역대하 26:1-28:27

 웃시야는 통치 초기에 하나님 보시기에 정직하게 행하여 형통케 되었으나, 후기에는 교만한 마음으로 제사장의 고유 역할인 성전의 분향 사역을 대신하려다가 하나님의 심판을 받아 문둥병으로 일생을 마쳤다. 요담은 하나님의 전 건축 사업에 힘썼으며, 바르게 행하여 강성하게 되었다. 그러나 그의 아들 아하스는 하나님 앞에서 우상 숭배를 행함으로써 하나님의 진노를 일으켰다.
  
  웃시야의 통치(26:1-26:23)    
 
  1. And all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
  2. He built Eloth and restored it to Judah after the king slept with his fathers.
  3. Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jechiliah of Jerusalem.
  4. He did right in the sight of the LORD according to all that his father Amaziah had done.
  5. He continued to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding through the vision of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God prospered him.
  1. 온 유다 백성이 십육 세밖에 되지 않은 우찌야를 택하여 왕으로 세워 아버지 아마지야의 뒤를 잇게 하였다.
  2. 그는 부왕이 세상을 떠난 다음 엘롯을 되찾아 유다의 성으로 다시 세웠다.
  3. 우찌야는 십육 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 오십이 년간 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 예루살렘 출신으로서 이름을 여골리야라고 하였다.
  4. 그는 부왕 아마지야 못지않게 야훼 보시기에 옳은 일을 하였다.
  5. 그의 곁에는 하느님을 공경하도록 깨우쳐주는 사람 즈가리야가 있었는데, 즈가리야 생전에 그는 하느님을 찾았고, 야훼를 찾았으며 그 동안 하느님께서는 그가 하는 일을 성취시켜 주셨다.
  1. Now he went out and warred against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath and the wall of Jabneh and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the area of Ashdod and among the Philistines.
  2. God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians who lived in Gur-baal, and the Meunites.
  3. The Ammonites also gave tribute to Uzziah, and his fame extended to the border of Egypt, for he became very strong.
  4. Moreover, Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate and at the Valley Gate and at the corner buttress and fortified them.
  5. He built towers in the wilderness and hewed many cisterns, for he had much livestock, both in the lowland and in the plain. He also had plowmen and vinedressers in the hill country and the fertile fields, for he loved the soil.
  1. 우찌야는 불레셋 사람들을 치려고 출동하여 갓 성과 야브네 성과 아스돗 성을 허물고는 아스돗을 비롯한 불레셋 지역에 성읍들을 세웠다.
  2. 그는 하느님의 도우심을 받아 불레셋인들과 구르바알에 사는 아랍인들과 므운인들을 쳤고
  3. 암몬인들에게서 조공을 받게 되니, 그의 명성이 이집트 땅에까지 떨쳤다. 그는 매우 막강해졌다.
  4. 또 우찌야는 예루살렘 모퉁이 성문과 골짜기 성문과 성 귀퉁이에 망대를 튼튼히 세웠다.
  5. 그는 야산 지대나 평야에 많은 짐승을 놓아 먹였다. 그는 또 흙을 사랑하는 사람이었으므로 사람들을 시켜 산악 지대나 기름진 땅에 농사를 짓고 과수도 가꾸게 하였다. 그러느라고 광야에도 망대들을 세우고 저수지들도 많이 파게 하였다.
  1. Moreover, Uzziah had an army ready for battle, which entered combat by divisions according to the number of their muster, prepared by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the official, under the direction of Hananiah, one of the king's officers.
  2. The total number of the heads of the households, of valiant warriors, was 2,600.
  3. Under their direction was an elite army of 307,500, who could wage war with great power, to help the king against the enemy.
  4. Moreover, Uzziah prepared for all the army shields, spears, helmets, body armor, bows and sling stones.
  5. In Jerusalem he made engines of war invented by skillful men to be on the towers and on the corners for the purpose of shooting arrows and great stones. Hence his fame spread afar, for he was marvelously helped until he was strong.
  1. 우찌야에게는 언제든지 싸우러 나갈 수 있는 상비군이 있었다. 그 상비군은 비서장 여이엘과 병적관 마아세야가 수를 세며 병적에 올려 부대를 편성하였고 왕의 직속 지휘관 중의 한 사람인 하나니야의 지휘를 받았다.
  2. 그 군대를 거느릴 각 가문 수령들은 모두 이천육백 명이었고
  3. 그들의 지휘 아래 왕을 도와 적을 무찌를 이 강력한 군대의 수는 모두 삼십만 칠천오백 명이나 되었다.
  4. 우찌야는 그들 전군에 방패, 창, 투구, 갑옷, 활, 물매를 마련해 주었고,
  5. 활을 쏘고 큰 돌을 던지는 무기를 기술자에게 고안시켜서 예루살렘 성 망대들과 성 귀퉁이마다 설치해 놓게 하였다. 이렇게 하여 그의 명성은 널리 떨쳤다. 그는 기이한 도우심을 받아 매우 강하게 되었던 것이다.
  1. But when he became strong, his heart was so proud that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful to the LORD his God, for he entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.
  2. Then Azariah the priest entered after him and with him eighty priests of the LORD, valiant men.
  3. They opposed Uzziah the king and said to him, "It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron who are consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have been unfaithful and will have no honor from the LORD God."
  4. But Uzziah, with a censer in his hand for burning incense, was enraged; and while he was enraged with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, beside the altar of incense.
  5. Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and behold, he was leprous on his forehead; and they hurried him out of there, and he himself also hastened to get out because the LORD had smitten him.
  1. 그러나 그는 제 힘만 믿고 교만해졌다가 자멸하고 말았다. 그는 야훼의 성전 본관에 들어가 분향단에다 분향하려고 하였다. 이것은 저를 보살펴 주시던 하느님 야훼를 거역하는 일이었다.
  2. 대사제 아자리야와 야훼의 용감한 사제 팔십 명이 뒤따라 들어가
  3. 우찌야 왕을 가로막고 말하였다. "우찌야, 야훼께 분향하는 일은 왕이 할 일이 아니오. 분향하는 일은 성별된 아론의 후손 사제들이 할 일이오. 이 성소에서 나가시오. 이렇게 하느님을 거역하셨으므로 야훼 하느님의 영광이 왕을 떠나시었소."
  4. 우찌야는 그 때 손에 향로를 들고 있었다. 그가 사제들에게 화를 내려고 하자 나병이 그의 이마에 번졌다. 그 사제들 앞에서, 야훼의 성전 안에서 그것도 바로 분향단 앞에서였다.
  5. 대사제 아자리야와 온 사제들은 그의 이마에 나병이 생긴 것을 보고 왕에게 당장 나가라고 하였다. 왕도 야훼께서 자기를 치신 줄 깨닫고 급히 물러나왔다.
  1. King Uzziah was a leper to the day of his death; and he lived in a separate house, being a leper, for he was cut off from the house of the LORD. And Jotham his son was over the king's house judging the people of the land.
  2. Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first to last, the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, has written.
  3. So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the grave which belonged to the kings, for they said, "He is a leper." And Jotham his son became king in his place.
  1. 우찌야 왕은 나병환자로 여생을 보내게 되었다. 야훼의 성전에 들어갈 수 없는 몸이 되었으므로 별궁에서 홀로 나병을 앓으며 지내야 했다. 그래서 그의 아들 요담이 왕궁의 어른이 되어 나라를 다스리게 되었다.
  2. 우찌야의 나머지 역사는 처음부터 끝까지 아모쓰의 아들 예언자 이사야가 기록해 두었다.
  3. 우찌야가 세상을 떠나자 나병환자라고 하여 그를 왕실 묘지에 딸린 뜰에 묻었다. 그의 아들 요담이 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.
 
