출애굽기 13:1-14:31

 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성들에게 무교절과 초태생 규례를 지키라고 말씀하셨다. 이는 그들이 애굽의 장자 사망의 재앙중에서 무사히 탈출하게 된 것을 기념하기 위해서였다. 하나님께서는 그들에게 불과 구름 기둥으로 임재하셔서 홍해의 광야 길로 인도하셨다. 마음이 강퍅하게 된 바로가 백성들을 추격했으나 하나님께서 모세의 지팡이로 홍해를 갈라지게 하여 구원하셨다.
  
  무교절과 초태생 규례(13:1-13:22)    
 
  1. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
  2. "Sanctify to Me every firstborn, the first offspring of every womb among the sons of Israel, both of man and beast; it belongs to Me."
  3. Moses said to the people, "Remember this day in which you went out from Egypt, from the house of slavery; for by a powerful hand the LORD brought you out from this place And nothing leavened shall be eaten.
  4. "On this day in the month of Abib, you are about to go forth.
  5. "It shall be when the LORD brings you to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall observe this rite in this month.
  1. 야훼께서 모세에게 이르셨다.
  2. "이스라엘 백성 가운데서 모태를 열고 나온 맏아들은 모두 나에게 바쳐라. 사람뿐 아니라 짐승의 맏배도 나의 것이다."
  3. 모세가 백성에게 선포하였다. "너희가 종살이하던 나라, 이집트에서 나온 이 날은 마땅히 기념해야 한다. 야훼께서 강하신 손으로 너희를 거기에서 이끌어내신 이 날, 누룩 든 빵을 먹어서는 안 된다.
  4. 너희는 아빕월 바로 오늘 풀려 나왔다.
  5. 너희는 야훼의 인도를 받아 야훼께서 너희 선조들에게 주시겠다고 약속하신 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅, 곧 가나안족과 헷족과 아모리족과 히위족과 여부스족이 사는 땅으로 들어가거든 이 달에 다음과 같은 예식을 따라 예배를 드려라.
  1. "For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the LORD.
  2. "Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and nothing leavened shall be seen among you, nor shall any leaven be seen among you in all your borders.
  3. "You shall tell your son on that day, saying, 'It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.'
  4. "And it shall serve as a sign to you on your hand, and as a reminder on your forehead, that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth; for with a powerful hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.
  5. "Therefore, you shall keep this ordinance at its appointed time from year to year.
  1. 너희는 누룩 없는 빵을 칠 일간 먹다가, 칠 일째 되는 날 야훼께 축제를 올려라.
  2. 칠 일간 누룩 없는 빵만 먹어야 한다. 그 동안에는 너희가 사는 영토 안에서 부풀린 빵이나 누룩이 눈에 띄지 않게 하여라.
  3. 그 날이 오면 너희는 너희 아들에게, 너희가 이집트에서 풀려 나올 때 야훼께서 너희에게 해주신 일을 생각하고 드리는 축제라고 설명해 주어라.
  4. 이것을 너희 손에 새긴 표나 이마에 붙이고 다니는 기념물처럼 여겨 야훼의 가르치심을 되뇌어라. 야훼의 강하신 손이 너희를 이집트에서 이끌어내시지 않았느냐?
  5. 너희는 이 행사를 규정대로 해마다 정한 때에 지켜야 한다.
  1. "Now when the LORD brings you to the land of the Canaanite, as He swore to you and to your fathers, and gives it to you,
  2. you shall devote to the LORD the first offspring of every womb, and the first offspring of every beast that you own; the males belong to the LORD.
  3. "But every first offspring of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, but if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck; and every firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem.
  4. "And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, 'What is this?' then you shall say to him, 'With a powerful hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery.
  5. 'It came about, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that the LORD killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast. Therefore, I sacrifice to the LORD the males, the first offspring of every womb, but every firstborn of my sons I redeem.'
  1. 야훼께서 너희와 너희 선조들에게 맹세하신 대로 가나안 땅으로 너희를 들여보내어 그 땅을 차지하게 하시거든,
  2. 너희는 태를 처음 열고 나온 것을 모두 야훼께 바쳐라. 너희 가축이 처음 낳은 수컷도 야훼의 것이다.
  3. 처음 난 나귀는 양을 대신 바치고 물러내어라. 물러내지 않으려거든 목을 꺾어라. 너희 자식들 가운데서 맏이는 다 물러내어라.
  4. 훗날, 너희 아들이 왜 이런 일을 하느냐고 묻거든 너희는 이렇게 말해 주어라. '야훼께서 강하신 손을 펴시어 종살이하던 나라, 이집트에서 우리를 건져내셨다.
  5. 그 때 파라오가 우리를 내보내지 않으려고 고집을 부렸으므로 야훼께서는 이집트 땅에 있는 처음 난 것을 모조리 죽이실 수밖에 없었다. 사람뿐 아니라 짐승까지도 처음 난 것은 모조리 죽이셨다. 그래서 나는 처음 태를 연 수컷을 모두 야훼께 제물로 바쳐야 하고 아들들 가운데서도 맏아들은 물러내어야 하는 것이다.'
  1. "So it shall serve as a sign on your hand and as phylacteries on your forehead, for with a powerful hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt."
  2. Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said, "The people might change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt."
  3. Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt.
  4. Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, "God will surely take care of you, and you shall carry my bones from here with you."
  5. Then they set out from Succoth and camped in Etham on the edge of the wilderness.
  1. 이것을 너희 손에 새긴 표나 이마에 붙이고 다니는 표지처럼 여겨라. 야훼께서 그 강하신 손으로 우리를 이집트에서 이끌어내시지 않았느냐?"
  2. 파라오는 마침내 이스라엘 백성을 내보내게 되었다. 그러나 하느님께서는 그들을 곧장 불레셋 땅으로 가는 길로 인도하지 않으셨다. 하느님께서는 이 백성이 닥쳐올 전쟁을 내다보고는 후회가 되어 이집트로 되돌아가지나 않을까 염려하셨던 것이다.
  3. 그래서 하느님은 그들을 홍해에 이르는 광야 길로 돌아가게 하셨다. 이스라엘 백성은 단단히 무장하고 이집트 땅에서 나왔다.
  4. 이 때, 모세는 요셉의 유해를 모시고 떠났다. 요셉이 "하느님께서 너희를 돌보아 찾아오실 터이니, 그 때 너희는 내 뼈를 여기에서 옮겨다오." 하고 이스라엘 백성에게 단단히 다짐해 두었던 것이다.
  5. 그들은 수꼿을 떠나 광야 접경에 있는 에담에 진을 쳤다.
  1. The LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night.
  2. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
  1. 야훼께서는 그들이 주야로 행군할 수 있도록 낮에는 구름기둥으로 앞서가시며 길을 인도하시고 밤에는 불기둥으로 앞길을 비추어주셨다. 이렇게
  2. 낮에는 구름기둥, 밤에는 불기둥이 백성 앞에서 떠나지 않았다.
 
