예레미야애가 3:1-5:22

 예레미야는 자비와 긍휼이 무한하신 하나님께 절망에 처한 백성들을 구원해 주시기를 간구했고, 유다 백성들과 지도자들에게 그들의 죄를 상기시켜 회개를 촉구하였다. 그리고 유다의 회복을 소망하며 하나님께서 구원해 주실 것을 호소하였다.
  
  선지자의 고통과 기도(3:1-3:66)    
 
  1. I am the man who has seen affliction Because of the rod of His wrath.
  2. He has driven me and made me walk In darkness and not in light.
  3. Surely against me He has turned His hand Repeatedly all the day.
  4. He has caused my flesh and my skin to waste away, He has broken my bones.
  5. He has besieged and encompassed me with bitterness and hardship.
  1. 여호와께서 가하시는 분노의 매에 내가 고통당하는 자가 되었구나.
  2. 그가 빛이 아닌 흑암 가운데로 나를 이끌어 걷게 하셨으며
  3. 하루 종일 손을 들어 나를 계속 치셨다.
  4. 그가 내 살과 가죽을 쇠하게 하고 내 뼈를 꺾으셨으며
  5. 고생과 시련의 담으로 나를 가두시고
  1. In dark places He has made me dwell, Like those who have long been dead.
  2. He has walled me in so that I cannot go out; He has made my chain heavy.
  3. Even when I cry out and call for help, He shuts out my prayer.
  4. He has blocked my ways with hewn stone; He has made my paths crooked.
  5. He is to me like a bear lying in wait, Like a lion in secret places.
  1. 죽은 지 오래된 사람처럼 나를 흑암 가운데 묻어 버리셨다.
  2. 그가 나를 포위하여 무거운 쇠사슬을 채웠으니 내가 도망갈 수 없구나.
  3. 내가 부르짖고 도움을 구하여도 그는 내 기도를 거절하시며
  4. 큰 돌을 쌓아 내 길을 막고 내가 둘러 다니도록 하셨다.
  5. 그는 나에게 숨어서 해칠 자를 기다리는 몸과 사자 같구나.
  1. He has turned aside my ways and torn me to pieces; He has made me desolate.
  2. He bent His bow And set me as a target for the arrow.
  3. He made the arrows of His quiver To enter into my inward parts.
  4. I have become a laughingstock to all my people, Their mocking song all the day.
  5. He has filled me with bitterness, He has made me drunk with wormwood.
  1. 그가 길에서 나를 덮쳐 갈기갈기 찢고 그대로 내버려 두었으며
  2. 활을 당겨 나를 과녁으로 삼으셨다.
  3. 여호와께서 그 화살로 내 심장을 꿰뚫었으니
  4. 내가 모든 백성들에게 조롱거리가 되고 온종일 그들의 웃음거리가 되었구나.
  5. 그가 쓴 것으로 내 배를 채우시고 쑥물로 나를 취하게 하셨다.
  1. He has broken my teeth with gravel; He has made me cower in the dust.
  2. My soul has been rejected from peace; I have forgotten happiness.
  3. So I say, "My strength has perished, And so has my hope from the LORD."
  4. Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness.
  5. Surely my soul remembers And is bowed down within me.
  1. 그가 자갈로 내 이를 부러뜨리고 나를 재로 덮으셨네.
  2. 내 영혼이 평안을 빼앗겼으니 내가 행복을 잊어버렸구나.
  3. 그래서 나는 말하였다. '내 힘이 쇠약해졌고 여호와에 대한 내 희망이 사라지고 말았다.'
  4. 내가 당하는 쓰라린 고통과 역경을 나는 기억하고 있다.
  5. 내가 이것을 생각하면 낙심도 되지만
  1. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.
  2. The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.
  3. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
  4. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."
  5. The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.
  1. 한편으로 생각해 보면 오히려 희망이 있다.
  2. 여호와의 크신 사랑 때문에 우리가 소멸되지 않았으니 그의 자비가 영원하구나.
  3. 이것이 아침마다 새로우니 주는 정말 신실하신 분이십니다.
  4. 내 심령이 말하는구나. '여호와는 나의 전체이시므로 내 희망을 그에게 두리라.'
