신명기 24:1-26:11

 모세는 일상 생활과 관련된 여러 가지 율법들을 제시하면서, 특별히 가난한 자들에 대한 배려를 잊지 말 것을 권고했다. 그리고 범법자에 대한 처벌은 경중을 따져 적절히 시행할 것과, 상거래에 있어 정당한 저울 추를 사용할 것과, 아말렉을 도말할 것을 명령했다. 또한 가나안 정착 후 땅의 첫 소산물을 하나님께 드리며 신앙을 고백하라고 명했다.
  
  가정사에 대한 규례(24:1-24:22)    
 
  1. "When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out from his house,
  2. and she leaves his house and goes and becomes another man's wife,
  3. and if the latter husband turns against her and writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife,
  4. then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her again to be his wife, since she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring sin on the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance.
  5. "When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out with the army nor be charged with any duty; he shall be free at home one year and shall give happiness to his wife whom he has taken.
  1. "남녀가 결혼을 하고 난 다음에, 남편이 아내에게서 수치스러운 일을 발견하여 아내와 같이 살 마음이 없을 때에는, 아내에게 이혼증서를 써주고, 그 여자를 자기 집에서 내보낼 수 있습니다.
  2. 그 여자가 그의 집을 떠나가서 다른 남자의 아내가 되었는데,
  3. 그 둘째 남편도 그 여자를 싫어하여 이혼증서를 써주고 그 여자를 자기 집에서 내보냈거나, 그 여자와 결혼한 둘째 남편이 죽었을 경우에는,
  4. 그 여자가 이미 몸을 더럽혔으므로, 그를 내보낸 첫 번째 남편은 그를 다시 아내로 맞아들일 수 없습니다. 이런 일은 주님 앞에서 역겨운 일입니다. 당신들은 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들에게 유산으로 주신 땅을 죄로 물들게 해서는 안 됩니다."
  5. "아내를 맞은 새신랑을 군대에 내보내서는 안 되고, 어떤 의무도 그에게 지워서는 안 됩니다. 그는 한 해 동안 자유롭게 집에 있으면서, 결혼한 아내를 기쁘게 해주어야 합니다.
  1. "No one shall take a handmill or an upper millstone in pledge, for he would be taking a life in pledge.
  2. "If a man is caught kidnapping any of his countrymen of the sons of Israel, and he deals with him violently or sells him, then that thief shall die; so you shall purge the evil from among you.
  3. "Be careful against an infection of leprosy, that you diligently observe and do according to all that the Levitical priests teach you; as I have commanded them, so you shall be careful to do.
  4. "Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam on the way as you came out of Egypt.
  5. "When you make your neighbor a loan of any sort, you shall not enter his house to take his pledge.
  1. 맷돌은, 전부나 그 위짝 하나라도, 저당을 잡을 수 없습니다. 이것은 사람의 생명을 저당잡는 것과 마찬가지이기 때문입니다.
  2. 어떤 사람이 같은 겨레인 이스라엘 사람을 유괴하여 노예로 부리거나 판 것이 드러나거든, 그 유괴한 사람은 죽여야 합니다. 당신들은 당신들 가운데서 그러한 악의 뿌리를 뽑아야 합니다.
  3. 악성 피부병에 걸린 사람에 대하여는, 레위 사람 제사장들이 당신들에게 가르쳐 주는 대로, 모든 것을 철저히 지켜야 합니다. 내가 그들에게 명령한 대로 지키십시오.

