이사야 39:1-41:29

 히스기야의 병이 회복되었다는 소식을 듣고 방문한 바벨론 사신들에게 히스기야는 무기고와 보물고를 보여 주는 교만을 보였다. 이에 이사야는 그 모든 보물을 바벨론에게 빼앗길 것이라고 예언하였다. 또한 하나님의 주권으로 이스라엘은 바벨론 포로 생활에서 해방될 것이라고 하였다.
  
  바벨론의 사자(39:1-39:8)    
 
  1. At that time Merodach-baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick and had recovered.
  2. Hezekiah was pleased, and showed them all his treasure house, the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious oil and his whole armory and all that was found in his treasuries. There was nothing in his house nor in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.
  3. Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah and said to him, "What did these men say, and from where have they come to you?" And Hezekiah said, "They have come to me from a far country, from Babylon."
  4. He said, "What have they seen in your house?" So Hezekiah answered, "They have seen all that is in my house; there is nothing among my treasuries that I have not shown them."
  5. Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD of hosts,
  1. 그 무렵, 바빌론의 왕 발라단의 아들 므로닥발라단이 히즈키야가 병들었다가 나았다는 소식을 듣고 사절단을 보내어 편지와 예물을 전하였다.
  2. 히즈키야는 그 사절단을 환대하고 자기의 보물 창고 안에 있는 금, 은, 향료, 향유, 병기, 기타 모든 귀중품을 보여주었다. 히즈키야는 그의 왕궁과 나라 안에 있는 모든 것을 남김없이 보여주었다.
  3. 예언자 이사야가 히즈키야 왕에게 와서 물었다. "이 사람들이 무슨 말을 했으며 어디에서 온 사람들입니까?" 히즈키야가 대답하였다. "그들은 먼 나라 바빌론에서 온 사람들이오."
  4. 그러자 이사야가 다시 물었다. "그들이 왕의 궁전에서 무엇을 보았습니까?" 히즈키야가 대답하였다. "그들은 나의 궁 안에 있는 모든 것을 다 보았소. 또 나의 보물 창고 안에 있는 귀중품들을 그들은 모두 보았소."
  5. 이 말을 듣고 이사야가 히즈키야에게 말하였다. "만군의 야훼께서 하시는 말씀을 들으십시오.
  1. 'Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house and all that your fathers have laid up in store to this day will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,' says the LORD.
  2. 'And some of your sons who will issue from you, whom you will beget, will be taken away, and they will become officials in the palace of the king of Babylon.'"
  3. Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "The word of the LORD which you have spoken is good " For he thought, "For there will be peace and truth in my days."
  1. 야훼께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '네 왕궁에 있는 모든 것, 네 선조들이 오늘날까지 고이 간직하였던 모든 것이 바빌론으로 옮겨져 하나도 남지 않게 될 그 날이 다가오고 있다.
  2. 너에게서 태어날 너의 친아들 중 더러는 바빌론 왕궁으로 끌려가 내시가 되리라.'"
  3. 히즈키야가 대답하였다. "그대가 전한 야훼의 말씀은 지당하신 말씀이오." 그리고 자기의 목숨이 붙어 있는 동안은 평화와 안정이 계속되리라고 혼자 생각하였다.
 
  이스라엘에 대한 하나님의 구원(40:1-41:29)    
 
  1. "Comfort, O comfort My people," says your God.
  2. "Speak kindly to Jerusalem; And call out to her, that her warfare has ended, That her iniquity has been removed, That she has received of the LORD'S hand Double for all her sins."
  3. A voice is calling, "Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.
  4. "Let every valley be lifted up, And every mountain and hill be made low; And let the rough ground become a plain, And the rugged terrain a broad valley;
  5. Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, And all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
  1. "위로하여라. 나의 백성을 위로하여라." 너희의 하느님께서 말씀하신다.
  2. "예루살렘 시민에게 다정스레 일러라. 이제 복역 기간이 끝났다고, 그만하면 벌을 받을 만큼 받았다고, 야훼의 손에서 죄벌을 곱절이나 받았다고 외쳐라."
  3. 한 소리 있어 외친다. "야훼께서 오신다. 사막에 길을 내어라. 우리의 하느님께서 오신다. 벌판에 큰 길을 훤히 닦아라.
