies in the field the birds of the heavens will eat."

Now the rest of the acts of Baasha and what he did and his might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

여호와의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 예후에게 임하여 바아사를 꾸짖어 가라사대

내가 너를 진토에서 들어 나의 백성 이스라엘 위에 주권자가 되게 하였거늘 네가 여로보암의 길로 행하며 내 백성 이스라엘로 범죄케 하여 저희 죄로 나의 노를 격동하였은즉

내가 너 바아사와 네 집을 쓸어버려 네 집으로 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집 같이 되게 하리니

바아사에게 속한 자가 성읍에서 죽은즉 개가 먹고 들에서 죽은즉 공중의 새가 먹으리라 하셨더라

바아사의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일과 권세는 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

And Baasha slept with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah, and Elah his son became king in his place.

Moreover, the word of the LORD through the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani also came against Baasha and his household, both because of all the evil which he did in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck it.

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha became king over Israel at Tirzah, and reigned two years.

His servant Zimri, commander of half his chariots, conspired against him Now he was at Tirzah drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household at Tirzah.

Then Zimri went in and struck him and put him to death in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and became king in his place.

바아사가 그 열조와 함께 자매 디르사에 장사되고 그 아들 엘라가 대신하여 왕이 되니라

여호와의 말씀이 하나니의 아들 선지자 예후에게 임하사 바아사와 그 집을 꾸짖으심은 저가 여로보암의 집을 본받아 여호와 보시기에 모든 악을 행하며 그 손의 소위로 여호와의 노를 격동하였음이며 또 그 집을 쳤음이더라

유다 왕 아사 제 이십 륙년에 바아사의 아들 엘라가 디르사에서 이스라엘 왕이 되어 이년을 위에 있으니라

엘라가 디르사에 있어 궁내대신 아르사의 집에서 마시고 취할 때에 그 신복 곧 병거 절반을 통솔한 장관 시므리가 왕을 모반하여

들어가서 저를 쳐 죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되니 곧 유다 왕 아사 제 이십 칠년이라

It came about when he became king, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he killed all the household of Baasha; he did not leave a single male, neither of his relatives nor of his friends.

Thus Zimri destroyed all the household of Baasha, according to the word of the LORD, which He spoke against Baasha through Jehu the prophet,

for all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and which they made Israel sin, provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their idols.

Now the rest of the acts of Elah and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days at Tirzah. Now the people were camped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

시므리가 왕이 되어 그 위에 오를 때에 바아사의 온 집을 죽이되 남자는 그 족속이든지 그 친구든지 하나도 남기지 아니하고

바아사의 온 집을 멸하였는데 여호와께서 선지자 예후로 바아사를 꾸짖어 하신 말씀 같이 되었으니

이는 바아사의 모든 죄와 그 아들 엘라의 죄를 인함이라 저희가 범죄하고 또 이스라엘로 범죄케 하여 그 헛된것으로 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발하였더라

엘라의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

유다 왕 아사 제 이십 칠년에 시므리가 디르사에서 칠일 동안 왕이 되니라 때에 백성들이 블레셋 사람에게 속한 깁브돈을 향하여 진을 치고 있더니

The people who were camped heard it said, "Zimri has conspired and has also struck down the king." Therefore all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

Then Omri and all Israel with him went up from Gibbethon and besieged Tirzah.

When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the citadel of the king's house and burned the king's house over him with fire, and died,

because of his sins which he sinned, doing evil in the sight of the LORD, walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, making Israel sin.

Now the rest of the acts of Zimri and his conspiracy which he carried out, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

진중 백성들이 시므리가 모반하여 왕을 죽였다는 말을 들은지라 그 날에 이스라엘의 무리가 진에서 군대장관 오므리로 이스라엘 왕을 삼으매

오므리가 이에 이스라엘 무리를 거느리고 깁브돈에서부터 올라와서 디르사를 에워 쌌더라

시므리가 성이 함락됨을 보고 왕궁 위소에 들어가서 왕궁에 불을 놓고 그 가운데서 죽었으니

이는 저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하여 범죄함을 인함이라 저가 여로보암의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 죄를 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하였더라

시므리의 남은 행위와 그 모반한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; the other half followed Omri.

