예레미야 17:1-18:23

 하나님께서는 물가의 푸른 나무와 어리석은 자고새의 비유를 통해, 하나님을 떠나 멸망받게 된 유다 백성들의 구원자가 오직 하나님뿐임을 깨우쳐 주셨다. 예레미야는 하나님을 의뢰하는 실천적 교훈으로 안식일 성수를 촉구하였다. 또한 토기장이의 비유를 통해 하나님의 절대 주권을 증거하고 돌이킬 수 없는 심판을 예고하면서 회개를 촉구하였다. 그러나 완악한 백성들이 자신을 치려 하자, 그는 하나님께 그들에 대한 징계를 호소했다.
  
  유다의 죄와 심판(17:1-18:17)    
 
  1. The sin of Judah is written down with an iron stylus; With a diamond point it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart And on the horns of their altars,
  2. As they remember their children, So they remember their altars and their Asherim By green trees on the high hills.
  3. O mountain of Mine in the countryside, I will give over your wealth and all your treasures for booty, Your high places for sin throughout your borders.
  4. And you will, even of yourself, let go of your inheritance That I gave you; And I will make you serve your enemies In the land which you do not know; For you have kindled a fire in My anger Which will burn forever.
  5. Thus says the LORD, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the LORD.
  1. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '유다의 죄는 그들의 마음과 제단 뿔에 철필과 금광석 촉으로 새겨졌다.
  2. 그들의 자녀들까지도 산언덕의 푸른 나무곁에 세워진 단들과 아세라 여신상을 잘 기억하고 있다.
  3. 들에 있는 나의 산아, 네가 온 땅에 범죄하였으므로 내가 너의 재산과 모든 보물과 산당을 약탈당하게 하겠다.
  4. 너는 네 자신의 잘못으로 내가 너에게 준 유산을 잃어버리게 될 것이다. 내가 너를 낯선 땅에서 네 원수를 섬기게 하겠다. 이것은 네가 내 분노의 불을 일으켜 영원히 타오르게 하였기 때문이다.'
  5. 여호와께서 말씀하신다. '사람을 의지하고 나 여호와를 떠난 사람은 저주를 받을 것이다.
  1. "For he will be like a bush in the desert And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt without inhabitant.
  2. "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD.
  3. "For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.
  4. "The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?
  5. "I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.
  1. 그는 사막의 가시덤불 같을 것이며 아무런 희망도 없이 사람이 살지 않는 사막의 메마르고 염분이 많은 땅에서 살게 될 것이다.
  2. 그러나 나 여호와를 믿고 의지하는 사람은 복을 받을 것이다.
  3. 그는 물가에 심겨져서 그 뿌리를 시내로 뻗어 더위가 와도 두려워하지 않고, 그 잎이 언제나 푸르고 싱싱하며, 가뭄이 심한 해에도 걱정이 없고, 항상 열매를 맺는 나무와 같은 자이다.
  4. 그 무엇보다도 거짓되고 부패한 것은 사람의 마음이다. 누가 그런 마음을 알 수 있겠는가?
  5. 그러나 나 여호와는 마음을 살피고 그 깊은 동기를 조사해서 각 사람이 행한 대로 갚아 주겠다.
  1. "As a partridge that hatches eggs which it has not laid, So is he who makes a fortune, but unjustly; In the midst of his days it will forsake him, And in the end he will be a fool."
  2. A glorious throne on high from the beginning Is the place of our sanctuary.
  3. O LORD, the hope of Israel, All who forsake You will be put to shame Those who turn away on earth will be written down, Because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, even the LORD.
  4. Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; Save me and I will be saved, For You are my praise.
  5. Look, they keep saying to me, "Where is the word of the LORD? Let it come now!"
  1. 부정한 방법으로 돈을 모아 부자가 된 사람은 자기가 낳지 않은 알을 품고 있는 자고새와 같아서 언젠가는 그것이 자고새를 버리고 날아가 버리듯 그의 부도 조만간에 그를 떠날 것이니 결국 그는 어리석은 자가 되고 말 것이다.'
