민수기 24:1-25:18

 모압 왕 발락은 복술가 발람으로 하여금 이스라엘을 저주하게 하려고 했으나, 하나님의 신은 발람으로 하여금 오히려 이스라엘을 축복하도록 역사하셨다. 한편 모압 여자들과 음행하고 그들의 우상을 섬기기 시작한 이스라엘은 하나님의 진노와 징벌을 받음으로써 한 분 하나님만을 섬겨야 됨을 다시금 배우게 되었다.
  
  발람의 예언(24:1-24:25)    
 
  1. When Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not go as at other times to seek omens but he set his face toward the wilderness.
  2. And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
  3. He took up his discourse and said, "The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor, And the oracle of the man whose eye is opened;
  4. The oracle of him who hears the words of God, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered,
  5. How fair are your tents, O Jacob, Your dwellings, O Israel!
  1. 발람은 자기가 이스라엘에게 복을 빌어 주는 것이 주님의 눈에 좋게 보였다는 것을 알고는, 매번 으레 하던 것처럼 마술을 쓰려 하지 않고, 대신 광야 쪽으로 얼굴만 돌렸다.
  2. 발람은 눈을 들어, 지파별로 진을 친 이스라엘을 바라보았다. 그 때에 그에게 하나님의 영이 내렸다.
  3. 그는 예언을 선포하였다. "브올의 아들 발람의 말이다. 눈을 뜬 사람의 말이다.
  4. 하나님의 말씀을 듣는 사람의 말이다. 환상으로 전능자를 뵙고 넘어졌으나, 오히려 두 눈을 밝히 뜬 사람의 말이다.
  5. 야곱아, 너의 장막이 어찌 그리도 좋으냐! 이스라엘아, 너의 사는 곳이 어찌 그리도 좋으냐!
  1. "Like valleys that stretch out, Like gardens beside the river, Like aloes planted by the LORD, Like cedars beside the waters.
  2. "Water will flow from his buckets, And his seed will be by many waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, And his kingdom shall be exalted.
  3. "God brings him out of Egypt, He is for him like the horns of the wild ox He will devour the nations who are his adversaries, And will crush their bones in pieces, And shatter them with his arrows.
  4. "He crouches, he lies down as a lion, And as a lion, who dares rouse him? Blessed is everyone who blesses you, And cursed is everyone who curses you."
  5. Then Balak's anger burned against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, "I called you to curse my enemies, but behold, you have persisted in blessing them these three times!
  1. 계곡처럼 뻗었구나. 강가의 동산 같구나. 주님께서 심으신 침향목 같구나. 냇가의 백향목 같구나.
  2. 물통에서는 물이 넘치고, 뿌린 씨는 물을 흠뻑 먹을 것이다. 그들의 임금은 아각을 누르고, 그들의 나라는 널리 위세를 떨칠 것이다.
  3. 하나님이 그들을 이집트에서 이끌어 내셨다. 그에게는 들소와 같은 힘이 있다. 그는 나라들, 곧 대적들을 집어삼키고, 대적들의 뼈를 짓부수며, 활을 쏘아 대적들을 꿰뚫을 것이다.
  4. 엎드리고 웅크린 모양이 수사자 같기도 하고, 암사자 같기도 하니, 누가 감히 일으킬 수 있으랴! 너에게 복을 비는 이마다 복을 받을 것이요, 너를 저주하는 자마다 저주를 받을 것이다."
  5. 발락은 발람에게 크게 분노하여, 주먹을 불끈 쥐고 떨면서 말하였다. "내가 당신을 부른 것은 내 대적을 저주하여 달라고 부른 것이었소. 그러나 보시오! 당신은 오히려 이렇게 세 번씩이나 그들에게 복을 빌어 주었소.
  1. "Therefore, flee to your place now. I said I would honor you greatly, but behold, the LORD has held you back from honor."
  2. Balaam said to Balak, "Did I not tell your messengers whom you had sent to me, saying,
  3. 'Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything contrary to the command of the LORD, either good or bad, of my own accord What the LORD speaks, that I will speak'?