  4. 모든 골짜기를 메우고, 산과 언덕을 깎아내려라. 절벽은 평지를 만들고, 비탈진 산골길은 넓혀라.
  5. 야훼의 영광이 나타나리니 모든 사람이 그 영화를 뵈리라. 야훼께서 친히 이렇게 약속하셨다."
  1. A voice says, "Call out." Then he answered, "What shall I call out?" All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
  2. The grass withers, the flower fades, When the breath of the LORD blows upon it; Surely the people are grass.
  3. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.
  4. Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear Say to the cities of Judah, "Here is your God!"
  5. Behold, the Lord GOD will come with might, With His arm ruling for Him Behold, His reward is with Him And His recompense before Him.
  1. 한 소리 있어 명하신다. "외쳐라." "무엇을 외칠까요?" 하고 나는 물었다. "모든 인생은 한낱 풀포기, 그 영화는 들에 핀 꽃과 같다!
  2. 풀은 시들고 꽃은 진다, 스쳐가는 야훼의 입김에. 백성이란 실로 풀과 같은 존재이다.
  3. 풀은 시들고 꽃은 지지만 우리 하느님의 말씀은 영원히 서 있으리라."
  4. 너, 시온아. 높은 산에 올라 기쁜 소식을 전하여라. 너, 예루살렘아. 힘껏 외쳐 기쁜 소식을 전하여라. 두려워하지 말고 소리를 질러라. 유다의 모든 도시에 알려라. 너희의 하느님께서 저기 오신다.
  5. 주 야훼께서 저기 권능을 떨치시며 오신다. 팔을 휘둘러 정복하시고 승리하신 보람으로 찾은 백성을 데리고 오신다. 수고하신 값으로 얻은 백성을 앞세우고 오신다.
  1. Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, In His arm He will gather the lambs And carry them in His bosom; He will gently lead the nursing ewes.
  2. Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, And marked off the heavens by the span, And calculated the dust of the earth by the measure, And weighed the mountains in a balance And the hills in a pair of scales?
  3. Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, Or as His counselor has informed Him?
  4. With whom did He consult and who gave Him understanding? And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge And informed Him of the way of understanding?
  5. Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, And are regarded as a speck of dust on the scales; Behold, He lifts up the islands like fine dust.
  1. 목자처럼 당신의 양떼에게 풀을 뜯기시며, 새끼 양들을 두 팔로 안아 가슴에 품으시고 젖먹이 딸린 어미 양을 곱게 몰고 오신다.
  2. 누가 바닷물을 손바닥으로 되었느냐? 하늘을 장뼘으로 재었느냐? 땅의 모든 흙을 말로 되었느냐? 산을 저울로 달고 언덕을 천칭으로 달았느냐?
  3. 누가 야훼의 뜻을 좌우할 수 있었으며 좋은 의견으로 그를 가르칠 수 있었느냐?
  4. 누가 과연 그에게서 자기를 깨우쳐달라고, 올바른 인생길을 가르쳐달라고, 현명한 처세의 길을 가르쳐달라고 부탁을 받았느냐?
  5. 보아라, 민족들은 두레박에서 떨어지는 물방울이요, 천칭에 덮인 가는 먼지일 뿐. 섬들도 고운 가루보다 더 무겁지 않다!
  1. Even Lebanon is not enough to burn, Nor its beasts enough for a burnt offering.
  2. All the nations are as nothing before Him, They are regarded by Him as less than nothing and meaningless.
  3. To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare with Him?
  4. As for the idol, a craftsman casts it, A goldsmith plates it with gold, And a silversmith fashions chains of silver.
  5. He who is too impoverished for such an offering Selects a tree that does not rot; He seeks out for himself a skillful craftsman To prepare an idol that will not totter.
  1. 레바논 산 수풀은 장작으로 쓰기에도 모자라고 거기에서 뛰노는 짐승들도 번제물로 바치기에 모자란다.
  2. 민족들을 다 모아도 하느님 앞에서는 있으나마나, 허무하여 그 자취도 찾을 수 없다.
