	누가복음 22:54-23:12 체포되어 끌려가시는 예수님의 뒤를 따라가서 대제사장의 집 뜰에 들어간 베드로는 예수님의 예언대로 세 번 주님을 부인하고 말았다. 예수님은 대제사장의 집에서 모욕당하신 후, 산헤드린에서 신성 모독죄로 정죄받으셨다. 그 후 예수님은 로마 총독 빌라도와 갈릴리의 분봉왕 헤롯에게 심문을 받으셨다.

	베드로의 부인(22:54-22:71)

Having arrested Him, they led Him away and brought Him to the house of the high priest; but Peter was following at a distance.

After they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter was sitting among them.

And a servant-girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight and looking intently at him, said, "This man was with Him too."

But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I do not know Him."

A little later, another saw him and said, "You are one of them too!" But Peter said, "Man, I am not!"

그들은 예수를 잡아 대사제의 관저로 끌고 들어갔다. 그 때에 베드로는 멀찍이 떨어져서 뒤따르다가

마당 가운데에 불을 피우고 둘러앉아 있는 사람들 틈에 끼여들어 앉아 있었다.

베드로가 불을 쬐고 앉아 있을 때 어떤 여종이 베드로를 유심히 들여다보며 "이 사람도 예수와 함께 있었어요." 하고 말하였다.

베드로는 그 말을 부인하면서 "여보시오, 나는 그런 사람을 모르오." 하였다.

얼마 뒤에 또 어떤 사람이 베드로를 보고 "당신도 그들과 한패요." 하고 말하자 베드로는 "여보시오, 나는 그런 사람이 아니오." 하고 잡아떼었다.

After about an hour had passed, another man began to insist, saying, "Certainly this man also was with Him, for he is a Galilean too."

But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are talking about." Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

The Lord turned and looked at Peter And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, "Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times."

And he went out and wept bitterly.

Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking Him and beating Him,

그 뒤 한 시간쯤 지나서 또 다른 사람이 "이 사람은 분명히 예수와 함께 있던 사람이오. 이 사람도 갈릴래아 사람이 아니오?" 하며 몰아세웠다.

베드로는 "여보시오, 무슨 소리를 하는 거요?" 하며 끝내 부인하였다. 베드로의 말이 채 끝나기도 전에 닭이 울었다.

그 때에 주께서 몸을 돌려 베드로를 똑바로 바라보셨다. 그제서야 베드로는 "오늘 닭이 울기 전에 나를 세 번 모른다고 할 것이다." 하신 주님의 말씀이 떠올라

밖으로 나가 슬피 울었다.

예수를 지키던 사람들은 예수를 조롱하고 때리며

and they blindfolded Him and were asking Him, saying, "Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?"

And they were saying many other things against Him, blaspheming.

When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,

"If You are the Christ, tell us." But He said to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe;

and if I ask a question, you will not answer.

눈을 가리고 "누가 때렸는지 알아맞혀 보아라." 하면서

계속해서 갖은 욕설을 다 퍼부었다.

날이 밝자 백성의 원로들을 비롯하여 대사제들과 율법학자들이 모여 법정을 열고 예수를 끌어내어

심문을 시작하였다. "자, 말해 보아라. 그대가 그리스도인가?" 예수께서는 "내가 그렇다고 말하여도 너희는 믿지 않을 것이며

내가 물어보아도 너희는 대답하지 않을 것이다.

"But from now on THE SON OF MAN WILL BE SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND of the power OF GOD."

And they all said, "Are You the Son of God, then?" And He said to them, "Yes, I am."

Then they said, "What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth."

사람의 아들은 이제부터 전능하신 하느님의 오른편에 앉게 될 것이다." 하고 대답하셨다.

이 말씀을 듣고 그들은 모두 "그러면 그대가 하느님의 아들이란 말인가?" 하고 물었다. 예수께서 "내가 하느님의 아들이라는 것을 너희가 말하였다." 하고 대답하시자

그들은 "이제 무슨 증언이 필요하겠습니까? 제 입으로 말하는 것을 우리가 직접 듣지 않았습니까?" 하고 말하였다.

	빌라도와 헤롯의 심문(23:1-23:12)

Then the whole body of them got up and brought Him before Pilate.

And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King."

So Pilate asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And He answered him and said, "It is as you say."

Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, "I find no guilt in this man."

But they kept on insisting, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee even as far as this place."

그리고 나서 온 의회가 일어나 예수를 빌라도 앞에 끌고 가서

"우리는 이 사람이 백성들에게 소란을 일으키도록 선동하며 카이사르에게 세금을 못 바치게 하고 자칭 그리스도요 왕이라고 하기에 붙잡아 왔습니다." 하고 고발하기 시작하였다.

빌라도가 예수께 "네가 유다인의 왕인가?" 하고 물었다. "그것은 네 말이다." 하고 예수께서 대답하시자

빌라도는 대사제들과 군중을 향하여 "나는 이 사람에게서 아무런 잘못도 찾아낼 수 없다." 하고 선언하였다.

그러나 그들은 "이 사람은 갈릴래아에서 이 곳에 이르기까지 온 유다 땅을 돌며 백성들을 가르치면서 선동하고 있습니다." 하고 우겨댔다.

When Pilate heard it, he asked whether the man was a Galilean.

And when he learned that He belonged to Herod's jurisdiction, he sent Him to Herod, who himself also was in Jerusalem at that time.

Now Herod was very glad when he saw Jesus; for he had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had been hearing about Him and was hoping to see some sign performed by Him.

And he questioned Him at some length; but He answered him nothing.

And the chief priests and the scribes were standing there, accusing Him vehemently.

이 말을 들은 빌라도는 이 사람이 갈릴래아 사람이냐고 묻고

예수가 헤로데의 관할 구역에 속한 것을 알고는 마침 그 때 예루살렘에 와 있던 헤로데에게 예수를 넘겨주었다.

헤로데는 예수를 보고 매우 기뻐하였다. 오래 전부터 예수의 소문을 듣고 한번 만나보고 싶었을 뿐만 아니라 예수가 행하는 기적을 한번 보고 싶었던 것이다.

그래서 헤로데는 이것 저것 캐어 물었지만 예수께서는 아무런 대답도 하시지 않았다.

그 때 대사제들과 율법학자들도 거기 있다가 예수를 악랄하게 고발하였다.

And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, dressed Him in a gorgeous robe and sent Him back to Pilate.

Now Herod and Pilate became friends with one another that very day; for before they had been enemies with each other.

헤로데는 자기 경비병들과 함께 예수를 조롱하며 모욕을 준 다음 화려한 옷을 입혀 빌라도에게 돌려보냈다.

헤로데와 빌라도가 전에는 서로 반목하고 지냈지만 바로 그 날 다정한 사이가 되었다.