  4. "And now, behold, I am going to my people; come, and I will advise you what this people will do to your people in the days to come."
  5. He took up his discourse and said, "The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor, And the oracle of the man whose eye is opened,
  1. 이제 곧 당신이 떠나왔던 그 곳으로 빨리 가 버리시오. 나는 당신에게 후하게 보답하겠다고 말하였소. 그러나 보시오! 주님께서 당신이 후하게 보답받는 것을 막으셨소."
  2. 발람이 발락에게 말하였다. "나에게 보내신 사신들에게도 내가 이미 말하지 않았습니까?
  3. 발락 임금님께서 비록 그의 궁궐에 가득한 금과 은을 나에게 준다 해도, 좋은 일이든 나쁜 일이든 간에, 주님의 명을 어기고 나의 마음대로 할 수 있는 일은 아무것도 없습니다. 나는 다만 주님께서 말씀하신 것만 말해야 합니다."
  4. "이제 나는 나의 백성에게로 갑니다. 그러나 들어 보십시오. 앞으로 이 백성이 임금님의 백성에게 어떻게 할 것인지, 내가 감히 말씀드리고자 합니다."
  5. 발람이 예언을 선포하였다. "브올의 아들 발람의 말이다. 눈을 뜬 사람의 말이다.
  1. The oracle of him who hears the words of God, And knows the knowledge of the Most High, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered.
  2. "I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, A scepter shall rise from Israel, And shall crush through the forehead of Moab, And tear down all the sons of Sheth.
  3. "Edom shall be a possession, Seir, its enemies, also will be a possession, While Israel performs valiantly.
  4. "One from Jacob shall have dominion, And will destroy the remnant from the city."
  5. And he looked at Amalek and took up his discourse and said, "Amalek was the first of the nations, But his end shall be destruction."
  1. 하나님 말씀을 듣는 사람의 말이다. 가장 높으신 분께서 주신 지식을 가진 사람의 말이다. 환상으로 전능자를 뵙고 넘어졌으나, 오히려 두 눈을 밝히 뜬 사람의 말이다.
  2. 나는 한 모습을 본다. 그러나 당장 나타날 모습은 아니다. 나는 그 모습을 환히 본다. 그러나 가까이에 있는 모습은 아니다. 한 별이 야곱에게서 나올 것이다. 한 통치 지팡이가 이스라엘에서 일어설 것이다. 그가 모압의 이마를 칠 것이다. 셋 자손의 영토를 칠 것이다.
  3. 그는 에돔을 차지할 것이다. 대적 세일도 그의 차지가 될 것이다. 이렇게 이스라엘이 힘을 떨칠 것이다.
  4. 야곱에게서 통치자가 나와서, 그 성읍에 살아 남은 자들을 죽일 것이다."
  5. 또 그는 아말렉을 바라보면서 예언을 선포하였다. "아말렉은 민족들 가운데서 으뜸이었으나, 마침내 그는 망할 것이다."
  1. And he looked at the Kenite, and took up his discourse and said, "Your dwelling place is enduring, And your nest is set in the cliff.
  2. "Nevertheless Kain will be consumed; How long will Asshur keep you captive?"
  3. Then he took up his discourse and said, "Alas, who can live except God has ordained it?
  4. "But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim, And they shall afflict Asshur and will afflict Eber; So they also will come to destruction."
  5. Then Balaam arose and departed and returned to his place, and Balak also went his way.
  1. 또 그는 겐 족속을 바라보면서, 예언을 선포하였다. "네가 사는 곳은 든든하다. 너희 보금자리는 바위 위에 있다.
  2. 그러나 가인은 쇠약하여질 것이다. 앗시리아의 포로가 될 것이다."
  3. 또 그는 예언을 선포하였다. "큰일이다. 하나님이 이 일을 하실 때에, 누가 살아 남을 수 있으랴?
  4. 함대들이 키프로스 쪽에서 온다. 그것들이 앗시리아를 괴롭히고, 에벨도 괴롭힐 것이다. 그러나 그것들마저도 망하고야 말 것이다."
  5. 발람은 급히 길을 떠나서, 그가 살던 곳으로 돌아갔다. 발락도 제가 갈 곳으로 갔다.
 
