- For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
- For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God.
- For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope
- that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.
- For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

- 장차 우리에게 나타날 영광에 비추어보면 지금 우리가 겪고 있는 고통은 아무것도 아니라고 생각합니다.
- 모든 피조물은 하느님의 자녀가 나타나기를 간절히 기다리고 있습니다.
- 피조물이 제 구실을 못하게 된 것은 제 본의가 아니라 하느님께서 그렇게 만드신 것입니다. 그러나 거기에는 희망이 있습니다.
- 곧 피조물에게도 멸망의 사슬에서 풀려나서 하느님의 자녀들이 누리는 영광스러운 자유에 참여할 날이 올 것입니다.
- 우리는 모든 피조물이 오늘날까지 다 함께 신음하며 진통을 겪고 있다는 것을 알고 있습니다.

- And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
- For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?
- But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.
- In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
- and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

- 피조물만이 아니라 성령을 하느님의 첫 선물로 받은 우리 자신도 하느님의 자녀가 되는 날과 우리의 몸이 해방될 날을 고대하면서 속으로 신음하고 있습니다.
- 우리는 이 희망으로 구원을 받았습니다. 눈에 보이는 것을 바라는 것은 희망이 아닙니다. 눈에 보이는 것을 누가 바라겠습니까?
- 우리는 보이지 않는 것을 바라기에 참고 기다릴 따름입니다.
- 성령께서도 연약한 우리를 도와주십니다. 어떻게 기도해야 할지도 모르는 우리를 대신해서 말로 다 할 수 없을 만큼 깊이 탄식하시며 하느님께 간구해 주십니다.
- 이렇게 성령께서는 하느님의 뜻을 따라 성도들을 대신해서 간구해 주십니다. 그리고 마음속까지도 꿰뚫어 보시는 하느님께서는 그러한 성령의 생각을 잘 아십니다.

- And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
- For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
- and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
- What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
- He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

- 하느님을 사랑하는 사람들 곧 하느님의 계획에 따라 부르심을 받은 사람들에게는 모든 일이 서로 작용해서 좋은 결과를 이룬다는 것을 우리는 압니다.
- 하느님께서는 이미 오래 전에 택하신 사람들이 당신의 아들과 같은 모습을 가지도록 미리 정하셨습니다. 그래서 그리스도께서는 많은 형제 중에서 맏아들이 되셨습니다.
- 하느님께서는 미리 정하신 사람들을 불러주시고 부르신 사람들을 당신과 올바른 관계에 놓아주시고, 당신과 올바른 관계를 가진 사람들을 영광스럽게 해주셨습니다.
- 그러니 이제 무슨 말을 더 하겠습니까? 하느님께서 우리 편이 되셨으니 누가 감히 우리와 맞서겠습니까?
- 우리 모든 사람을 위하여 당신의 아들까지 아낌없이 내어주신 하느님께서 그 아들과 함께 무엇이든지 다 주시지 않겠습니까?

- Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies;
- who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
- Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
- Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED."
- But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

- 하느님께서 택하신 사람들을 누가 감히 고소하겠습니까? 그들에게 무죄를 선언하시는 분이 하느님이신데
- 누가 감히 그들을 단죄할 수 있겠습니까? 그리스도 예수께서 단죄하시겠습니까? 아닙니다. 그분은 우리를 위해서 돌아가셨을 뿐만 아니라 다시 살아나셔서 하느님 오른편에 앉아 우리를 위하여 대신 간구해 주시는 분이십니다.
- 누가 감히 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 떼어놓을 수 있겠습니까? 환난입니까? 역경입니까? 박해입니까? 굶주림입니까? 헐벗음입니까? 혹 위험이나 칼입니까?
- 우리의 처지는, "우리는 종일토록 당신을 위하여 죽어갑니다. 도살당할 양처럼 천대받습니다."라는 성서의 말씀대로입니다.
- 그러나 우리는 우리를 사랑하시는 그분의 도움으로 이 모든 시련을 이겨내고도 남습니다.

- For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
- nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

- 나는 확신합니다. 죽음도 생명도 천사들도 권세의 천신들도 현재의 것도 미래의 것도 능력의 천신들도
- 높음도 깊음도 그 밖의 어떤 피조물도 우리 주 그리스도 예수를 통하여 나타날 하느님의 사랑에서 우리를 떼어놓을 수 없습니다.
