예레미야 23:33-25:38

 하나님께서는 하나님의 말씀을 조소하는 무리들에게 영원한 치욕과 수치가 임하게 될 것을 선포하셨다. 무화과 두 광주리의 비유를 통해, 선한 무화과에 비유된 자들은 바벨론에 포로로 잡혀 갔다가 귀환하게 되지만, 악한 무화과나무에 비유된 자들은 바벨론의 포로가 되는 데 항거하여 이방에 흩어져 멸망될 것임을 보여 주셨다. 또한 유다를 징벌하신 후 바벨론과 이방 열국을 진멸하실 것을 예고하셨다.
  
  거짓 선지자들의 심판(23:33-23:40)    
 
  1. "Now when this people or the prophet or a priest asks you saying, 'What is the oracle of the LORD?' then you shall say to them, 'What oracle?' The LORD declares, 'I will abandon you.'
  2. "Then as for the prophet or the priest or the people who say, 'The oracle of the LORD,' I will bring punishment upon that man and his household.
  3. "Thus will each of you say to his neighbor and to his brother, 'What has the LORD answered?' or, 'What has the LORD spoken?'
  4. "For you will no longer remember the oracle of the LORD, because every man's own word will become the oracle, and you have perverted the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.
  5. "Thus you will say to that prophet, 'What has the LORD answered you?' and, 'What has the LORD spoken?'
  1. "이 백성 가운데 어느 한 사람이나 예언자나 제사장이 너에게 와서 '부담이 되는 주님의 말씀'이 있느냐고 묻거든, 너는 그들에게 대답하여라. '부담이 되는 주님의 말씀'이라고 하였느냐? 나 주가 말한다. 너희가 바로 나에게 부담이 된다. 그래서 내가 이제 너희를 버리겠다 말하였다고 하여라.
  2. 또 '부담이 되는 주님의 말씀'이라는 말을 사용하는 예언자나 제사장이나 백성이 있으면, 내가 그 사람과 그 집안에 벌을 내리겠다고 하여라.
  3. 친구나 친척끼리 서로 말할 때에는 '부담이 되는 주님의 말씀'이라고 말하는 대신에 '주님께서 무엇이라고 대답을 하셨느냐?' '주님께서 무슨 말씀을 하셨느냐?' 하고 물어야 한다고 일러주어라.
  4. '부담이 되는 주님의 말씀'이라는 표현을 너희가 다시는 써서는 안 된다. 누구든지 그런 말을 쓰는 사람에게는 그 말이 그에게 정말 부담이 될 것이라고 하여라. '그렇게 말하는 것은 살아 계신 하나님, 우리의 하나님, 만군의 주의 말씀을 왜곡하는 것이기 때문'이라고 말하여라.
  5. 이제 예언자에게 물을 때에는 '주님께서 무엇이라고 대답을 하셨느냐? 주님께서 무슨 말씀을 하셨느냐?' 하고 물어라.
  1. "For if you say, 'The oracle of the LORD!' surely thus says the LORD, 'Because you said this word, "The oracle of the LORD!" I have also sent to you, saying, "You shall not say, 'The oracle of the LORD!'"'
  2. "Therefore behold, I will surely forget you and cast you away from My presence, along with the city which I gave you and your fathers.
  3. "I will put an everlasting reproach on you and an everlasting humiliation which will not be forgotten."
  1. 내가 사람을 보내서 '부담이 되는 주님의 말씀'이라는 말을 쓰지 말라고 했는데도 내 명령을 어기고 '부담이 되는 주님의 말씀'이라는 말을 써서 말한다면, 너는 그들에게 이르기를, 반드시
  2. 내가 그들을 뽑아서, 멀리 던져 버리겠다 하더라고 전하여라. 그들뿐만 아니라 그들과 그들의 조상에게 준 이 도성도 함께 뽑아서, 멀리 던져 버리겠다 하더라고 전하여라.
  3. 내가 이와 같이 하여, 그들이 잊을 수 없는 영원한 수치와 영원한 치욕들을 당하게 하겠다 말했다고 전하여라."
 
