욥기 23:1-26:14

 욥은 엘리바스의 답변에 탄식하면서, 하나님께서 결백한 자신의 호소에 답변해 주실 것을 간구하였다. 그리고 악인들의 최후에 관하여 말한 후, 그들을 놓아 두시는 하나님의 섭리에 의문을 표시하였다. 이에 대하여 빌닷은 하나님의 권능과 위엄을 말하면서 하나님 앞에서 의롭고 깨끗한 사람은 없다고 하였다.
  
  욥의 대답(23:1-24:25)    
 
  1. Then Job replied,
  2. "Even today my complaint is rebellion; His hand is heavy despite my groaning.
  3. "Oh that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come to His seat!
  4. "I would present my case before Him And fill my mouth with arguments.
  5. "I would learn the words which He would answer, And perceive what He would say to me.
  1. 욥이 말을 받는다.
  2. 오늘 또 이 억울한 마음 털어놓지 않을 수 없고 그의 육중한 손에 눌려 신음 소리조차 내지 못하겠구나.
  3. 그가 어디 계신지 알기만 하면, 당장에 찾아가서
  4. 나의 정당함을 진술하겠네. 반증할 말도 궁하지는 않으련만.
  5. 그가 무슨 말로 답변하실지를 꼭 알아야겠기에 그 하시는 말을 하나도 놓치지 않고 들어야겠네.
  1. "Would He contend with me by the greatness of His power? No, surely He would pay attention to me.
  2. "There the upright would reason with Him; And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.
  3. "Behold, I go forward but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
  4. When He acts on the left, I cannot behold Him; He turns on the right, I cannot see Him.
  5. "But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
  1. 그가 온 힘을 기울여 나를 논박하실까? 아니, 나의 말을 듣기만 하시겠지.
  2. 그러면 나의 옳았음을 아시게 될 것이고 나는 나대로 승소할 수 있을 것일세.
  3. 그런데 앞으로 가보아도 계시지 않고 뒤를 돌아보아도 보이지 않는구나.
  4. 왼쪽으로 가서 찾아도 눈에 뜨이지 아니하고 오른쪽으로 눈을 돌려도 보이지 않는구나.
  5. 그런데도 그는 나의 걸음을 낱낱이 아시다니. 털고 또 털어도 나는 순금처럼 깨끗하리라.
  1. "My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.
  2. "I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
  3. "But He is unique and who can turn Him? And what His soul desires, that He does.
  4. "For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such decrees are with Him.
  5. "Therefore, I would be dismayed at His presence; When I consider, I am terrified of Him.
  1. 나의 발은 그의 발길을 따라 그가 가시는 길을 한 발짝도 벗어나지 않았네.
  2. 그의 입술에서 흘러나온 계명은 저버린 일이 없으며 그의 입에서 나온 말은 마음 깊숙이 간직해 두었네.
  3. 그러나 그가 결정하시면 아무도 돌이킬 수 없고 그가 계획하시면 기어이 이루어지고야 마는 것,
  4. 그의 모든 계획이 다 시행되었듯이 나에게 내리신 형도 집행하시겠지.
  5. 그러니 어찌 그의 앞에 나서는 것이 두렵지 않겠는가? 생각만 해도 떨리는구나.
  1. "It is God who has made my heart faint, And the Almighty who has dismayed me,
  2. But I am not silenced by the darkness, Nor deep gloom which covers me.
  1. 하느님 앞에서는 가슴이 철렁 내려앉고 전능하신 분 앞에서는 간담이 서늘해지는구나.
  2. 차라리 온통 어둠에 싸여, 나의 얼굴이여, 흑암 속에 묻혀라.
 
