스바냐

  스바냐가 예언 활동하던 당시의 유다는 종교적 죄악과 지도자들의 압제와 포학이 만연해 있었다. 이에 스바냐는 ‘야웨의 큰 날’에 전 세계와 유다에게 임할 하나님의 심판을 경고하여 회개를 촉구하였고, 그날 하나님께서 회심한 이방인과 그의 백성을 구원할 것을 선포했다.

  스바냐는 유다 주변 국가들에게 임할 심판을 예언하고 예루살렘의 죄를 언급한 후, 하나님께서 그의 백성을 다시 모으고 구속하시며 회복시키시는 때가 올 것이라고 예언하고 있다.

 

 

스바냐 1:1-3:20

 스바냐는 우상 숭배와 유다의 지도자, 상인, 그리고 야웨를 경외하지 않는 사람들이 행한 모든 죄를 지적하면서 야웨의 날의 심판이 가까웠음을 말하였다. 그는 예루살렘에 임할 하나님의 심판을 선포한 후, 그 후에 이루어질 열방과 이스라엘의 남은 자에 대한 구원과 회복을 예언하였다.
  
  야웨의 날(1:1-3:20)    
 
  1. The word of the LORD which came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah:
  2. "I will completely remove all things From the face of the earth," declares the LORD.
  3. "I will remove man and beast; I will remove the birds of the sky And the fish of the sea, And the ruins along with the wicked; And I will cut off man from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.
  4. "So I will stretch out My hand against Judah And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, And the names of the idolatrous priests along with the priests.
  5. "And those who bow down on the housetops to the host of heaven, And those who bow down and swear to the LORD and yet swear by Milcom,
  1. 스바니야에게 내린 야훼의 말씀. 스바니야의 아버지는 구시요, 그 윗대는 게달리야, 그 윗대는 아마리야, 그 윗대는 히즈키야이다. 스바니야가 말씀을 받은 것은 아몬의 아들 요시야 왕이 유다를 다스릴 때였다.
  2. "땅 위에 있는 것은 무엇이건 나 말끔히 쓸어버리리라." 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  3. "사람도 짐승도 쓸어버리고 공중의 새도 바다의 고기도 쓸어버리리라. 악당들을 거꾸러뜨리며 땅에서 사람의 씨를 말리리라." 야훼의 말씀이시다.
  4. "나는 손을 들어 유다 국민과 예루살렘 온 성민을 치리라. 여기 얼마 남지 않은 바알의 신상들을 없애고 그 사제라는 것들을 이름도 없이 쓸어버리리라.
  5. 지붕 위에서 하늘의 별들을 예배하는 것들, 야훼를 예배하면서도 맹세는 밀곰을 두고 하는 것들,
  1. And those who have turned back from following the LORD, And those who have not sought the LORD or inquired of Him."
  2. Be silent before the Lord GOD! For the day of the LORD is near, For the LORD has prepared a sacrifice, He has consecrated His guests.
  3. "Then it will come about on the day of the LORD'S sacrifice That I will punish the princes, the king's sons And all who clothe themselves with foreign garments.
  4. "And I will punish on that day all who leap on the temple threshold, Who fill the house of their lord with violence and deceit.
  5. "On that day," declares the LORD, "There will be the sound of a cry from the Fish Gate, A wail from the Second Quarter, And a loud crash from the hills.