  1. "You shall remain outside, and the man to whom you make the loan shall bring the pledge out to you.
  2. "If he is a poor man, you shall not sleep with his pledge.
  3. "When the sun goes down you shall surely return the pledge to him, that he may sleep in his cloak and bless you; and it will be righteousness for you before the LORD your God.
  4. "You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of your aliens who is in your land in your towns.
  5. "You shall give him his wages on his day before the sun sets, for he is poor and sets his heart on it; so that he will not cry against you to the LORD and it become sin in you.
  1. 당신들은 바깥에 서 있고, 당신들에게서 꾸는 이웃이 담보물을 가지고 당신들에게로 나아오게 하십시오.
  2. 그 사람이 가난한 사람이면, 당신들은 그의 담보물을 당신들의 집에 잡아 둔 채 잠자리에 들면 안 됩니다.
  3. 해가 질 무렵에는 그 담보물을 반드시 그에게 되돌려주어야 합니다. 그래야만 그가 담보로 잡혔던 그 겉옷을 덮고 잠자리에 들 것이며, 당신들에게 복을 빌어 줄 것입니다. 이렇게 하는 것이 주 당신들의 하나님이 보시기에 옳은 일입니다.
  4. 같은 겨레 가운데서나 당신들 땅 성문 안에 사는 외국 사람 가운데서, 가난하여 품팔이하는 사람을 억울하게 해서는 안 됩니다.
  5. 그 날 품삯은 그 날로 주되, 해가 지기 전에 주어야 합니다. 그는 가난한 사람이기 때문에 그 날 품삯을 그 날 받아야 살아갈 수 있습니다. 그가 그 날 품삯을 못받아, 당신들을 원망하면서 주님께 호소하면, 당신들에게 죄가 돌아갈 것입니다.
  1. "Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death for their fathers; everyone shall be put to death for his own sin.
  2. "You shall not pervert the justice due an alien or an orphan, nor take a widow's garment in pledge.
  3. "But you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and that the LORD your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.
  4. "When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
  5. "When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow.
  1. 자식이 지은 죄 때문에 부모를 죽일 수 없고, 부모의 죄 때문에 자식을 죽일 수 없습니다. 사람은 저마다 자기가 지은 죄 때문에만 죽임을 당할 것입니다.
  2. 외국 사람과 고아의 소송을 맡아 억울하게 재판해서는 안 됩니다. 과부의 옷을 저당잡아서는 안 됩니다.
  3. 당신들은 이집트에서 종살이하던 것과 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들을 거기에서 속량하여 주신 것을 기억하십시오. 내가 당신들에게 이런 명령을 하는 까닭도 바로 여기에 있습니다.
  4. 당신들이 밭에서 곡식을 거둘 때에, 곡식 한 묶음을 잊어버리고 왔거든, 그것을 가지러 되돌아가지 마십시오. 그것은 외국 사람과 고아와 과부에게 돌아갈 몫입니다. 그래야만 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들이 하는 모든 일에 복을 내려 주실 것입니다.
  5. 당신들은 올리브 나무 열매를 딴 뒤에 그 가지를 다시 살피지 마십시오. 그 남은 것은 외국 사람과 고아와 과부의 것입니다.
  1. "When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not go over it again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow.
  2. "You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.
  1. 당신들은 포도를 딸 때에도 따고 난 뒤에 남은 것을 다시 따지 마십시오. 그 남은 것은 외국 사람과 고아와 과부의 것입니다.
  2. 당신들은 이집트 땅에서 종살이하던 때를 기억하십시오. 내가 당신들에게 이런 명령을 하는 까닭도 바로 여기에 있습니다.
 
  인간 관계에 대한 규례(25:1-25:19)    
 