But the people who followed Omri prevailed over the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. And Tibni died and Omri became king.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel and reigned twelve years; he reigned six years at Tirzah.

He bought the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and named the city which he built Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.

Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, and acted more wickedly than all who were before him.

그 때에 이스라엘 백성이 둘에 나뉘어 그 절반은 기낫의 아들 디브니를 좇아 저로 왕을 삼으려하고 그 절반은 오므리를 좇았더니

오므리를 좇은 백성이 기낫의 아들 디브니를 좇은 백성을 이긴지라 디브니가 죽으매 오므리가 왕이 되니라

유다 왕 아사 제 삼십 일년에 오므리가 이스라엘 왕이 되어 십 이년을 위에 있으며 디르사에서 육년 동안 치리하니라

저가 은 두 달란트로 세멜에게서 사마리아산을 사고 그 산 위에 성을 건축하고 그 건축한 성 이름을 그 산 주인이 되었던 세멜의 이름을 좇아 사마리아라 일컬었더라

오므리가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 전의 모든 사람보다 더욱 악하게 행하여

For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and in his sins which he made Israel sin, provoking the LORD God of Israel with their idols.

Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did and his might which he showed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

So Omri slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son became king in his place.

Now Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD more than all who were before him.

느밧의 아들 여로보암의 모든 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 죄를 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하여 그 헛된 것으로 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발케 하였더라

오므리의 행한 그 남은 사적과 그 베푼 권세가 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

오므리가 그 열조와 함께 자매 사마리아에 장사되고 그 아들 아합이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

유다 왕 아사 제 삼십 팔년에 오므리의 아들 아합이 이스라엘 왕이 되니라 오므리의 아들 아합이 사마리아에서 이십 이년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라

오므리의 아들 아합이 그 전의 모든 사람보다 여호와 보시기에 악을 더욱 행하여

It came about, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went to serve Baal and worshiped him.

So he erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal which he built in Samaria.

Ahab also made the Asherah Thus Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho; he laid its foundations with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which He spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.

느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄를 따라 행하는 것을 오히려 가볍게 여기며 시돈 사람의 왕 엣바알의 딸 이세벨로 아내를 삼고 가서 바알을 섬겨 숭배하고

사마리아에 건축한 바알의 사당 속에 바알을 위하여 단을 쌓으며

또 아세라 목상을 만들었으니 저는 그 전의 모든 이스라엘 왕보다 심히 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격발하였더라

그 시대에 벧엘 사람 히엘이 여리고를 건축하였는데 저가 그 터를 쌓을 때에 맏아들 아비람을 잃었고 그 문을 세울 때에 말째 아들 스굽을 잃었으니 여호와께서 눈의 아들 여호수아로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라

	엘리야의 사역(17:1-17:24)

Now Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word."

The word of the LORD came to him, saying,

"Go away from here and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.

"It shall be that you will drink of the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to provide for you there."

So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan.

길르앗에 우거하는 자 중에 디셉 사람 엘리야가 아합에게 고하되 나의 섬기는 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 내 말이 없으면 수년 동안 우로가 있지 아니하리라 하니라

여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대

너는 여기서 떠나 동으로 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 숨고

그 시냇물을 마시라 내가 까마귀들을 명하여 거기서 너를 먹이게 하리라

저가 여호와의 말씀과 같이 하여 곧 가서 요단 앞 그릿 시냇가에 머물매

The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he would drink from the brook.

It happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.

Then the word of the LORD came to him, saying,

"Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there; behold, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you."

So he arose and went to Zarephath, and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks; and he called to her and said, "Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink."

까마귀들이 아침에도 떡과 고기를, 저녁에도 떡과 고기를 가져왔고 저가 시내를 마셨더니

땅에 비가 내리지 아니하므로 얼마 후에 그 시내가 마르니라

여호와의 말씀이 엘리야에게 임하여 가라사대

너는 일어나 시돈에 속한 사르밧으로 가서 거기 유하라 내가 그곳 과부에게 명하여 너를 공궤하게 하였느니라

저가 일어나 사르밧으로 가서 성문에 이를 때에 한 과부가 그곳에서 나무가지를 줍는지라 이에 불러 가로되 청컨대 그릇에 물을 조금 가져다가 나로 마시게 하라

As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, "Please bring me a piece of bread in your hand."

