창세기 41:1-41:57

 바로는 파리한 일곱 암소가 살진 일곱 암소를 잡아 먹고, 세약하고 마른 일곱 이삭이 무성하고 충실한 일곱 이삭을 삼킨 꿈을 꾸었다. 그 꿈을 해석하지 못하고 있는 바로에게 술 관원장은 요셉을 추천하였다. 요셉은 그 꿈을 해석하였고, 그 결과 애굽의 국무총리가 되어 7년 풍년과 7년 흉년을 지혜롭게 대처하였다.
  
  바로의 꿈과 요셉의 해석(41:1-41:36)    
 
  1. Now it happened at the end of two full years that Pharaoh had a dream, and behold, he was standing by the Nile.
  2. And lo, from the Nile there came up seven cows, sleek and fat; and they grazed in the marsh grass.
  3. Then behold, seven other cows came up after them from the Nile, ugly and gaunt, and they stood by the other cows on the bank of the Nile.
  4. The ugly and gaunt cows ate up the seven sleek and fat cows. Then Pharaoh awoke.
  5. He fell asleep and dreamed a second time; and behold, seven ears of grain came up on a single stalk, plump and good.
  1. 그로부터 만 이 년이 지나서, 바로가 꿈을 꾸었다. 그가 나일 강 가에 서 있는데,
  2. 잘생기고, 살이 찐 암소 일곱 마리가 강에서 올라와서, 갈밭에서 풀을 뜯는다.
  3. 그 뒤를 이어서, 흉측하고 야윈 다른 암소 일곱 마리가 강에서 올라와서, 먼저 올라온 소들과 함께 강가에 선다.
  4. 그 흉측하고 야윈 암소들이, 잘생기고 살이 찐 암소들을 잡아먹는다. 바로는 잠에서 깨어났다.
  5. 그가 다시 잠들어서, 또 꿈을 꾸었다. 이삭 일곱 개가 보인다. 토실토실하고 잘 여문 이삭 일곱 개가 나오는데, 그것들은 모두 한 줄기에서 나와서 자란 것들이다.
  1. Then behold, seven ears, thin and scorched by the east wind, sprouted up after them.
  2. The thin ears swallowed up the seven plump and full ears. Then Pharaoh awoke, and behold, it was a dream.
  3. Now in the morning his spirit was troubled, so he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all its wise men And Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.
  4. Then the chief cupbearer spoke to Pharaoh, saying, "I would make mention today of my own offenses.
  5. "Pharaoh was furious with his servants, and he put me in confinement in the house of the captain of the bodyguard, both me and the chief baker.
  1. 그 뒤를 이어서, 또 다른 이삭 일곱 개가 피어 나오는데, 열풍이 불어서, 야위고 마른 것들이다.
  2. 그 야윈 이삭이, 토실토실하게 잘 여문 이삭 일곱 개를 삼킨다. 바로가 깨어나 보니, 꿈이다.
  3. 아침에 그는 마음이 뒤숭숭하여, 사람을 보내어서 이집트의 마술사와 현인들을 모두 불러들이고, 그가 꾼 꿈 이야기를 그들에게 하였다. 그러나 아무도 그에게 그 꿈을 해몽하여 주는 사람이 없었다.
  4. 그 때에 술잔을 올리는 시종장이 바로에게 말하였다. "제가 꼭 했어야 할 일을 못한 것이 오늘에야 생각납니다.
  5. 임금님께서 종들에게 노하셔서, 저와 빵을 구워 올리는 시종장을 경호대장 집 감옥에 가두신 일이 있습니다.
  1. "We had a dream on the same night, he and I; each of us dreamed according to the interpretation of his own dream.
  2. "Now a Hebrew youth was with us there, a servant of the captain of the bodyguard, and we related them to him, and he interpreted our dreams for us. To each one he interpreted according to his own dream.
  3. "And just as he interpreted for us, so it happened; he restored me in my office, but he hanged him."
