열왕기상 3:1-4:34

 일천 번제를 드리며 헌신을 다짐하는 솔로몬에게 하나님께서는 그가 구한 지혜와 함께 부와 영광도 주셨다. 솔로몬은 인재를 등용해 신하로 삼고 각지방을 다스리는 12장관을 세움으로써 평화롭고 부강한 왕국을 이루어 나갔다. 이러한 솔로몬의 지혜와 부요함은 세상에 널리 알려졌다.
  
  솔로몬의 지혜(3:1-3:28)    
 
  1. Then Solomon formed a marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter and brought her to the city of David until he had finished building his own house and the house of the LORD and the wall around Jerusalem.
  2. The people were still sacrificing on the high places, because there was no house built for the name of the LORD until those days.
  3. Now Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of his father David, except he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
  4. The king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place; Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
  5. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and God said, "Ask what you wish me to give you."
  1. 솔로몬은, 이집트 왕 바로와 혼인 관계를 맺고, 바로의 딸을 아내로 맞았다. 그리고 그는 자신의 집과 주님의 성전과 예루살렘 성벽의 건축을 모두 끝낼 때까지, 그 아내를 다윗 성에 있게 하였다.
  2. 주님께 예배드릴 성전이 그 때까지도 건축되지 않았으므로, 백성은 그 때까지 여러 곳에 있는 산당에서 제사를 드렸다.
  3. 솔로몬은 주님을 사랑하였으며, 자기 아버지 다윗의 법도를 따랐으나, 그도 여러 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향하였다.
  4. 기브온에 제일 유명한 산당이 있었으므로, 왕은 늘 그 곳에 가서 제사를 드렸다. 솔로몬이 그 때까지 그 제단에 바친 번제물은, 천 마리가 넘을 것이다. 한 번은, 왕이 그리로 제사를 드리러 갔는데,
  5. 그 날 밤에 기브온에서, 주님께서 꿈에 솔로몬에게 나타나셨다. 하나님께서 말씀하시기를 "내가 너에게 무엇을 주기를 바라느냐? 나에게 구하여라" 하셨다.
  1. Then Solomon said, "You have shown great lovingkindness to Your servant David my father, according as he walked before You in truth and righteousness and uprightness of heart toward You; and You have reserved for him this great lovingkindness, that You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
  2. "Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king in place of my father David, yet I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.
  3. "Your servant is in the midst of Your people which You have chosen, a great people who are too many to be numbered or counted.
  4. "So give Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?"
  5. It was pleasing in the sight of the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing.
  1. 솔로몬이 대답하였다. "주님께서는, 주님의 종이요 나의 아버지인 다윗이, 진실과 공의와 정직한 마음으로 주님을 모시고 살았다고 해서, 큰 은혜를 베풀어 주시고, 또 그 큰 은혜로 그를 지켜 주셔서, 오늘과 같이 이렇게 그 보좌에 앉을 아들까지 주셨습니다.
  2. 그러나 주 나의 하나님, 주님께서는, 내가 아직 어린 아이인데도, 나의 아버지 다윗의 뒤를 이어서, 주님의 종인 나를 왕이 되게 하셨습니다. 나는 아직 나가고 들어오고 하는 처신을 제대로 할 줄 모릅니다.
  3. 주님의 종은, 주님께서 선택하신 백성, 곧 그 수를 셀 수도 없고 계산을 할 수도 없을 만큼 큰 백성 가운데 하나일 뿐입니다.
  4. 그러므로 주님의 종에게 지혜로운 마음을 주셔서, 주님의 백성을 재판하고, 선과 악을 분별할 수 있게 해주시기를 바랍니다. 이렇게 많은 주님의 백성을 누가 재판할 수 있겠습니까?"
  5. 주님께서는 솔로몬이 이렇게 청한 것이 마음에 드셨다.
  1. God said to him, "Because you have asked this thing and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself discernment to understand justice,
  2. behold, I have done according to your words Behold, I have given you a wise and discerning heart, so that there has been no one like you before you, nor shall one like you arise after you.
  3. "I have also given you what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there will not be any among the kings like you all your days.
  4. "If you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and commandments, as your father David walked, then I will prolong your days."
  5. Then Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream And he came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and made peace offerings, and made a feast for all his servants.