  2. 우리의 성소는 영광스러운 보좌와 같아서 처음부터 높은 산 위에 서 있습니다.
  3. 이스라엘의 희망이신 여호와여, 주를 버리는 자는 모두 수치를 당할 것입니다. 여호와를 떠나는 자들이 흙에 기록된 이름처럼 사라질 것은 그들이 생수의 샘이신 여호와를 버렸기 때문입니다.
  4. 여호와여, 주는 내가 찬양하는 분이십니다. 나를 고치소서. 그러면 내가 낫겠습니다. 나를 건지소서. 그러면 내가 구원을 얻겠습니다.
  5. 사람들이 나에게 '여호와의 말씀이 어디 있느냐? 있으면 당장 그 말씀이 이루어지게 하라.' 고 말합니다.
  1. But as for me, I have not hurried away from being a shepherd after You, Nor have I longed for the woeful day; You Yourself know that the utterance of my lips Was in Your presence.
  2. Do not be a terror to me; You are my refuge in the day of disaster.
  3. Let those who persecute me be put to shame, but as for me, let me not be put to shame; Let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed Bring on them a day of disaster, And crush them with twofold destruction!
  4. Thus the LORD said to me, "Go and stand in the public gate, through which the kings of Judah come in and go out, as well as in all the gates of Jerusalem;
  5. and say to them, 'Listen to the word of the LORD, kings of Judah, and all Judah and all inhabitants of Jerusalem who come in through these gates:
  1. 내가 목자의 직분에서 떠나지 않았으며 재앙의 날을 원치 않았던 것을 주는 아십니다. 또 주께서는 내가 한 말도 다 알고 계십니다.
  2. 주는 나에게 두려움이 되지 마소서. 재앙의 날에 주는 나의 피난처이십니다.
  3. 나를 박해하는 자들이 수치를 당하게 하시고 내가 수치를 당하는 일이 없게 하소서. 그들을 놀라게 하시고 나는 놀라지 않게 하시며 재앙을 내리셔서 그들을 아주 없애 버리소서.
  4. 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 가서 유다 왕들이 드나드는 백성들의 문과 예루살렘의 모든 문에 서서
  5. 백성들에게 말하라. 이 문으로 들어오는 유다 왕들과 유다와 예루살렘의 모든 백성들아, 여호와의 말씀을 들어라.
  1. 'Thus says the LORD, "Take heed for yourselves, and do not carry any load on the sabbath day or bring anything in through the gates of Jerusalem.
  2. "You shall not bring a load out of your houses on the sabbath day nor do any work, but keep the sabbath day holy, as I commanded your forefathers.
  3. "Yet they did not listen or incline their ears, but stiffened their necks in order not to listen or take correction.
  4. "But it will come about, if you listen attentively to Me," declares the LORD, "to bring no load in through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but to keep the sabbath day holy by doing no work on it,
  5. then there will come in through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their princes, the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.
  1. 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '너희는 안식일에 짐을 지고 예루살렘의 문으로 들어오지 않도록 조심하라.
  2. 안식일에는 너희 집에서 짐을 실어내거나 아무 일도 하지 말고 내가 너희 조상들에게 명령한 대로 안식일을 거룩하게 지켜라.
  3. 너희 조상들은 내 말에 귀를 기울여 듣지 않고 오히려 고집을 피우며 불순종하고 가르침을 받으려고 하지 않았다.
  4. 그러나 만일 너희가 내 말을 유의해서 듣고 안식일에 짐을 지고 이 성문으로 들어오지 않으며 아무 일도 하지 않고 안식일을 거룩하게 지키면
  5. 다윗의 왕위를 계승하는 왕들과 그 신하들이 전차와 말을 타고 유다와 예루살렘 백성과 함께 이 성문으로 들어올 것이며 예루살렘은 영구히 번영을 누릴 것이다.
