욥기 30:1-31:40

 욥은 현재 환난 가운데 있는 자신은 사람들의 조롱거리가 되었다고 비통하게 노래하면서, 하나님께서 자신을 고통 가운데 있게 하셨다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님께 부르짖으나 하나님께서 대답하지 아니하시므로 자신은 애통한 상태에 있다고 하면서, 하나님께서 자신의 정직함을 알기를 원하며 자신에게 대답해 주시기를 간구하였다.
  
  계속되는 욥의 독백(30:1-31:40)    
 
  1. "But now those younger than I mock me, Whose fathers I disdained to put with the dogs of my flock.
  2. "Indeed, what good was the strength of their hands to me? Vigor had perished from them.
  3. "From want and famine they are gaunt Who gnaw the dry ground by night in waste and desolation,
  4. Who pluck mallow by the bushes, And whose food is the root of the broom shrub.
  5. "They are driven from the community; They shout against them as against a thief,
  1. 그런데 이제 나보다 어린것들에게 웃음거리가 되었구나. 그 아비들은 내 양떼를 지키는 개들과도 함께 있을 수 없다고 여겼었는데......
  2. 그들의 맥이 다 빠져버렸는데 그 손의 힘이 나에게 무슨 소용이 있을 것인가?
  3. 먹지 못해 굶주려 말라 비틀어지고 메마른 흙이나 씹으며 거친 들을 파먹고
  4. 덤불 속에서 자라는 짠나물과 대싸리 뿌리로 겨우 연명하며
  5. "도둑이야!" 하는 고함 소리에 쫓기는 도둑처럼 인간 세상에서 쫓겨나던 그들,
  1. So that they dwell in dreadful valleys, In holes of the earth and of the rocks.
  2. "Among the bushes they cry out; Under the nettles they are gathered together.
  3. "Fools, even those without a name, They were scourged from the land.
  4. "And now I have become their taunt, I have even become a byword to them.
  5. "They abhor me and stand aloof from me, And they do not refrain from spitting at my face.
  1. 급류에 팬 골짜기 벼랑에나 몸을 붙이고 땅굴이나 바위 틈에 숨어 살면서
  2. 떨기나무 속에서 울부짖고 가시나무 밑에 웅크리고 있던
  3. 이름도 없는 바보 같은 것들, 회초리에 몰려 제 고장에서 쫓겨나더니......
  4. 이제 내가 그것들의 조롱거리가 되고 비웃으며 수군거리는 대상이 되었구나.
  5. 보기 싫어 가까이하려고도 아니하고 거리낌없이 내 앞에 침을 뱉으며
  1. "Because He has loosed His bowstring and afflicted me, They have cast off the bridle before me.
  2. "On the right hand their brood arises; They thrust aside my feet and build up against me their ways of destruction.
  3. "They break up my path, They profit from my destruction; No one restrains them.
  4. "As through a wide breach they come, Amid the tempest they roll on.
  5. "Terrors are turned against me; They pursue my honor as the wind, And my prosperity has passed away like a cloud.
  1. 나의 활시위를 풀어버리고, 나를 들볶으며 굴레 벗은 말처럼 덤벼드네.
  2. 천한 무리가 내 오른쪽에서 들고일어나 나의 앞에 저승길을 터놓는구나.
  3. 내 앞길을 파헤쳐 나를 망치는데도 그들을 막을 사람이 없네.
  4. 성벽을 허물며 밀려드는 적군과 같고 덮쳐오는 폭풍과도 같구나.
  5. 갑자기 쏟아지는 이 두려움에 나의 영광은 바람에 불려가듯이 사라지고 나의 행복은 구름처럼 날려갔네.
  1. "And now my soul is poured out within me; Days of affliction have seized me.
  2. "At night it pierces my bones within me, And my gnawing pains take no rest.
  3. "By a great force my garment is distorted; It binds me about as the collar of my coat.
  4. "He has cast me into the mire, And I have become like dust and ashes.
  5. "I cry out to You for help, but You do not answer me; I stand up, and You turn Your attention against me.
  1. 이제 나의 넋은 모두 쏟아졌고 괴로운 나날이 나를 사로잡는구나.
  2. 밤이면 도려내듯이 내 뼈를 쑤셔대는데 그 쓰라림이 잠시도 멎지를 않네.
  3. 누군가 나의 옷을 세차게 잡는구나. 나의 옷깃을 휘어잡아
  4. 수렁에 내던져서 마침내 이 몸은 티끌과 재가 되고 말았네.
  5. 내가 당신께 부르짖사오나 당신께서는 대답도 없으시고 당신 앞에 섰사오나 보고만 계십니다.
  1. "You have become cruel to me; With the might of Your hand You persecute me.
  2. "You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride; And You dissolve me in a storm.
  3. "For I know that You will bring me to death And to the house of meeting for all living.
  4. "Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretch out his hand, Or in his disaster therefore cry out for help?
  5. "Have I not wept for the one whose life is hard? Was not my soul grieved for the needy?
  1. 당신은 이다지도 모진 분이십니까? 손을 들어 힘껏 나를 치시다니.
