열왕기상 9:1-10:29

 하나님께서는 다시 솔로몬에게 임하셔서 다윗 언약을 상기시켜 주셨고, 하나님의 지혜를 얻은 솔로몬은 건축 사업과 대외 무역을 통해 부와 번영을 이루었다. 그의 명성은 이방 세계까지 널리 알려졌으며, 이를 확인하고자 방문한 스바 여왕은 그의 지혜와 부귀 영화에 탄복하였다.
  
  하나님의 언약과 건축 사업(9:1-9:28)    
 
  1. Now it came about when Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all that Solomon desired to do,
  2. that the LORD appeared to Solomon a second time, as He had appeared to him at Gibeon.
  3. The LORD said to him, "I have heard your prayer and your supplication, which you have made before Me; I have consecrated this house which you have built by putting My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.
  4. "As for you, if you will walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you and will keep My statutes and My ordinances,
  5. then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, just as I promised to your father David, saying, 'You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.'
  1. 솔로몬이 여호와의 성전과 왕궁과 그 밖에 자기가 짓고 싶었던 모든 것을 다 완성했을 때
  2. 여호와께서 전에 기브온에서 나타나셨던 것처럼 그에게 다시 나타나셔서
  3. 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '나는 네가 나에게 하는 기도를 다 듣고 네가 지은 이 성전을 거룩하게 하였다. 이 곳은 내가 영원히 경배를 받을 곳이므로 내 마음과 눈이 항상 이 성전에 머물러 있을 것이다.
  4. 만일 네가 너의 아버지 다윗처럼 내 앞에서 정직하고 진실하게 살며 나의 모든 법과 명령을 지키면
  5. 내가 너의 아버지 다윗에게 이스라엘의 왕위에 오를 사람이 네 집안에서 끊어지지 않게 하겠다고 말한 그 약속을 내가 지킬 것이다.
  1. "But if you or your sons indeed turn away from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,
  2. then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them, and the house which I have consecrated for My name, I will cast out of My sight So Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
  3. "And this house will become a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by will be astonished and hiss and say, 'Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?'
  4. "And they will say, 'Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and adopted other gods and worshiped them and served them, therefore the LORD has brought all this adversity on them.'"
  5. It came about at the end of twenty years in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD and the king's house
  1. 그러나 만일 너와 네 자손이 나를 떠나 다른 신을 섬기고 내 법과 명령을 지키지 않으면
  2. 나는 이스라엘 백성을 내가 그들에게 준 이 땅에서 제거할 것이며 내 이름을 위하여 내가 거룩하게 한 이 성전마저도 버릴 것이다. 그러면 이스라엘은 온 세계 사람들에게 웃음거리와 조소의 대상이 될 것이다.
  3. 그때 이 성전은 완전히 폐허가 될 것이며 지나가는 사람들이 이것을 보고 놀라며 어째서 여호와가 이 땅과 성전을 이렇게 하셨을까? 하고 물으면
  4. '그거야 그들이 자기들의 조상들을 이집트에서 인도해 낸 그들의 하나님 여호와를 버리고 다른 신을 섬기므로 여호와가 그들에게 이 모든 재앙을 내렸기 때문이 아닌가!' 하고 서로 대답할 것이다.'
  5. 솔로몬은 20년이 걸려 여호와의 성전과 자기 궁전을 짓고 나서
  1. (Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress timber and gold according to all his desire), then King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
  2. So Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, and they did not please him.
  3. He said, "What are these cities which you have given me, my brother?" So they were called the land of Cabul to this day.
  4. And Hiram sent to the king 120 talents of gold.
  5. Now this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon levied to build the house of the LORD, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
  1. 두로의 히람 왕에게 갈릴리 땅에 있는 20개의 성을 주었다. 이것은 그가 솔로몬의 요구대로 백향목과 잣나무와 금을 제공하였기 때문이었다.

  1. For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and captured Gezer and burned it with fire, and killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and had given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife.
  2. So Solomon rebuilt Gezer and the lower Beth-horon
  3. and Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,
  4. and all the storage cities which Solomon had, even the cities for his chariots and the cities for his horsemen, and all that it pleased Solomon to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land under his rule.
  5. As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were not of the sons of Israel,
  1. (이 게셀은 이집트 왕이 침략하여 성에 불을 지르고 가나안 사람들을 죽여 뺏은 것으로 솔로몬에게 자기 딸을 시집보낼 때 그녀에게 결혼 선물로 준 땅인데
  2. 솔로몬이 이것을 재건하였다.) 솔로몬은 또 그 사역군들을 이용하여 아래 벧-호론,
  3. 바알랏, 유다 광야에 있는 다말,
  4. 그리고 식량을 보관할 성들과 전차와 마병을 수용할 성들, 그 밖에 예루살렘과 레바논을 포함한 온 땅에 그가 짓고 싶은 것은 모두 건축하였다.
  5. 솔로몬이 동원한 이 사역군들은 이스라엘 민족이 가나안 땅을 정복할 때 죽이지 않고 살려 둔 자들이다. 이들은 아모리 사람, 헷 사람, 브리스 사람, 히위 사람, 여부스 사람들이며 그 후손들이 오늘날까지 계속 노예 생활을 하고 있다.
  1. their descendants who were left after them in the land whom the sons of Israel were unable to destroy utterly, from them Solomon levied forced laborers, even to this day.
  2. But Solomon did not make slaves of the sons of Israel; for they were men of war, his servants, his princes, his captains, his chariot commanders, and his horsemen.
  3. These were the chief officers who were over Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people doing the work.
  4. As soon as Pharaoh's daughter came up from the city of David to her house which Solomon had built for her, then he built the Millo.
  5. Now three times in a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he built to the LORD, burning incense with them on the altar which was before the LORD. So he finished the house.

