욥기 13:1-15:35

 욥은 친구들이 말하는 고난에 대한 이해를 자신도 잘 알고 있다고 하면서, 그렇지만 그것이 자기의 경우와는 다르다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님과 직접 변론하여 자신의 결백을 밝히기 원한다고 말하였다. 그러자 엘리바스는 이러한 욥의 말을 정죄하면서, 악인의 고통스런 운명을 제시하며 하나님께 용서 구할 것을 촉구하였다.
  
  욥의 기도(13:1-14:22)    
 
  1. "Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.
  2. "What you know I also know; I am not inferior to you.
  3. "But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to argue with God.
  4. "But you smear with lies; You are all worthless physicians.
  5. "O that you would be completely silent, And that it would become your wisdom!
  1. 나의 눈이 이것을 다 보았고 나의 귀가 이것을 듣고 통달하였느니라
  2. 너희 아는 것을 나도 아노니 너희만 못한 내가 아니니라
  3. 참으로 나는 전능자에게 말씀하려 하며 하나님과 변론하려 하노라
  4. 너희는 거짓말을 지어내는 자요 다 쓸데 없는 의원이니라
  5. 너희가 잠잠하고 잠잠하기를 원하노라 이것이 너희의 지혜일 것이니라
  1. "Please hear my argument And listen to the contentions of my lips.
  2. "Will you speak what is unjust for God, And speak what is deceitful for Him?
  3. "Will you show partiality for Him? Will you contend for God?
  4. "Will it be well when He examines you? Or will you deceive Him as one deceives a man?
  5. "He will surely reprove you If you secretly show partiality.
  1. 너희는 나의 변론을 들으며 내 입술의 변명을 들어 보라
  2. 너희가 하나님을 위하여 불의를 말하려느냐 그를 위하여 궤휼을 말하려느냐
  3. 너희가 하나님의 낯을 좇으려느냐 그를 위하여 쟁론하려느냐
  4. 하나님이 너희를 감찰하시면 좋겠느냐 너희가 사람을 속임 같이 그를 속이려느냐
  5. 만일 가만히 낯을 좇을찐대 그가 정녕 너희를 책망하시리니
  1. "Will not His majesty terrify you, And the dread of Him fall on you?
  2. "Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, Your defenses are defenses of clay.
  3. "Be silent before me so that I may speak; Then let come on me what may.
  4. "Why should I take my flesh in my teeth And put my life in my hands?
  5. "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.
  1. 그 존귀가 너희를 두렵게 하지 않겠으며 그 위엄이 너희에게 임하지 않겠느냐
  2. 너희 격언은 재 같은 속담이요 너희의 방어하는 것은 토성이니라
  3. 너희는 잠잠하고 나를 버려두어 말하게 하라 무슨 일이 임하든지 내가 당하리라
  4. 내가 어찌하여 내 살을 내 이로 물고 내 생명을 내 손에 두겠느냐
  5. 그가 나를 죽이시리니 내가 소망이 없노라 그러나 그의 앞에서 내 행위를 변백하리라
  1. "This also will be my salvation, For a godless man may not come before His presence.
  2. "Listen carefully to my speech, And let my declaration fill your ears.
  3. "Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.
  4. "Who will contend with me? For then I would be silent and die.
  5. "Only two things do not do to me, Then I will not hide from Your face:
  1. 사곡한 자는 그의 앞에 이르지 못하나니 이것이 나의 구원이 되리라
  2. 너희는 들으라 내 말을 들으라 나의 설명을 너희 귀에 담을찌니라
  3. 보라 내가 내 사정을 진술하였거니와 내가 스스로 의로운줄 아노라
  4. 나와 변론할 자가 누구이랴 그러면 내가 잠잠하고 기운이 끊어지리라
  5. 오직 내게 이 두 가지 일을 행하지 마옵소서 그리하시면 내가 주의 얼굴을 피하여 숨지 아니하오리니
  1. Remove Your hand from me, And let not the dread of You terrify me.
  2. "Then call, and I will answer; Or let me speak, then reply to me.
  3. "How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known to me my rebellion and my sin.
  4. "Why do You hide Your face And consider me Your enemy?
  5. "Will You cause a driven leaf to tremble? Or will You pursue the dry chaff?
  1. 곧 주의 손을 내게 대지 마옵시며 주의 위엄으로 나를 두렵게 마옵실 것이니이다
  2. 그리하시고 주는 나를 부르소서 내가 대답하리이다 혹 나로 말씀하게 하옵시고 주는 내게 대답하옵소서
  3. 나의 불법과 죄가 얼마나 많으니이까 나의 허물과 죄를 내게 알게하옵소서
  4. 주께서 어찌하여 얼굴을 가리우시고 나를 주의 대적으로 여기시나이까
  5. 주께서 어찌하여 날리는 낙엽을 놀래시며 마른 검불을 따르시나이까
  1. "For You write bitter things against me And make me to inherit the iniquities of my youth.
  2. "You put my feet in the stocks And watch all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet,
  3. While I am decaying like a rotten thing, Like a garment that is moth-eaten.
  1. 주께서 나를 대적하사 괴로운 일들을 기록하시며 나로 나의 어렸을 때에 지은 죄를 받게 하시오며
  2. 내 발을 착고에 채우시며 나의 모든 길을 살피사 내 발자취를 한정하시나이다
  3. 나는 썩은 물건의 후패함 같으며 좀먹은 의복 같으니이다
 