 
  1. "Why are times not stored up by the Almighty, And why do those who know Him not see His days?
  2. "Some remove the landmarks; They seize and devour flocks.
  3. "They drive away the donkeys of the orphans; They take the widow's ox for a pledge.
  4. "They push the needy aside from the road; The poor of the land are made to hide themselves altogether.
  5. "Behold, as wild donkeys in the wilderness They go forth seeking food in their activity, As bread for their children in the desert.
  1. 전능하신 분께서 어찌하여 재판날을 밝히시지 않는가? 그와 가까운 자에게 어찌하여 그 날을 감추시는가?
  2. 악한 자들은 지계표를 멋대로 옮기고 남의 양떼를 몰아다가 제 것인 양 길러도 좋고
  3. 고아들의 나귀를 끌어가고 과부의 소를 저당잡아도 되는가.
  4. 가난한 사람들을 길에서 밀쳐내니 흙에 묻혀 사는 천더기들은 아예 숨어야 하는가.
  5. 들나귀처럼 일거리를 찾아 나가는 모습을 보게. 행여나 자식들에게 줄 양식이라도 있을까 하여 광야에서 먹이를 찾아 헤매는 저 모양을 보게.
  1. "They harvest their fodder in the field And glean the vineyard of the wicked.
  2. "They spend the night naked, without clothing, And have no covering against the cold.
  3. "They are wet with the mountain rains And hug the rock for want of a shelter.
  4. "Others snatch the orphan from the breast, And against the poor they take a pledge.
  5. "They cause the poor to go about naked without clothing, And they take away the sheaves from the hungry.
  1. 악당들의 밭에서 무엇을 좀 거두어보고 악인의 포도밭에서 남은 것을 줍는 가련한 신세,
  2. 걸칠 옷도 없이 알몸으로 밤을 새우고 덮을 것도 없이 오들오들 떨어야 하는 몸,
  3. 산에서 쏟아지는 폭우에 흠뻑 젖었어도 숨을 곳도 없어 바위에나 매달리는 불쌍한 저 모습을 보게.
  4. 아비 없는 자식을 젖가슴에서 떼어내고 빈민의 젖먹이를 저당잡아도 괜찮은가,
  5. 걸칠 옷도 없이 알몸으로 나들이를 해야 하고 빈 창자를 움켜잡고 남의 곡식단을 날라야 하는 신세,
  1. "Within the walls they produce oil; They tread wine presses but thirst.
  2. "From the city men groan, And the souls of the wounded cry out; Yet God does not pay attention to folly.
  3. "Others have been with those who rebel against the light; They do not want to know its ways Nor abide in its paths.
  4. "The murderer arises at dawn; He kills the poor and the needy, And at night he is as a thief.
  5. "The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, Saying, 'No eye will see me.' And he disguises his face.
  1. 악인들의 돌담 사이에서 기름을 짜며 포도 짜는 술틀을 밟으면서 목은 타오르고
  2. 죽어가는 자의 신음 소리와 얻어맞아 숨이 넘어갈 듯 외치는 소리가 도시마다 사무치는데 하느님은 그들의 호소를 들은 체도 아니하시네.
  3. 악인은 떳떳한 생활을 꺼려하여 밝은 길을 알아보려고도 하지 않고
  4. 그 길을 따라 살려고도 않는 자들, 해만 지면 살인자가 활개를 치며 빈민과 가난한 자들을 죽이려 찾아다니고 밤만 되면 도둑이 판을 치는 세상,
  5. 남의 아내를 넘보는 눈은 어둠을 기다리며 "아무도 나를 보지 못한다." 하며 얼굴을 가리는 무리,
  1. "In the dark they dig into houses, They shut themselves up by day; They do not know the light.
  2. "For the morning is the same to him as thick darkness, For he is familiar with the terrors of thick darkness.
  3. "They are insignificant on the surface of the water; Their portion is cursed on the earth They do not turn toward the vineyards.
  4. "Drought and heat consume the snow waters, So does Sheol those who have sinned.
  5. "A mother will forget him; The worm feeds sweetly till he is no longer remembered And wickedness will be broken like a tree.
  1. 어둠을 타서 남의 집을 뚫고 들어가며 낮이면 틀어 박히는, 모든 빛을 외면한 족속,
  2. 한밤중이 그들에게는 아침인가 짙은 어둠 속에서 온갖 무서운 일을 자행하는 무리.
  1. "He wrongs the barren woman And does no good for the widow.
  2. "But He drags off the valiant by His power; He rises, but no one has assurance of life.
  3. "He provides them with security, and they are supported; And His eyes are on their ways.
  4. "They are exalted a little while, then they are gone; Moreover, they are brought low and like everything gathered up; Even like the heads of grain they are cut off.
  5. "Now if it is not so, who can prove me a liar, And make my speech worthless?"
  5. 그렇지 않은가? 내가 거짓말쟁이요, 허풍이나 떠는 자임을 증명할 사람 있거든 나서게.
 