  2. 그러나 솔로몬은 이스라엘 사람을 사역군으로 동원하지는 않았다. 이것은 그들이 군인, 관리, 군 지휘관, 전차 부대 대장, 그리고 마병으로 일하였기 때문이었다.

  1. King Solomon also built a fleet of ships in Ezion-geber, which is near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.
  2. And Hiram sent his servants with the fleet, sailors who knew the sea, along with the servants of Solomon.
  3. They went to Ophir and took four hundred and twenty talents of gold from there, and brought it to King Solomon.
  1. 그리고 솔로몬 왕은 아카바만의 엘랏 근처에 있는 에시온-게벨에서 많은 배를 건조했으며
  2. 히람 왕은 경험 많은 선원들을 보내 솔로몬의 종들과 함께 배를 타게 하였다.
  3. 그들은 오빌에 가서 약 14톤이나 되는 금을 구해 솔로몬에게 갖다 주었다.
 
  스바 여왕의 방문(10:1-10:13)    
 
  1. Now when the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with difficult questions.
  2. So she came to Jerusalem with a very large retinue, with camels carrying spices and very much gold and precious stones. When she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart.
  3. Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was hidden from the king which he did not explain to her.
  4. When the queen of Sheba perceived all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,
  5. the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the attendance of his waiters and their attire, his cupbearers, and his stairway by which he went up to the house of the LORD, there was no more spirit in her.
  1. 스바 여왕이 솔로몬의 명성을 듣고 어려운 문제로 그를 시험하고자 예루살렘으로 왔다.
  2. 그녀는 많은 수행원을 거느리고 향료와 금과 보석을 낙타에 잔뜩 싣고 와서 솔로몬을 만나 물어 보고 싶은 것을 다 그에게 말하였다.
  3. 그래서 솔로몬은 스바 여왕의 질문에 모두 대답하였으며 어려워서 설명하지 못하는 문제가 하나도 없었다.
  4. 스바 여왕은 솔로몬의 지혜로운 말을 듣고 또 그가 건축한 궁전과
  5. 그의 식탁에 오르는 음식과 그의 대신들이 앉는 좌석과 수많은 신하들과 그들의 의복과 술을 따르며 시중드는 사람들과 성전에 드리는 제물을 보고 정신이 하나도 없었다.
  1. Then she said to the king, "It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.
  2. "Nevertheless I did not believe the reports, until I came and my eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. You exceed in wisdom and prosperity the report which I heard.
  3. "How blessed are your men, how blessed are these your servants who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom.
  4. "Blessed be the LORD your God who delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel; because the LORD loved Israel forever, therefore He made you king, to do justice and righteousness."
  5. She gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a very great amount of spices and precious stones. Never again did such abundance of spices come in as that which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon.
  1. 그때 스바 여왕이 솔로몬에게 말하였다. '내가 내 나라에서 당신의 업적과 지혜에 대해 들은 소문이 모두 사실이군요.
  2. 나는 그런 소문을 믿지 않았는데 이제 내가 직접 와서 보니 사실에 비해 내가 들은 것은 절반도 못 되며 당신의 지혜와 부는 소문보다 엄청납니다.
  3. 당신 앞에서 항상 당신의 지혜로운 말을 듣는 당신의 가족과 신하들은 얼마나 행복하겠습니까!
  4. 당신의 하나님 여호와를 찬양합니다. 여호와께서 이스라엘을 무척 사랑하셔서 당신을 택하여 왕으로 삼으시고 바르고 선한 정치를 하도록 하셨습니다.'
  5. 그리고서 스바 여왕은 자기가 가져온 약 4톤의 금과 아주 많은 향료와 보석을 솔로몬 왕에게 선물로 주었는데 솔로몬은 그처럼 많은 향료를 다시는 받아보지 못하였다.
  1. Also the ships of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir a very great number of almug trees and precious stones.
  2. The king made of the almug trees supports for the house of the LORD and for the king's house, also lyres and harps for the singers; such almug trees have not come in again nor have they been seen to this day.
  3. King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire which she requested, besides what he gave her according to his royal bounty. Then she turned and went to her own land together with her servants.
  1. (히람 왕의 배들이 오빌에서 금을 실어 올 때 많은 백단목과 보석도 함께 실어 왔다.
  2. 그래서 솔로몬 왕은 그 백단목으로 성전과 궁전의 난간을 만들고 성가대를 위해 수금과 비파를 만들었다. 이스라엘에 그처럼 많은 백단목이 수입 된 것은 전에도 없었고 그 이후에도 없었다.)
  3. 솔로몬 왕은 관례대로 주는 예물 외에도 그녀가 요구하는 것은 무엇이든지 다 주었다. 그러자 스바 여왕은 자기 신하들과 함께 본국으로 돌아갔다.
 
