	마태복음 26:69-27:14 예수님을 따르던 베드로는 예언대로 예수님을 세 번 부인하였다. 총독 빌라도에게 넘겨진 예수님은 다시 심문을 받게 되었고 무죄한 예수님을 팔아 넘긴 유다는 자살하고 말았다.

	제자들의 배반(26:69-27:14)

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a servant-girl came to him and said, "You too were with Jesus the Galilean."

But he denied it before them all, saying, "I do not know what you are talking about."

When he had gone out to the gateway, another servant-girl saw him and said to those who were there, "This man was with Jesus of Nazareth."

And again he denied it with an oath, "I do not know the man."

A little later the bystanders came up and said to Peter, "Surely you too are one of them; for even the way you talk gives you away."

그 동안 베드로는 바깥 뜰에 앉아 있었는데 여종 하나가 그에게 다가와 "당신도 저 갈릴래아 사람 예수와 함께 다니던 사람이군요." 하고 말하였다.

베드로는 여러 사람 앞에서 "무슨 소린지 나는 모르겠소." 하고 부인하였다.

그리고 베드로가 대문께로 나가자 다른 여종이 그를 보고는 거기 있는 사람들에게 "이 사람은 나자렛의 예수와 함께 다니던 사람이오." 하고 말하였다.

베드로는 맹세까지 하면서 "나는 그 사람을 알지 못하오." 하고 다시 부인하였다.

조금 뒤에 거기 섰던 사람들이 베드로에게 다가오며 "틀림없이 당신도 그들과 한 패요. 당신의 말씨만 들어도 알 수 있소." 하고 말하였다.

Then he began to curse and swear, "I do not know the man!" And immediately a rooster crowed.

And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, "Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times." And he went out and wept bitterly.

그러자 베드로는 거짓말이라면 천벌이라도 받겠다고 맹세하면서 "나는 그 사람을 알지 못하오." 하고 잡아떼었다. 바로 그 때에 닭이 울었다.

베드로는 "닭이 울기 전에 세 번이나 나를 모른다고 할 것이다." 하신 예수의 말씀이 떠올라 밖으로 나가 몹시 울었다.

Now when morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people conferred together against Jesus to put Him to death;

and they bound Him, and led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate the governor.

Then when Judas, who had betrayed Him, saw that He had been condemned, he felt remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." But they said, "What is that to us? See to that yourself!"

And he threw the pieces of silver into the temple sanctuary and departed; and he went away and hanged himself.

이른 아침에 모든 대사제들과 백성의 원로들이 예수를 죽일 계획을 짜고

그를 결박하여 총독 빌라도에게 끌고 가서 넘겨주었다.

그 때에 배반자 유다는 예수께서 유죄 판결을 받으신 것을 보고 자기가 저지른 일을 뉘우쳤다. 그래서 은전 서른 닢을 대사제들과 원로들에게 돌려주며

"내가 죄없는 사람을 배반하여 그의 피를 흘리게 하였으니 나는 죄인입니다." 하였다. 그러나 그들은 "우리가 알 바 아니다. 그대가 알아서 처리하여라." 하고 말하였다.

유다는 그 은전을 성소에 내동댕이치고 물러가서 스스로 목매달아 죽었다.

The chief priests took the pieces of silver and said, "It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since it is the price of blood."

And they conferred together and with the money bought the Potter's Field as a burial place for strangers.

For this reason that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.

Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: "AND THEY TOOK THE THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER, THE PRICE OF THE ONE WHOSE PRICE HAD BEEN SET by the sons of Israel;

AND THEY GAVE THEM FOR THE POTTER'S FIELD, AS THE LORD DIRECTED ME."

대사제들은 그 은전을 주워 들고 "이것은 피 값이니 헌금궤에 넣어서는 안 되겠소." 하며

의논한 끝에 그 돈으로 옹기장이의 밭을 사서 나그네의 묘지로 사용하기로 하였다.

그래서 그 밭은 오늘날까지 "피의 밭"이라고 불린다.

이리하여 예언자 예레미야를 시켜 "이스라엘의 자손들이 정한 한 사람의 몸값, 은전 서른 닢을 받아서

주께서 나에게 명하신 대로 옹기장이의 밭 값을 치렀다." 하신 말씀이 이루어졌다.

Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."

And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He did not answer.

Then Pilate said to Him, "Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?"

And He did not answer him with regard to even a single charge, so the governor was quite amazed.

예수께서 총독 앞에 서시자 총독은 "네가 유다인의 왕인가?" 하고 물었다. 예수께서는 "그것은 네 말이다." 하고 대답하셨다.

그러나 대사제들과 원로들이 고발하는 말에는 아무 대답도 하지 않으셨다.

그래서 빌라도가 "사람들이 저렇게 여러 가지 죄목을 들어서 고발하고 있는데 그 말이 들리지 않느냐?" 하고 다시 물었지만

예수께서는 총독이 매우 이상하게 여길 정도로 아무런 대답도 하지 않으셨다.
