- "Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you; O Israel, if you would listen to Me!
- "Let there be no strange god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god.
- "I, the LORD, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
- "But My people did not listen to My voice, And Israel did not obey Me.
- "So I gave them over to the stubbornness of their heart, To walk in their own devices.

- 내 백성아, 들어라. 내가 너에게 경고하겠다. 이스라엘아, 나는 네가 내 말을 듣기를 바란다.
- '너희 가운데 다른 신을 두지 말며, 이방 신에게 절하지 말아라.
- 나는 너희를 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 낸 주 너희의 하나님이다. 너희의 입을 크게 벌려라. 내가 마음껏 먹여 주겠다' 하였으나,
- 내 백성은 내 말을 듣지 않고, 이스라엘은 내 뜻을 따르지 않았다.
- 그래서 나는 그들의 고집대로 버려 두고, 그들이 원하는 대로 가게 하였다.

- "Oh that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!
- "I would quickly subdue their enemies And turn My hand against their adversaries.
- "Those who hate the LORD would pretend obedience to Him, And their time of punishment would be forever.
- "But I would feed you with the finest of the wheat, And with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."

- 나의 백성 이스라엘이 내 말을 듣기만 했어도, 내가 가라는 길로 가기만 했어도,
- 나는 당장 그들의 원수를 굴복시키고, 내가 손을 들어서 그 대적을 쳤을 것이다.
- 나를 미워하는 자들은 그들 앞에 무릎을 꿇었을 것이며, 이것이 그들의 영원한 운명이 되었을 것이다.
- 그리고 나는 기름진 밀 곡식으로 너희를 먹였을 것이고, 바위에서 따 낸 꿀로 너희를 배부르게 하였을 것이다."