  무화과 두 광주리의 비유(24:1-24:10)    
 
  1. After Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the officials of Judah with the craftsmen and smiths from Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon, the LORD showed me: behold, two baskets of figs set before the temple of the LORD!
  2. One basket had very good figs, like first-ripe figs, and the other basket had very bad figs which could not be eaten due to rottenness.
  3. Then the LORD said to me, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" And I said, "Figs, the good figs, very good; and the bad figs, very bad, which cannot be eaten due to rottenness."
  4. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
  5. "Thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'Like these good figs, so I will regard as good the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans.
  1. 주님께서 나에게 이런 것을 보여 주셨다. 내가 보니, 주님의 성전 앞에 무화과 광주리 두 개가 놓여 있었다. 이것은 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살이 여호야김의 아들 유다 왕 여고냐와 유다의 고관들을 비롯하여 기술자들과 대장장이들을 함께 예루살렘에서 포로로 사로잡아 바빌로니아로 데려간 뒤에 있었던 일이다.
  2. 그런데 한 광주리에는 맏물 무화과처럼 아주 좋은 무화과가 담겨 있었고, 다른 한 광주리에는 너무 나빠서 먹을 수도 없는 아주 나쁜 무화과가 담겨 있었다.
  3. 그 때에 주님께서 나에게 물으셨다. "예레미야야, 네가 무엇을 보느냐?" 내가 대답하였다. "무화과입니다. 좋은 무화과는 아주 좋고, 나쁜 무화과는 아주 나빠서, 먹을 수가 없습니다."
  4. 그러자 주님께서 나에게 이렇게 일러주셨다.
  5. "나 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 내가 이 곳에서 바빌로니아 사람의 땅으로 내쫓은 유다의 포로들을 이 좋은 무화과처럼 잘 돌보아 주겠다.
  1. 'For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land; and I will build them up and not overthrow them, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.
  2. 'I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.
  3. 'But like the bad figs which cannot be eaten due to rottenness--indeed, thus says the LORD--so I will abandon Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials, and the remnant of Jerusalem who remain in this land and the ones who dwell in the land of Egypt.
  4. 'I will make them a terror and an evil for all the kingdoms of the earth, as a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse in all places where I will scatter them.
  5. 'I will send the sword, the famine and the pestilence upon them until they are destroyed from the land which I gave to them and their forefathers.'"
  1. 내가 그들을 지켜 보면서 잘 되게 하고, 다시 이 땅으로 데려오겠다. 내가 그들을 세우고 헐지 않겠으며, 내가 그들을 심고 뽑지 않겠다.
  2. 이제는 내가 그들에게 나를 그들의 주로 알아볼 수 있는 마음을 주겠다. 그러면 그들이 온전한 마음으로 나에게 돌아와서 나의 백성이 되고, 나는 그들의 하나님이 될 것이다.
  3. 그러나, 유다 왕 시드기야와 그의 대신들을 비롯하여, 예루살렘에 남은 사람들과 이 땅에 남은 사람들과 이집트 땅으로 간 사람들은, 아주 나빠서 먹을 수가 없는, 나쁜 무화과처럼 만들어 버리겠다. 나 주가 분명히 말한다.
  4. 내가 그들을 세계 만국으로 흩어 놓아, 혐오의 대상이 되게 하겠다. 그러면 내가 쫓아 보낸 그 모든 곳에서, 그들이 수치와 조롱을 당하고, 비웃음과 저주를 받게 될 것이다.
  5. 그리고 내가 그들과 그들의 조상에게 준 땅에서 그들이 멸절될 때까지, 나는 계속 그들에게 전쟁과 기근과 염병을 보내겠다."
 
  바벨론 포로와 열방의 심판(25:1-25:38)    
 