  2. 나를 번쩍 들어 바람에 실어보내시고 폭풍에 휘말려 사라지게 하시다니.
  3. 아, 어찌 모르겠습니까? 당신께서 나를 죽음으로 이끌어가시리라는 것을. 모든 산 자가 모여갈 곳으로 데려가시리라는 것을.
  4. 이렇게 빠져 들어가면서 그 누가 살려달라고 손을 내뻗지 않으며 절망에 빠져서 도움을 청하지 않으랴!
  5. 고생하는 자들을 위하여 내가 울지 않았던가? 가난한 자들을 위하여 내가 괴로워하지 않았던가?
  1. "When I expected good, then evil came; When I waited for light, then darkness came.
  2. "I am seething within and cannot relax; Days of affliction confront me.
  3. "I go about mourning without comfort; I stand up in the assembly and cry out for help.
  4. "I have become a brother to jackals And a companion of ostriches.
  5. "My skin turns black on me, And my bones burn with fever.
  1. 좋은 날을 기다렸더니 재난이 닥치고 빛을 바랐더니 어둠이 덮쳤네.
  2. 속은 쉬지 않고 부글부글 끓고 괴로운 나날이 앞길에 도사리고 있구나.
  3. 햇빛에 타지도 않은 몸이 이렇게 새까맣게 되어 사람들 모인 가운데 일어나서 도움을 청하는 신세가 되다니......
  4. 나는 승냥이의 형제요, 타조의 벗이 되고 말았는가!
  5. 살갗은 까맣게 벗겨지고 뼈는 지글지글 타오르는데, 나의 수금은 장송곡이나 울리고 나의 피리는 통곡 소리나 반주하게 되었구나.
  1. "Therefore my harp is turned to mourning, And my flute to the sound of those who weep.
 
 
  1. "I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I gaze at a virgin?
  2. "And what is the portion of God from above Or the heritage of the Almighty from on high?
  3. "Is it not calamity to the unjust And disaster to those who work iniquity?
  4. "Does He not see my ways And number all my steps?
  5. "If I have walked with falsehood, And my foot has hastened after deceit,
  1. 젊은 여인에게 눈이 팔려 두리번거리지 않겠다고 나는 스스로 약속하였네.
  2. 하느님께서 위에서 나누어주시는 분깃은 무엇인가? 전능하신 분께서 높은 데서 떼어주시는 유산은 무엇인가?
  3. 악당에게는 파멸이, 바람둥이에게는 고독이 아니던가?
  4. 그는 내가 걸어온 길을 살피시고 나의 발걸음을 세시는 분,
  5. 내가 허황한 생각으로 살았다거나 이 발이 거짓으로 서둘렀다면,
  1. Let Him weigh me with accurate scales, And let God know my integrity.
  2. "If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart followed my eyes, Or if any spot has stuck to my hands,
  3. Let me sow and another eat, And let my crops be uprooted.
  4. "If my heart has been enticed by a woman, Or I have lurked at my neighbor's doorway,
  5. May my wife grind for another, And let others kneel down over her.
  1. 바른 저울에 달아보시면 아시리라. 하느님께서 나의 흠없음을 어찌 모르시랴?
  2. 내 발길이 바른 길에서 벗어났다든가 이 마음이 눈에 이끌려 헤매고 이 손바닥에 죄지은 흔적이라도 묻어 있다면,
  3. 내가 뿌린 것을 남이 먹고 내 밭에서 자란 것이 뿌리째 뽑혀도 좋겠네.
  4. 나의 마음이 남의 여인에게 끌려 이웃집 문을 엿보기라도 하였다면,
  5. 내 아내가 외간남자에게 밥을 지어주고 잠자리를 같이하여도 할 말이 없겠네.
  1. "For that would be a lustful crime; Moreover, it would be an iniquity punishable by judges.
  2. "For it would be fire that consumes to Abaddon, And would uproot all my increase.
  3. "If I have despised the claim of my male or female slaves When they filed a complaint against me,
  4. What then could I do when God arises? And when He calls me to account, what will I answer Him?
  5. "Did not He who made me in the womb make him, And the same one fashion us in the womb?
  1. 그렇듯이 추잡한 죄를 짓고도 어떻게 심판을 받지 않으랴?
  2. 송두리째 태우는 무서운 불길에 나의 모든 소출이 타버려도 할 말이 없겠네.
  3. 내가 만일 남종의 인권을 짓밟았다든가 여종의 불평을 묵살해 버렸다면
  4. 하느님께서 일어나실 때 어떻게 하며 그가 심문하실 때 무엇이라고 답변하겠는가?
  5. 나를 모태에 생기게 하신 바로 그분이 그들도 내시지 않으셨던가?
  1. "If I have kept the poor from their desire, Or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
  2. Or have eaten my morsel alone, And the orphan has not shared it
  3. (But from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, And from infancy I guided her),
  4. If I have seen anyone perish for lack of clothing, Or that the needy had no covering,
  5. If his loins have not thanked me, And if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep,
  1. 내가 가난한 사람을 모른 체하였던가? 과부들의 눈앞을 캄캄하게 해주었던가?