 
  1. "Man, who is born of woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil.
  2. "Like a flower he comes forth and withers He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.
  3. "You also open Your eyes on him And bring him into judgment with Yourself.
  4. "Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one!
  5. "Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.
  1. 여인에게서 난 사람은 사는 날이 적고 괴로움이 가득하며
  2. 그 발생함이 꽃과 같아서 쇠하여지고 그림자 같이 신속하여서 머물지 아니하거늘
  3. 이와 같은 자를 주께서 눈을 들어 살피시나이까 나를 주의 앞으로 이끌어서 심문하시나이까
  4. 누가 깨끗한 것을 더러운 것 가운데서 낼수 있으리이까 하나도 없나이다
  5. 그 날을 정하셨고 그 달 수도 주께 있으므로 그 제한을 정하여 넘어가지 못하게 하셨사온즉
  1. "Turn Your gaze from him that he may rest, Until he fulfills his day like a hired man.
  2. "For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail.
  3. "Though its roots grow old in the ground And its stump dies in the dry soil,
  4. At the scent of water it will flourish And put forth sprigs like a plant.
  5. "But man dies and lies prostrate Man expires, and where is he?
  1. 그에게서 눈을 돌이켜 그로 쉬게 하사 품군 같이 그 날을 마치게 하옵소서
  2. 나무는 소망이 있나니 찍힐찌라도 다시 움이 나서 연한 가지가 끊이지 아니하며
  3. 그 뿌리가 땅에서 늙고 줄기가 흙에서 죽을찌라도
  4. 물 기운에 움이 돋고 가지가 발하여 새로 심은 것과 같거니와
  5. 사람은 죽으면 소멸되나니 그 기운이 끊어진즉 그가 어디 있느뇨
  1. "As water evaporates from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dried up,
  2. So man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no longer, He will not awake nor be aroused out of his sleep.
  3. "Oh that You would hide me in Sheol, That You would conceal me until Your wrath returns to You, That You would set a limit for me and remember me!
  4. "If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my struggle I will wait Until my change comes.
  5. "You will call, and I will answer You; You will long for the work of Your hands.
  1. 물이 바다에서 줄어지고 하수가 잦아서 마름 같이
  2. 사람이 누우면 다시 일어나지 못하고 하늘이 없어지기까지 눈을 뜨지 못하며 잠을 깨지 못하느니라
  3. 주는 나를 음부에 감추시며 주의 진노가 쉴 때까지 나를 숨기시고 나를 위하여 기한을 정하시고 나를 기억하옵소서
  4. 사람이 죽으면 어찌 다시 살리이까 나는 나의 싸우는 모든 날 동안을 참고 놓이기를 기다렸겠나이다
  5. 주께서는 나를 부르셨겠고 나는 대답하였겠나이다 주께서는 주의 손으로 지으신 것을 아껴 보셨겠나이다
  1. "For now You number my steps, You do not observe my sin.
  2. "My transgression is sealed up in a bag, And You wrap up my iniquity.
  3. "But the falling mountain crumbles away, And the rock moves from its place;
  4. Water wears away stones, Its torrents wash away the dust of the earth; So You destroy man's hope.
  5. "You forever overpower him and he departs; You change his appearance and send him away.
  1. 그러하온데 이제 주께서 나의 걸음을 세시오니 나의 죄를 살피지 아니하시나이까
  2. 내 허물을 주머니에 봉하시고 내 죄악을 싸매시나이다
  3. 무너지는 산은 정녕 흩어지고 바위는 그 자리에서 옮겨가고
  4. 물은 돌을 닳게 하고 넘치는 물은 땅의 티끌을 씻어 버리나이다 이와 같이 주께서는 사람의 소망을 끊으시나이다
  5. 주께서 사람을 영영히 이기셔서 떠나게 하시며 그의 얼굴 빛을 변하게 하시고 쫓아 보내시오니
  1. "His sons achieve honor, but he does not know it; Or they become insignificant, but he does not perceive it.
  2. "But his body pains him, And he mourns only for himself."
  1. 그 아들이 존귀하나 그가 알지 못하며 비천하나 그가 깨닫지 못하나이다
  2. 오직 자기의 살이 아프고 자기의 마음이 슬플 뿐이니이다
 