  빌닷의 세번째 충고(25:1-26:14)    
 
  1. Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
  2. "Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishes peace in His heights.
  3. "Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise?
  4. "How then can a man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of woman?
  5. "If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight,
  1. 수아 사람 빌닷이 말을 받았다.
  2. 그가 다스리시는데 어찌 두렵지 않겠는가! 그는 하늘 높은 곳에서 평화를 펴시는 분,
  3. 그의 군대는 이루 헤아릴 수 없으니 그의 복병의 공격을 누가 피하겠는가?
  4. 하느님 앞에서 그 누가 죄없다 하겠는가? 여인에게서 난 사람이 어찌 순결할 수 있겠는가?
  5. 그의 눈에는 달빛도 빛이라고 할 수 없고 별들도 맑다고 할 수 없는데
  1. How much less man, that maggot, And the son of man, that worm!"
  1. 하물며 구더기 같은 인생이랴. 벌레 같은 사람이랴!
 
 
  1. Then Job responded,
  2. "What a help you are to the weak! How you have saved the arm without strength!
  3. "What counsel you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!
  4. "To whom have you uttered words? And whose spirit was expressed through you?
  5. "The departed spirits tremble Under the waters and their inhabitants.
  1. 욥이 말을 받았다.
  2. 자네는 맥빠진 사람을 잘도 돕고 힘없이 늘어진 팔을 잘도 잡아주는군.
  3. 어리석은 자를 잘도 깨우쳐주고 묘한 길을 잘도 가르쳐주는군.
  4. 자네가 하는 말은 누구에게서 들은 말인가? 자네가 내쉬는 숨결은 도대체 누구의 숨결인가?
  5. 저 땅 밑에서 그림자처럼 흐느적거리는 자들, 바다와 그 속에 갇혀 있는 자들이 어찌 떨지 않으랴!
  1. "Naked is Sheol before Him, And Abaddon has no covering.
  2. "He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.
  3. "He wraps up the waters in His clouds, And the cloud does not burst under them.
  4. "He obscures the face of the full moon And spreads His cloud over it.
  5. "He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters At the boundary of light and darkness.
  1. 그의 앞에서는 저승도 벌거숭이, 죽음의 나라도 그대로 드러나네.
  2. 북녘에 있는 당신의 거처를 공허 위에 세우시고 땅덩어리를 허공에 달아놓으신 이,
  3. 뭉게구름으로 물을 싸두셨는데 그 물의 무게에 구름이 터지는 일도 없네.
  4. 구름을 밑에 깔아 당신의 보좌를 가리시고
  5. 물의 표면에 둥근 금을 그으시어 빛이 끝나고 어둠이 시작되는 곳을 표시하셨네.
  1. "The pillars of heaven tremble And are amazed at His rebuke.
  2. "He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.
  3. "By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.
  4. "Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?"
  1. 하느님께서 꾸짖으시면 하늘을 받친 기둥들이 놀라 흔들거리니
  2. 그의 힘은 바다를 잠잠케 하셨고 그의 슬기는 라합을 쳐부쉈네.
  3. 그의 콧김으로 하늘은 개고 레비아단은 도망치다가 그의 손에 찔려 죽었네.
  4. 그러나 이런 것은 거니시는 그의 옷자락 소리, 들리는 듯 마는 듯하는 그의 음성, 그런데 그의 벽력 같은 소리를 누가 알아들을 것인가?
