역대하 31:1-32:33

 히스기야는 전국에 있는 우상을 없애고, 성전 일을 맡은 제사장과 레위인의 직책을 회복시킨 후 보수 규정을 마련하여 그 직책을 안정시켰다. 그리고 십일조와 예물의 효과적 관리 분배로 불필요한 낭비를 방지하였다. 또한 히스기야는 앗수르 왕 산헤립이 유다를 침략했지만 하나님의 도우심으로 그들을 물리쳤다.
  
  히스기야의 종교 개혁(31:1-31:21)    
 
  1. Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah, broke the pillars in pieces, cut down the Asherim and pulled down the high places and the altars throughout all Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the sons of Israel returned to their cities, each to his possession.
  2. And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites by their divisions, each according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister and to give thanks and to praise in the gates of the camp of the LORD.
  3. He also appointed the king's portion of his goods for the burnt offerings, namely, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths and for the new moons and for the fixed festivals, as it is written in the law of the LORD.
  4. Also he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might devote themselves to the law of the LORD.
  5. As soon as the order spread, the sons of Israel provided in abundance the first fruits of grain, new wine, oil, honey and of all the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the tithe of all.
  1. 이 일이 끝나자 거기에 있던 이스라엘 백성은 모두 유다 성읍들을 찾아 다니며 석상을 부수고 아세라 목상을 찍어내고 제단과 산당들을 허물었다. 유다, 베냐민, 에브라임, 므나쎄에서 이것들을 모두 없애버린 다음 온 이스라엘 백성은 각기 자기네 농토가 있는 성읍으로 돌아갔다.
  2. 히즈키야는 사제와 레위인들을 반을 짜서 일을 맡겼다. 사제와 레위인들을 번제 맡은 반, 친교제 맡은 반, 감사와 찬양을 부르는 반, 야훼의 성전 문을 지키는 반에 넣어 일하게 하였다.
  3. 왕은 개인 소유에서 번제로 바칠 것을 떼어냈다. 야훼의 법에 적혀 있는 대로 아침 저녁으로 바치는 번제, 안식일과 초하루와 절기에 바치는 번제를 떼어내 놓고
  4. 사제들과 레위인들에게는 야훼의 법만 지키는 데 전념할 수 있도록 분깃을 주라고 예루살렘 시민을 비롯한 백성들에게 명령하였다.
  5. 명령이 떨어지자 곧 이스라엘 백성들은 곡식, 포도주, 기름, 꿀, 그 밖의 모든 밭 소출의 맏물을 넉넉하게 가져왔다. 그리고 모든 것의 십분의 일세를 가져왔다.
  1. The sons of Israel and Judah who lived in the cities of Judah also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of sacred gifts which were consecrated to the LORD their God, and placed them in heaps.
  2. In the third month they began to make the heaps, and finished them by the seventh month.
  3. When Hezekiah and the rulers came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD and His people Israel.
  4. Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.
  5. Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok said to him, "Since the contributions began to be brought into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat with plenty left over, for the LORD has blessed His people, and this great quantity is left over."
  1. 유다 성읍들에 살고 있던 이스라엘 백성과 유다 백성들도 소와 양의 십분의 일세를 가져왔고, 그 밖의 다른 것의 십분의 일세도 가져다가 저희의 하느님 야훼께 성별해 바쳤다. 이렇게 가져온 것을 차곡차곡 쌓아두었다.
  2. 쌓기 시작한 것이 삼월이었는데, 끝낸 것은 칠월이었다.
  3. 히즈키야는 대신들을 거느리고 그것이 쌓여 있는 곳을 가서 보고 야훼를 기리며 야훼의 백성 이스라엘을 칭찬하였다.
  4. 그리고 히즈키야는 사제들과 레위인들에게 이렇게 쌓이게 된 경위를 물었다.
  5. 사독 가문 출신 대사제 아자리야가 대답하였다. "예물을 가져오게 되면서부터 모두 배불리 먹고도 이렇게 많이 남았습니다. 이렇게 많이 남은 것은 야훼께서 백성에게 복을 내리셨기 때문입니다."
  1. Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare rooms in the house of the LORD, and they prepared them.
  2. They faithfully brought in the contributions and the tithes and the consecrated things; and Conaniah the Levite was the officer in charge of them and his brother Shimei was second.
  3. Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath and Benaiah were overseers under the authority of Conaniah and Shimei his brother by the appointment of King Hezekiah, and Azariah was the chief officer of the house of God.
  4. Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the keeper of the eastern gate, was over the freewill offerings of God, to apportion the contributions for the LORD and the most holy things.