  1. 그러므로 하나님께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. "네가 스스로를 생각하여 오래 사는 것이나 부유한 것이나 원수갚는 것을 요구하지 아니하고, 다만 재판하는 데에, 듣고서 무엇이 옳은지 분별하는 능력을 요구하였으므로,
  2. 이제 나는 네 말대로, 네게 지혜롭고 총명한 마음을 준다. 너와 같은 사람이 너보다 앞에도 없었고, 네 뒤에도 없을 것이다.
  3. 나는 또한, 네가 달라고 하지 아니한 부귀와 영화도 모두 너에게 주겠다. 네 일생 동안, 왕 가운데서 너와 견줄 만한 사람이 없을 것이다.
  4. 그리고 네 아버지 다윗이 한 것과 같이, 네가 나의 길을 걸으며, 내 법도와 명령을 지키면, 네가 오래 살도록 해주겠다."
  5. 솔로몬이 깨어나서 보니, 꿈이었다. 그는 곧바로 예루살렘으로 가서, 주님의 언약궤 앞에 서서, 번제와 화목제를 드리고, 모든 신하에게 잔치도 베풀어 주었다.
  1. Then two women who were harlots came to the king and stood before him.
  2. The one woman said, "Oh, my lord, this woman and I live in the same house; and I gave birth to a child while she was in the house.
  3. "It happened on the third day after I gave birth, that this woman also gave birth to a child, and we were together. There was no stranger with us in the house, only the two of us in the house.
  4. "This woman's son died in the night, because she lay on it.
  5. "So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from beside me while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead son in my bosom.
  1. 하루는 창녀 두 사람이 왕에게 와서, 그 앞에 섰다.
  2. 그 가운데서 한 여자가 나서서 말을 하였다. "임금님께 아룁니다. 저희 두 사람은 한 집에 살고 있습니다. 제가 아이를 낳을 때에 저 여자도 저와 함께 있었습니다.
  3. 그리고 제가 아이를 낳은 지 사흘 만에 저 여자도 아이를 낳았습니다. 그 집 안에는 우리 둘만 있을 뿐이고, 다른 사람은 아무도 없었습니다.
  4. 그런데 저 여자가 잠을 자다가, 그만 잘못하여 자기의 아이를 깔아 뭉개었으므로, 그 아들은 그 날 밤에 죽었습니다.
  5. 그런데 이 종이 깊이 잠든 사이에, 저 여자가 한밤중에 일어나서 아이를 바꾸었습니다. 저의 옆에 누워 있는 저의 아들을 데리고 가서 자기 품에 두고, 자기의 죽은 아들은 저의 품에 뉘어 놓았습니다.
  1. "When I rose in the morning to nurse my son, behold, he was dead; but when I looked at him carefully in the morning, behold, he was not my son, whom I had borne."
  2. Then the other woman said, "No! For the living one is my son, and the dead one is your son." But the first woman said, "No! For the dead one is your son, and the living one is my son." Thus they spoke before the king.
  3. Then the king said, "The one says, 'This is my son who is living, and your son is the dead one'; and the other says, 'No! For your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.'"
  4. The king said, "Get me a sword." So they brought a sword before the king.
  5. The king said, "Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one and half to the other."
  1. 제가 새벽에 저의 아들에게 젖을 먹이려고 일어나서 보니, 아이가 죽어 있었습니다. 아침에 제가 자세히 들여다 보았는데, 그 아이는 제가 낳은 아들이 아니었습니다."
  2. 그러자 다른 여자가 대들었다. 그렇지 않다는 것이었다. 살아 있는 아이가 자기의 아들이고, 죽은 아이는 다른 여자의 아들이라고 우겼다. 먼저 말을 한 여자도 지지 않고, 살아 있는 아이가 자기 아들이고, 죽은 아이는 자기의 아들이 아니라고 맞섰다. 그들은 이렇게 왕 앞에서 다투었다.
  3. 왕은 속으로 생각하였다. '두 여자가 서로, 살아 있는 아이를 자기의 아들이라고 하고, 죽은 아이를 다른 여자의 아들이라고 한다. 그렇다면 좋은 수가 있다.'
  4. 왕은 신하들에게 칼을 가져 오게 하였다. 신하들이 칼을 왕 앞으로 가져 오니,
  5. 왕이 명령을 내렸다. "살아 있는 이 아이를 둘로 나누어서, 반쪽은 이 여자에게 주고, 나머지 반쪽은 저 여자에게 주어라."
  1. Then the woman whose child was the living one spoke to the king, for she was deeply stirred over her son and said, "Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him." But the other said, "He shall be neither mine nor yours; divide him!"
  2. Then the king said, "Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him. She is his mother."
  3. When all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had handed down, they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.