  홍해 사건(14:1-14:31)    
 
  1. Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
  2. "Tell the sons of Israel to turn back and camp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea; you shall camp in front of Baal-zephon, opposite it, by the sea.
  3. "For Pharaoh will say of the sons of Israel, 'They are wandering aimlessly in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.'
  4. "Thus I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will chase after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD." And they did so.
  5. When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his servants had a change of heart toward the people, and they said, "What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?"
  1. 야훼께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 이스라엘 백성에게, 가던 길을 돌이켜 믹돌과 바다 사이에 있는 비하히롯으로 돌아와 그 근처 바알스본 앞 해변에 진을 치라고 하여라.
  3. 그러면 파라오는 이스라엘 백성이 광야에서 길이 막혀 아직도 이 땅에서 헤매고 있다고 생각할 것이다.
  4. 내가 파라오의 마음을 굳어지게 하면 그가 그들의 뒤를 추격할 것이다. 그러면 나는 파라오와 그의 군대를 쳐서 내 영광을 드러내어 이집트인들로 하여금 내가 야훼임을 알게 하리라." 그들은 그대로 하였다.
  5. 이스라엘 백성이 도망쳤다는 정보가 이집트 왕의 귀에 들어갔다. 파라오와 그의 신하들은 마음이 변하여 "이스라엘 백성을 부려먹지 않고 풀어 보내다니, 안 될 일이다." 하고 말하였다.
  1. So he made his chariot ready and took his people with him;
  2. and he took six hundred select chariots, and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them.
  3. The LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel as the sons of Israel were going out boldly.
  4. Then the Egyptians chased after them with all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and they overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.
  5. As Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they became very frightened; so the sons of Israel cried out to the LORD.
  1. 파라오는 병거에 말을 메워 백성을 거느리고 나섰다.
  2. 특수 병거 육백 대로 편성된 정예부대를 앞세워 이집트의 모든 병거를 총동원해 가지고 나섰다.
  3. 야훼께서 이집트 왕 파라오의 마음을 굳어지게 하셨으므로 그는, 의기양양하게 나가는 이스라엘 백성을 추격하게 되었다.
  4. 이리하여 파라오의 병거와 기마, 기병, 보병 등 이집트인들은 그들을 뒤쫓아 비하히롯 근처 바알스본 앞 해변에 진을 친 그들을 따라잡았다.
  5. 파라오가 다가왔다. 이스라엘 백성이 보니 이집트인들이 덮칠 듯이 뒤따라오고 있는 것이 아닌가. 이스라엘 백성은 질겁을 하고 야훼께 부르짖으며
  1. Then they said to Moses, "Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, bringing us out of Egypt?
  2. "Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, 'Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians'? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness."
  3. But Moses said to the people, "Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.
  4. "The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent."
  5. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.
  1. 모세를 원망하였다. "이집트에는 묻힐 데가 없어서 우리를 광야로 끌어내어 여기에서 죽이려는 것이냐? 왜 우리를 이집트에서 끌어내어 이렇게 만드느냐?
  2. 우리가 이럴 줄 알고 이집트에서 이집트인들을 섬기게 그대로 내버려두라고 하지 않더냐? 이집트인들을 섬기는 편이 광야에서 죽는 것보다 낫다고 하지 않았느냐?"
  3. 모세가 백성들에게 소리쳤다. "두려워하지 마라. 움직이지 말고 오늘 야훼께서 너희를 어떻게 구원하시는가 보아라. 너희가 오늘 눈앞에 보는 이집트인들을 다시는 보지 않게 되리라.
  4. 야훼께서 너희를 위하여 싸워주실 터이니 모두들 진정하여라."
