마태복음 17:22-18:14

 예수께서 두번째로 자신이 수난당하실 것을 말씀하시고, 어린아이와 같은 겸손과 지극히 작은 자에 대한 관심과 사랑을 실천할 것을 교훈하셨다.
  
  두번째 수난 예언(17:22-17:27)    
 
  1. And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men;
  2. and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day." And they were deeply grieved.
  3. When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax came to Peter and said, "Does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax?"
  4. He said, "Yes." And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect customs or poll-tax, from their sons or from strangers?"
  5. When Peter said, "From strangers," Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are exempt.
  1. 그들이 갈릴래아에 모여 있을 때에 예수께서 이런 말씀을 하셨다. "사람의 아들은 머지않아 사람들에게 잡혀
  2. 그들의 손에 죽었다가 사흘 만에 다시 살아날 것이다." 이 말씀을 듣고 제자들은 매우 슬퍼하였다.
  3. 그들이 가파르나움에 이르렀을 때에 성전세를 받으러 다니는 사람들이 베드로에게 와서 "당신네 선생님은 성전세를 바칩니까?" 하고 물었다.
  4. "예, 바치십니다." 베드로가 이렇게 대답하고 집에 들어갔더니 예수께서 먼저 "시몬아, 너는 어떻게 생각하느냐? 세상 임금들이 관세나 인두세를 누구한테서 받아내느냐? 자기 자녀들한테서 받느냐? 남한테서 받느냐?" 하고 물으셨다.
  5. "남한테서 받아냅니다." 하고 베드로가 대답하자 예수께서 다시 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "그렇다면 자녀들은 세금을 물지 않아도 되지 않겠느냐?
  1. "However, so that we do not offend them, go to the sea and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up; and when you open its mouth, you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for you and Me."
  1. 그러나 우리가 그들의 비위를 건드릴 것은 없으니 이렇게 하여라. 바다에 가서 낚시를 던져 맨 먼저 낚인 고기를 잡아 입을 열어보아라. 그 속에 한 스타테르짜리 은전이 들어 있을 터이니 그것을 꺼내서 내 몫과 네 몫으로 갖다내어라."
 
  천국에서 가장 큰 자(18:1-18:14)    
 
  1. At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"
  2. And He called a child to Himself and set him before them,
  3. and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
  4. "Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
  5. "And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;
  1. 그 때에 제자들이 예수께 와서 "하늘 나라에서는 누가 가장 위대합니까?" 하고 물었다.
  2. 예수께서 어린이 하나를 불러 그들 가운데 세우시고
  3. "나는 분명히 말한다. 너희가 생각을 바꾸어 어린이와 같이 되지 않으면 결코 하늘 나라에 들어가지 못할 것이다.
  4. 그리고 하늘 나라에서 가장 위대한 사람은 자신을 낮추어 이 어린이와 같이 되는 사람이다.
  5. 또 누구든지 나를 받아들이듯이 이런 어린이 하나를 받아들이는 사람은 곧 나를 받아들이는 사람이다." 하고 대답하셨다.
  1. but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
  2. "Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!
  3. "If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire.
  4. "If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be cast into the fiery hell.
  5. "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
  1. "그러나 나를 믿는 이 보잘것없는 사람들 가운데 누구 하나라도 죄짓게 하는 사람은 그 목에 연자맷돌을 달고 깊은 바다에 던져져 죽는 편이 오히려 나을 것이다.
  2. 사람을 죄짓게 하는 이 세상은 참으로 불행하다. 이 세상에 죄악의 유혹은 있게 마련이지만 남을 죄짓게 하는 사람은 참으로 불행하다."
  3. "손이나 발이 죄를 짓게 하거든 그것을 찍어 던져버려라. 두 손과 두 발을 가지고 영원한 불 속에 던져지는 것보다는 차라리 불구의 몸이 되더라도 영원한 생명에 들어가는 편이 더 낫다.
  4. 또 눈이 죄를 짓게 하거든 그것을 빼어 던져버려라. 두 눈을 가지고 불붙는 지옥에 던져지는 것보다는 한 눈을 잃더라도 영원한 생명에 들어가는 편이 더 낫다."
  5. "너희는 이 보잘것없는 사람들 가운데 누구 하나라도 업신여기는 일이 없도록 조심하여라. 하늘에 있는 그들의 천사들이 하늘에 계신 내 아버지를 항상 모시고 있다는 것을 알아두어라."
  1. ["For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.]
  2. "What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying?
  3. "If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray.
  4. "So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.

  2. "너희의 생각은 어떠하냐? 어떤 사람에게 양 백 마리가 있었는데 그 중의 한 마리가 길을 잃었다고 하자. 그 사람은 아흔아홉 마리를 산에 그대로 둔 채 그 길 잃은 양을 찾아 나서지 않겠느냐?
  3. 나는 분명히 말한다. 그 양을 찾게 되면 그는 길을 잃지 않은 아흔아홉 마리 양보다 오히려 그 한 마리 양 때문에 더 기뻐할 것이다.
  4. 이와 같이 하늘에 계신 너희의 아버지께서는 이 보잘것없는 사람들 가운데 하나라도 망하는 것을 원하시지 않는다."
 
  관세와 정세(丁稅關稅, 17:25)  관세는 지방세와 물품세를, 정세는 국세와 인두세를 말함