  4. Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon; and when he had shaved himself and changed his clothes, he came to Pharaoh.
  5. Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I have had a dream, but no one can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you, that when you hear a dream you can interpret it."
  1. 저희들이 같은 날 밤에 각각 꿈을 꾸었는데, 두 꿈의 내용이 너무나 달랐습니다.
  2. 그 때에 그 곳에, 경호대장의 종인 히브리 소년이 저희와 함께 있었습니다. 저희가 꾼 꿈 이야기를 그에게 해주었더니, 그가 그 꿈을 풀었습니다. 저희 두 사람에게 제각기 그 꿈을 해몽하여 주었던 것입니다.
  3. 그리고 그가 해몽한 대로, 꼭 그대로 되어서, 저는 복직되고, 그 사람은 처형되었습니다."
  4. 이 말을 듣고서, 바로가 사람을 보내어 요셉을 불러오게 하였고, 사람들은 곧바로 그를 구덩이에서 끌어냈다. 요셉이 수염을 깎고, 옷을 갈아입고, 바로 앞으로 나아가니,
  5. 바로가 요셉에게 말하였다. "내가 꿈을 하나 꾸었는데, 그것을 해몽할 수 있는 사람이 없다. 나는 네가 꿈 이야기를 들으면 잘 푼다고 들었다. 그래서 너를 불렀다."
  1. Joseph then answered Pharaoh, saying, "It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer."
  2. So Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, "In my dream, behold, I was standing on the bank of the Nile;
  3. and behold, seven cows, fat and sleek came up out of the Nile, and they grazed in the marsh grass.
  4. "Lo, seven other cows came up after them, poor and very ugly and gaunt, such as I had never seen for ugliness in all the land of Egypt;
  5. and the lean and ugly cows ate up the first seven fat cows.
  1. 요셉이 바로에게 대답하였다. "저에게는 그런 능력이 없습니다. 임금님께서 기뻐하실 대답은, 하나님이 해주실 것입니다."
  2. 바로가 요셉에게 말하였다. "꿈에 내가 나일 강 가에 서 있는데,
  3. 살이 찌고 잘생긴 암소 일곱 마리가 강에서 올라와서, 갈밭에서 풀을 뜯었다.
  4. 그것들의 뒤를 이어서, 약하고 아주 흉측하고 야윈 다른 암소 일곱 마리가 올라오는데, 이집트 온 땅에서 내가 일찍이 본 일이 없는 흉측하기 짝이 없는 그런 암소들이었다.
  5. 그 야위고 흉측한 암소들은 먼저 올라온 기름진 암소 일곱 마리를 잡아먹었다.
  1. "Yet when they had devoured them, it could not be detected that they had devoured them, for they were just as ugly as before. Then I awoke.
  2. "I saw also in my dream, and behold, seven ears, full and good, came up on a single stalk;
  3. and lo, seven ears, withered, thin, and scorched by the east wind, sprouted up after them;
  4. and the thin ears swallowed the seven good ears. Then I told it to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me."
  5. Now Joseph said to Pharaoh, "Pharaoh's dreams are one and the same; God has told to Pharaoh what He is about to do.
  1. 흉측한 암소들은 살이 찐 암소들을 잡아먹었는데도, 여전히 굶은 암소처럼 흉측하였다. 그리고는 내가 깨어났다.
  2. 내가 또다시 꿈에 보니, 한 줄기에서 자란 이삭 일곱 개가 있는데, 잘 여물고 실한 것들이었다.
  3. 그것들의 뒤를 이어서, 다른 이삭 일곱 개가 피어 나오는데, 열풍이 불어서, 시들고 야위고 마른 것들이었다.
  4. 그 야윈 이삭이 잘 여문 일곱 이삭을 삼켜 버렸다. 내가 이 꿈 이야기를 마술사와 현인들에게 들려 주었지만, 아무도 나에게 그 꿈을 해몽해 주지 못하였다."
