예레미야 51:1-51:58

 바벨론에 대한 심판은 하나님의 뜻에 따라 확정된 것이었다. 바벨론의 멸망은 결국 유다의 해방을 의미하는 것이었다. 바벨론은 그들이 행한 대로 보응받게 되었다. 하나님께서는 메대를 사용해 바벨론을 심판하시겠다고 예고하셨고, 바벨론에서 포로 생활을 하고 있는 하나님의 백성들에게 구원의 소망을 잃지 않도록 권면하셨다.
  
  확정된 바벨론의 멸망(51:1-51:58)    
 
  1. Thus says the LORD: "Behold, I am going to arouse against Babylon And against the inhabitants of Leb-kamai The spirit of a destroyer.
  2. "I will dispatch foreigners to Babylon that they may winnow her And may devastate her land; For on every side they will be opposed to her In the day of her calamity.
  3. "Let not him who bends his bow bend it, Nor let him rise up in his scale-armor; So do not spare her young men; Devote all her army to destruction.
  4. "They will fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, And pierced through in their streets."
  5. For neither Israel nor Judah has been forsaken By his God, the LORD of hosts, Although their land is full of guilt Before the Holy One of Israel.
  1. 나 야훼가 선언한다. 보아라, 내가 광풍을 일으켜 바빌론과 렙카마이 주민들을 쓸어가리라.
  2. 내가 바빌론에 키질하는 자를 보내어 온 나라를 말끔히 날려버리리라. 재앙이 내릴 날, 사방에서 적이 몰려와 바빌론을 에워싸고 치리라.
  3. 그런 판국에 바빌론 궁수들이 갑옷을 입고 뽐내며 활을 쏜들 무엇하랴? 바빌론 정병들을 무자비하게 죽여라. 모든 군대를 전멸시켜라.
  4. 바빌론 나라 곳곳에 전사자의 시체가 뒹굴고, 거리거리에 창에 찔려 죽은 시체가 뒹굴리라.
  5. 이스라엘의 거룩한 하느님 나에게 지은 죄가 온 나라에 이렇게 가득한데 어찌 벌을 받지 않겠느냐? 그러나 이스라엘과 유다는 만군의 야훼 저희 하느님에게서 영원히 끊기지 아니하리라.
  1. Flee from the midst of Babylon, And each of you save his life! Do not be destroyed in her punishment, For this is the LORD'S time of vengeance; He is going to render recompense to her.
  2. Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of the LORD, Intoxicating all the earth The nations have drunk of her wine; Therefore the nations are going mad.
  3. Suddenly Babylon has fallen and been broken; Wail over her! Bring balm for her pain; Perhaps she may be healed.
  4. We applied healing to Babylon, but she was not healed; Forsake her and let us each go to his own country, For her judgment has reached to heaven And towers up to the very skies.
  5. The LORD has brought about our vindication; Come and let us recount in Zion The work of the LORD our God!
  1. 바빌론을 탈출하여라. 함께 벌받아 죽지 마라. 뛰쳐 나와 목숨을 건져라. 나 야훼가 원수갚을 때가 되었다. 바빌론은 마땅한 벌을 받는 것이다.
  2. 바빌론은 한때 야훼의 손에 들린 금술잔이 되어 온 세상을 취하게 하였었다. 그 술을 마시고 나서 온 세상이 실성을 하였었다.
  3. 그 바빌론이 갑자기 망해 무너지게 되었구나. 바빌론아, 통곡하여라. 향유를 가져다가 상처에 발라보아라. 혹시 나을지 누가 아느냐?"
  4. 벌을 면할 길 없는 바빌론의 죄가 하늘에 닿았고 구름에 미쳤다. 그 상처는 아무리 다스려도 낫지 않으니, 내버려두고 우리는 고향으로 돌아가자.
  5. 야훼께서는 우리를 죄에서 풀어주셨다. 오라, 우리 하느님 야훼께서 하신 일을 시온에 가서 이야기하자.
  1. Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers! The LORD has aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, Because His purpose is against Babylon to destroy it; For it is the vengeance of the LORD, vengeance for His temple.
  2. Lift up a signal against the walls of Babylon; Post a strong guard, Station sentries, Place men in ambush! For the LORD has both purposed and performed What He spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.
  3. O you who dwell by many waters, Abundant in treasures, Your end has come, The measure of your end.
  4. The LORD of hosts has sworn by Himself: "Surely I will fill you with a population like locusts, And they will cry out with shouts of victory over you."
  5. It is He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom, And by His understanding He stretched out the heavens.
  1. 화살촉을 벼리어 화살통 가득히 넣어라. 야훼께서 메대 왕을 부추기어 바빌론을 멸망시키시기로 결심하셨다. 이는 당신의 성전이 짓밟힌 것을 복수하시는 것이다.