  5. Under his authority were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah and Shecaniah in the cities of the priests, to distribute faithfully their portions to their brothers by divisions, whether great or small,
  1. 히즈키야는 야훼의 성전에 방을 몇 개 준비하라고 지시하였다. 그대로 방이 준비되자,
  2. 사람들은 예물과 십분의 일세와 그 밖에 거룩하게 바칠 것을 정직하게 그 곳으로 가져왔다. 이것을 책임진 사람은 레위인 고나니야였고 부책임자는 그와 일가인 시므이였다.
  3. 히즈키야 왕과 하느님의 성전 책임자 아자리야는 고나니야와 그의 일가인 시므이를 도울 사람으로서 여히엘, 아자지야, 나핫, 아사헬, 여리못, 요자밧, 엘리엘, 이스마기야, 마핫, 브나야를 임명하였다.
  4. 또 동쪽 문을 지키는 레위인 임나의 아들 코레를 임명하여 하느님께 바칠 자원제물을 맡겼다. 그가 할 일은 야훼께 바친 예물과 거룩한 것 중에서도 거룩한 것을 나누어주는 일이었다.
  5. 그의 밑에 에덴, 미냐민, 예수아, 스마야, 아마리야, 스가니야를 두어 사제들이 사는 성읍들에서 같은 일가 사람들에게 높은 사람 낮은 사람을 구별하지 않고 반을 따라 공정하게 나누어주도록 하였다.
  1. without regard to their genealogical enrollment, to the males from thirty years old and upward--everyone who entered the house of the LORD for his daily obligations--for their work in their duties according to their divisions;
  2. as well as the priests who were enrolled genealogically according to their fathers' households, and the Levites from twenty years old and upwards, by their duties and their divisions.
  3. The genealogical enrollment included all their little children, their wives, their sons and their daughters, for the whole assembly, for they consecrated themselves faithfully in holiness.
  4. Also for the sons of Aaron the priests who were in the pasture lands of their cities, or in each and every city, there were men who were designated by name to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to everyone genealogically enrolled among the Levites.
  5. Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah; and he did what was good, right and true before the LORD his God.
  1. 삼십 세 이상, 등록된 남자로서 야훼의 성전에 들어가서 날마다 반을 따라 맡은 일을 하고 있는 사람들에게는 별도로 나누어주게 되어 있었다.
  2. 사제들은 가문별로 등록시켰고 레위인들은 이십 세 이상 되는 사람을 직무별, 반별로 등록시켰다.
  3. 이 큰 집단에도 아내와 아들딸 등 딸린 식구들이 있었는데 부정을 벗고 거룩한 것을 받아야 하기 때문에 그들도 등록시켰다.
  4. 아론의 후손으로서 저희의 성읍에 딸린 목장에서 지내는 사제들을 책임질 사람은 성읍마다 따로 지명되었다. 이들은 사제들 집안 모든 남자들과 레위인으로 등록된 모든 사람에게 분깃을 나누어주는 일을 맡은 사람들이다.
  5. 히즈키야는 유다 전국에서 해야 할 일을 이렇게 정리하여 자기 하느님 야훼의 눈에 들도록 좋고 바르고 정직한 정치를 폈다.
  1. Every work which he began in the service of the house of God in law and in commandment, seeking his God, he did with all his heart and prospered.
  1. 그는 하느님의 성전에서 예배 드리기 시작하였고 하느님의 법과 계명을 지켜 자기 하느님의 뜻을 이루려고 하였다. 무슨 일을 하든지 그는 마음을 다 쏟았다. 그래서 하는 일마다 뜻대로 되었다.
 
  산헤립의 침략(32:1-32:33)    
 
  1. After these acts of faithfulness Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and besieged the fortified cities, and thought to break into them for himself.
  2. Now when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and that he intended to make war on Jerusalem,
  3. he decided with his officers and his warriors to cut off the supply of water from the springs which were outside the city, and they helped him.
  4. So many people assembled and stopped up all the springs and the stream which flowed through the region, saying, "Why should the kings of Assyria come and find abundant water?"
  5. And he took courage and rebuilt all the wall that had been broken down and erected towers on it, and built another outside wall and strengthened the Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in great number.
  1. 이렇게 모든 일을 성심껏 이루어놓은 다음이었다. 아시리아 왕 산헤립이 유다로 쳐들어와서 요새화된 성읍들을 치려고 포진하고는 그 성읍들을 제 손아귀에 넣고 말겠다고 장담하였다.
  2. 그러나 산헤립이 쳐들어온 것은 예루살렘을 공격하려는 데 뜻이 있는 줄 알고, 히즈키야는
  3. 대신들과 장군을 불러 의논하고 성 밖에 있는 샘들을 메워버리기로 하였다. 왕은 그들의 도움을 받아
  4. 많은 사람을 모아들여 샘들을 메워버리고 들판 한가운데를 흐르는 물줄기를 막아버렸다. 그들은 "아시리아 왕들이 와서 물을 얼마든지 마시도록 내버려둘 줄 아느냐?" 하고 말하였다.