  1. The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon),
  2. which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
  3. "From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, these twenty-three years the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you again and again, but you have not listened.
  4. "And the LORD has sent to you all His servants the prophets again and again, but you have not listened nor inclined your ear to hear,
  5. saying, 'Turn now everyone from his evil way and from the evil of your deeds, and dwell on the land which the LORD has given to you and your forefathers forever and ever;
  1. 요시야의 아들 유다 왕 여호야김 제 사년 곧 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살 원년에, 예레미야는 온 유다 백성에게 일러줄 말씀을 받았다.
  2. 예언자 예레미야는 이 말씀을 온 유다 백성과 예루살렘 주민에게 전하였다.
  3. "아몬의 아들 요시야가 유다 왕이 되어, 십삼 년이 되던 해부터 오늘에 이르기까지, 이십삼 년 동안, 주님께서 나에게 계속하여 말씀하셨고, 나는 그것을 여러분에게 열심히 전하였으나, 여러분은 그 말을 전혀 듣지 않았습니다.
  4. 주님께서는 여러분에게 주님의 종 예언자들을 보내시되 꾸준히 보내셨으나, 여러분은 예언자의 말도 듣지 않았습니다. 여러분들은 들으려 하지도 않았고, 귀를 기울이지도 않았습니다.
  5. 주님께서는 예언자들을 시켜 여러분에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. '너희는 각기 자신의 악한 삶과 온갖 악행을 그치고 어서 돌아오너라. 그러면, 나 주가 너희와 너희 조상에게 준 땅에서 너희가 길이길이 살 것이다.
  1. and do not go after other gods to serve them and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I will do you no harm.'
  2. "Yet you have not listened to Me," declares the LORD, "in order that you might provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands to your own harm.
  3. "Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Because you have not obeyed My words,
  4. behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,' declares the LORD, 'and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them and make them a horror and a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.
  5. 'Moreover, I will take from them the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp.
  1. 또 너희는 다른 신들을 쫓아다니며 섬기거나 경배하지도 말고, 손으로 만든 우상을 섬겨서 나의 분노를 격발시키지도 말아라. 그러면, 나도 너희에게 재앙을 내리지 않겠다고 하였다.
  2. 그런데도 너희는 나 주의 말을 듣지 않았고, 오히려 손으로 만든 우상을 섬겨서, 나 주를 격노케 하였으며, 너희는 재앙을 당하고 말았다' 하셨습니다.
  3. 그래도 듣지 않으니, 이제 만군의 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '너희가 나의 말을 듣지 않았기 때문에,
  4. 내가 나의 종 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살을 시켜서 북녘의 모든 민족을 데려오겠다. 나 주의 말이다. 내가 이렇게 그들을 데려다가, 이 땅과 그 주민을 함께 치게 하며, 그 주위의 모든 민족을 치게 하겠다. 내가 그들을 완전히 진멸시켜, 영원히 놀라움과 빈정거림과 조롱거리가 되게 하고, 이 땅을 영원한 폐허 더미로 만들겠다.
  5. 내가 그들에게서 흥겨워하는 소리와 기뻐하는 소리, 즐거워하는 신랑 신부의 목소리, 맷돌질하는 소리, 등불 빛을 모두 사라지게 하겠다.
  1. 'This whole land will be a desolation and a horror, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
  2. 'Then it will be when seventy years are completed I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,' declares the LORD, 'for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it an everlasting desolation.
  3. 'I will bring upon that land all My words which I have pronounced against it, all that is written in this book which Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations.
  4. '(For many nations and great kings will make slaves of them, even them; and I will recompense them according to their deeds and according to the work of their hands.)'"
  5. For thus the LORD, the God of Israel, says to me, "Take this cup of the wine of wrath from My hand and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.
  1. 이 땅은 깡그리 끔찍한 폐허가 되고, 이 땅에 살던 민족은 칠십 년 동안 바빌로니아 왕을 섬길 것이다.
  2. 이렇게 칠십 년이란 기한이 다 차면, 내가 바빌로니아 왕과 그 민족과 바빌로니아 땅의 죄를 벌하며, 그 곳을 영원한 황무지로 만들어 버리겠다. 나 주의 말이다.
  3. 내가 그 땅을 치겠다고 한 나의 모든 약속을 실천할 터이니, 이는 뭇 민족이 받게 될 벌을 예레미야가 예언한 대로, 이 책에 모두 기록된 대로 성취하는 것이다.
  4. 참으로 이번에는 바빌로니아 사람들이 많은 강대국들과 대왕들을 섬길 것이다. 이와 같이 나는 바빌로니아 사람들이 직접 행하고 저지른 일을 그대로 갚아 주겠다.' 이렇게 주님께서 말씀하셨습니다."
  5. 주 이스라엘의 하나님께서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하신다. "너는 내 손에서 이 진노의 포도주 잔을 받아라. 내가 너를 뭇 민족에게 보낼 터이니, 그들 모두에게 그 잔을 마시게 하여라.
  1. "They will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them."
  2. Then I took the cup from the LORD'S hand and made all the nations to whom the LORD sent me drink it:
  3. Jerusalem and the cities of Judah and its kings and its princes, to make them a ruin, a horror, a hissing and a curse, as it is this day;
  4. Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes and all his people;
  5. and all the foreign people, all the kings of the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the Philistines (even Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron and the remnant of Ashdod);
  1. 그들은 모두 이 잔을 마신 다음에, 내가 일으킨 전쟁 때문에 비틀거리며 미칠 것이다."
  2. 그래서 내가 주님의 손에서 그 잔을 받아 가지고, 주님께서 나를 보내신 모든 민족에게 마시게 하였다.
  3. 우선 예루살렘과 유다 성읍의 주민으로부터 시작하여, 그 땅의 왕들과 고관들에게 마시게 하였다. 그래서, 그 땅이 오늘날과 같이 폐허가 되었고, 사람들의 놀라움과 빈정거림과 저주의 대상이 된 것이다.