But she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I have no bread, only a handful of flour in the bowl and a little oil in the jar; and behold, I am gathering a few sticks that I may go in and prepare for me and my son, that we may eat it and die."

Then Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go, do as you have said, but make me a little bread cake from it first and bring it out to me, and afterward you may make one for yourself and for your son.

"For thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'The bowl of flour shall not be exhausted, nor shall the jar of oil be empty, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the face of the earth.'"

So she went and did according to the word of Elijah, and she and he and her household ate for many days.

저가 가지러 갈때에 엘리야가 저를 불러 가로되 청컨대 네 손에 떡 한 조각을 내게로 가져오라

저가 가로되 당신의 하나님 여호와의 사심을 가리켜 맹세하노니 나는 떡이 없고 다만 통에 가루 한 움큼과 병에 기름 조금 뿐이라 내가 나무가지 두엇을 주워다가 나와 내 아들을 위하여 음식을 만들어 먹고 그 후에는 죽으리라

엘리야가 저에게 이르되 두려워 말고 가서 네 말대로 하려니와 먼저 그것으로 나를 위하여 작은 떡 하나를 만들어 내게로 가져오고 그 후에 너와 네 아들을 위하여 만들라

이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 나 여호와가 비를 지면에 내리는 날까지 그 통의 가루는 다하지 아니하고 그 병의 기름은 없어지지 아니하리라 하셨느니라

저가 가서 엘리야의 말대로 하였더니 저와 엘리야와 식구가 여러날 먹었으나

The bowl of flour was not exhausted nor did the jar of oil become empty, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke through Elijah.

Now it came about after these things that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his sickness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.

So she said to Elijah, "What do I have to do with you, O man of God? You have come to me to bring my iniquity to remembrance and to put my son to death!"

He said to her, "Give me your son." Then he took him from her bosom and carried him up to the upper room where he was living, and laid him on his own bed.

He called to the LORD and said, "O LORD my God, have You also brought calamity to the widow with whom I am staying, by causing her son to die?"

여호와께서 엘리야로 하신 말씀 같이 통의 가루가 다하지 아니하고 병의 기름이 없어지지 아니하니라

이 일 후에 그 집 주모 되는 여인의 아들이 병들어 증세가 심히 위중하다가 숨이 끊어진지라

여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 하나님의 사람이여 당신이 나로 더불어 무슨 상관이 있기로 내 죄를 생각나게 하고 또 내 아들을 죽게 하려고 내게 오셨나이까

엘리야가 저에게 그 아들을 달라 하여 그를 그 여인의 품에서 취하여 안고 자기의 거처하는 다락에 올라 가서 자기 침상에 누이고

여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 나의 하나님 여호와여 주께서 또 내가 우거하는 집 과부에게 재앙을 내리사 그 아들로 죽게 하셨나이까 하고

Then he stretched himself upon the child three times, and called to the LORD and said, "O LORD my God, I pray You, let this child's life return to him."

The LORD heard the voice of Elijah, and the life of the child returned to him and he revived.

Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper room into the house and gave him to his mother; and Elijah said, "See, your son is alive."

Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD in your mouth is truth."

그 아이 위에 몸을 세번 펴서 엎드리고 여호와께 부르짖어 가로되 나의 하나님 여호와여 원컨대 이 아이의 혼으로 그 몸에 돌아오게 하옵소서 하니

여호와께서 엘리야의 소리를 들으시므로 그 아이의 혼이 몸으로 돌아 오고 살아난지라

엘리야가 그 아이를 안고 다락에서 방으로 내려가서 그 어미에게 주며 이르되 보라 네 아들이 살았느니라

여인이 엘리야에게 이르되 내가 이제야 당신은 하나님의 사람이시요 당신의 입에 있는 여호와의 말씀이 진실한줄 아노라 하니라