  1. 알아볼 일이 있어도 야훼를 찾지 아니하고 등지고 떠나가는 것들을 나 없애버리리라."
  2. 주 야훼 앞에서 입을 다물어라. 야훼께서 오실 날이 다가왔다. 야훼께서는 이미 제물을 마련하시고 손님들을 목욕재계시키셨다.
  3. "나 야훼가 제물을 잡을 날이 온다. 그 날에 남의 나라 옷을 입고 거들먹거리는 고관들과 왕족들을 나는 벌하리라.
  4. 문지방이 닳게 넘나들며 속임수로 남을 등쳐 상전의 궁궐을 채우는 것들을 그 날 나는 벌하리라."
  5. "그 날이 오면," 야훼의 말씀이시다. "생선문에서 아우성 소리가, 새 장터에서 울부짖는 소리가, 이 언덕 저 언덕에서 무섭게 깨지는 소리가 나리라.
  1. "Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar, For all the people of Canaan will be silenced; All who weigh out silver will be cut off.
  2. "It will come about at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And I will punish the men Who are stagnant in spirit, Who say in their hearts, 'The LORD will not do good or evil!'
  3. "Moreover, their wealth will become plunder And their houses desolate; Yes, they will build houses but not inhabit them, And plant vineyards but not drink their wine."
  4. Near is the great day of the LORD, Near and coming very quickly; Listen, the day of the LORD! In it the warrior cries out bitterly.
  5. A day of wrath is that day, A day of trouble and distress, A day of destruction and desolation, A day of darkness and gloom, A day of clouds and thick darkness,
  1. 방앗간 거리 사람들아, 울부짖어라. 장사치들은 간데없고 돈 거래하는 자들도 자취를 감추리라."
  2. "그 때가 되면 나는 불을 켜들고 예루살렘을 뒤지리라. 팔자가 늘어져 스스로 말하기를 '야훼가 무슨 복을 주랴? 무슨 화를 주랴?' 하는 자들을 벌하리라.
  3. 그들의 재산은 털리고 집은 헐리리니, 일껏 집을 짓고도 거기에서 살지 못하고 일껏 포도 농사를 하고도 술을 빚어 마시지 못하리라."
  4. 야훼께서 오실 무서운 날이 다가왔다. 득달같이 다가왔다. 야훼께서 오실 날, 역마보다 날쌔게 오는구나. 군인보다도 잽싸게 닥치는구나.
  5. 그 날은 야훼의 분노가 터지는 날, 모두들 죽도록 고생하는 날, 폭풍에 휩쓸려가는 날, 먹구름이 뒤덮이는 어두운 날,
  1. A day of trumpet and battle cry Against the fortified cities And the high corner towers.
  2. I will bring distress on men So that they will walk like the blind, Because they have sinned against the LORD; And their blood will be poured out like dust And their flesh like dung.
  3. Neither their silver nor their gold Will be able to deliver them On the day of the LORD'S wrath; And all the earth will be devoured In the fire of His jealousy, For He will make a complete end, Indeed a terrifying one, Of all the inhabitants of the earth.
  1. 나팔 소리 울리며 함성이 터지는 날이다. "저 든든한 성을 쳐라. 귀퉁이에 솟아 있는 망대를 쳐라."
  2. "내가 사람들을 몰아치리니, 그들은 소경처럼 더듬거리다가 피를 땅에 뿌리고 배알을 거름덩이처럼 쏟으리라. 그들이 나에게 죄를 지은 탓이다.
  3. 은과 금이 아무리 많아도 그것으로 그 난을 면하지는 못하리라." 야훼의 분노가 타오르는 날, 온 세상은 활활 타버리리라. 그가 세상 사람을 송두리째 순식간에 멸하시리라.
 