  5. 야훼께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 어찌하여 나에게 부르짖기만 하느냐? 이스라엘 백성에게 전진하라고 명령하여라.
  1. "As for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land.
  2. "As for Me, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.
  3. "Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots and his horsemen."
  4. The angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.
  5. So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Thus the one did not come near the other all night.
  1. 너는 너의 지팡이를 들고 바다 위로 팔을 뻗쳐 물을 가르고 이스라엘 백성으로 하여금 바다 가운데로 마른 땅을 걸어 건너가게 하여라.
  2. 나는 이집트인들의 마음이 굳어지게 하리라. 그리하여 그들이 너희를 뒤따라 들어서게 되면 내가 파라오와 그의 모든 군대와 병거와 기병을 쳐서 영광을 드러내리라.
  3. 내가 파라오와 그의 병거와 기병들을 쳐 나의 영광을 드러내면, 이집트인들이 비로소 내가 야훼임을 알게 되리라."
  4. 이스라엘을 앞서 인도하던 하느님의 천사가 뒤로 돌아가 호위하자 그들 앞에 서 있던 구름기둥도 뒤로 돌아가
  5. 이집트의 진과 이스라엘의 진 사이에 섰다. 그러자 구름 때문에 캄캄해져서 서로 가까이 가지도 못하고 밤을 새웠다.
  1. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided.
  2. The sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
  3. Then the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea.
  4. At the morning watch, the LORD looked down on the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud and brought the army of the Egyptians into confusion.
  5. He caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians said, "Let us flee from Israel, for the LORD is fighting for them against the Egyptians."
  1. 모세가 팔을 바다로 뻗치자, 야훼께서는 밤새도록 거센 바람을 일으켜 바닷물을 뒤로 밀어붙여 바다를 말리셨다. 바다가 갈라지자
  2. 이스라엘 백성은 바다 가운데로 마른 땅을 밟고 걸어갔다. 물은 그들 좌우에서 벽이 되어주었다.
  3. 이집트인들이 뒤쫓아왔다. 파라오의 말과 병거와 기병이 모두 그들을 따라 바다로 들어섰다.
  4. 새벽녘에 야훼께서 불과 구름기둥에서 이집트 군대를 내려다보시자 이집트 군대는 갈팡질팡하였다.
  5. 또한 야훼께서는 그들의 병거 바퀴들을 얽어놓아 꼼짝도 못하게 하셨다. 그러자 이집트인들은 "이스라엘 사람들을 버려두고 도망가자. 야훼께서 이스라엘 사람들 편이 되어 우리 이집트 군대를 치신다." 하고 소리쳤다.
  1. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen."
  2. So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing right into it; then the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
  3. The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even Pharaoh's entire army that had gone into the sea after them; not even one of them remained.
  4. But the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
  5. Thus the LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.
  1. 야훼께서 모세에게 이르셨다. "이집트인들과 그들의 병거와 기병들 위에 물이 도로 덮이게 네 팔을 바다 위로 뻗쳐라."
  2. 모세는 팔을 바다 위로 뻗쳤다. 날이 새자 바닷물이 제자리로 돌아왔다. 이집트인들은 물결을 무릅쓰고 도망치려고 했으나, 야훼께서 이집트인들을 바다 속에 처넣으셨다.
  3. 물결이 도로 밀려오며 병거와 기병을 모두 삼켜버렸다. 이리하여 이스라엘 백성을 따라 바다에 들어섰던 파라오의 군대는 하나도 살아 남지 못하였다.
  4. 그러나 이스라엘 백성은 바다 가운데로 마른 땅을 밟고 건너갔다. 물은 그들 좌우에서 벽이 되어주었다.
  5. 그 날, 야훼께서는 이렇게 이스라엘을 이집트 군대로부터 건지셨다. 이스라엘 사람들은 이집트인들이 해변에서 죽어 있는 것을 보았다.
  1. When Israel saw the great power which the LORD had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD, and they believed in the LORD and in His servant Moses.
  1. 이스라엘 사람들은 야훼께서 그 큰 팔을 펴시어 이집트인들을 치시는 것을 보고 야훼를 두려워하며 야훼와 그의 종 모세를 믿게 되었다.