  요담의 통치(27:1-27:9)    
 
  1. Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.
  2. He did right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah had done; however he did not enter the temple of the LORD. But the people continued acting corruptly.
  3. He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD, and he built extensively the wall of Ophel.
  4. Moreover, he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and he built fortresses and towers on the wooded hills.
  5. He fought also with the king of the Ammonites and prevailed over them so that the Ammonites gave him during that year one hundred talents of silver, ten thousand kors of wheat and ten thousand of barley. The Ammonites also paid him this amount in the second and in the third year.
  1. 요담은 이십오 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 십육 년간 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 사독의 딸로서 이름을 여루사라고 하였다.
  2. 그는 부왕 우찌야 못지않게 야훼 보시기에 옳은 일을 하였다. 다만 그는 야훼의 성전 본관에만은 들어가지 않았다. 백성들은 여전히 악한 짓을 하였다.
  3. 그는 야훼의 성전 윗문을 세웠고 오벨 성곽을 더욱 많이 쌓아올렸다.
  4. 또 유다 산악 지대에 성읍들을 세우고 산림 지대에 성채들과 망대들을 세웠다.
  5. 그리고 암몬 왕과 싸워 이기고는 그 해에 암몬 왕에게서 금 백 달란트와 밀 만 석, 보리 만 석을 받았다. 암몬 사람들은 그에게 다음해에도 또 그 다음해에도 이렇게 바쳤다.
  1. So Jotham became mighty because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.
  2. Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, even all his wars and his acts, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
  3. He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.
  4. And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Ahaz his son became king in his place.
  1. 요담은 자기 하느님 야훼의 뜻대로 자신 있게 처신했기 때문에 세력이 있었다.
  2. 요담이 벌인 모든 전쟁과 이룩한 행적 등 그의 나머지 역사는 이스라엘과 유다 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  3. 그는 이십오 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 십육 년을 다스리다가
  4. 세상을 떠나 다윗 성에 안장되었다. 그의 아들 아하즈가 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.
 