  5. 히즈키야는 용기를 내어 허물어진 성곽을 수축하고 망대들을 높이고 성 밖에 또 성을 쌓고 다윗 성의 밀로를 수축하였다. 그리고 창을 많이 만들고 방패들도 만들었다.
  1. He appointed military officers over the people and gathered them to him in the square at the city gate, and spoke encouragingly to them, saying,
  2. "Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria nor because of all the horde that is with him; for the one with us is greater than the one with him.
  3. "With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
  4. After this Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem while he was besieging Lachish with all his forces with him, against Hezekiah king of Judah and against all Judah who were at Jerusalem, saying,
  5. "Thus says Sennacherib king of Assyria, 'On what are you trusting that you are remaining in Jerusalem under siege?
  1. 이어서 군대를 지휘할 전투사령관들을 임명한 다음 군대를 성문 광장에 불러모으고 격려해 주었다.
  2. "마음을 든든히 먹고 용기를 내어라. 아시리아 왕이 대군을 끌고 온다고 하여도 그 앞에서 두려워 떨지 마라. 그의 편이 되어줄 힘보다는 우리 편이 되어줄 힘이 더 크다.
  3. 그에게는 무력이 있을 뿐이지만 우리에게는 우리 하느님 야훼께서 함께 계시어 우리를 도와 우리의 싸움을 싸워주신다." 사람들은 유다 왕 히즈키야의 말을 듣고 안심하였다.
  4. 그 후에 아시리아 왕 산헤립은 전군을 거느리고 라기스를 공격하면서 부하들을 예루살렘으로 보내어 유다 왕 히즈키야와 예루살렘에 있는 온 유다인들에게 다음과 같은 말을 전하였다.
  5. "아시리아 왕 산헤립이 하는 말이다. 예루살렘은 독 안에 든 쥐다. 너희는 무엇을 믿고 그 속에서 버티느냐?
  1. 'Is not Hezekiah misleading you to give yourselves over to die by hunger and by thirst, saying, "The LORD our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria"?
  2. 'Has not the same Hezekiah taken away His high places and His altars, and said to Judah and Jerusalem, "You shall worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn incense"?
  3. 'Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands able at all to deliver their land from my hand?
  4. 'Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed who could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand?
  5. 'Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you like this, and do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?'"
  1. 히즈키야는 야훼 너희 하느님이 너희를 아시리아 왕의 손아귀에서 건져주리라고 하지만, 그 말에 속지 마라. 그 말을 믿다가는 굶주리고 목말라 죽을 것이다.
  2. 유다인들과 예루살렘 시민들에게 한 제단에서만 제물을 살라 바치며 그 앞에서만 예배를 드리라고 하며 산당들과 제단들을 헐어버린 것이 바로 히즈키야가 아니더냐?
  3. 나와 나의 선친들이 온 세상, 뭇 백성을 어떻게 했는지 너희는 모르느냐? 세상의 어느 민족의 신이 제 나라를 내 손에서 건져내었느냐?
  4. 나의 선친들이 전멸시키기로 한 민족들의 신들 가운데 어떤 신이 제 백성을 내 손에서 건져내었느냐? 너희 신인들 어찌 너희를 내 손에서 건져내겠느냐?
  5. 이제 너희는 히즈키야의 꾐에 빠지지 마라. 아무리 속이려고 해도 속지 마라. 그를 믿지 마라. 어떤 민족, 어떤 나라의 신도 자기 백성을 내 손에서, 내 선친들의 손에서 건져내지 못하였다. 너희 신인들 어찌 너희를 내 손에서 건져내겠느냐?"
  1. His servants spoke further against the LORD God and against His servant Hezekiah.
  2. He also wrote letters to insult the LORD God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, "As the gods of the nations of the lands have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand."
  3. They called this out with a loud voice in the language of Judah to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten and terrify them, so that they might take the city.
  4. They spoke of the God of Jerusalem as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, the work of men's hands.
  5. But King Hezekiah and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, prayed about this and cried out to heaven.
  1. 산헤립의 신하들은 계속하여 야훼 하느님과 그의 종 히즈키야에게 악담을 퍼부었다.
  2. 또 산헤립은 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼를 모욕하는 편지를 써서 보내었다. 그 내용은 이러하였다. "세상 뭇 민족의 어느 신들도 제 백성을 내 손에서 건져내지 못하였다. 히즈키야의 신도 제 백성을 내 손에서 건져내지 못하리라."
  3. 그들은 예루살렘 성 위에 있는 군인들에게 유다 말로 크게 외쳤다. 간담이 서늘하게 겁을 주어 성을 공략할 속셈이었던 것이다.