  1. 그러자 살아 있는 그 아이의 어머니는, 자기 아들에 대한 모정이 불타 올라, 왕에게 애원하였다. "제발, 임금님, 살아 있는 이 아이를, 저 여자에게 주시어도 좋으니, 아이를 죽이지는 말아 주십시오." 그러나 다른 여자는 "어차피, 내 아이도 안 될 테고, 네 아이도 안 될 테니, 차라리 나누어 가지자" 하고 말하였다.
  2. 그 때에 드디어 왕이 명령을 내렸다. "살아 있는 아이를 죽이지 말고, 아이를 양보한 저 여자에게 주어라. 저 여자가 그 아이의 어머니이다."
  3. 모든 이스라엘 사람이, 왕이 재판한 판결 소식을 들었다. 그리고 백성들은, 왕이 재판할 때에 하나님께서 주시는 지혜로 공정하게 판단한다는 것을 알고, 왕을 두려워하였다.
 
  솔로몬의 번영(4:1-4:34)    
 
  1. Now King Solomon was king over all Israel.
  2. These were his officials: Azariah the son of Zadok was the priest;
  3. Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha were secretaries; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was the recorder;
  4. and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the army; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
  5. and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the deputies; and Zabud the son of Nathan, a priest, was the king's friend;
  1. 솔로몬 왕이 온 이스라엘을 다스리는 왕이 되었을 때에,
  2. 그가 거느린 고급 관리들은 다음과 같다. 사독의 아들 아사랴는 제사장이고,
  3. 시사의 아들 엘리호렙과 아히야는 서기관이고, 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 역사 기록관이고,
  4. 여호야다의 아들 브나야는 군사령관이고, 사독과 아비아달은 제사장이고,
  5. 나단의 아들 아사랴는 관리를 지휘하는 장관이고, 나단의 아들 사붓은 제사장 겸 왕의 개인 자문관이고,
  1. and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the men subject to forced labor.
  2. Solomon had twelve deputies over all Israel, who provided for the king and his household; each man had to provide for a month in the year.
  3. These are their names: Ben-hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;
  4. Ben-deker in Makaz and Shaalbim and Beth-shemesh and Elonbeth-hanan;
  5. Ben-hesed, in Arubboth (Socoh was his and all the land of Hepher);
  1. 아히살은 궁내 대신이고, 압다의 아들 아도니람은 강제노역 책임자였다.
  2. 솔로몬은 온 이스라엘 지역에다가, 관리를 지휘하는 장관 열둘을 두었는데, 그들은 각각 한 사람이 한 해에 한 달씩, 왕과 왕실에서 쓸 먹거리를 대는 책임을 졌다.
  3. 그들의 이름은 다음과 같다. 에브라임 산간지역은 벤훌이 맡았다.
  4. 마가스와 사알빔과 벳세메스와 엘론벳하난 지역은 벤데겔이 맡았다.
  5. 아룹봇과 소고와 헤벨 전 지역은 벤헤셋이 맡았다.
  1. Ben-abinadab, in all the height of Dor (Taphath the daughter of Solomon was his wife);
  2. Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-shean which is beside Zarethan below Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah as far as the other side of Jokmeam;
  3. Ben-geber, in Ramoth-gilead (the towns of Jair, the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead were his: the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars were his);
  4. Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
  5. Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he also married Basemath the daughter of Solomon);
  1. 돌의 고지대 전 지역은 벤아비나답이 맡았는데, 그는 솔로몬의 딸 다밧의 남편이다.
  2. 다아낙과 므깃도와 이스르엘 아래 사르단 옆에 있는 벳산 전 지역과 저 멀리 아벨므홀라와 욕느암에 이르는 지역은 아힐룻의 아들 바아나가 맡았다.
  3. 길르앗의 라못 지역과 길르앗에 있는 므낫세의 아들 야일의 모든 동네와 바산에 있는 아르곱 지역의 성벽과 놋빗장을 갖춘 예순 개의 큰 성읍은 벤게벨이 맡았다.
  4. 마하나임 지역은 잇도의 아들 아히나답이 맡았다.
  5. 납달리 지역은 솔로몬의 딸 바스맛의 남편 아히마아스가 맡았다.
  1. Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
  2. Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;
  3. Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;
  4. Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only deputy who was in the land.
  5. Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand that is on the seashore in abundance; they were eating and drinking and rejoicing.
  1. 야셀과 아롯 지역은 후새의 아들 바아나가 맡았다.