  아하스의 통치(28:1-28:27)    
 
  1. Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and he did not do right in the sight of the LORD as David his father had done.
  2. But he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel; he also made molten images for the Baals.
  3. Moreover, he burned incense in the valley of Ben-hinnom and burned his sons in fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD had driven out before the sons of Israel.
  4. He sacrificed and burned incense on the high places, on the hills and under every green tree.
  5. Wherefore, the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Aram; and they defeated him and carried away from him a great number of captives and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who inflicted him with heavy casualties.
  1. 아하즈는 이십 세에 왕위에 올라 예루살렘에서 십육 년간 다스렸다. 그는 태조 다윗처럼 야훼의 눈에 드는 바른 정치를 펴지 못하고
  2. 이스라엘 왕들의 전철을 밟아 우상을 부어 만들어 바알들을 섬기기까지 하였다.
  3. 그는 야훼께서 이스라엘 백성의 면전에서 쫓아낸 민족들의 역겨운 풍속을 본받아 벤힌놈 골짜기에서 친자식들을 불살라 제물로 바쳤으며
  4. 산당과 산마루에서, 또 우거진 나무 아래에서 분향하고 제사를 지냈다.
  5. 그래서 그를 보살피실 하느님 야훼께서 그를 시리아 왕의 손에 부치셨다. 시리아 군은 많은 사람을 사로잡아 가지고 다마스쿠스로 돌아갔다. 또 이스라엘 왕의 손에 부치시어 호되게 당하게 하셨다.
  1. For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah 120,000 in one day, all valiant men, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers.
  2. And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son and Azrikam the ruler of the house and Elkanah the second to the king.
  3. The sons of Israel carried away captive of their brethren 200,000 women, sons and daughters; and they took also a great deal of spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
  4. But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army which came to Samaria and said to them, "Behold, because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, He has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has even reached heaven.
  5. "Now you are proposing to subjugate for yourselves the people of Judah and Jerusalem for male and female slaves. Surely, do you not have transgressions of your own against the LORD your God?
  1. 르말리야의 아들 베가는 유다에서 하루에 장정 십이만 명을 죽였다. 선조들의 하느님 야훼를 저버린 탓으로 그런 일을 당했던 것이다.
  2. 에브라임의 영웅 지그리는 왕자 마아세야와 궁내대신 아즈리캄과 왕의 다음 서열인 엘카나를 죽였다.
  3. 동족인 이스라엘 군은 부녀자와 아이들을 이십만 명이나 사로잡고 재물을 많이 노략질하여 사마리아로 돌아갔다.
  4. 그런데 거기에는 오뎃이라는 야훼의 예언자가 있었다. 그는 사마리아로 개선하는 군대를 나가 맞으며 말하였다. "너희 선조들의 하느님 야훼께서 유다 백성의 일을 노여워하시어 그들을 너희 손에 부치셨다. 그리하여 너희는 하늘에 닿도록 분노를 터뜨리어 그들을 죽였다.
  5. 그리고 이제 너희는 유다인들과 예루살렘 시민들을 남자 여자 할 것 없이 종으로 부려먹을 생각을 하는구나! 너희는 너희 하느님 야훼께 범죄하지 않은 줄 아느냐?
  1. "Now therefore, listen to me and return the captives whom you captured from your brothers, for the burning anger of the LORD is against you."
  2. Then some of the heads of the sons of Ephraim--Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai--arose against those who were coming from the battle,
  3. and said to them, "You must not bring the captives in here, for you are proposing to bring upon us guilt against the LORD adding to our sins and our guilt; for our guilt is great so that His burning anger is against Israel."
  4. So the armed men left the captives and the spoil before the officers and all the assembly.
  5. Then the men who were designated by name arose, took the captives, and they clothed all their naked ones from the spoil; and they gave them clothes and sandals, fed them and gave them drink, anointed them with oil, led all their feeble ones on donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brothers; then they returned to Samaria.