  1. "If there is a dispute between men and they go to court, and the judges decide their case, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked,
  2. then it shall be if the wicked man deserves to be beaten, the judge shall then make him lie down and be beaten in his presence with the number of stripes according to his guilt.
  3. "He may beat him forty times but no more, so that he does not beat him with many more stripes than these and your brother is not degraded in your eyes.
  4. "You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing.
  5. "When brothers live together and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the deceased shall not be married outside the family to a strange man. Her husband's brother shall go in to her and take her to himself as wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother to her.
  1. 사람들 사이에 분쟁이 생겨서, 그들이 법정에 서게 되면, 재판장은 그들을 재판하여, 옳은 사람에게는 무죄를, 잘못한 사람에게는 유죄를 선고해야 합니다.
  2. 유죄를 선고받은 사람이 매를 맞을 사람이면, 재판관은 그를 자기 앞에 엎드리게 하고, 죄의 정도에 따라 매를 때리게 해야 합니다.
  3. 그러나 매를 마흔 대가 넘도록 때려서는 안 됩니다. 마흔이 넘도록 때려서, 당신들의 겨레가 당신들 앞에서 천히 여김을 받아서는 안 됩니다.
  4. 곡식을 밟으면서 타작하는 소의 입에 망을 씌우지 마십시오."
  5. "형제들이 함께 살다가, 그 가운데 한 사람이 아들이 없이 죽었을 때에, 그 죽은 사람의 아내는 딴 집안의 남자와 결혼하지 못합니다. 남편의 형제 한 사람이 그 여자에게 가서, 그 여자를 아내로 맞아, 그의 남편의 형제된 의무를 다해야 합니다.
  1. "It shall be that the firstborn whom she bears shall assume the name of his dead brother, so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel.
  2. "But if the man does not desire to take his brother's wife, then his brother's wife shall go up to the gate to the elders and say, 'My husband's brother refuses to establish a name for his brother in Israel; he is not willing to perform the duty of a husband's brother to me.'
  3. "Then the elders of his city shall summon him and speak to him. And if he persists and says, 'I do not desire to take her,'
  4. then his brother's wife shall come to him in the sight of the elders, and pull his sandal off his foot and spit in his face; and she shall declare, 'Thus it is done to the man who does not build up his brother's house.'
  5. "In Israel his name shall be called, 'The house of him whose sandal is removed.'
  1. 그래서 그 여자가 낳은 첫 아들은 죽은 형제의 이름을 이어받게 하여, 이스라엘 가운데서 그 이름이 끊어지지 않게 해야 합니다.
  2. 그 남자가 자기 형제의 아내와 결혼하는 것을 기뻐하지 않을 경우에, 홀로 남은 그 형제의 아내는 성문 위의 회관에 있는 장로들에게 가서 '남편의 형제가 자기 형제의 이름을 이스라엘 가운데서 잇기를 바라지 않으며, 남편의 형제의 의무도 나에게 하지 않고 있습니다' 하고 호소해야 합니다.
  3. 그러면 그 성읍의 장로들이 그를 불러다가 권면하십시오. 그래도 듣지 않고, 그 여자와 결혼할 마음이 없다고 하면,
  4. 홀로 남은 그 형제의 아내가, 장로들이 보는 앞에서 그에게 나아가서, 그의 발에서 신을 벗기고, 그의 얼굴에 침을 뱉으면서 말하기를 '제 형제의 가문 세우기를 원하지 않는 사람은 이렇게 된다' 하십시오.
  5. 그 다음부터는 이스라엘 가운데서 그의 이름이 '신 벗긴 자의 집안'이라고 불릴 것입니다."
  1. "If two men, a man and his countryman, are struggling together, and the wife of one comes near to deliver her husband from the hand of the one who is striking him, and puts out her hand and seizes his genitals,
  2. then you shall cut off her hand; you shall not show pity.
  3. "You shall not have in your bag differing weights, a large and a small.
  4. "You shall not have in your house differing measures, a large and a small.
  5. "You shall have a full and just weight; you shall have a full and just measure, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
  1. "두 남자가 싸울 때에, 한쪽 남자의 아내가 얻어맞는 남편을 도울 생각으로 가까이 가서, 손을 내밀어 상대방의 음낭을 잡거든,
  2. 당신들은 그 여인의 손을 자르십시오. 조금도 동정심을 가지지 마십시오.

  1. "For everyone who does these things, everyone who acts unjustly is an abomination to the LORD your God.
  2. "Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt,
  3. how he met you along the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were faint and weary; and he did not fear God.
  4. "Therefore it shall come about when the LORD your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget.
  1. 틀리는 추와 되를 가지고 속임수를 쓰는 사람은, 누구든지 주 당신들의 하나님이 싫어하십니다."
  2. "당신들이 이집트에서 나오던 길에, 아말렉 사람이 당신들에게 한 일을 기억하십시오.
  3. 그들은 당신들이 피곤하고 지쳤을 때에, 길에서 당신들을 만나, 당신들 뒤에 처진 사람들을 모조리 쳐죽였습니다. 그들은 하나님을 두려워할 줄 모르는 자들입니다.
  4. 주 당신들의 하나님이 유산으로 주셔서 당신들로 차지하게 하시는 땅에서, 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들 사방의 적들을 물리치셔서 당신들로 안식을 누리게 하실 때에, 당신들은 하늘 아래에서 아말렉 사람을 흔적도 없이 없애버려야 합니다. 이것을 잊지 말아야 합니다."
 