  2. 바빌론 성 공격의 깃발을 올려라. 보초를 세우고 복병을 잠복시켜 단단히 감시하여라. 야훼께서 바빌론 시민을 멸하시기로 하셨으니, 그 뜻하신 대로 반드시 이루시리라.
  3. 큰 물가에 자리잡고 아쉬운 것 없이 흥청대던 자여, 이제 너는 끝장이 났다. 잘려 나갈 운명이 닥쳐왔다.
  4. "내가 메뚜기떼처럼 많은 군사를 바빌론에 가득히 불러들여 소리치게 하리라."고 만군의 야훼께서 자신을 걸고 맹세하셨다.
  5. 당신 힘으로 땅을 만드시고 당신 지혜로 땅덩이를 고정시키시고 당신 재주로 하늘을 펼치셨다.
  1. When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain And brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
  2. All mankind is stupid, devoid of knowledge; Every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols, For his molten images are deceitful, And there is no breath in them.
  3. They are worthless, a work of mockery; In the time of their punishment they will perish.
  4. The portion of Jacob is not like these; For the Maker of all is He, And of the tribe of His inheritance; The LORD of hosts is His name.
  5. He says, "You are My war-club, My weapon of war; And with you I shatter nations, And with you I destroy kingdoms.
  1. 한번 호령하시면 하늘에서 물이 출렁이고 먹구름이 지평선에서 올라오고 번개가 번쩍이며 비가 쏟아지면 가두어두셨던 바람을 풀어놓으신다.
  2. 사람은 모두 짐승처럼 우둔한 것, 은장이는 제가 부어 만든 우상 때문에 창피당하리라. 그것은 숨도 못 쉬는 허수아비,
  3. 아무것도 못하는 놀림감, 사람들이 벌받는 날, 함께 사라지리라.
  4. 야곱을 골라 당신을 섬기라고 하신 이는 그런 신이 아니시다. 만물을 지으시고 이스라엘 지파를 당신의 몫으로 고르신 분, 그 이름 만군의 야훼시다.
  5. "너는 나의 무기, 나의 망치였다. 나는 너를 휘둘러 나라들을 짓부수고 만방을 멸망시켰다.
  1. "With you I shatter the horse and his rider, And with you I shatter the chariot and its rider,
  2. And with you I shatter man and woman, And with you I shatter old man and youth, And with you I shatter young man and virgin,
  3. And with you I shatter the shepherd and his flock, And with you I shatter the farmer and his team, And with you I shatter governors and prefects.
  4. "But I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea for all their evil that they have done in Zion before your eyes," declares the LORD.
  5. "Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, Who destroys the whole earth," declares the LORD, "And I will stretch out My hand against you, And roll you down from the crags, And I will make you a burnt out mountain.
  1. 나는 너를 휘둘러 기병대를 짓부수고 병거대를 짓부수었다.
  2. 사나이와 아낙네를 짓부수고 늙은이와 젊은이를 짓부수었다.
  3. 목동과 양떼를 짓부수고 농부와 소를 짓부수었다. 지방장관들과 시장들을 짓부수었다.
  4. 나는 바빌론이 시온에 부린 온갖 행패를 너희가 보는 앞에서 갚으리라. 바빌론의 도읍과 온 국민에게 갚으리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  5. 온 세상을 짓부수던 멧부리야, 이제 내가 너를 멸하리라. 나 야훼가 선언한다. 팔을 뻗어 너를 움켜잡고 바위 꼭대기에서 내려 굴리며 산에 불을 지르리라.
  1. "They will not take from you even a stone for a corner Nor a stone for foundations, But you will be desolate forever," declares the LORD.
  2. Lift up a signal in the land, Blow a trumpet among the nations! Consecrate the nations against her, Summon against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni and Ashkenaz; Appoint a marshal against her, Bring up the horses like bristly locusts.
  3. Consecrate the nations against her, The kings of the Medes, Their governors and all their prefects, And every land of their dominion.
  4. So the land quakes and writhes, For the purposes of the LORD against Babylon stand, To make the land of Babylon A desolation without inhabitants.
  5. The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting, They stay in the strongholds; Their strength is exhausted, They are becoming like women; Their dwelling places are set on fire, The bars of her gates are broken.
  1. 너는 언제까지나 돌무더기로 남아 모퉁잇돌 하나 주춧돌 하나 너에게서 얻을 수 없으리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  2. 만방에 깃발을 들어 신호하여라. 나팔을 불어 알려라. 바빌론을 칠 거룩한 싸움에 만방을 동원하여라. 아라랏과 민니와 아스그낫 나라들을 불러다 바빌론을 쳐라. 사령관들을 엄명하여 싸움을 시작하여라. 기마대를 메뚜기떼처럼 몰아넣어라.