  1. 이제 내 말을 들어라. 너희가 사로잡아 온 너희 동족을 돌려보내라. 야훼께서 너희가 한 일을 크게 노여워하시리라."
  2. 에브라임 백성의 어른들 가운데서 여호하난의 아들 아자리야, 므실레못의 아들 베레기야, 살룸의 아들 여히즈키야, 하들라이의 아들 아마사가 개선하는 군인들을 가로막으며
  3. 말하였다. "이 포로들을 데리고 들어올 수 없다. 이것은 야훼께 죄가 되는 일이다. 그렇지 않아도 죄가 많아 그의 진노가 이스라엘에 떨어질 판인데, 못할 일을 한 우리의 죄가 아직 부족하다고 생각하느냐?"
  4. 군인들은 포로들과 전리품을 장교들과 온 회중 앞에 내놓았다.
  5. 사람들은 포로들을 돌봐 줄 사람을 지명해서 전리품 가운데서 옷을 찾아내어 벌거벗은 사람들에게 입혀주고 신을 찾아 신겨줄 뿐 아니라 먹을 것과 마실 것을 주고 약을 발라주었다. 걸을 수 없는 사람들은 나귀에 태워 종려나무 성읍 예리고로 데려다가 친척들에게 돌려주고 사마리아로 돌아갔다.
  1. At that time King Ahaz sent to the kings of Assyria for help.
  2. For again the Edomites had come and attacked Judah and carried away captives.
  3. The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland and of the Negev of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, and Soco with its villages, Timnah with its villages, and Gimzo with its villages, and they settled there.
  4. For the LORD humbled Judah because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he had brought about a lack of restraint in Judah and was very unfaithful to the LORD.
  5. So Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria came against him and afflicted him instead of strengthening him.
  1. 아하즈 왕이 아시리아 왕들에게 도움을 청한 것도 그 때였다.
  2. 에돔 군이 다시 유다에 쳐들어와 사람들을 사로잡아 갔고
  3. 불레셋 군은 야산 지대와 유다 남부에 있는 성읍들을 털어갔으며 벳세메스, 아얄론, 그데롯, 소코와 거기에 딸린 촌락들과 딤나와 거기에 딸린 촌락들과 김조와 거기에 딸린 촌락들을 점령하고 살았다.
  4. 야훼께 반역하는 일만 하여 온 나라 일을 그르친 아하즈 왕 때문에 야훼께서는 유다를 꺾으셨던 것이다.
  5. 아시리아 왕 디글랏빌레셀도 왔지만 힘이 되어주기는커녕 도리어 포위 공격하였다.
  1. Although Ahaz took a portion out of the house of the LORD and out of the palace of the king and of the princes, and gave it to the king of Assyria, it did not help him.
  2. Now in the time of his distress this same King Ahaz became yet more unfaithful to the LORD.
  3. For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him, and said, "Because the gods of the kings of Aram helped them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me." But they became the downfall of him and all Israel.
  4. Moreover, when Ahaz gathered together the utensils of the house of God, he cut the utensils of the house of God in pieces; and he closed the doors of the house of the LORD and made altars for himself in every corner of Jerusalem.
  5. In every city of Judah he made high places to burn incense to other gods, and provoked the LORD, the God of his fathers, to anger.
  1. 그래서 아하즈는 야훼의 성전과 왕궁과 대신들의 집들을 털어 아시리아 왕에게 바쳤으나 헛된 일이었다.
  2. 이 아하즈 왕은 포위 공격을 당하게 되자 더욱더 야훼께 반역하였다.
  3. 그는 자기를 쳐부순 다마스쿠스의 신들에게 고사를 지냈다. "시리아 왕실의 신들은 제 백성을 도와줄 수 있었지. 그러니 나도 그 신들에게 고사를 지내야지. 그러면 도와주겠지." 이런 생각이었다. 그러나 그 때문에 아하즈와 온 이스라엘은 자멸하고 말았다.
  4. 아하즈는 하느님의 성전에서 기구들을 거두어 부수고 야훼의 성전 문들을 봉해 버렸다. 그리고 예루살렘 모퉁이마다에 제단을 만들어 세웠다.
  5. 또 유다의 성읍마다 산당을 세우고 남의 나라 신들에게 분향하게 하여 선조의 하느님 야훼를 진노케 하였다.
  1. Now the rest of his acts and all his ways, from first to last, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.
  2. So Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, in Jerusalem, for they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Israel; and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
  1. 그의 나머지 역사와 모든 행적은 처음부터 끝까지 유다와 이스라엘의 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  2. 아하즈가 세상을 떠나자 유다 왕실 묘지에 모시지 않고 예루살렘 성 안에 모셨다. 그의 아들 히즈키야가 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.