  5. 요셉이 바로에게 말하였다. "임금님께서 두 번 꾸신 꿈의 내용은 다 같은 것입니다. 임금님께서 장차 하셔야 할 일을 하나님이 보여 주신 것입니다.
  1. "The seven good cows are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one and the same.
  2. "The seven lean and ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven thin ears scorched by the east wind will be seven years of famine.
  3. "It is as I have spoken to Pharaoh: God has shown to Pharaoh what He is about to do.
  4. "Behold, seven years of great abundance are coming in all the land of Egypt;
  5. and after them seven years of famine will come, and all the abundance will be forgotten in the land of Egypt, and the famine will ravage the land.
  1. 그 좋은 암소 일곱 마리는 일곱 해를 말하고, 잘 여문 이삭 일곱 개도 일곱 해를 말하는 것입니다. 두 꿈이 다 같은 내용입니다.
  2. 뒤따라 나온 야위고 흉측한 암소 일곱 마리나, 열풍에 말라 버린 쓸모 없는 이삭 일곱 개도, 역시 일곱 해를 말합니다. 이것들은 흉년 일곱 해를 말하는 것입니다.
  3. 이제, 제가 임금님께 말씀드린 바와 같이, 임금님께서 앞으로 하셔야 할 일을 하나님이 보여 주신 것입니다.
  4. 앞으로 올 일곱 해 동안에는, 온 이집트 땅에 큰 풍년이 들 것입니다.
  5. 그런데 곧 이어서, 일곱 해 동안 흉년이 들 것입니다. 그렇게 되면, 이집트 땅에 언제 풍년이 있었더냐는 듯이, 지나간 일을 다 잊어버리게 될 것입니다. 그리고 기근이 이 땅을 황폐하게 할 것입니다.
  1. "So the abundance will be unknown in the land because of that subsequent famine; for it will be very severe.
  2. "Now as for the repeating of the dream to Pharaoh twice, it means that the matter is determined by God, and God will quickly bring it about.
  3. "Now let Pharaoh look for a man discerning and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.
  4. "Let Pharaoh take action to appoint overseers in charge of the land, and let him exact a fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt in the seven years of abundance.
  5. "Then let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming, and store up the grain for food in the cities under Pharaoh's authority, and let them guard it.
  1. 풍년이 든 다음에 오는 흉년은 너무나도 심하여서, 이집트 땅에서는 아무도 그 전에 풍년이 든 일을 기억하지 못할 것입니다.
  2. 임금님께서 같은 꿈을 두 번이나 거듭 꾸신 것은, 하나님이 이 일을 하시기로 이미 결정하시고, 그 일을 꼭 그대로 하시겠다는 것을 말씀해 주시는 것입니다.
  3. 이제 임금님께서는, 명철하고 슬기로운 사람을 책임자로 세우셔서, 이집트 땅을 다스리게 하시는 것이 좋을 듯합니다.
  4. 임금님께서는 전국에 관리들을 임명하셔서, 풍년이 계속되는 일곱 해 동안에, 이집트 땅에서 거둔 것의 오분의 일을 해마다 받아들이도록 하심이 좋을 듯합니다.
  5. 앞으로 올 풍년에, 그 관리들은 온갖 먹거리를 거두어들이고, 임금님의 권한 아래, 각 성읍에 곡식을 갈무리하도록 하십시오.
  1. "Let the food become as a reserve for the land for the seven years of famine which will occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land will not perish during the famine."
  1. 이 먹거리는, 이집트 땅에서 일곱 해 동안 이어갈 흉년에 대비해서, 그 때에 이 나라 사람들이 먹을 수 있도록 갈무리해 두셔야 합니다. 그렇게 하시면, 기근이 이 나라를 망하게 하지 못할 것입니다."
 
