이사야 34:1-36:22

 이사야는 하나님께서 만국을 향해 진노하셔서 그들을 진멸하시고 에돔 땅에서 큰 살륙을 행하실 것이라고 하였다. 그러나 구속함을 입은 자들은 시온에 이르러 기쁨과 즐거움을 얻을 것이라고 예언하였다.
앗수르 왕 산헤립이 유다를 침공하여 하나님과 애굽을 의지하던 히스기야 왕과 그의 백성들을 욕되게 하였다.
  
  열국에 대한 심판(34:1-34:17)    
 
  1. Draw near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples! Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.
  2. For the LORD'S indignation is against all the nations, And His wrath against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to slaughter.
  3. So their slain will be thrown out, And their corpses will give off their stench, And the mountains will be drenched with their blood.
  4. And all the host of heaven will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree.
  5. For My sword is satiated in heaven, Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom And upon the people whom I have devoted to destruction.
  1. 민족들아, 가까이 와서 들어라. 백성들아, 귀를 기울여라. 땅과 거기에 가득한 것들아, 세상과 그 안에서 사는 모든 것들아, 들어라.
  2. 주님께서 모든 민족에게 진노하시고, 그들의 모든 군대에게 분노하셔서 그들을 진멸시키시려고 하신다. 그들이 살해당하도록 버려 두시기로 작정하셨다.
  3. 죽은 자들이 내동댕이쳐져서, 그 시체에서는 악취가 솟아오르며, 홍수처럼 흐르는 피에 산들이 무너져 내릴 것이다.
  4. 해와 달과 별들이 떨어져서 가루가 되고, 하늘은 마치 두루마리처럼 말릴 것이다. 포도나무의 잎이 말라 떨어지듯이, 무화과나무의 잎이 말라 떨어지듯이, 하늘에 있는 별들이 떨어질 것이다.
  5. "나의 칼이 하늘에서 흡족하게 마셨으니, 그 칼이 이제 에돔을 칠 것이다. 내가 나의 칼에게, 에돔을 심판하여 진멸시키라고 명하였다."
  1. The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, It is sated with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
  2. Wild oxen will also fall with them And young bulls with strong ones; Thus their land will be soaked with blood, And their dust become greasy with fat.
  3. For the LORD has a day of vengeance, A year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
  4. Its streams will be turned into pitch, And its loose earth into brimstone, And its land will become burning pitch.
  5. It will not be quenched night or day; Its smoke will go up forever From generation to generation it will be desolate; None will pass through it forever and ever.
  1. 제물을 잡은 주님의 칼이 어린 양과 염소의 피에 흥건히 젖고, 숫양의 콩팥에서 나온 기름이 그 칼에 엉겨붙듯이, 주님의 칼이 그들의 피에 흥건히 젖고, 그 기름이 그 칼에 엉겨붙었다. 주님께서 보스라에서 그 백성을 희생제물로 잡으시고 에돔 땅에서 그 백성을 크게 살육하신 것이다.
  2. 백성이 들소처럼 쓰러질 것이다. 송아지와 황소처럼 쓰러질 것이다. 땅이 핏빛으로 물들고, 흙이 기름에 엉길 것이다.
  3. 이 때가 바로, 주님께서 복수하시는 날이니, 시온을 구하여 주시고 대적을 파멸시키시는 해, 보상하여 주시는 해이다.
  4. 에돔의 강들이 역청으로 변하고, 흙이 유황으로 변하고, 온 땅이 역청처럼 타오를 것이다.
  5. 그 불이 밤낮으로 꺼지지 않고 타서, 그 연기가 끊임없이 치솟으며, 에돔은 영원토록 황폐하여, 영원히 그리로 지나가는 사람이 없을 것이다.
  1. But pelican and hedgehog will possess it, And owl and raven will dwell in it; And He will stretch over it the line of desolation And the plumb line of emptiness.
  2. Its nobles--there is no one there Whom they may proclaim king-- And all its princes will be nothing.
  3. Thorns will come up in its fortified towers, Nettles and thistles in its fortified cities; It will also be a haunt of jackals And an abode of ostriches.
  4. The desert creatures will meet with the wolves, The hairy goat also will cry to its kind; Yes, the night monster will settle there And will find herself a resting place.
  5. The tree snake will make its nest and lay eggs there, And it will hatch and gather them under its protection. Yes, the hawks will be gathered there, Every one with its kind.
  1. 펠리컨과 고슴도치가 그 땅을 차지하겠고, 부엉이와 까마귀가 거기에서 자리를 잡을 것이다. 주님께서 에돔을 '혼돈의 줄'과 '황무의 추'로 재실 터이니, 에돔을 창조 전처럼 황무하게 하실 것이다.
  2. 거기에는, 나라를 세울 통치자들이 없을 것이며, 백성을 다스릴 지도자도 없을 것이다.
  3. 궁궐이 있던 곳마다 가시나무가 돋아나고, 그 요새에는 쐐기풀과 엉겅퀴만 무성할 것이다. 그 곳은 승냥이 떼의 굴이 되고, 타조들의 집이 될 것이다.
  4. 거기에서는 들짐승들이 이리 떼와 만나고, 숫염소가 소리를 내어 서로를 찾을 것이다. 밤짐승이 거기에서 머물러 쉴 곳을 찾을 것이다.
  5. 부엉이가 집을 만들어 거기에 깃들고, 그 알을 낳아 까서, 제 몸으로 그늘을 만들어 덮을 것이다. 솔개들도 제 짝과 함께 그리로 모일 것이다.
  1. Seek from the book of the LORD, and read: Not one of these will be missing; None will lack its mate For His mouth has commanded, And His Spirit has gathered them.
  2. He has cast the lot for them, And His hand has divided it to them by line They shall possess it forever; From generation to generation they will dwell in it.
  1. 주님의 책을 자세히 읽어 보아라. 이 짐승들 가운데서 어느 것 하나 빠지는 것이 없겠고, 하나도 그 짝이 없는 짐승은 없을 것이다. 주님께서 친히 입을 열어 그렇게 되라고 명하셨고 주님의 영이 친히 그 짐승들을 모으실 것이기 때문이다.
  2. 주님께서 친히 그 짐승들에게 땅을 나누어 주시고, 손수 줄을 그어서 그렇게 나누어 주실 것이니, 그 짐승들이 영원히 그 땅을 차지할 것이며, 세세토록 거기에서 살 것이다.
 