 
  1. Gather yourselves together, yes, gather, O nation without shame,
  2. Before the decree takes effect-- The day passes like the chaff-- Before the burning anger of the LORD comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD'S anger comes upon you.
  3. Seek the LORD, All you humble of the earth Who have carried out His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the LORD'S anger.
  4. For Gaza will be abandoned And Ashkelon a desolation; Ashdod will be driven out at noon And Ekron will be uprooted.
  5. Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, The nation of the Cherethites! The word of the LORD is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines; And I will destroy you So that there will be no inhabitant.
  1. 너희 천대받는 겨레들아, 야훼께서 진노를 터뜨리시기 전에 모여오너라. 야훼께서 크게 노하시면, 검불처럼 쓸려가리니, 그 날이 오기 전에 모여오너라.
  3. 너희는 야훼를 찾아라. 하느님의 법대로 살다가 고생하는 이 땅 모든 백성들아, 바로 살도록 힘써라. 겸손한 마음을 갖도록 애써라. 그리하면 야훼께서 크게 노하시는 날 너희만은 화를 면하리라.
  4. 가자는 정녕 벌을 받아 황폐하게 되고 아스클론은 쑥밭이 되리라. 아스돗 시민들은 대낮에 쫓겨나고 에크론은 뿌리째 뽑히리라.
  5. 바닷가 일대에 사는 사람들, 그렛 섬에서 온 민족들은 망하리라. 야훼께서 이렇게 언도를 내리셨다. "내가 불레셋 온 나라를 굴복시켜 주민이 하나도 없게 멸하리라."
  1. So the seacoast will be pastures, With caves for shepherds and folds for flocks.
  2. And the coast will be For the remnant of the house of Judah, They will pasture on it In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down at evening; For the LORD their God will care for them And restore their fortune.
  3. "I have heard the taunting of Moab And the revilings of the sons of Ammon, With which they have taunted My people And become arrogant against their territory.
  4. "Therefore, as I live," declares the LORD of hosts, The God of Israel, "Surely Moab will be like Sodom And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah-- A place possessed by nettles and salt pits, And a perpetual desolation The remnant of My people will plunder them And the remainder of My nation will inherit them."
  5. This they will have in return for their pride, because they have taunted and become arrogant against the people of the LORD of hosts.
  1. 바닷가 일대는 풀밭이 되어 목자들이 양떼나 몰고 다니는 목장이 되고 돌담을 쌓아 양떼들을 쉬게 하는 곳이 되리라.
  2. 바닷가 일대는 살아 남은 유다 가문이 차지하여, 양떼에게 풀을 뜯기다가 저녁이 되면 아스클론 집에 가서 쉬리라. 그들의 하느님 야훼께서 찾아오시어 포로 생활을 마치고 돌아오게 하시리라.
  3. "모압이 퍼붓는 욕설을 나는 들었다. 암몬족이 퍼붓는 악담도 들었다. 그들은 이 나라 접경까지 와서 거만을 떨며 내 백성에게 욕설을 퍼부었다.
  4. 그래서 나는 어떤 일이 있어도," 이스라엘의 하느님, 만군의 야훼께서 하시는 말씀이시다. "모압을 소돔처럼 만들리라. 암몬족을 고모라처럼 만들리라. 잡초나 우거지고 소금이나 캐는 곳, 언제까지나 쑥밭으로 남게 하리라. 살아 남은 내 백성, 이 겨레가 그들을 털고 그 땅을 차지하리라."
  5. 모압과 암몬은 으스대며 만군의 야훼의 백성에게 욕설을 퍼부었다. 그렇게 거만을 떨다가 이 모양이 된 것이다.
  1. The LORD will be terrifying to them, for He will starve all the gods of the earth; and all the coastlands of the nations will bow down to Him, everyone from his own place.
  2. "You also, O Ethiopians, will be slain by My sword."
  3. And He will stretch out His hand against the north And destroy Assyria, And He will make Nineveh a desolation, Parched like the wilderness.
  4. Flocks will lie down in her midst, All beasts which range in herds; Both the pelican and the hedgehog Will lodge in the tops of her pillars; Birds will sing in the window, Desolation will be on the threshold; For He has laid bare the cedar work.
  5. This is the exultant city Which dwells securely, Who says in her heart, "I am, and there is no one besides me " How she has become a desolation, A resting place for beasts! Everyone who passes by her will hiss And wave his hand in contempt.
  1. 야훼께서 세상의 모든 신을 맥 못쓰게 만드시리니, 그 날에 사람들은 야훼를 공경하리라. 바다를 끼고 사는 뭇 민족들도 모두 저희의 고장에서 야훼를 예배하리라.
  2. "에티오피아 사람들아, 너희도 내 칼에 맞아 죽으리라."
  3. 야훼께서 북녘으로 손을 뻗으시어 아시리아를 멸하시리라. 니느웨를 쑥밭으로 만드시리니, 사막처럼 메마른 곳이 되리라.
  4. 골짜기에 사는 갖가지 짐승떼가 그 복판에서 쉬고 남은 돌기둥 위에서는 갈가마귀나 올빼미가 밤을 지새우며 송백 재목은 삭아버리고 까마귀들이 창문턱에 모여앉아 지저귀리라.
  5. 천하를 호령하는 자리에 앉아 세상에는 저밖에 없다면서 뽐내고 흥청대더니, '바로 여기가 그 도시렷다. 그런데 어찌 이 모양이 되었지? 짐승이나 깃들이는 곳이 되다니.' 지나가는 사람마다 이렇게 혀를 차며 주먹질을 하리라.
 