  3. 메대 왕을 비롯한 그 지방장관들과 시장들과 속국들을 다 거룩한 싸움에 동원시켜 바빌론을 쳐라."
  4. 땅이 뒤틀리며 흔들린다. 야훼께서 계획하신 대로 바빌론을 치시어 그 땅을 인적도 없는 황량한 곳으로 만드시려고 일어서셨다.
  5. 바빌론의 용사들은 여인처럼 힘이 빠져 싸우다 말고 요새로 돌아가 보면, 아, 빗장은 이미 부러지고 집들은 불길에 싸여 있으리라.
  1. One courier runs to meet another, And one messenger to meet another, To tell the king of Babylon That his city has been captured from end to end;
  2. The fords also have been seized, And they have burned the marshes with fire, And the men of war are terrified.
  3. For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor At the time it is stamped firm; Yet in a little while the time of harvest will come for her."
  4. "Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has devoured me and crushed me, He has set me down like an empty vessel; He has swallowed me like a monster, He has filled his stomach with my delicacies; He has washed me away.
  5. "May the violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon," The inhabitant of Zion will say; And, "May my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea," Jerusalem will say.
  1. 전령이 잇달아 뛰어온다. 수도 바빌론이 구석구석 함락되었다고 그 소식을 왕에게 알리러 뛰어온다.
  2. 강나루마다 빼앗기고 방어진지는 불에 타고 군인들은 모두 제 정신이 아니라고 보고한다.
  3. 수도 바빌론이 타작 마당처럼 짓밟힐 때가 왔다고, 곡식알처럼 떨릴 때가 왔다고, 이스라엘의 하느님이신 만군의 야훼께서 선언하시지 않았느냐?
  4. "바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 우리를 잡아먹었습니다. 모조리 먹고 빈 접시처럼 만들었습니다. 바다의 용처럼 우리를 삼켰습니다. 입맛을 다시며 배가 불룩하게 우리를 먹어치웠습니다.
  5. 사정없이 우리 살을 뜯어먹던 그 원수를 바빌론 성 위에서 갚아달라고 시온의 백성이 호소합니다. 우리 피를 흘리게 한 원수를 바빌론 백성에게 갚아달라고 예루살렘이 호소합니다."
  1. Therefore thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am going to plead your case And exact full vengeance for you; And I will dry up her sea And make her fountain dry.
  2. "Babylon will become a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals, An object of horror and hissing, without inhabitants.
  3. "They will roar together like young lions, They will growl like lions' cubs.
  4. "When they become heated up, I will serve them their banquet And make them drunk, that they may become jubilant And may sleep a perpetual sleep And not wake up," declares the LORD.
  5. "I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, Like rams together with male goats.
  1. "그렇다면 나 야훼가 선언한다. 나 이제 너의 송사를 받아들여 너의 원수를 갚아주리라. 바빌론의 샘구멍을 막아 물줄기들을 말려버리리라.
  2. 바빌론은 여우의 소굴이 되리니, 그 참혹한 형상을 보고 사람들이 빈정거리리라. 바빌론은 사람의 그림자 하나 비치지 않는 폐허가 되리니,
  3. 그제야 사람들은 저마다 부르짖으리라. 앙칼진 사자 새끼 소리를 내리라.
  4. 그들의 목이 타느냐? 내가 술상을 차려주리라. 마시고 만취하도록, 아주 잠들어, 다시는 깨어나지 못하도록. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  5. 내가 바빌론의 주민을 어린 양처럼 숫양이나 숫염소처럼 도살장으로 끌고 내려가리라."
  1. "How Sheshak has been captured, And the praise of the whole earth been seized! How Babylon has become an object of horror among the nations!
  2. "The sea has come up over Babylon; She has been engulfed with its tumultuous waves.
  3. "Her cities have become an object of horror, A parched land and a desert, A land in which no man lives And through which no son of man passes.
  4. "I will punish Bel in Babylon, And I will make what he has swallowed come out of his mouth; And the nations will no longer stream to him Even the wall of Babylon has fallen down!
  5. "Come forth from her midst, My people, And each of you save yourselves From the fierce anger of the LORD.
  1. 온 세상의 찬양을 받던 세삭이 어이없게 함락되다니, 점령되다니! 바빌론이 어이없게 뭇 민족 앞에 그 참혹한 형상을 보이게 되다니!
  2. 소리쳐 밀려드는 물결에 바빌론이 뒤덮이고 말았구나.
  3. 성읍들은 허허벌판 쑥밭이 되어 사람의 그림자 하나 비치지 않는 폐허가 되었구나.
  4. "내가 바빌론에서 벨 신을 벌하여 삼켰던 것을 토하게 하리니, 다시는 뭇 민족이 그에게 몰려들지 않으리라. 바빌론 성은 무너졌다.