  구속받은 자의 기쁨(35:1-35:10)    
 
  1. The wilderness and the desert will be glad, And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom; Like the crocus
  2. It will blossom profusely And rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, The majesty of Carmel and Sharon They will see the glory of the LORD, The majesty of our God.
  3. Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble.
  4. Say to those with anxious heart, "Take courage, fear not Behold, your God will come with vengeance; The recompense of God will come, But He will save you."
  5. Then the eyes of the blind will be opened And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.
  1. 광야와 메마른 땅이 기뻐하며, 사막이 백합화처럼 피어 즐거워할 것이다.
  2. 사막은 꽃이 무성하게 피어, 크게 기뻐하며, 즐겁게 소리 칠 것이다. 레바논의 영광과 갈멜과 샤론의 영화가, 사막에서 꽃 피며, 사람들이 주님의 영광을 보며, 우리 하나님의 영화를 볼 것이다.
  3. 너희는 맥풀린 손이 힘을 쓰게 하여라. 떨리는 무릎을 굳세게 하여라.
  4. 두려워하는 사람을 격려하여라. "굳세어라. 두려워하지 말아라. 너희의 하나님께서 복수하러 오신다. 하나님께서 보복하러 오신다. 너희를 구원하여 주신다" 하고 말하여라.
  5. 그 때에 눈먼 사람의 눈이 밝아지고, 귀먹은 사람의 귀가 열릴 것이다.
  1. Then the lame will leap like a deer, And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy For waters will break forth in the wilderness And streams in the Arabah.
  2. The scorched land will become a pool And the thirsty ground springs of water; In the haunt of jackals, its resting place, Grass becomes reeds and rushes.
  3. A highway will be there, a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness The unclean will not travel on it, But it will be for him who walks that way, And fools will not wander on it.
  4. No lion will be there, Nor will any vicious beast go up on it; These will not be found there But the redeemed will walk there,
  5. And the ransomed of the LORD will return And come with joyful shouting to Zion, With everlasting joy upon their heads They will find gladness and joy, And sorrow and sighing will flee away.
  1. 그 때에 다리를 절던 사람이 사슴처럼 뛰고, 말을 못하던 혀가 노래를 부를 것이다. 광야에서 물이 솟겠고, 사막에 시냇물이 흐를 것이다.
  2. 뜨겁게 타오르던 땅은 연못이 되고, 메마른 땅은 물이 쏟아져 나오는 샘이 될 것이다. 승냥이 떼가 뒹굴며 살던 곳에는, 풀 대신에 갈대와 왕골이 날 것이다.
  3. 거기에는 큰길이 생길 것이니, 그것을 '거룩한 길'이라고 부를 것이다. 깨끗하지 못한 자는 그리로 다닐 수 없다. 그 길은 오직 그리로 다닐 수 있는 사람들의 것이다. 악한 사람은 그 길로 다닐 수 없고, 어리석은 사람은 그 길에서 서성거리지도 못할 것이다.
  4. 거기에는 사자가 없고, 사나운 짐승도 그리로 지나다니지 않을 것이다. 그 길에는 그런 짐승들은 없을 것이다. 오직 구원받은 사람만이 그 길을 따라 고향으로 갈 것이다.
  5. 주님께 속량받은 사람들이 예루살렘으로 돌아올 것이다. 그들이 기뻐 노래하며 시온에 이를 것이다. 기쁨이 그들에게 영원히 머물고, 즐거움과 기쁨이 넘칠 것이니, 슬픔과 탄식이 사라질 것이다.
 