  5. 여호와께서는 자기에게 희망을 걸고 자기를 찾는 자에게 은혜를 베푸시니
  1. It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the LORD.
  2. It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke in his youth.
  3. Let him sit alone and be silent Since He has laid it on him.
  4. Let him put his mouth in the dust, Perhaps there is hope.
  5. Let him give his cheek to the smiter, Let him be filled with reproach.
  1. 여호와의 구원을 조용히 기다리는 것이 좋고
  2. 사람이 젊었을 때 이런 인내를 배우며 훈련하는 것이 좋다.
  3. 혼자 앉아서 조용히 기다려야 하는 것은 여호와께서 그 고난의 멍에를 메게 하셨음이라.
  4. 입을 티끌에 묻어 버려라. 혹시 희망이 있을지도 모른다
  5. 뺨을 얻어 맞고 모욕을 당할지라도 그 모든 수치를 참고 견뎌라.
  1. For the Lord will not reject forever,
  2. For if He causes grief, Then He will have compassion According to His abundant lovingkindness.
  3. For He does not afflict willingly Or grieve the sons of men.
  4. To crush under His feet All the prisoners of the land,
  5. To deprive a man of justice In the presence of the Most High,
  1. 주께서 사람을 영원히 버리지는 않을 것이다.
  2. 그가 비록 슬픔을 주셔도 그 크신 사랑으로 자비를 베푸시리라.
  3. 주는 사람을 고생시키고 근심하게 하는 것을 기뻐하지 않으신다.
  4. 갇힌 자를 발로 짓밟는 것과
  5. 하나님이 주신 사람의 권리를 박탈하는 것과
  1. To defraud a man in his lawsuit-- Of these things the Lord does not approve.
  2. Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it?
  3. Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That both good and ill go forth?
  4. Why should any living mortal, or any man, Offer complaint in view of his sins?
  5. Let us examine and probe our ways, And let us return to the LORD.
  1. 법정에서 재판을 그릇되게 하는 것을 주는 기쁘게 여기지 않으신다.
  2. 여호와의 뜻이 아니면 아무것도 이루어지는 법이 없으니
  3. 화와 복이 전능하신 여호와의 입에서 나오는 것이 아닌가?
  4. 사람이 자기 죄로 벌을 받고 어떻게 원망할 수 있겠는가?
  5. 우리 행위를 살피고 조사하여 여호와께 돌아가자.
  1. We lift up our heart and hands Toward God in heaven;
  2. We have transgressed and rebelled, You have not pardoned.
  3. You have covered Yourself with anger And pursued us; You have slain and have not spared.
  4. You have covered Yourself with a cloud So that no prayer can pass through.
  5. You have made us mere offscouring and refuse In the midst of the peoples.
  1. 하늘에 계신 하나님을 향하여 마음을 열고 손을 들어 기도하자.
  2. 여호와여, 우리가 범죄하고 거역한 것을 주는 용서하지 않으셨습니다.
  3. 주는 분노로 자신을 가리고 우리를 추격하여 무자비하게 죽이셨습니다.
  4. 주께서 분노의 구름으로 가리고 계시니 우리의 기도가 도달하지 못합니다.
  5. 주께서는 우리를 세상의 찌꺼기와 폐물이 되게 하셨습니다.
  1. All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
  2. Panic and pitfall have befallen us, Devastation and destruction;
  3. My eyes run down with streams of water Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
  4. My eyes pour down unceasingly, Without stopping,
  5. Until the LORD looks down And sees from heaven.
  1. 우리의 모든 대적이 우리를 향해 입을 크게 벌리고 조롱하고 있습니다.
  2. 우리가 재앙을 당하고 파멸하여 공포와 위험 가운데서 살고 있습니다.'
  3. 내 백성이 멸망당한 것을 보니 내 눈에서 눈물이 시내처럼 흐르는구나.
  4. 내 눈에서 눈물이 쉬지 않고 끊임없이 흘러내리니
  5. 여호와께서 하늘에서 살피시고 돌아보는 날이 있을 것이다
  1. My eyes bring pain to my soul Because of all the daughters of my city.
  2. My enemies without cause Hunted me down like a bird;
  3. They have silenced me in the pit And have placed a stone on me.
  4. Waters flowed over my head; I said, "I am cut off!"
  5. I called on Your name, O LORD, Out of the lowest pit.
  1. 성 안의 모든 여자들에게 일어난 일을 보니 내 마음이 상하는구나.
  2. 이유없이 나를 미워하는 원수들이 새를 사냥하듯 나를 추격하였다.
  3. 그들이 나를 산 채로 구덩이에 집어 넣고 그 위를 돌로 막았으니
  4. 물이 나를 덮쳤을 때 나는 죽는 줄로 알았다.