 
  1. Woe to her who is rebellious and defiled, The tyrannical city!
  2. She heeded no voice, She accepted no instruction She did not trust in the LORD, She did not draw near to her God.
  3. Her princes within her are roaring lions, Her judges are wolves at evening; They leave nothing for the morning.
  4. Her prophets are reckless, treacherous men; Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.
  5. The LORD is righteous within her; He will do no injustice Every morning He brings His justice to light; He does not fail But the unjust knows no shame.
  1. 이 저주받을 도성아, 야훼께 반항이나 하는 더러운 도성아, 압제나 일삼는 도성아,
  2. 불러도 듣지 아니하고 징계를 해도 코웃음만 치며 제 하느님 야훼를 멀리하고 의지하지도 않는구나.
  3. 귀하신 몸들은 성 안에서 사자처럼 으르렁거리고 판사들은 벌판을 주름잡는 늑대처럼 뼈도 안 남기고 사람을 씹어 삼킨다.
  4. 예언자들은 제 잘난 멋에 사람들을 속이고 사제들은 성소를 더럽히며 법을 짓밟는다.
  5. 그러나 그 안에 거하시는 야훼께서는 공변되시어 부당한 일 아니 하신다. 아침마다 햇빛처럼 밝은 판결을 내리시는데 그래도 죄인들은 부끄러움을 모르는구나.
  1. "I have cut off nations; Their corner towers are in ruins. I have made their streets desolate, With no one passing by; Their cities are laid waste, Without a man, without an inhabitant.
  2. "I said, 'Surely you will revere Me, Accept instruction ' So her dwelling will not be cut off According to all that I have appointed concerning her But they were eager to corrupt all their deeds.
  3. "Therefore wait for Me," declares the LORD, "For the day when I rise up as a witness Indeed, My decision is to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them My indignation, All My burning anger; For all the earth will be devoured By the fire of My zeal.
  4. "For then I will give to the peoples purified lips, That all of them may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him shoulder to shoulder.
  5. "From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia My worshipers, My dispersed ones, Will bring My offerings.
  1. "나는 뭇 민족을 뿌리뽑으리라. 성 모퉁이 망대를 헐고 성읍들은 사람의 그림자도 비치지 않는 돌무더기로 만들며 거리마다 휩쓸어 사람 하나 살지 못하게 하리라.
  2. 너만은 나를 공경하려니, 너만은 내 징계를 제대로 받으려니, 너만은 내가 내린 벌들을 잊지 않으려니 하였더니 도리어 새벽부터 돌아가며 못된 짓만 하는구나.
  3. 그러니, 너희는 참고 기다려라." 야훼의 말씀이시다. "내가 몸을 일으켜 그런 것들을 벌할 날이 오면, 만방에서 뭇 민족을 불러모으고 분노를 마구 터뜨려 한꺼번에 벌하리라. 나의 진노가 불같이 타올라 온 땅을 살라버리리라.
  4. 그런 다음 뭇 민족의 입술을 정하게 하여 모두 야훼의 이름을 부르며 어깨를 나란히 하고 그를 섬기게 하리라.
  5. 에티오피아 강 저편으로 추방했던 자들도 예물을 가지고 강을 건너 나를 예배하러 오게 하리라."