  랍사게의 조롱(36:1-36:22)    
 
  1. Now in the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and seized them.
  2. And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem to King Hezekiah with a large army And he stood by the conduit of the upper pool on the highway of the fuller's field.
  3. Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came out to him.
  4. Then Rabshakeh said to them, "Say now to Hezekiah, 'Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, "What is this confidence that you have?
  5. "I say, 'Your counsel and strength for the war are only empty words.' Now on whom do you rely, that you have rebelled against me?
  1. 히스기야 왕 제 십사년에, 앗시리아 왕 산헤립이 올라와서, 견고한 유다의 모든 성읍을 공격하여 점령하였다.
  2. 그래서 앗시리아 왕은 라기스에서 랍사게에게 많은 병력을 주어, 예루살렘의 히스기야 왕에게로 보냈다. 그는 빨래터로 가는 큰 길 가 윗저수지의 수로 옆에 주둔하였다.
  3. 그 때에, 힐기야의 아들 궁내대신 엘리야김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 역사 기록관 요아가, 그를 맞으러 나갔다.
  4. 랍사게가 그들에게 말하였다. "히스기야에게 전하여라. 위대한 왕이신 앗시리아의 임금님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. '네가 무엇을 믿고 이렇게 자신만만 하냐?
  5. 전쟁을 할 전술도 없고, 군사력도 없으면서, 입으로만 전쟁을 할 수 있다고 생각하느냐? 네가 지금 누구를 믿고 나에게 반역하느냐?
  1. "Behold, you rely on the staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him.
  2. "But if you say to me, 'We trust in the LORD our God,' is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, 'You shall worship before this altar'?
  3. "Now therefore, come make a bargain with my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able on your part to set riders on them.
  4. "How then can you repulse one official of the least of my master's servants and rely on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
  5. "Have I now come up without the LORD'S approval against this land to destroy it? The LORD said to me, 'Go up against this land and destroy it.'"'"
  1. 너는 부러진 갈대 지팡이 같은 이 이집트를 의지한다고 하지만, 그것을 믿고 붙드는 자는 손만 찔리게 될 것이다. 이집트 왕 바로를 신뢰하는 자는 누구나 이와 같이 될 것이다.
  2. 너는 또 나에게, 너희가 주 너희의 하나님을 의지한다고 말하겠지마는, 유다와 예루살렘에 사는 백성에게, 예루살렘에 있는 이 제단 앞에서만 경배하여야 한다고 하면서, 산당과 제단들을 다 헐어 버린 것이, 바로 너 히스기야가 아니냐!'
  3. 자, 이제 나의 상전이신 앗시리아의 임금님과 겨루어 보아라. 내가 너에게 말 이천 필을 준다고 한들, 네가 그 위에 탈 사람을 내놓을 수 있겠느냐?
  4. 네가 나의 상전의 부하들 가운데서 하찮은 병사 하나라도 물리칠 수 있겠느냐? 그러면서도, 병거와 기병의 지원을 얻으려고 이집트를 의존하느냐?
  5. 이제 생각하여 보아라. 내가 이 곳을 멸망시키려고 오면서, 어찌, 너희가 섬기는 주님의 허락도 받지 않고 왔겠느냐? 주님께서 친히 나에게 말씀하시기를, 이 땅을 치러 올라가서, 그 곳을 멸망시키라고 이르셨다."
  1. Then Eliakim and Shebna and Joah said to Rabshakeh, "Speak now to your servants in Aramaic, for we understand it; and do not speak with us in Judean in the hearing of the people who are on the wall."
  2. But Rabshakeh said, "Has my master sent me only to your master and to you to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, doomed to eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?"
