- I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:
- preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
- For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,
- and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
- But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

- 나는 하나님과 그리스도 예수님 앞에서 그대에게 엄숙히 명령합니다. 그리스도께서는 다시 오셔서 산 사람과 죽은 사람을 심판하시고 그의 나라를 세우실 것입니다.
- 그대는 어떤 형편에서든지 항상 말씀을 전하시오. 끝까지 참고 가르치면서 사람들을 책망하고 꾸짖어 올바로 살도록 권하시오.
- 사람들이 바른 교훈을 듣지 않고 오히려 자기 욕심을 따를 것이며 자기들의 귀를 즐겁게하는 교사들의 말을 들으려고 그들에게 모여들 때가 올 것입니다.
- 그들은 진리를 외면하고 쓸데없는 이야기에 귀를 기울일 것입니다.
- 그러나 그대는 모든 일에 자제하며 고난을 견디며 전도자의 일을 하며 맡겨진 직무를 완수하시오.

- For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come.
- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
- in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