  2. 잇사갈 지역은 바루아의 아들 여호사밧이 맡았다.
  3. 베냐민 지역은 엘라의 아들 시므이가 맡았다.
  4. 길르앗 땅은 우리의 아들 게벨이 맡았다. 이 곳 길르앗은 아모리 사람의 왕 시혼과 바산 왕 옥의 땅이었다. 이 열둘 밖에도, 온 땅을 맡아서 관리하는 장관이 따로 있었다.
  5. 유다와 이스라엘에는 인구가 늘어나서, 마치 바닷가의 모래알처럼 사람이 많아졌지만, 먹고 마시는 것에 모자람이 없었으므로, 백성들이 잘 지냈다.
  1. Now Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt; they brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
  2. Solomon's provision for one day was thirty kors of fine flour and sixty kors of meal,
  3. ten fat oxen, twenty pasture-fed oxen, a hundred sheep besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened fowl.
  4. For he had dominion over everything west of the River, from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings west of the River; and he had peace on all sides around about him.
  5. So Judah and Israel lived in safety, every man under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.
  1. 솔로몬은 유프라테스 강에서부터 블레셋 영토에 이르기까지, 또 이집트의 국경에 이르기까지, 모든 왕국을 다스리고, 그 왕국들은 솔로몬이 살아 있는 동안, 조공을 바치면서 솔로몬을 섬겼다.
  2. 솔로몬이 쓰는 하루 먹거리는 잘 빻은 밀가루 서른 섬과 거친 밀가루 예순 섬과
  3. 살진 소 열 마리와 목장 소 스무 마리와 양 백 마리이고, 그 밖에 수사슴과 노루와 암사슴과 살진 새 들이었다.
  4. 솔로몬은 유프라테스 강 이쪽에 있는 모든 지역 곧 딥사에서부터 가사에 이르기까지, 유프라테스 강 서쪽의 모든 왕을 다스리며, 주위의 모든 민족과 평화를 유지하였다.
  5. 그래서 솔로몬의 일생 동안에 단에서부터 브엘세바에 이르기까지, 유다와 이스라엘의 모든 사람은 저마다 자기의 포도나무와 무화과나무 아래에서 평화를 누리며 살았다.
  1. Solomon had 40,000 stalls of horses for his chariots, and 12,000 horsemen.
  2. Those deputies provided for King Solomon and all who came to King Solomon's table, each in his month; they left nothing lacking.
  3. They also brought barley and straw for the horses and swift steeds to the place where it should be, each according to his charge.
  4. Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore.
  5. Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.
  1. 솔로몬은 전차를 끄는 말을 두는 마구간 사만 칸과 군마 만 이천 필을 가지고 있었다.
  2. 그리고 솔로몬의 관리들은 각자 자기가 책임진 달에, 솔로몬 왕과 솔로몬 왕의 식탁에 참석하는 모든 사람이 먹을 수 있도록, 부족하지 않게 먹거리를 조달하였다.
  3. 또한 군마와 역마에게 먹일 보리와 보리짚도 각각 자기의 분담량에 따라서, 말이 있는 곳으로 가져 왔다.
  4. 하나님께서 솔로몬에게 지혜와 총명과 넓은 마음을 바닷가의 모래알처럼 한없이 많이 주시니,
  5. 솔로몬의 지혜는 동양의 어느 누구보다도, 또 이집트의 어느 누구보다도 더 뛰어났다.
  1. For he was wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, Heman, Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was known in all the surrounding nations.
  2. He also spoke 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were 1,005.
  3. He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that grows on the wall; he spoke also of animals and birds and creeping things and fish.
  4. Men came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
  1. 그는 어느 누구보다도 더 지혜로웠다. 예스라 사람 에단과 마홀의 아들 헤만과 갈골과 다르다보다도 더 지혜로웠으므로, 그의 명성은 주위의 모든 민족 가운데 자자하였다.
  2. 그는 삼천 가지의 잠언을 말하였고, 천다섯 편의 노래를 지었고,
  3. 레바논에 있는 백향목으로부터 벽에 붙어서 사는 우슬초에 이르기까지, 모든 초목을 놓고 논할 수 있었고, 짐승과 새와 기어다니는 것과 물고기를 두고서도 가릴 것 없이 논할 수 있었다.
  4. 그래서 그의 지혜에 관한 소문을 들은 모든 백성과 지상의 모든 왕은, 솔로몬의 지혜를 들어서 배우려고 몰려 왔다.