  이스라엘의 우상 숭배(25:1-25:18)    
 
  1. While Israel remained at Shittim, the people began to play the harlot with the daughters of Moab.
  2. For they invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods.
  3. So Israel joined themselves to Baal of Peor, and the LORD was angry against Israel.
  4. The LORD said to Moses, "Take all the leaders of the people and execute them in broad daylight before the LORD, so that the fierce anger of the LORD may turn away from Israel."
  5. So Moses said to the judges of Israel, "Each of you slay his men who have joined themselves to Baal of Peor."
  1. 이스라엘이 싯딤에 머무는 동안에, 백성들이 모압 사람의 딸들과 음행을 하기 시작하였다.
  2. 모압 사람의 딸들이 자기 신들에게 바치는 제사에 이스라엘 백성을 초대하였고, 이스라엘 백성은 거기에 가서 먹고, 그 신들에게 머리를 숙였다.
  3. 그래서 이스라엘은 바알브올과 결합하였다. 주님께서는 이스라엘에게 크게 진노하셨다.
  4. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 백성의 우두머리들을 모두 잡아다가, 해가 환히 비치는 대낮에, 주 앞에서 그것들의 목을 매달아라. 그래야만 나 주의 진노가 이스라엘에서 떠날 것이다."
  5. 모세는 이스라엘 재판관들에게 말하였다. "당신들은 제각기 당신들의 남자들 가운데서 바알브올과 결합한 자들을 죽이시오!"
  1. Then behold, one of the sons of Israel came and brought to his relatives a Midianite woman, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, while they were weeping at the doorway of the tent of meeting.
  2. When Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he arose from the midst of the congregation and took a spear in his hand,
  3. and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and pierced both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman, through the body. So the plague on the sons of Israel was checked.
  4. Those who died by the plague were 24,000.
  5. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
  1. 이스라엘 자손이 회막 어귀에서 통곡하고 있을 때에, 이스라엘 자손 가운데서 한 남자가, 모세와 이스라엘 자손 온 회중이 보는 앞에서 한 미디안 여자를 데리고 집으로 들어갔다.
  2. 아론의 손자이자 엘르아살의 아들인 제사장 비느하스가 이것을 보고 회중 가운데서 나와, 창을 들고,
  3. 그 두 남녀를 따라 장막 안으로 들어가, 이스라엘 남자와 미디안 여자의 배를 꿰뚫으니, 염병이 이스라엘 자손 사이에서 그쳤다.
  4. 그러나 그 염병으로 이미 죽은 사람이 이만 사천 명이었다.
  5. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  1. "Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned away My wrath from the sons of Israel in that he was jealous with My jealousy among them, so that I did not destroy the sons of Israel in My jealousy.
  2. "Therefore say, 'Behold, I give him My covenant of peace;
  3. and it shall be for him and his descendants after him, a covenant of a perpetual priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the sons of Israel.'"
  4. Now the name of the slain man of Israel who was slain with the Midianite woman, was Zimri the son of Salu, a leader of a father's household among the Simeonites.
  5. The name of the Midianite woman who was slain was Cozbi the daughter of Zur, who was head of the people of a father's household in Midian.
  1. "아론의 손자이자 엘르아살의 아들인 제사장 비느하스가 한 일을 보아서, 내가 더 이상 이스라엘 자손에게 화를 내지 않겠다. 그는, 이스라엘 자손이 나 밖의 다른 신을 섬기는 것을 결코 용납하지 않았다. 그러므로 나는, 이스라엘 자손을 홧김에 멸하는 일은 삼갔다.
  2. 그러므로 너는, 내가 비느하스와 평화의 언약을 맺으려 한다고 말하여라.
  3. 그와 그 뒤를 잇는 자손에게, 영원한 제사장 직분을 보장하는 언약을 세우겠다. 그는 나 밖의 다른 신을 섬기는 것을 용납하지 않았고, 그렇게 함으로써 이스라엘 자손의 죄를 속해 주었기 때문이다."
  4. 미디안 여자와 함께 죽은 그 이스라엘 남자는, 시므온 가문의 지도자인 살루의 아들 시므리이다.
  5. 그와 함께 죽은 미디안 여자는, 미디안에 있는 한 가문의 종파 우두머리인 수르의 딸 고스비이다.
  1. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
  2. "Be hostile to the Midianites and strike them;
  3. for they have been hostile to you with their tricks, with which they have deceived you in the affair of Peor and in the affair of Cozbi, the daughter of the leader of Midian, their sister who was slain on the day of the plague because of Peor."
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 다음과 같이 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너희는 미디안 사람을 원수로 여겨, 그들을 쳐죽여라.
  3. 그들은 브올에서 생겼던 일과, 미디안의 한 우두머리의 딸, 곧 브올에서 생긴 일로 염병이 돌던 때에 처형당한 그들의 누이 고스비의 일로 너희를 속였고, 그렇게 너희를 속였을 때에, 이미 너희에게 고통을 주었기 때문이다."
 
  쇠미(衰微, 24:22)  점차 소멸되어 감
