- Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him to death And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
- Some devout men buried Stephen, and made loud lamentation over him.
- But Saul began ravaging the church, entering house after house, and dragging off men and women, he would put them in prison.
- Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.
- Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Christ to them.

- 사울은 스데파노를 죽이는 일에 찬동하고 있었다.
- 경건한 사람 몇이 스데파노를 장사지내고 크게 통곡하며 그의 죽음을 슬퍼하였다.
- 한편 사울은 교회를 쓸어버리려고 집집마다 돌아다니며 남녀를 가리지 않고 끌어내어 모두 감옥에 처넣었다.
- 흩어져 간 신도들은 두루 돌아다니며 하느님의 말씀을 전하였다.
- 필립보는 사마리아의 한 도시로 내려가서 그리스도를 전하였다.

- The crowds with one accord were giving attention to what was said by Philip, as they heard and saw the signs which he was performing.
- For in the case of many who had unclean spirits, they were coming out of them shouting with a loud voice; and many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.
- So there was much rejoicing in that city.
- Now there was a man named Simon, who formerly was practicing magic in the city and astonishing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great;
- and they all, from smallest to greatest, were giving attention to him, saying, "This man is what is called the Great Power of God."

- 군중들은 필립보의 말을 듣고 또 그가 행하는 기적을 보고는 모두 하나같이 그가 하는 말에 귀를 기울였다.
- 많은 사람에게 붙었던 더러운 악령들이 큰소리를 지르며 나갔고 또 많은 중풍병자들과 불구자들이 깨끗이 나았기 때문이다.
- 그 도시의 사람들은 모두 기뻐하였다.
- 그 도시에는 전부터 시몬이라는 사람이 살고 있었는데 그는 마술로 사마리아 사람들을 매혹하며 스스로 위인 행세를 하고 있었다.
- 낮은 사람이나 높은 사람이나 모두 그에게 마음이 쏠려서 "이 사람이야말로 사람들이 '위대한 힘'이라고 부르는 하느님의 힘이다." 하고 말하였다.

- And they were giving him attention because he had for a long time astonished them with his magic arts.
- But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.
- Even Simon himself believed; and after being baptized, he continued on with Philip, and as he observed signs and great miracles taking place, he was constantly amazed.
- Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John,
- who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.

- 사람들의 마음이 이렇게 쏠린 것은 그가 오랫동안 마술로 그들을 매혹했기 때문이다.
- 그러나 필립보가 하느님 나라와 예수 그리스도의 이름을 전하자 남자 여자 할 것 없이 모두 그의 말을 믿고 세례를 받았으며
- 마침내는 시몬까지도 믿게 되었다. 시몬은 세례를 받은 뒤, 필립보를 따라다니며 많은 기적과 놀라운 일들이 일어나는 것을 보고는 깜짝 놀랐다.
- 예루살렘에 있는 사도들은 사마리아 사람들이 하느님의 말씀을 받아들였다는 말을 듣고 베드로와 요한을 그리로 보냈다.
- 베드로와 요한은 그리로 내려가서 사마리아 사람들이 성령을 받도록 기도하였다.

- For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
- Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.
- Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,
- saying, "Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit."
- But Peter said to him, "May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!

- 그들은 주 예수의 이름으로 세례는 받았지만 아직 성령은 받지 못했던 것이다.
- 베드로와 요한이 그들에게 손을 얹자 그들도 성령을 받게 되었다.
- 시몬은 사도들이 손을 얹어 성령을 받게 하는 것을 보고 사도들에게 돈을 내면서
- "나에게도 그런 권능을 주어 내가 손을 얹는 사람마다 성령을 받을 수 있게 해주십시오." 하고 청하였다.
- 베드로는 이렇게 대답하였다. "당신은 하느님의 선물을 돈으로 살 작정이오? 당신은 그 돈과 함께 망할 것이오.

- "You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.
- "Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you.
- "For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity."
- But Simon answered and said, "Pray to the Lord for me yourselves, so that nothing of what you have said may come upon me."
- So, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

- 하느님 보시기에 당신은 마음이 바르지 못하니 이 일에 끼여들 수 없소.
- 그러니 당신은 그 못된 생각을 뉘우치고 주님께 간구하시오. 혹시 마음에 품었던 생각을 하느님께서 용서해 주실지도 모르오.
- 내가 보기에 당신은 죄에 얽매여 마음이 고약해졌소."
- 그러자 시몬은 "당신들이 한 말이 나에게 미치지 않도록 나를 위해서 주님께 간구해 주십시오." 하고 말하였다.
- 두 사도는 거기에서 주님의 말씀을 전하며 증언한 뒤에 예루살렘으로 돌아갔다. 그리고 가는 길에 사마리아 여러 마을에서도 복음을 전파하였다.