  3. Then Rabshakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in Judean and said, "Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.
  4. "Thus says the king, 'Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you;
  5. nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, "The LORD will surely deliver us, this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria."
  1. 엘리야김과 셉나와 요아가 랍사게에게 말하였다. "성벽 위에서 백성이 듣고 있으니, 우리에게 유다 말로 말씀하지 말아 주십시오. 이 종들에게 시리아 말로 말씀하여 주십시오. 우리가 시리아 말을 알아듣습니다."
  2. 그러나 랍사게는 그들에게 대답하였다. "나의 상전께서 나를 보내셔서, 이 말을 하게 하신 것은, 다만 너희의 상전과 너희만 들으라고 하신 것이 아니다. 너희와 함께, 자기가 눈 대변을 먹고 자기가 본 소변을 마실, 성벽 위에 앉아 있는 저 백성에게도 이 말을 전하라고 나를 보내셨다."
  3. 랍사게가 일어나서, 유다 말로 크게 외쳤다. "너희는, 위대한 왕이신 앗시리아의 임금님께서 하시는 말씀을 들어라!
  4. 임금님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. '히스기야에게 속지 말아라. 그는 너희를 구원하여 낼 수 없다.
  5. 히스기야가 너희를 속여서, 주님께서 너희를 구원하실 것이며, 이 도성을 앗시리아 왕의 손에 절대로 넘겨 주지 않으실 것이라고 말하면서, 너희로 주님을 의지하게 하려 하여도, 너희는 그 말을 믿지 말아라.
  1. 'Do not listen to Hezekiah,' for thus says the king of Assyria, 'Make your peace with me and come out to me, and eat each of his vine and each of his fig tree and drink each of the waters of his own cistern,
  2. until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
  3. 'Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you, saying, "The LORD will deliver us." Has any one of the gods of the nations delivered his land from the hand of the king of Assyria?
  4. 'Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? And when have they delivered Samaria from my hand?
  5. 'Who among all the gods of these lands have delivered their land from my hand, that the LORD would deliver Jerusalem from my hand?'"
  1. 히스기야의 말을 듣지 말아라.' 앗시리아의 임금님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. '나와 평화조약을 맺고, 나에게로 나아오라. 그리하면, 너희는 각각 자기의 포도나무와 자기의 무화과나무에서 난 열매를 따먹게 될 것이며, 각기 자기가 판 샘에서 물을 마시게 될 것이다.
  2. 이제 곧 내가 가서, 너희의 땅과 같은 땅, 곧 곡식과 새 포도주가 나는 땅, 빵과 포도원이 있는 땅으로, 너희를 데려갈 터이니,
  3. 히스기야가 너희를 꾀어, 주님께서 틀림없이 너희를 구원하실 것이라고 말하더라도, 너희는 속지 말아라. 뭇 민족의 신들 가운데서, 그 어느 신이 앗시리아 왕의 손에서 자기 땅을 구원한 일이 있느냐?
  4. 하맛과 아르밧의 신들은 어디에 있으며, 스발와임의 신들은 또 어디에 있느냐? 그들이 사마리아를 나의 손에서 건져내었느냐?
  5. 여러 민족의 신들 가운데서 그 어느 신이 나의 손에서 자기 땅을 구원한 일이 있기에, 너희의 주 하나님이 나의 손에서 예루살렘을 구원할 수 있겠느냐?'"
  1. But they were silent and answered him not a word; for the king's commandment was, "Do not answer him."
  2. Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn and told him the words of Rabshakeh.
  1. 백성은 한 마디도 대답하지 않고 조용히 있었다. 그에게 아무런 대답도 하지 말라는 왕의 명령이 있었기 때문이다.
  2. 힐기야의 아들 궁내대신 엘리야김과 서기관 셉나와 아삽의 아들 역사 기록관 요아는, 울분을 참지 못하여, 옷을 찢으며 히스기야에게 돌아와서, 랍사게의 말을 그대로 전하였다.
 
  당아(塘鵝, 34:11)  야생 올빼미, 본문에서는 부정한 동물을 뜻함