  5. 여호와여, 내가 아주 깊은 구덩이에서 주의 이름을 불렀습니다.
  1. You have heard my voice, "Do not hide Your ear from my prayer for relief, From my cry for help."
  2. You drew near when I called on You; You said, "Do not fear!"
  3. O Lord, You have pleaded my soul's cause; You have redeemed my life.
  4. O LORD, You have seen my oppression; Judge my case.
  5. You have seen all their vengeance, All their schemes against me.
  1. 나의 부르짖음과 호소에 귀를 기울여 달라고 내가 주께 기도했을 때 주는 들으시고
  2. 나에게 가까이 오셔서 두려워하지 말라고 하셨습니다.
  3. 여호와여, 주는 내 마음의 원통함을 풀어 주셨고 내 생명을 구해 주셨습니다.
  4. 내가 당한 일을 주께서 보셨으니 나의 억울한 문제를 해결해 주소서.
  5. 주는 내 원수들의 모든 보복과 나를 해하려는 그들의 책략을 다 보셨습니다.
  1. You have heard their reproach, O LORD, All their schemes against me.
  2. The lips of my assailants and their whispering Are against me all day long.
  3. Look on their sitting and their rising; I am their mocking song.
  4. You will recompense them, O LORD, According to the work of their hands.
  5. You will give them hardness of heart, Your curse will be on them.
  1. 여호와여, 그들이 나를 모욕하며 나를 해할 음모를 꾸미고 있는 소리를 주께서는 들으셨습니다.
  2. 그들이 나를 치려고 하루종일 속삭이며 모략을 꾸미고 있습니다.
  3. 주여, 보소서. 그들이 앉든지 서든지 하루 종일 나를 비웃고 있습니다.
  4. 여호와여, 그들이 행한 대로 갚으소서.
  5. 그들의 마음을 굳어지게 하시고 그들에게 저주가 내리게 하소서.
  1. You will pursue them in anger and destroy them From under the heavens of the LORD!
  1. 여호와여, 주의 진노로 그들을 추격하여 지상에서 아주 없애 버리소서.
 
  시온을 향한 애가(4:1-4:22)    
 
  1. How dark the gold has become, How the pure gold has changed! The sacred stones are poured out At the corner of every street.
  2. The precious sons of Zion, Weighed against fine gold, How they are regarded as earthen jars, The work of a potter's hands!
  3. Even jackals offer the breast, They nurse their young; But the daughter of my people has become cruel Like ostriches in the wilderness.
  4. The tongue of the infant cleaves To the roof of its mouth because of thirst; The little ones ask for bread, But no one breaks it for them.
  5. Those who ate delicacies Are desolate in the streets; Those reared in purple Embrace ash pits.
  1. 아, 슬프다! 금이 광택을 잃고 순금이 변했으며 성전의 돌들이 거리에 흩어졌구나!
  2. 시온의 젊은이들이 순금처럼 소중하더니 이제는 흔한 질그릇처럼 되고 말았네.
  3. 여우도 제 새끼에게 젖을 먹이는데 내 백성은 잔인하여 사막의 타조 같구나.
  4. 젖먹이가 목이 말라 그 혀가 입천장에 붙고 아이들이 먹을 것을 구걸하나 주는 자가 없구나.
  5. 맛있는 것만 먹던 자가 이제는 거리에서 처량한 신세가 되었고 좋은 옷만 입고 자라던 자가 이제는 잿더미에 누웠네.
  1. For the iniquity of the daughter of my people Is greater than the sin of Sodom, Which was overthrown as in a moment, And no hands were turned toward her.
  2. Her consecrated ones were purer than snow, They were whiter than milk; They were more ruddy in body than corals, Their polishing was like lapis lazuli.
  3. Their appearance is blacker than soot, They are not recognized in the streets; Their skin is shriveled on their bones, It is withered, it has become like wood.
  4. Better are those slain with the sword Than those slain with hunger; For they pine away, being stricken For lack of the fruits of the field.
  5. The hands of compassionate women Boiled their own children; They became food for them Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
  1. 전에 소돔성이 사람의 손을 대지 않고도 순식간에 무너지더니 이제 내 백성의 죄가 그 소돔 사람들의 죄보다 크구나.
  2. 전에는 귀족들의 몸이 눈보다 더 깨끗하고 우유보다 더 희며 그 혈색이 산호보다 붉고 그 외모가 청옥 같았다.