  1. "They will come in from the cities of Judah and from the environs of Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin, from the lowland, from the hill country and from the Negev, bringing burnt offerings, sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, and bringing sacrifices of thanksgiving to the house of the LORD.
  2. "But if you do not listen to Me to keep the sabbath day holy by not carrying a load and coming in through the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in its gates and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem and not be quenched."'"
  1. 그리고 유다 성들과 예루살렘 주변의 마을들과 베냐민 땅과 저지대와 산간 지대와 네겝 지방에서 사람들이 불로 태워 바칠 번제물과 희생제물과 소제로 드릴 곡식과 향과 감사의 제물을 가지고 나 여호와의 집으로 찾아올 것이다.
  2. 그러나 만일 너희가 내 말에 불순종하여 안식일을 거룩하게 지키지 않고 안식일에 짐을 지고 예루살렘 성문으로 들어오면 내가 성문에 불을 놓아 예루살렘 궁전을 삼켜 버릴 것이니 그 불이 꺼지지 않을 것이다.'
 
 
  1. The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD saying,
  2. "Arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will announce My words to you."
  3. Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was, making something on the wheel.
  4. But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make.
  5. Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,
  1. 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 토기장이의 집으로 내려 가거라. 네가 거기서 너에게 할 말이 있다.'
  3. 그래서 내가 그 곳으로 내려갔더니 토기장이가 돌림대에서 일을 하고 있었다.
  4. 그는 만들던 물건이 망가지고 제대로 나오지 않으면 그것을 다시 주물러 자기가 원하는 대로 다른 모양의 그릇을 만들고 있었다.
  5. 그때 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  1. "Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.
  2. "At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot, to pull down, or to destroy it;
  3. if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it.
  4. "Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it;
  5. if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think better of the good with which I had promised to bless it.
  1. '이스라엘 백성들아, 내가 너희에게 이 토기장이가 하듯이 할 수 없겠느냐? 진흙이 토기장이의 손 안에 있는 것처럼 너희는 내 손 안에 있다.
  2. 내가 어느 나라나 민족을 멸망시키거나 없애 버리겠다고 선언하여도
  3. 만일 그 민족이 악에서 돌아서면 내가 그들에게 내리기로 작정한 재앙에 대하여 내 뜻을 돌이키겠다.
  4. 또 내가 어느 나라나 민족을 막강하게 세우겠다고 선언하여도
  5. 만일 그들이 내 앞에서 악을 행하고 나에게 순종하지 않으면 내가 그들에게 베풀기로 작정한 선에 대하여 내 뜻을 돌이킬 것이다.
  1. "So now then, speak to the men of Judah and against the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying, 'Thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am fashioning calamity against you and devising a plan against you Oh turn back, each of you from his evil way, and reform your ways and your deeds."'
  2. "But they will say, 'It's hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.'
  3. "Therefore thus says the LORD, 'Ask now among the nations, Who ever heard the like of this? The virgin of Israel Has done a most appalling thing.
  4. 'Does the snow of Lebanon forsake the rock of the open country? Or is the cold flowing water from a foreign land ever snatched away?
  5. 'For My people have forgotten Me, They burn incense to worthless gods And they have stumbled from their ways, From the ancient paths, To walk in bypaths, Not on a highway,
  1. 그러므로 이제 너는 유다와 이스라엘 백성에게 나 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일어라. '보라, 내가 너희에게 재앙을 내려 너희를 벌하려고 한다. 그러므로 너희는 모두 악한 길에서 돌아서고 너희 태도와 행실을 바르게 고쳐라.'
  2. 그러나 그들은 '소용없는 일이다. 우리는 우리 계획대로 진행할 것이며 각자 우리 마음의 악한 고집대로 하겠다.'하고 대답할 것이다.'
