- When they became envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD,
- The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And engulfed the company of Abiram.
- And a fire blazed up in their company; The flame consumed the wicked.
- They made a calf in Horeb And worshiped a molten image.
- Thus they exchanged their glory For the image of an ox that eats grass.

- They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt,
- Wonders in the land of Ham And awesome things by the Red Sea.
- Therefore He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, To turn away His wrath from destroying them.
- Then they despised the pleasant land; They did not believe in His word,
- But grumbled in their tents; They did not listen to the voice of the LORD.

- 함의 땅에서 행하신 놀라운 이적들도, 홍해에서 행하신 두려운 일들도, 그들은 모두 잊어버렸습니다.
- 그래서 주님께서는, 그들을 멸망시키겠다고 선언하셨으나, 주님께서 택하신 모세가 감히 주님 앞에 나아가 그 갈라진 틈에 서서 파멸의 분노를 거두어들이시게 하였습니다.
- 그들은 주님께서 주신 그 낙토를 천하게 여기고, 주님의 약속을 믿지 않았습니다.
- 그들은 장막에서 불평만 하면서, 주님의 말씀에 순종하지 않았습니다.

- Therefore He swore to them That He would cast them down in the wilderness,
- And that He would cast their seed among the nations And scatter them in the lands.

- 그래서 주님께서는 그들에게 손을 들어 맹세하시고, 그들을 광야에서 쓰러지게 하셨으며,
- 그 자손을 뭇 나라 앞에서 거꾸러지게 하시고, 이 나라 저 나라로 흩어지게 하셨습니다.