  3. 그러나 지금은 그 얼굴이 술보다 검고 그 가죽이 뼈에 붙어 막대기같이 되었으니 아무도 그들을 길거리에서 알아볼 수 없게 되었네.
  4. 칼날에 죽는 자가 굶어서 죽는 자보다 나은 것은 농산물이 부족하여 먹을 것이 없으므로 그들이 점점 시들어 죽어 가기 때문이다
  5. 내 백성이 멸망할 때 인자한 어머니가 자기 손으로 자식을 삶아 먹었다.
  1. The LORD has accomplished His wrath, He has poured out His fierce anger; And He has kindled a fire in Zion Which has consumed its foundations.
  2. The kings of the earth did not believe, Nor did any of the inhabitants of the world, That the adversary and the enemy Could enter the gates of Jerusalem.
  3. Because of the sins of her prophets And the iniquities of her priests, Who have shed in her midst The blood of the righteous;
  4. They wandered, blind, in the streets; They were defiled with blood So that no one could touch their garments.
  5. "Depart! Unclean!" they cried of themselves "Depart, depart, do not touch!" So they fled and wandered; Men among the nations said, "They shall not continue to dwell with us."
  1. 여호와께서 몹시 화가 나셔서 그의 무서운 분노를 쏟아 시온에 불을 지르고 그 터전까지 태워 버리셨네.
  2. 침략군이 예루살렘 성문으로 들어가리라고는 세상의 그 누구도 믿지 않았다.
  3. 이런 일이 일어나게 된 것은 예언자들의 죄와 제사장들의 죄 때문이니 그들이 죄 없는 자들의 피를 흘렸음이라.
  4. 그들이 맹인처럼 거리를 방황하며 그 옷이 피로 더럽혀졌으니 아무도 만질 수 없게 되었구나.
  5. 사람들이 그들에게 '저리 가거라. 부정하다! 가거라! 가거라! 만지지 말아라!' 하고 외치는구나. 그들이 먼 땅으로 도망하여 이리저리 방황할 때에 그들을 반겨 주는 자가 아무도 없었다.
  1. The presence of the LORD has scattered them, He will not continue to regard them; They did not honor the priests, They did not favor the elders.
  2. Yet our eyes failed, Looking for help was useless; In our watching we have watched For a nation that could not save.
  3. They hunted our steps So that we could not walk in our streets; Our end drew near, Our days were finished For our end had come.
  4. Our pursuers were swifter Than the eagles of the sky; They chased us on the mountains, They waited in ambush for us in the wilderness.
  5. The breath of our nostrils, the LORD'S anointed, Was captured in their pits, Of whom we had said, "Under his shadow We shall live among the nations."
  1. 여호와께서 그들을 흩어 버리고 다시는 돌보지 않으시니 이방인들이 제사장들을 존경하지 않고 장로들을 대우하지 않는구나.
  2. 우리가 쓸데없는 도움을 바라다가 우리 눈이 쇠약해졌으니 우리를 구원하지 못할 나라에 도움을 기대하였음이라.
  3. 사람들이 우리를 일일이 살피고 있으므로 우리가 거리에 걸어다닐 수 없구나. 우리의 날이 다하고 우리의 종말이 이르렀다.
  4. 우리를 추격하는 자들이 공중의 독수리보다 빨라서 우리가 산으로 도망하여도 그들이 우리를 추격하고 우리가 광야에 숨어도 그들이 거기서 잠복하여 우리를 기다리는구나.
  5. 여호와께서 택하신 자, 곧 우리의 생명과 같은 왕이 그들의 함정에 빠지고 말았네. 그는 우리가 세상의 모든 침략자들로부터 우리를 보호해 줄 것으로 믿었던 자인데.
  1. Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, Who dwells in the land of Uz; But the cup will come around to you as well, You will become drunk and make yourself naked.
  2. The punishment of your iniquity has been completed, O daughter of Zion; He will exile you no longer But He will punish your iniquity, O daughter of Edom; He will expose your sins!
  1. 우스 땅에 사는 에돔 사람들아, 기뻐하고 즐거워하라. 진노의 잔이 너희에게도 지나갈 것이니 너희가 취하여 벌거벗은 자가 되리라.
  2. 처녀 시온아, 네 죄의 형벌이 끝났다 주께서 다시는 네가 사로잡혀가지 않게 하시리라. 그러나 에돔아, 주께서 너를 벌하시고 네 죄를 드러내실 것이다.