  3. 여호와께서 다시 말씀하셨다. '너는 여러 이방 나라에게 이런 일을 들어 본 적이 있는지 물어 보아라. 이스라엘 백성이 정말 끔찍한 일을 하였다.
  4. 레바논의 눈이 그 바위산에서 사라지겠으며 멀리서 흘러내리는 차가운 물이 마를 리 있겠느냐?
  5. 그러나 내 백성은 나를 잊어버리고 무가치한 우상에게 분향하였으며 그들은 이런 일로 인해서 옛날의 선한 길을 떠나 죄악의 수렁으로 빠져들었다.
  1. To make their land a desolation, An object of perpetual hissing; Everyone who passes by it will be astonished And shake his head.
  2. 'Like an east wind I will scatter them Before the enemy; I will show them My back and not My face In the day of their calamity.'"
  1. 그러므로 그들의 땅이 황폐해져서 영원한 조소의 대상이 될 것이며 그리로 지나가는 자들이 다 놀라 머리를 흔들 것이다.
  2. 내가 내 백성을 그들의 원수 앞에서 동풍에 휘날리는 먼지처럼 흩어 버릴 것이며 그들이 재앙을 당할 때에 내가 그들을 외면하고 돕지 않을 것이다.'
 
  음모와 기도(18:18-18:23)    
 
  1. Then they said, "Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah Surely the law is not going to be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the sage, nor the divine word to the prophet! Come on and let us strike at him with our tongue, and let us give no heed to any of his words."
  2. Do give heed to me, O LORD, And listen to what my opponents are saying!
  3. Should good be repaid with evil? For they have dug a pit for me Remember how I stood before You To speak good on their behalf, So as to turn away Your wrath from them.
  4. Therefore, give their children over to famine And deliver them up to the power of the sword; And let their wives become childless and widowed Let their men also be smitten to death, Their young men struck down by the sword in battle.
  5. May an outcry be heard from their houses, When You suddenly bring raiders upon them; For they have dug a pit to capture me And hidden snares for my feet.
  1. 그때 백성들이 이렇게 말하였다. '자, 우리가 음모를 꾸며 예레미야를 해치자. 그가 아니라도 우리에게는 율법을 가르치는 제사장들이 있고 묘책을 말해 주는 지혜로운 자들이 있으며 하나님의 말씀을 선포해 주는 예언자들이 있다. 우리가 그를 공박하고 그가 하는 말에 귀를 기울이지 말자.'
  2. 그래서 나는 이렇게 기도하였다. '여호와여, 나에게 귀를 기울이시고 나를 대적하는 자들이 하는 말을 들어 보소서.
  3. 어떻게 사람이 선을 악으로 갚을 수 있겠습니까? 그러나 그들은 나를 죽이려고 함정을 팠습니다. 내가 그들에게서 주의 분노를 거두어 달라고 주 앞에 서서 그들을 위해 대변하던 일을 기억하소서.
  4. 그러나 이제 그들의 자녀들을 굶어 죽게 하시고 그들을 전쟁으로 죽게 하시며 그들의 아내들은 과부가 되고 자녀를 잃게 하시며 장년들은 질병으로 죽고 청년들은 전쟁으로 죽임을 당하게 하소서.
  5. 주께서 갑자기 침략자들을 그들에게 보내실 때 그들의 집에서 놀라 부르짖는 소리가 들리게 하소서. 그들이 나를 잡으려고 함정을 파고 내 발이 걸리도록 덫을 놓았습니다.
  1. Yet You, O LORD, know All their deadly designs against me; Do not forgive their iniquity Or blot out their sin from Your sight But may they be overthrown before You; Deal with them in the time of Your anger!
  1. 그러나 여호와여, 주께서는 나를 죽이려는 그들의 음모를 다 알고 계십니다. 그들을 용서하지 마시며 그들의 죄를 주 앞에서 지우지 마시고 주께서 분노하실 때 그들이 주 앞에서 망하게 하소서.'