  1. "In that day you will feel no shame Because of all your deeds By which you have rebelled against Me; For then I will remove from your midst Your proud, exulting ones, And you will never again be haughty On My holy mountain.
  2. "But I will leave among you A humble and lowly people, And they will take refuge in the name of the LORD.
  3. "The remnant of Israel will do no wrong And tell no lies, Nor will a deceitful tongue Be found in their mouths; For they will feed and lie down With no one to make them tremble."
  4. Shout for joy, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!
  5. The LORD has taken away His judgments against you, He has cleared away your enemies The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst; You will fear disaster no more.
  1. "그 날이 오면, 나를 거역하여 저지른 온갖 일들을 너는 부끄러워하지 않아도 되리라. 그 때에 내가 거만을 떨며 흥청거리는 자를 네 안에서 쓸어버리면 나의 거룩한 산에서는 거만한 모습이 자취를 감출 텐데 무엇을 다시 부끄러워하랴.
  2. 내가 기를 못 펴는 가난한 사람만을 네 안에 남기리니 이렇게 살아 남은 이스라엘은 야훼의 이름만 믿고 안심하리라.
  3. 그들은 남을 억울하게 속일 줄도 모르고 거짓말을 할 줄도 모르며 간사한 혀로 사기칠 줄도 모른다. 그러나 배불리 먹고 편히 쉬리니, 아무도 들볶지 못하리라."
  4. 수도 시온아, 환성을 올려라. 이스라엘아, 큰소리로 외쳐라. 수도 예루살렘아, 마음껏 기뻐하며 축제를 베풀어라.
  5. 야훼께서 원수들을 쫓으셨다. 너를 벌하던 자들을 몰아내셨다. 이스라엘의 임금, 야훼께서 너희와 함께 계시니 다시는 화를 입을까 걱정하지 마라.
  1. In that day it will be said to Jerusalem: "Do not be afraid, O Zion; Do not let your hands fall limp.
  2. "The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
  3. "I will gather those who grieve about the appointed feasts-- They came from you, O Zion; The reproach of exile is a burden on them.
  4. "Behold, I am going to deal at that time With all your oppressors, I will save the lame And gather the outcast, And I will turn their shame into praise and renown In all the earth.
  5. "At that time I will bring you in, Even at the time when I gather you together; Indeed, I will give you renown and praise Among all the peoples of the earth, When I restore your fortunes before your eyes," Says the LORD.
  1. 그 날이 오면, 예루살렘에 이렇게 일러주어라. "시온아, 두려워 마라. 기운을 내어라.
  2. 너를 구해 내신 용사 네 하느님 야훼께서 네 안에 계신다. 너를 보고 기뻐 반색하시리니 사랑도 새삼스러워라. 명절이라도 된 듯 기쁘게 더덩실 춤을 추시리라."
  3. "나는 너에게 내리던 재앙을 거두어들여 다시는 수모를 받지 않게 하리라.
  4. 그 때가 되면, 너를 억누르던 자를 다 없애버리고 절름발이는 고쳐주며 길 잃은 자들을 찾아내어 고국으로 데려오리라. 그 때가 되면, 온 세상에서 내 백성은 칭송을 자자하게 받으며 이름을 떨치리라.
  5. 그 때가 되면, 내가 너희를 데려오리라. 너희를 이리로 모아들이리라. 내가 너희의 면전에서 너희에게 광복을 안겨줄 때, 너희는 세계 만방에서 칭송을 자자하게 받으며 이름을 떨치리라." 야훼께서 말씀하신다.