  3. 하느님이 누구의 모습이라도 닮았다는 말이냐? 어떤 모습이 그를 닮을 수 있다는 말이냐?
  4. 대장장이가 부어 만든 우상, 은장이가 금박을 입히고 부어 만든 은사슬을 걸친 우상과 같다는 말이냐?제 40 장
  5. 손재간 있는 대장장이가 썩지 않는 나무를 구해서 세워주어야 넘어지지 않는 우상과는 다르다.
  1. Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
  2. It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
  3. He it is who reduces rulers to nothing, Who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.
  4. Scarcely have they been planted, Scarcely have they been sown, Scarcely has their stock taken root in the earth, But He merely blows on them, and they wither, And the storm carries them away like stubble.
  5. "To whom then will you liken Me That I would be his equal?" says the Holy One.
  1. 너희는 모르느냐? 듣지 못하였느냐? 한 처음부터 너희 인간에게 알려진 것이 아니냐? 땅의 터가 잡힐 때부터 잘 알고 있던 일이 아니냐?
  2. 지구의 대기권 위에 앉아 계시는 이, 그의 앞에서 세상 주민은 메뚜기 같지 않느냐? 그는 이 하늘을 엷은 포목인 양 펴시고 사람 사는 천막인 양 쳐놓으셨다.
  3. 고위층 인사들을 없애버리시고 위정자들을 그 자취도 남겨두지 아니하신다.
  4. 나무를 심기가 무섭게, 씨를 뿌리기가 무섭게, 그루가 땅에 뿌리를 박기가 무섭게, 하느님께서 입김을 부시니 그것들은 말라버리고 불어오는 거센 바람에 검불처럼 날려가고 만다.
  5. "내가 누구의 모습이라도 닮았다는 말이냐? 내가 누구와 같다는 말이냐?" 거룩하신 이께서 말씀하신다.
  1. Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.
  2. Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God"?
  3. Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired His understanding is inscrutable.
  4. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.
  5. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly,
  1. 눈을 들어 하늘을 쳐다보아라. 누가 저 별들을 창조하였느냐? 그 군대를 불러내시어 하나하나 이름을 불러 점호하시는 이는 그분이시다. 힘이 세고 기력이 장사이신 그분의 부르심에 누가 빠질 수 있으랴?
  2. 야곱아, 네가 어찌 이런 말을 하느냐? 이스라엘아, 네가 어찌 이런 주장을 펴느냐? "야훼께서는 나의 고생길 같은 것은 관심도 두지 않으신다. 하느님께서는 내 권리 따위, 알은 체도 않으신다."
  3. 너희는 모르느냐? 듣지 못하였느냐? 야훼께서는 영원하신 하느님, 땅의 끝까지 창조하신 분이시다. 힘이 솟구쳐 피곤을 모르시고, 슬기가 무궁하신 분이시다.
  4. 힘이 빠진 사람에게 힘을 주시고 기진한 사람에게 기력을 주시는 분이시다.
  5. 청년들도 힘이 빠져 허덕이겠고 장정들도 비틀거리겠지만
  1. Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
  1. 야훼를 믿고 바라는 사람은 새 힘이 솟아나리라. 날개쳐 솟아오르는 독수리처럼 아무리 뛰어도 고단하지 아니하고 아무리 걸어도 지치지 아니하리라.
 
 
  1. "Coastlands, listen to Me in silence, And let the peoples gain new strength; Let them come forward, then let them speak; Let us come together for judgment.
  2. "Who has aroused one from the east Whom He calls in righteousness to His feet? He delivers up nations before him And subdues kings He makes them like dust with his sword, As the wind-driven chaff with his bow.
  3. "He pursues them, passing on in safety, By a way he had not been traversing with his feet.
  4. "Who has performed and accomplished it, Calling forth the generations from the beginning? 'I, the LORD, am the first, and with the last I am He.'"
  5. The coastlands have seen and are afraid; The ends of the earth tremble; They have drawn near and have come.
  1. 바닷가에 사는 주민들아, 조용히 내 말을 들어라. 너희 부족들아, 나의 논고를 끝까지 들어라. 내 말이 끝나거든 썩 나와서 할 말을 하여라. 어디 법정에서 대결해 보자.
