사도행전 4:1-4:37

 예수님의 죽음과 부활을 증거하던 베드로와 요한은 유대 지도자들에 의해 체포되어 투옥된 후 공회에서 심문과 협박을 받고 놓여났다. 이러한 핍박 속에서도 초대교회는 더욱 단합하여 기도함으로써 왕성해져 갔다.
  
  체포된 베드로와 요한(4:1-4:31)    
 
  1. As they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them,
  2. being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
  3. And they laid hands on them and put them in jail until the next day, for it was already evening.
  4. But many of those who had heard the message believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
  5. On the next day, their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;
  1. 베드로와 요한이 사람들에게 설교하고 있을 때 사제들과 성전 수위대장과 사두가이파 사람들이 그 자리에 나타났다.
  2. 그들은 두 사도가 사람들을 가르치며 예수께서 부활하신 사실을 들어 죽은 사람들이 다시 살아난다고 선전하는 데 격분하여
  3. 그들을 붙잡았다. 그러나 날이 이미 저물었으므로 감옥에 넣어 다음날까지 가두어두었다.
  4. 그런데 그 설교를 듣고 많은 사람들이 예수를 믿게 되었고 그 수효는 장정만도 오천 명 가량이나 되었다.
  5. 그 이튿날 유다 지도자들과 원로들과 율법학자들이 예루살렘에 모였다.
  1. and Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of high-priestly descent.
  2. When they had placed them in the center, they began to inquire, "By what power, or in what name, have you done this?"
  3. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers and elders of the people,
  4. if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well,
  5. let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by this name this man stands here before you in good health.
  1. 그 자리에는 대사제 안나스를 비롯하여 가야파와 요한과 알렉산더와 그 밖에 대사제 가문에 속한 여러 사람들이 있었다.
  2. 그들은 두 사도를 앞에 세워놓고 "당신들은 무슨 권한과 누구의 이름으로 이런 일을 하였소?" 하고 물었다.
  3. 그 때 성령으로 가득 찬 베드로는 이렇게 대답하였다. "백성의 지도자들과 원로 여러분,
  4. 오늘 여러분이 우리가 불구자에게 착한 일을 한 사실과 그가 어떻게 낫게 되었는가 하는 경위에 관해서 심문을 하는데
  5. 불구자였던 저 사람이 성한 몸으로 여러분 앞에 서게 된 것은 바로 나자렛 예수 그리스도의 이름에 힘입어 된 것입니다. 그분은 여러분이 십자가에 못박아 죽였지만 하느님께서 죽은 자들 가운데서 다시 살리신 분입니다. 여러분과 이스라엘의 모든 백성은 이것을 아셔야 합니다.
  1. "He is the STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED by you, THE BUILDERS, but WHICH BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone.
  2. "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
  3. Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.
  4. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.
  5. But when they had ordered them to leave the Council, they began to confer with one another,
  1. 이 예수는 집 짓는 사람들 곧 여러분에게 버림을 받았지만 모퉁이의 머릿돌이 되신 분입니다.
  2. 이분에게 힘입지 않고는 아무도 구원받을 수 없습니다. 사람에게 주신 이름 가운데 우리를 구원할 수 있는 이름은 이 이름밖에는 없습니다."
  3. 그들은 베드로와 요한이 본래 배운 것이 없는 천한 사람인 줄 알았는데 이렇게 자신 있게 말하는 것을 보고 깜짝 놀랐다. 그리고 두 사도가 예수를 따라다니던 사람들이라는 것도 알게 되었다.
  4. 그러나 전에 불구자였던 사람이 성한 몸으로 그 자리에 서 있는 것을 보고는 아무 말도 하지 못하였다.
  5. 그래서 그들은 베드로와 요한을 의회에서 나가게 한 다음 자기네끼리 대책을 의논하였다.
  1. saying, "What shall we do with these men? For the fact that a noteworthy miracle has taken place through them is apparent to all who live in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
  2. "But so that it will not spread any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no longer to any man in this name."
  3. And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
  4. But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge;