  2. 나의 분깃을 혼자만 먹고 고아들에게는 나누어줄 생각도 없었던가?
  3. 아니다, 아비가 제 자식을 키우듯이 나는 그들을 어릴 적부터 키워주었고, 나면서부터 손을 잡아 이끌어주었다.
  4. 걸칠 옷 한 벌 없이 숨지는 사람, 몸 가릴 것도 없는 빈민을 못 본 체라도 했단 말인가?
  5. 내가 기른 어린 양털에 온기를 입어 그의 시리던 허리가 나를 칭송하지 않았던가?
  1. If I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, Because I saw I had support in the gate,
  2. Let my shoulder fall from the socket, And my arm be broken off at the elbow.
  3. "For calamity from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty I can do nothing.
  4. "If I have put my confidence in gold, And called fine gold my trust,
  5. If I have gloated because my wealth was great, And because my hand had secured so much;
  1. 성문에 모이는 사람들이 모두 내 편이라 믿고 죄없는 사람에게 손찌검이라도 했더란 말인가?
  2. 그랬다면 내 어깻죽지가 빠져도 좋겠네. 팔이 팔꿈치에서 빠져 나가도 할 말이 없겠네.
  3. 나는 다만 하느님의 징계가 두렵고 그의 위엄에 눌려서라도 그런 짓을 하지는 못하였다네.
  4. "나는 황금만을 믿는다. 정금밖에 의지할 것이 없다." 이것이 과연 나의 생활 신조였던가?
  5. 재산이 많다고 우쭐거리고 일확천금을 했다고 으스댄 일이라도 있었던가?
  1. If I have looked at the sun when it shone Or the moon going in splendor,
  2. And my heart became secretly enticed, And my hand threw a kiss from my mouth,
  3. That too would have been an iniquity calling for judgment, For I would have denied God above.
  4. "Have I rejoiced at the extinction of my enemy, Or exulted when evil befell him?
  5. "No, I have not allowed my mouth to sin By asking for his life in a curse.
  1. 해를 우러러 절하고 두둥실 떠가는 달을 쳐다보며
  2. 슬그머니 마음이 동하여 손으로 입맞춤을 띄워 보내기라도 했던가?
  3. 그랬다면 이 또한 용서받을 수 없는 죄요, 높이 계시는 하느님을 배신한 것이겠지만......
  4. 나의 원수가 망하는 것이 좋아 그에게 재앙이 내리기를 빌기라도 했던가?
  5. 나의 입천장이 죄의 맛을 알아 그에게 앙화가 내리도록 빌었단 말인가?
  1. "Have the men of my tent not said, 'Who can find one who has not been satisfied with his meat'?
  2. "The alien has not lodged outside, For I have opened my doors to the traveler.
  3. "Have I covered my transgressions like Adam, By hiding my iniquity in my bosom,
  4. Because I feared the great multitude, And the contempt of families terrified me, And kept silent and did not go out of doors?
  5. "Oh that I had one to hear me! Behold, here is my signature; Let the Almighty answer me! And the indictment which my adversary has written,
  1. 나의 천막에서 유숙하는 사람들은 자랑스러워하였네. 나에게 산해진미를 실컷 얻어먹지 못한 사람이 어디 있겠느냐고......
  2. 나는 길손을 노숙시킨 일이 없고 길 가는 사람 앞에서 문을 닫아건 일이 없었네.
  3. 죄를 짓고 사람 앞에 감춘 일이라도 있었던가? 악한 생각을 가슴 깊이 숨긴 일이라도 있었던가?
  4. 사람들의 큰 소란을 무서워하고 문중이 떨쳐 나와 조롱하는 것을 두려워하여 입을 다물고 두문불출, 앉아 있기라도 하였던가?
  5. 오, 하느님께 드린 내 말에 누가 증인으로 서주겠는가! 나는 이렇게 속을 모두 털었으니 이제는 전능하신 분의 답변을 들어야겠다. 나를 고소하는 자여, 고소장이라도 써 내려무나.
  1. Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, I would bind it to myself like a crown.
  2. "I would declare to Him the number of my steps; Like a prince I would approach Him.
  3. "If my land cries out against me, And its furrows weep together;
  4. If I have eaten its fruit without money, Or have caused its owners to lose their lives,
  5. Let briars grow instead of wheat, And stinkweed instead of barley." The words of Job are ended.
  1. 나는 그것을 목에 걸든가 면류관인 양 머리에 두르고는
  2. 살아온 나의 발걸음을 낱낱이 밝히며 귀족처럼 그의 앞에 나서리라.
  3. 나의 밭이 나를 향해 아우성치고 이랑들이 한꺼번에 목놓아 운 적이 있다면,
  4. 품값을 주지도 않고 밭의 소출을 모조리 먹어 치워 일꾼들이 허기져 비틀거리게 하였다면,
  5. (ㄱ)밀이 날 자리에 엉겅퀴가 나고 보리가 날 자리에 잡초가 무성하여도 좋겠네. (ㄴ)이로써 욥의 말은 끝난다.