  2. 가는 곳마다 승리를 거두는 자를 동방에서 일으킨 것이 누구냐? 그에게 민족들을 넘겨주고 제왕들을 굴복시킨 것이 누구냐? 그 칼에 모두가 가루처럼 부서지고, 그 활에 모두가 검불처럼 흩어진다.
  3. 평화의 행군 앞에 적군은 쫓기니, 그의 발은 흙에 닿을 짬도 없다.
  4. 이런 일을 한 것이 누구냐? 한 처음부터 시대마다 사람을 불러일으킨 것이 누구냐? 나 야훼가 이 일을 시작하였다. 마지막 세대에까지 이 일을 끌어나갈 것도 바로 나다.
  5. 바닷가에 사는 주민이 이를 보고 두려워하고, 세상 구석구석에 사는 사람들도 벌벌 떨며 다들 모여온다.
  1. Each one helps his neighbor And says to his brother, "Be strong!"
  2. So the craftsman encourages the smelter, And he who smooths metal with the hammer encourages him who beats the anvil, Saying of the soldering, "It is good"; And he fastens it with nails, So that it will not totter.
  3. "But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,
  4. You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its remotest parts And said to you, 'You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you.
  5. 'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'
  1. 끼리끼리 손발이 맞아 서로 힘을 내라고 격려하며,제 41 장
  2. 대장장이는 은장이를 부채질하여 "잘한다." 하고 마치질하는 자는 모루에 대고 두드리는 자를 칭찬하여 "그 쇠 참 잘 붙였다." 하며 움직이지 못하게 못을 단단히 박은 우상과는 다르다! 제 41 장
  3. "너, 이스라엘, 나의 종, 너, 내가 뽑은 자, 야곱아, 나의 친구 아브라함의 후예야,
  4. 나는 너를 땅 끝에서 데려왔다. 먼 곳에서 너를 불러 세우며 일렀다. '너는 나의 종이다. 내가 너를 뽑아 세워놓고 버리겠느냐?'
  5. 두려워하지 마라. 내가 너의 곁에 있다. 걱정하지 마라. 내가 너의 하느님이다. 내가 너의 힘이 되어준다. 내가 도와준다. 정의의 오른팔로 너를 붙들어준다.
  1. "Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; Those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish.
  2. "You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, Those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent.
  3. "For I am the LORD your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'
  4. "Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel; I will help you," declares the LORD, "and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
  5. "Behold, I have made you a new, sharp threshing sledge with double edges; You will thresh the mountains and pulverize them, And will make the hills like chaff.
  1. 너에게 서슬이 푸르게 달려들던 자들은 부끄러워 쥐구멍을 찾게 되고, 멸망하여 흔적도 없이 사라지리라.
  2. 너와 다투던 자들은 찾아도 보이지 아니하고 너와 싸우던 자들은 어이없이 사라지리라.
  3. 나 야훼가 너의 하느님, 내가 너의 오른손을 붙들어주며 이르지 않았느냐? '두려워하지 마라. 내가 너를 도와준다.'
  4. 두려워하지 마라, 벌레 같은 야곱아! 구더기 같은 이스라엘아, 내가 너를 도와주리라. 야훼의 말이다. 이스라엘의 거룩하신 자가 너를 구원하는 이다.
  5. 보아라, 내가 너를 날이 선 새 탈곡기로 만들리니 네가 모든 산을 짓부수어 뭉그러뜨리고 모든 언덕을 가루로 만들리라.
  1. "You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away, And the storm will scatter them; But you will rejoice in the LORD, You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.
  2. "The afflicted and needy are seeking water, but there is none, And their tongue is parched with thirst; I, the LORD, will answer them Myself, As the God of Israel I will not forsake them.
  3. "I will open rivers on the bare heights And springs in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water And the dry land fountains of water.
  4. "I will put the cedar in the wilderness, The acacia and the myrtle and the olive tree; I will place the juniper in the desert Together with the box tree and the cypress,
  5. That they may see and recognize, And consider and gain insight as well, That the hand of the LORD has done this, And the Holy One of Israel has created it.