 
  회복을 구하는 기도(5:1-5:22)    
 
  1. Remember, O LORD, what has befallen us; Look, and see our reproach!
  2. Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, Our houses to aliens.
  3. We have become orphans without a father, Our mothers are like widows.
  4. We have to pay for our drinking water, Our wood comes to us at a price.
  5. Our pursuers are at our necks; We are worn out, there is no rest for us.
  1. 여호와여, 우리가 당한 일을 기억하시고 우리의 치욕을 보소서.
  2. 우리가 유산으로 물려받은 재산이 낯선 사람의 손에 넘어가고 우리 집들도 외국인에게 돌아갔습니다.
  3. 우리는 아버지 없는 고아가 되었으며 우리 어머니는 다 과부 신세가 되었습니다.
  4. 우리는 물을 마시는 데도 돈을 주어야 하고 땔감도 비싼 값에 사야 합니다.
  5. 우리를 쫓는 자가 바싹 다가왔으므로 우리가 피곤하나 쉴 수가 없습니다.
  1. We have submitted to Egypt and Assyria to get enough bread.
  2. Our fathers sinned, and are no more; It is we who have borne their iniquities.
  3. Slaves rule over us; There is no one to deliver us from their hand.
  4. We get our bread at the risk of our lives Because of the sword in the wilderness.
  5. Our skin has become as hot as an oven, Because of the burning heat of famine.
  1. 우리는 먹을 것을 충분히 얻기 위해 이집트와 앗시리아에게 굴복하였습니다.
  2. 우리 조상들은 범죄하였으나 심판이 내리기 전에 죽었으므로 우리가 대신 그 죄의 댓가를 받고 있습니다.
  3. 종에 불과한 자들이 우리를 다스리나 그 손에서 우리를 건져낼 자가 없습니다.
  4. 광야에는 칼이 있으므로 우리가 목숨을 걸어야 양식을 얻을 수 있습니다.
  5. 기근의 열기가 대단하여 우리 피부가 화덕처럼 달아올랐습니다.
  1. They ravished the women in Zion, The virgins in the cities of Judah.
  2. Princes were hung by their hands; Elders were not respected.
  3. Young men worked at the grinding mill, And youths stumbled under loads of wood.
  4. Elders are gone from the gate, Young men from their music.
  5. The joy of our hearts has ceased; Our dancing has been turned into mourning.
  1. 예루살렘의 부녀자들과 유다 여러 성의 처녀들이 강간을 당했습니다.
  2. 우리 지도자들은 나무에 매달려 죽임을 당하고 우리 장로들은 존경을 받지 못하며
  3. 청년들이 힘겹게 맷돌을 돌리고 소년들이 무거운 나뭇짐을 지고 비틀거리고 있습니다.
  4. 노인들은 다시 성문에 앉지 못하며 젊은이들은 노래할 수 없게 되었습니다.
  5. 이제는 우리 마음에 기쁨이 사라지고 춤이 변하여 슬픔이 되었으며
  1. The crown has fallen from our head; Woe to us, for we have sinned!
  2. Because of this our heart is faint, Because of these things our eyes are dim;
  3. Because of Mount Zion which lies desolate, Foxes prowl in it.
  4. You, O LORD, rule forever; Your throne is from generation to generation.
  5. Why do You forget us forever? Why do You forsake us so long?
  1. 우리 머리에서 면류관이 떨어졌으니 슬픈 일이 아닐 수 없습니다. 이것은 우리가 범죄했기 때문입니다.
  2. 이것 때문에 우리 마음이 나약해지고 우리 눈이 침침해졌습니다.
  3. 시온산이 황폐하였으므로 여우가 거기서 어슬렁거리고 있습니다.
  4. 여호와여, 주는 영원히 다스리시며 주의 보좌는 대대로 있습니다.
  5. 주는 어째서 우리를 잊으시며 이처럼 오랫동안 우리를 버리십니까
  1. Restore us to You, O LORD, that we may be restored; Renew our days as of old,
  2. Unless You have utterly rejected us And are exceedingly angry with us.
  1. 여호와여, 우리를 돌이키셔서 우리가 다시 주께 돌아가게 하시며 우리를 새롭게 하셔서 다시 옛날처럼 되게 하소서.
  2. 주께서 우리를 버리셨습니까? 주께서 우리에게 분노하심이 너무 심하십니다.