  5. 내 백성아, 너희는 바빌론 성에서 빠져 나와 내가 터뜨리는 화를 입지 말고 목숨을 건져라.
  1. "Now so that your heart does not grow faint, And you are not afraid at the report that will be heard in the land-- For the report will come one year, And after that another report in another year, And violence will be in the land With ruler against ruler--
  2. Therefore behold, days are coming When I will punish the idols of Babylon; And her whole land will be put to shame And all her slain will fall in her midst.
  3. "Then heaven and earth and all that is in them Will shout for joy over Babylon, For the destroyers will come to her from the north," Declares the LORD.
  4. Indeed Babylon is to fall for the slain of Israel, As also for Babylon the slain of all the earth have fallen.
  5. You who have escaped the sword, Depart! Do not stay! Remember the LORD from afar, And let Jerusalem come to your mind.
  1. 세상의 어떤 뜬소문에도 낙담하지 마라. 이 해에는 이런 소문이 나돌고, 저 해에는 저런 소문이 나돌 것이다. 곳곳에 폭력이 판을 치고, 난리가 잇달아 일어나리라.
  2. 바빌론의 신상들을 벌할 날이 이제 다가왔다. 그 나라 방방곡곡 주검들이 뒹굴어 온 국민이 얼굴을 들 수 없게 되리라.
  3. 바빌론을 무너뜨릴 자 북녘에서 오리니, 하늘과 땅과 그 안에 있는 모든 것은 바빌론이 망하는 모양을 보고 즐거워하리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다.
  4. 온 세상에서 숱한 사람을 죽인 바빌론, 그 바빌론이 이스라엘 백성을 마구 죽인 죄벌로 망할 때가 되었다.
  5. 그런즉, 칼을 피한 자들아 빠져 나오너라. 머뭇거리지 말고 어서 떠나거라. 멀리서라도 이 야훼 생각을 하고 예루살렘을 너희 마음에 두어라."
  1. We are ashamed because we have heard reproach; Disgrace has covered our faces, For aliens have entered The holy places of the LORD'S house.
  2. "Therefore behold, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "When I will punish her idols, And the mortally wounded will groan throughout her land.
  3. "Though Babylon should ascend to the heavens, And though she should fortify her lofty stronghold, From Me destroyers will come to her," declares the LORD.
  4. The sound of an outcry from Babylon, And of great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans!
  5. For the LORD is going to destroy Babylon, And He will make her loud noise vanish from her. And their waves will roar like many waters; The tumult of their voices sounds forth.
  1. "우리의 귀를 때리는 욕설에 얼굴을 들지 못하게 되었습니다. 우리는 오랑캐들이 야훼의 성소를 짓밟으므로 우리의 몸둘 바를 몰랐습니다."
  2. "너희가 그토록 울부짖더니, 기다리던 날이 마침내 오고 말았다. 내가 말한다. 바빌론 신상들을 벌하는 날, 죽어가는 자의 신음 소리가 온 세상에 사무치리라.
  3. 요새를 하늘에 닿게 쌓아도 내가 침략자를 보내어 바빌론을 헐어버리리라. 이는 내 말이라, 어김이 없다."
  4. 바빌론에서 울부짖는 소리가 난다. 바빌론 온 나라가 무너진다.
  5. 야훼께서 바빌론에 쳐들어가신다. 파도 소리 요란하게 밀려오는 바다처럼 큰소리치던 바빌론을 잠잠하게 하신다.
  1. For the destroyer is coming against her, against Babylon, And her mighty men will be captured, Their bows are shattered; For the LORD is a God of recompense, He will fully repay.
  2. "I will make her princes and her wise men drunk, Her governors, her prefects and her mighty men, That they may sleep a perpetual sleep and not wake up," Declares the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
  3. Thus says the LORD of hosts, "The broad wall of Babylon will be completely razed And her high gates will be set on fire; So the peoples will toil for nothing, And the nations become exhausted only for fire."
  1. 침략자가 바빌론에 쳐들어가 활을 꺾고 용사들을 붙잡아간다. 야훼는 상벌을 내리시는 하느님, 바빌론을 단단히 벌하시리라.
  2. "나는 바빌론의 대신들과 현자들, 지방장관들과 영주들, 용사들을 취하게 하리라. 아주 잠들어 깨어나지 못하게 하리라. 이는 내가 왕으로서 하는 말, 내 이름은 만군의 야훼다.
  3. 나 만군의 야훼가 선언한다. 바빌론의 두꺼운 성벽은 아주 허물어지고 그 높은 성문들은 불에 타리라. 뭇 백성이 힘들여 만든 것이 헛된 일이 되고 부족들이 애써 이룬 것이 재가 되고 말리라."