  1. 네가 원수들을 까불어 바람에 날리면, 그들은 거센 바람에 날려 흩어지리라. 그러나 너는 야훼 앞에서 기뻐 뛰놀며 이스라엘의 거룩하신 분을 믿고 뽐내리라.
  2. 억눌린 빈민들은 물을 찾아도 얻지 못하여 목말라 혀마저 바싹 타지마는, 나 야훼가 그들의 하소연을 들어주고 나 이스라엘의 하느님이 그들을 버리지 않으리니,
  3. 대머리산에 개울물이 흐르고 골짜기에서 샘이 터지리라. 마른 땅에서 물이 솟아 나와 사막을 늪으로 만들리라.
  4. 사막에 송백과 아카시아와 소귀나무와 올리브 나무를 심고 황무지에 전나무와 느티나무와 회양목을 함께 심으리라."
  5. 이것은 야훼께서 손수 하신 일, 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이가 이루신 일임을 그들에게 깨우쳐 알리시려고 이 모든 일을 똑똑히 보여주신 것이다.
  1. "Present your case," the LORD says. "Bring forward your strong arguments," The King of Jacob says.
  2. Let them bring forth and declare to us what is going to take place; As for the former events, declare what they were, That we may consider them and know their outcome. Or announce to us what is coming;
  3. Declare the things that are going to come afterward, That we may know that you are gods; Indeed, do good or evil, that we may anxiously look about us and fear together.
  4. Behold, you are of no account, And your work amounts to nothing; He who chooses you is an abomination.
  5. "I have aroused one from the north, and he has come; From the rising of the sun he will call on My name; And he will come upon rulers as upon mortar, Even as the potter treads clay."
  1. 야훼께서 이르신다. "떼를 지어 오려거든 오너라." 야곱의 왕께서 이르신다. "너희의 신상들을 모시고 오너라.
  2. 썩 나서서 말해 보아라. 앞으로 무슨 일이 있을지, 지난날에 무슨 일이 있었는지, 기억해 둘 터이니 말해 보아라. 결말을 알 수 있도록 앞으로 올 일을 미리 말해 보아라.
  3. 장차 될 일을 말해 보아라. 그대들이 신인 줄을 알 수 있도록 좋은 일이든 나쁜 일이든 좀 해보아라. 우리 모두 불안해져 두려워하지 않겠는가!
  4. 참으로 너희는 아무것도 아니다. 너희가 무엇을 하여 자취라도 남기랴! 너희를 택하여 떠받드는 자조차 부정탈까 가까이 못할 존재다.
  5. 내가 그의 마음을 부추겨 북쪽에서 달려오게 하고 해 뜨는 곳에서 그를 지명하여 불러온다. 그는 옹기장이가 흙을 밟아 이기듯 지방영주들을 진흙처럼 밟는다.
  1. Who has declared this from the beginning, that we might know? Or from former times, that we may say, "He is right!"? Surely there was no one who declared, Surely there was no one who proclaimed, Surely there was no one who heard your words.
  2. "Formerly I said to Zion, 'Behold, here they are ' And to Jerusalem, 'I will give a messenger of good news.'
  3. "But when I look, there is no one, And there is no counselor among them Who, if I ask, can give an answer.
  4. "Behold, all of them are false; Their works are worthless, Their molten images are wind and emptiness.
  1. 이런 일이 닥칠 때 곧 알아보도록 미리 일러준 자라도 있었느냐? 그 말이 맞았다고 고개를 끄덕이도록 앞질러 일러준 자라도 있었느냐? 이렇게 일러준 자도 들려준 자도 없었다. 아무도 너희가 말하는 것을 듣지 못하였다.
  2. 내가 비로소 이 소식을 시온에 알렸다. 내가 예루살렘에 희소식을 전할 자를 보냈다.
  3. 그들 가운데는 그럴 만한 자가 하나도 없었다. 그럴듯한 의견을 내놓을 자 없었다. 물어보아도 대꾸할 자 없었다.
  4. 참으로 그것들은 모두 허수아비다. 자취를 남긴 일 하나 하지 못한다. 그들의 우상들은 바람이요 허공이다.
 
  회삼물(灰三物, 41:25)  석회, 고운 모래, 황토 세 가지를 섞은 석회 반죽