  5. for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard."
  1. "저 사람들을 어떻게 하면 좋겠습니까? 저 사람들이 놀라운 기적을 나타냈다는 사실은 예루살렘에 사는 사람이면 다 아는 터이고 우리도 또한 그것을 부정할 수가 없습니다.
  2. 이 일이 사람들에게 더 퍼져 나가서는 안 되겠으니 다시는 아무에게도 예수의 이름으로 말하지 말라고 그들에게 단단히 경고해 둡시다."
  3. 그리고 두 사도를 다시 불러들여 예수의 이름으로는 절대로 말하지도 말고 가르치지도 말라고 명령하였다.
  4. 그러나 베드로와 요한은 그들에게 "우리가 하느님의 말씀보다 당신들의 말을 듣는 것이 하느님 보시기에 옳은 일이겠는지 한번 판단해 보시오.
  5. 우리는 보고 들은 것을 말하지 않을 수가 없습니다." 하고 대답하였다.
  1. When they had threatened them further, they let them go (finding no basis on which to punish them) on account of the people, because they were all glorifying God for what had happened;
  2. for the man was more than forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed.
  3. When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
  4. And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, "O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM,
  5. who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, 'WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS?
  1. 그들은 백성들이 그 기적을 보고 모두 하느님을 찬양하고 있었기 때문에 두 사도를 처벌할 도리가 없어 다시 한 번 경고하고 나서 놓아주었다.
  2. 이 기적으로 몸이 성해진 사람은 마흔 살이 넘은 사람이었다.
  3. 풀려 나온 두 사도는 동료들에게 가서 대사제들과 원로들이 한 말을 그대로 전해 주었다.
  4. 동료들은 그 말을 듣고 일제히 큰소리로 하느님께 기도 드렸다. "하늘과 땅과 바다와 그 안에 있는 모든 것을 창조하신 주님,
  5. 주께서는 우리의 조상이며 주님의 종인 다윗의 입을 빌려 성령의 힘으로 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '어찌하여 이방인들이 떠들어대고 뭇 백성이 헛된 일을 꾸미는가?
  1. 'THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.'
  2. "For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,
  3. to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur.
  4. "And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,
  5. while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus."
  1. 주님을 거슬러, 그의 그리스도를 거슬러 세상의 왕들이 들고일어나고 군주들이 함께 작당하였다.'
  2. 과연 헤로데와 본티오 빌라도는 이 도성에서 이방인들과 이스라엘 백성과 작당하여 주께서 기름 부어 그리스도로 삼으신 주님의 거룩한 종 예수를 거슬렀습니다.
  3. 이리하여 주님의 권능과 뜻으로 미리 정해 두신 일들을 모두 이루었습니다.
  4. 주님, 지금 그들의 위협을 받고 있는 우리를 살피시고 주님의 이 종들로 하여금 조금도 굴하지 않고 주님의 말씀을 담대히 전할 수 있게 하여주십시오.
  5. 그리고 권능의 손을 펴시어 주님의 거룩하신 종 예수의 이름으로 병이 낫고 표징과 기적이 나타나게 하여주십시오."
  1. And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
  1. 그들이 기도를 다 마치자 모여 있던 곳이 흔들리고 사람들은 모두 성령으로 가득 차서 하느님의 말씀을 담대히 전하게 되었다.
 
  초대교회의 공동 생활(4:32-4:37)    
 
  1. And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them.
  2. And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.
  3. For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales
  4. and lay them at the apostles' feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.
  5. Now Joseph, a Levite of Cyprian birth, who was also called Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of Encouragement),
  1. 그 많은 신도들이 다 한마음 한 뜻이 되어 아무도 자기 소유를 자기 것이라고 하지 않고 모든 것을 공동으로 사용하였다.
  2. 사도들은 놀라운 기적을 나타내며 주 예수의 부활을 증언하였고 신도들은 모두 하느님의 크신 축복을 받았다.
  3. 그들 가운데 가난한 사람은 하나도 없었다. 땅이나 집을 가진 사람들이 그것을 팔아서 그 돈을
  4. 사도들 앞에 가져다 놓고 저마다 쓸 만큼 나누어 받았기 때문이다.
  5. 키프로스 태생의 레위 사람으로 사도들에게서 "위로의 아들"이라는 뜻인 바르나바라고 불리는 요셉도
  1. and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet.
  1. 자기 밭을 팔아 그 돈을 사도들 앞에 가져다 바쳤다.