  4. 그들은 세상 뭇 민족이 손으로 만들어놓고 섬기는 신들을 욕하듯이 예루살렘의 하느님을 욕하였다.
  5. 이런 일을 당하게 되자 히즈키야 왕은 아모쓰의 아들 예언자 이사야와 함께 기도하였다. 하늘을 우러러보고 울부짖었다.
  1. And the LORD sent an angel who destroyed every mighty warrior, commander and officer in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned in shame to his own land. And when he had entered the temple of his god, some of his own children killed him there with the sword.
  2. So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria and from the hand of all others, and guided them on every side.
  3. And many were bringing gifts to the LORD at Jerusalem and choice presents to Hezekiah king of Judah, so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations thereafter.
  4. In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill; and he prayed to the LORD, and the LORD spoke to him and gave him a sign.
  5. But Hezekiah gave no return for the benefit he received, because his heart was proud; therefore wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
  1. 그러자 야훼께서는 천사를 보내시어 아시리아 왕의 진지에 있는 지휘관과 사령관 이하 전군을 쓸어버리셨다. 아시리아 왕은 부끄러워 얼굴도 들지 못하고 돌아가 자기 신전에 들어갔다가 거기에서 친자식들의 칼에 맞아 죽고 말았다.
  2. 이렇게 야훼께서 히즈키야와 예루살렘 시민들을 아시리아 왕 산헤립의 손에서뿐 아니라 모든 원수들의 손에서 건져주시고 사방으로 태평성세를 누리게 해주시니,
  3. 예루살렘으로 예물을 가져다 야훼께 바치고 유다 왕 히즈키야에게 값진 선물을 가져오는 사람이 많았다. 그 후로 모든 민족들은 히즈키야를 우러르게 되었다.
  4. 그렇게 지내던 어느 날 히즈키야는 병이 들어 죽게 되었다. 그래서 야훼께 빌자 야훼께서는 기도를 들으시고 고쳐주겠다는 말씀을 내리셨다. 그러나
  5. 히즈키야는 건방진 생각이 들어 있던 터이라 그 은덕에 보답하지 않았다. 그 때문에 자기뿐 아니라 유다와 예루살렘도 화를 입게 되었다.
  1. However, Hezekiah humbled the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.
  2. Now Hezekiah had immense riches and honor; and he made for himself treasuries for silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuable articles,
  3. storehouses also for the produce of grain, wine and oil, pens for all kinds of cattle and sheepfolds for the flocks.
  4. He made cities for himself and acquired flocks and herds in abundance, for God had given him very great wealth.
  5. It was Hezekiah who stopped the upper outlet of the waters of Gihon and directed them to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all that he did.
  1. 히즈키야는 건방진 생각을 품었던 일을 뉘우치고 머리를 숙였다. 동시에 예루살렘 시민들도 그리 하였다. 그리하여 히즈키야 생전에는 야훼의 진노가 내리지 않았다.
  2. 히즈키야는 굉장한 부귀와 영화를 누렸다. 금은보석과 향유와 방패와 그 밖의 온갖 값진 세간을 보관할 창고들,
  3. 밭곡식과 술과 기름을 저장해 둘 곳간들을 짓고, 모든 가축들과 양떼를 위하여 우리들을 세워야 했다.
  4. 또 그 많은 양과 소를 건사하는 성읍들을 세웠다. 그토록 많은 재물을 하느님께 받았던 것이다.
  5. 기혼 샘 윗쪽 물줄기를 막고 땅을 뚫어 그 물을 감쪽같이 다윗 성 서쪽으로 해서 성 안으로 끌어들인 것도 바로 히즈키야였다. 히즈키야는 무슨 일을 하여도 뜻대로 되었다.
  1. Even in the matter of the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him alone only to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.
  2. Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah and his deeds of devotion, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.
  3. So Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the upper section of the tombs of the sons of David; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem honored him at his death. And his son Manasseh became king in his place.
  1. 이 나라에서 하느님의 도움으로 일어난 기적이 어떤 것들인지 알아보고 히즈키야의 마음을 떠보라고 바빌론 왕이 사절단을 보냈을 때에도 그랬다.
  2. 충성스럽게 산 히즈키야의 나머지 역사는 아모쓰의 아들 예언자 이사야의 예언서와 유다와 이스라엘의 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.
  3. 히즈키야가 세상을 떠나자 사람들은 그를 다윗의 후손 묘소 맨 윗자리에 모시었다. 그가 죽은 다음에 온 유다 국민과 예루살렘 시민은 이토록 그를 높였다. 그의 아들 므나쎄가 그의 뒤를 이어 왕위에 올랐다.