  엘리바스의 두번째 충고(15:1-15:35)    
 
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite responded,
  2. "Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge And fill himself with the east wind?
  3. "Should he argue with useless talk, Or with words which are not profitable?
  4. "Indeed, you do away with reverence And hinder meditation before God.
  5. "For your guilt teaches your mouth, And you choose the language of the crafty.
  1. 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 가로되
  2. 지혜로운 자가 어찌 헛된 지식으로 대답하겠느냐 어찌 동풍으로 그 품에 채우겠느냐
  3. 어찌 유조치 아니한 이야기, 무익한 말로 변론하겠느냐
  4. 참으로 네가 하나님 경외하는 일을 폐하여 하나님 앞에 묵도하기를 그치게 하는구나
  5. 네 죄악이 네 입을 가르치나니 네가 간사한 자의 혀를 택하였구나
  1. "Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; And your own lips testify against you.
  2. "Were you the first man to be born, Or were you brought forth before the hills?
  3. "Do you hear the secret counsel of God, And limit wisdom to yourself?
  4. "What do you know that we do not know? What do you understand that we do not?
  5. "Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, Older than your father.
  1. 너를 정죄한 것은 내가 아니요 네 입이라 네 입술이 너를 쳐서 증거하느니라
  2. 네가 제일 처음 난 사람이냐 산들이 있기 전에 네가 출생하였느냐
  3. 하나님의 모의를 네가 들었느냐 지혜를 홀로 가졌느냐
  4. 너의 아는 것이 무엇이기로 우리가 알지 못하겠느냐 너의 깨달은 것이 무엇이기로 우리에게는 없겠느냐
  5. 우리 중에는 머리가 세기도 하고 연로하기도 하여 네 부친보다 나이 많은 자가 있느니라
  1. "Are the consolations of God too small for you, Even the word spoken gently with you?
  2. "Why does your heart carry you away? And why do your eyes flash,
  3. That you should turn your spirit against God And allow such words to go out of your mouth?
  4. "What is man, that he should be pure, Or he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
  5. "Behold, He puts no trust in His holy ones, And the heavens are not pure in His sight;
  1. 하나님의 위로와 네게 온유하게 하시는 말씀을 네가 어찌 작다 하느냐
  2. 어찌하여 네가 마음에 끌리며 네 눈을 번쩍여
  3. 네 영으로 하나님을 반대하고 네 입으로 말들을 내느냐
  4. 사람이 무엇이관대 깨끗하겠느냐 여인에게서 난 자가 무엇이관대 의롭겠느냐
  5. 하나님은 그 거룩한 자들을 믿지 아니 하시나니 하늘이라도 그의 보시기에 부정하거든
  1. How much less one who is detestable and corrupt, Man, who drinks iniquity like water!
  2. "I will tell you, listen to me; And what I have seen I will also declare;
  3. What wise men have told, And have not concealed from their fathers,
  4. To whom alone the land was given, And no alien passed among them.
  5. "The wicked man writhes in pain all his days, And numbered are the years stored up for the ruthless.