  솔로몬의 부와 영화(10:14-10:29)    
 
  1. Now the weight of gold which came in to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold,
  2. besides that from the traders and the wares of the merchants and all the kings of the Arabs and the governors of the country.
  3. King Solomon made 200 large shields of beaten gold, using 600 shekels of gold on each large shield.
  4. He made 300 shields of beaten gold, using three minas of gold on each shield, and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
  5. Moreover, the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with refined gold.
  1. 솔로몬이 상인들과 무역하는 사람들과 이스라엘 지방 장관들에게서 거둔 세금과 그리고 아라비아의 모든 왕들에게서 받는 조공 외에도 해마다 그에게 들어오는 금이 약 23톤이나 되었다.
  2. (14절과 같음)
  3. 솔로몬 왕은 금으로 약 3.5킬로그램의 큰 방패 200개와 약 1.7킬로그램의 작은 방패 300개를 만들어 레바논의 숲이라고 부르는 궁에 두었다.
  4. (16절과 같음)
  5. 그는 또 상아로 큰 왕좌를 만들어 그것을 순금으로 입혔다.
  1. There were six steps to the throne and a round top to the throne at its rear, and arms on each side of the seat, and two lions standing beside the arms.
  2. Twelve lions were standing there on the six steps on the one side and on the other; nothing like it was made for any other kingdom.
  3. All King Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None was of silver; it was not considered valuable in the days of Solomon.
  4. For the king had at sea the ships of Tarshish with the ships of Hiram; once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold and silver, ivory and apes and peacocks.
  5. So King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.
  1. 그 왕좌에는 여섯 개의 계단이 있고 그 왕좌의 등받침 꼭대기는 둥근 모양으로 되어 있었다. 그리고 앉는 자리 양쪽에는 팔걸이가 있으며 바로 그 곁에는 사자가 한 마리씩 서 있고
  2. 또 그 여섯 계단 양쪽 끝에는 열 두 마리의 사자가 각각 한 마리씩 서 있었는데 이런 웅장한 왕좌는 세상의 그 어느 나라에서도 찾아볼 수 없는 것이었다.
  3. 그리고 솔로몬 왕의 술잔은 모두 금으로 만들어졌으며 레바논 숲의 궁에서 사용하는 모든 그릇도 다 금으로 되어 있었다. 그러나 그 당시에 은은 별로 소중하게 여기지 않았으므로 은제품은 만들지 않았다.
  4. 또 솔로몬 왕에게는 히람의 배들과 함께 다시스로 왕래하며 무역하는 상선도 있었다. 그 상선들은 금, 은, 상아, 원숭이, 공작새를 잔뜩 싣고 3년마다 한 번씩 이스라엘 항구로 돌아왔다.
  5. 솔로몬 왕은 세상의 그 어느 왕보다도 부유하고 지혜로왔으므로
  1. All the earth was seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.
  2. They brought every man his gift, articles of silver and gold, garments, weapons, spices, horses, and mules, so much year by year.
  3. Now Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horsemen, and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.
  4. The king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem, and he made cedars as plentiful as sycamore trees that are in the lowland.
  5. Also Solomon's import of horses was from Egypt and Kue, and the king's merchants procured them from Kue for a price.
  1. 세상의 모든 사람들이 솔로몬을 찾아와서 하나님이 그에게 주신 지혜에 대하여 듣고 싶어하였다.
  2. 그래서 사람들은 해마다 선물을 가지고 찾아왔다. 그 선물들은 금은 제품, 의복, 무기, 향료, 말, 노새와 같은 것들이었다.
  3. 솔로몬은 1,400대의 전차와 12,000명의 마병을 확보하여 일부는 예루살렘의 왕궁에 두고 나머지는 여러 전차성에 배치하였다.
  4. 그 당시에 예루살렘에는 은이 돌처럼 흔하고 백향목이 저지대에 일반 뽕나무처럼 많았다.
  5. 솔로몬은 말과 전차를 이집트에서 도매 가격으로 수입해 들였다. 전차 한 대의 값은 은 약 6.8킬로그램이었고 말 한 마리의 값은 은 약 1.7킬로그램이었다. 이렇게 사들인 말과 전차는 헷 사람의 왕들과 시리아 왕들에게 다시 팔렸다.
  1. A chariot was imported from Egypt for 600 shekels of silver, and a horse for 150; and by the same means they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of the Arameans.