  요셉의 지혜로운 정치(41:37-41:57)    
 
  1. Now the proposal seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his servants.
  2. Then Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?"
  3. So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are.
  4. "You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you."
  5. Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt."
  1. 바로와 모든 신하들은 이 제안을 좋게 여겼다.
  2. 바로가 신하들에게 말하였다. "하나님의 영이 함께 하는 사람을, 이 사람 말고, 어디에서 또 찾을 수 있겠느냐?"

  4. 네가 나의 집을 다스리는 책임자가 되어라. 나의 모든 백성은 너의 명령을 따를 것이다. 내가 너보다 높다는 것은, 내가 이 자리에 앉아 있다는 것뿐이다."
  5. 바로가 또 요셉에게 말하였다. "내가 너를 온 이집트 땅의 총리로 세운다."
  1. Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his neck.
  2. He had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, "Bow the knee!" And he set him over all the land of Egypt.
  3. Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Though I am Pharaoh, yet without your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt."
  4. Then Pharaoh named Joseph Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of On, as his wife. And Joseph went forth over the land of Egypt.
  5. Now Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went through all the land of Egypt.
  1. 그렇게 말하면서, 바로는 손가락에 끼고 있는 옥새 반지를 빼서 요셉의 손가락에 끼우고, 고운 모시 옷을 입히고, 금목걸이를 목에다 걸어 주었다.
  2. 그런 다음에, 또 자기의 병거에 버금가는 병거에 요셉을 태우니, 사람들이 "물러나거라!" 하고 외쳤다. 이렇게 해서, 바로는 요셉을 온 이집트 땅의 총리로 세웠다.

  5. 요셉이 이집트 왕 바로를 섬기기 시작할 때에, 그의 나이는 서른 살이었다. 요셉은 바로 앞에서 물러나와서, 이집트 온 땅을 두루 다니면서 살폈다.
  1. During the seven years of plenty the land brought forth abundantly.
  2. So he gathered all the food of these seven years which occurred in the land of Egypt and placed the food in the cities; he placed in every city the food from its own surrounding fields.
  3. Thus Joseph stored up grain in great abundance like the sand of the sea, until he stopped measuring it, for it was beyond measure.
  4. Now before the year of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of On, bore to him.
  5. Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, "For," he said, "God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father's household."
  1. 풍년을 이룬 일곱 해 동안에, 땅에서 생산된 것은 대단히 많았다.
  2. 요셉은, 이집트 땅에서 일곱 해 동안 이어간 풍년으로 생산된 모든 먹거리를 거두어들여, 여러 성읍에 저장해 두었다. 각 성읍 근처 밭에서 나는 곡식은 각각 그 성읍에 쌓아 두었다.
  3. 요셉이 저장한 곡식의 양은 엄청나게 많아서, 마치 바다의 모래와 같았다. 그 양이 셀 수 없을 만큼 많아져서, 기록을 중단할 수밖에 없었다.
  4. 요셉과 온의 제사장 보디베라의 딸 아스낫 사이에서 두 아들이 태어난 것은 흉년이 들기 전이었다.
  5. 요셉은 "하나님이 나의 온갖 고난과 아버지 집 생각을 다 잊어버리게 하셨다" 하면서, 맏아들의 이름을 므낫세라고 지었다.
  1. He named the second Ephraim, "For," he said, "God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction."
  2. When the seven years of plenty which had been in the land of Egypt came to an end,
  3. and the seven years of famine began to come, just as Joseph had said, then there was famine in all the lands, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.
  4. So when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried out to Pharaoh for bread; and Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, "Go to Joseph; whatever he says to you, you shall do."
  5. When the famine was spread over all the face of the earth, then Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold to the Egyptians; and the famine was severe in the land of Egypt.
  1. 둘째는 "내가 고생하던 이 땅에서, 하나님이 자손을 번성하게 해주셨다" 하면서, 그 이름을 에브라임이라고 지었다.
  2. 이집트 땅에서 일곱 해 동안 이어가던 풍년이 지나니,
  3. 요셉이 말한 대로 일곱 해 동안의 흉년이 시작되었다. 온 세상에 기근이 들지 않은 나라가 없었으나, 이집트 온 땅에는 아직도 먹거리가 있었다.
  4. 그러나 마침내, 이집트 온 땅의 백성이 굶주림에 빠지자, 그들은 바로에게 먹을 것을 달라고 부르짖었다. 바로는 이집트의 모든 백성에게 "요셉에게로 가서, 그가 시키는 대로 하여라" 하였다.
  5. 온 땅에 기근이 들었으므로, 요셉은 모든 창고를 열어서, 이집트 사람들에게 곡식을 팔았다. 이집트 땅 모든 곳에 기근이 심하게 들었다.
  1. The people of all the earth came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the earth.
  1. 기근이 온 세상을 뒤덮고 있었으므로, 다른 나라 사람들도 요셉에게서 곡식을 사려고 이집트로 왔다.