  1. 하물며 악을 짓기를 물 마심 같이 하는 가증하고 부패한 사람이겠느냐
  2. 내가 네게 보이리니 나를 들으라 내가 본 것을 설명하리라
  3. 이는 곧 지혜로운 자들이 그 열조에게서 받아 숨기지 아니하고 전하여 온 것이라
  4. 이 땅은 그들에게만 주셨으므로 외인은 그들 중에 왕래하지 못하였었느니라
  5. 그 말에 이르기를 악인은 그 일평생에 고통을 당하며 강포자의 햇수는 작정 되었으므로
  1. "Sounds of terror are in his ears; While at peace the destroyer comes upon him.
  2. "He does not believe that he will return from darkness, And he is destined for the sword.
  3. "He wanders about for food, saying, 'Where is it?' He knows that a day of darkness is at hand.
  4. "Distress and anguish terrify him, They overpower him like a king ready for the attack,
  5. Because he has stretched out his hand against God And conducts himself arrogantly against the Almighty.
  1. 그 귀에는 놀라운 소리가 들리고 그 형통할 때에 멸망시키는 자가 그에게 임하리니
  2. 그가 어두운데서 나오기를 바라지 못하고 칼날의 기다림이 되느니라
  3. 그는 유리하며 식물을 구하여 이르기를 어디 있느냐 하며 흑암한 날이 가까운 줄을 스스로 아느니라
  4. 환난과 고통이 그를 두렵게 하며 싸움을 준비한 왕처럼 그를 쳐서 이기리니
  5. 이는 그 손을 들어 하나님을 대적하며 교만하여 전능자를 배반함이니라
  1. "He rushes headlong at Him With his massive shield.
  2. "For he has covered his face with his fat And made his thighs heavy with flesh.
  3. "He has lived in desolate cities, In houses no one would inhabit, Which are destined to become ruins.
  4. "He will not become rich, nor will his wealth endure; And his grain will not bend down to the ground.
  5. "He will not escape from darkness; The flame will wither his shoots, And by the breath of His mouth he will go away.
  1. 그는 목을 굳게 하고 두터운 방패로 하나님을 치려고 달려가나니
  2. 그 얼굴에는 살이 찌고 허리에는 기름이 엉기었고
  3. 그는 황무한 성읍, 사람이 살지 아니하는 집, 돌무더기가 될 곳에 거하였음이니라
  4. 그는 부요하지 못하고 재산이 항상 있지 못하며 그 산업이 땅에서 증식하지 못할 것이며
  5. 흑암한 데를 떠나지 못하리니 불꽃이 그 가지를 말릴 것이라 하나님의 입김에 그가 떠나리라
  1. "Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; For emptiness will be his reward.
  2. "It will be accomplished before his time, And his palm branch will not be green.
  3. "He will drop off his unripe grape like the vine, And will cast off his flower like the olive tree.
  4. "For the company of the godless is barren, And fire consumes the tents of the corrupt.
  5. "They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity, And their mind prepares deception."
  1. 그는 스스로 속아 허망한 것을 믿지 말 것은 허망한 것이 그의 보응이 될 것임이라
  2. 그의 날이 이르기 전에 그 일이 이룰 것인즉 그 가지가 푸르지 못하리니
  3. 포도열매가 익기 전에 떨어짐 같고 감람 꽃이 곧 떨어짐 같으리라
  4. 사곡한 무리는 결실이 없고 뇌물을 받는 자의 장막은 불탈 것이라
  5. 그들은 악한 생각을 배고 불의를 낳으며 마음에 궤휼을 예비한다 하였느니라
 
  변백(辨白, 13:15)  사리를 분변하여 똑똑하게 밝힘  
  유조치 아니한( 15:3)  아무 도움도 되지 않는, 쓸데없는