  맏물을 바치는 신앙 고백(26:1-26:11)    
 
  1. "Then it shall be, when you enter the land which the LORD your God gives you as an inheritance, and you possess it and live in it,
  2. that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground which you bring in from your land that the LORD your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket and go to the place where the LORD your God chooses to establish His name.
  3. "You shall go to the priest who is in office at that time and say to him, 'I declare this day to the LORD my God that I have entered the land which the LORD swore to our fathers to give us.'
  4. "Then the priest shall take the basket from your hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God.
  5. "You shall answer and say before the LORD your God, 'My father was a wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt and sojourned there, few in number; but there he became a great, mighty and populous nation.
  1. "주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들에게 유산으로 주시는 그 땅에 당신들이 들어가서 그것을 차지하고 살 때에,
  2. 당신들은 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들에게 주시는 땅에서 거둔 모든 농산물의 첫 열매를 광주리에 담아서, 주 당신들의 하나님이 자기의 이름을 두려고 택하신 곳으로 가지고 가십시오.
  3. 거기에서 당신들은 직무를 맡고 있는 제사장에게 가서 '주님께서 우리 조상에게 주시겠다고 맹세하신 대로, 내가 이 땅에 들어오게 되었음을, 제사장께서 섬기시는 주 하나님께 오늘 아룁니다' 하고 보고를 하십시오.
  4. 제사장이 당신들의 손에서 그 광주리를 받아 주 당신들의 하나님의 제단 앞에 놓으면,
  5. 당신들은 주 당신들의 하나님 앞에서 다음과 같이 아뢰십시오. '내 조상은 떠돌아다니면서 사는 아람 사람으로서 몇 안 되는 사람을 거느리고 이집트로 내려가서, 거기에서 몸붙여 살면서, 거기에서 번성하여, 크고 강대한 민족이 되었습니다.
  1. 'And the Egyptians treated us harshly and afflicted us, and imposed hard labor on us.
  2. 'Then we cried to the LORD, the God of our fathers, and the LORD heard our voice and saw our affliction and our toil and our oppression;
  3. and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with great terror and with signs and wonders;
  4. and He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
  5. 'Now behold, I have brought the first of the produce of the ground which You, O LORD have given me.' And you shall set it down before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God;
  1. 그러자 이집트 사람이 우리를 학대하며 괴롭게 하며, 우리에게 강제노동을 시켰습니다.
  2. 그래서 우리가 주 우리 조상의 하나님께 살려 달라고 부르짖었더니, 주님께서 우리의 울부짖음을 들으시고, 우리가 비참하게 사는 것과 고역에 시달리는 것과 억압에 짓눌려 있는 것을 보시고,
  3. 강한 손과 편 팔과 큰 위엄과 이적과 기사로, 우리를 이집트에서 인도하여 내셨습니다.
  4. 주님께서 우리를 이 곳으로 인도하셔서, 이 땅 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅을 우리에게 주셨습니다.
  5. 주님, 주님께서 내게 주신 땅의 첫 열매를 내가 여기에 가져 왔습니다.' 그리고 당신들은 그것을 주 당신들의 하나님 앞에 놓고, 주 당신들의 하나님께 경배드리고,
  1. and you and the Levite and the alien who is among you shall rejoice in all the good which the LORD your God has given you and your household.
  1. 레위 사람과, 당신들 가운데서 사는 외국 사람과 함께, 주 당신들의 하나님이 당신들과 당신들의 집안에 주신 온갖 좋은 것들을 누리십시오.