  1. Edom, Moab and the sons of Ammon;
  2. and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon and the kings of the coastlands which are beyond the sea;
  3. and Dedan, Tema, Buz and all who cut the corners of their hair;
  4. and all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the foreign people who dwell in the desert;
  5. and all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam and all the kings of Media;
  1. 에돔과 모압과 암몬 백성과
  2. 두로의 모든 왕과, 시돈의 모든 왕과, 지중해 건너편 해안지방의 왕들과,
  3. 드단과 데마와 부스의 주민과, 관자놀이의 머리카락을 짧게 깎은 모든 족속과,
  4. 아라비아의 모든 왕과, 사막에 사는 여러 족속의 모든 왕과,
  5. 시므리의 모든 왕과, 엘람의 모든 왕과, 메대의 모든 왕과,
  1. and all the kings of the north, near and far, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the earth which are upon the face of the ground, and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
  2. "You shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Drink, be drunk, vomit, fall and rise no more because of the sword which I will send among you."'
  3. "And it will be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you will say to them, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "You shall surely drink!
  4. "For behold, I am beginning to work calamity in this city which is called by My name, and shall you be completely free from punishment? You will not be free from punishment; for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth," declares the LORD of hosts.'
  5. "Therefore you shall prophesy against them all these words, and you shall say to them, 'The LORD will roar from on high And utter His voice from His holy habitation; He will roar mightily against His fold. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, Against all the inhabitants of the earth.
  1. 북녘에 있는 원근 각처의 모든 왕에게 주어서, 차례로 마시게 하였다. 이렇게 내가 세상에 있는 모든 나라에 마시게 하였다. 마지막에는 세삭 왕이 마시게 될 것이다.
  2. "너는 이스라엘의 하나님 만군의 주가 하는 말이라고 하면서 이들 민족들에게 전하여라. '내가 너희 사이에 전쟁을 일으킬 것이니, 너희는 마시고, 취하고, 토하고, 쓰러져서 죽어라.'
  3. 그러나 그들이 네 손에서 그 잔을 받아 마시기를 거절하면, 너는 그들에게 이렇게 전하여라. '나 만군의 주가 말한다. 너희는 그 잔을 마시지 않을 수가 없을 것이다.
  4. 보이지 않느냐? 내가 내 이름으로 불리는 저 도성에서부터 재앙을 내리기 시작하였는데, 너희가 무사하게 넘어갈 수 있겠느냐? 너희는 절대로 무사하게 넘어가지 못한다. 이는 내가 온 세계에 전쟁을 일으켜서, 모든 주민을 칠 것이기 때문이다. 나 만군의 주가 하는 말이다.'
  5. 그러므로 너는 이 모든 말로 그들을 규탄하여 예언하여라. 너는 그들에게 이렇게 말하여라. '주님께서 저 높은 곳에서 고함 치신다. 그의 거룩한 처소 하늘 꼭대기에서 벽력 같은 목소리를 내신다. 그의 목장에다 대고 무섭게 고함 치신다. 포도를 밟는 자들처럼 이 땅의 모든 주민을 규탄하여 큰소리를 내신다.
  1. 'A clamor has come to the end of the earth, Because the LORD has a controversy with the nations He is entering into judgment with all flesh; As for the wicked, He has given them to the sword,' declares the LORD."
  2. Thus says the LORD of hosts, "Behold, evil is going forth From nation to nation, And a great storm is being stirred up From the remotest parts of the earth.
  3. "Those slain by the LORD on that day will be from one end of the earth to the other They will not be lamented, gathered or buried; they will be like dung on the face of the ground.
  4. "Wail, you shepherds, and cry; And wallow in ashes, you masters of the flock; For the days of your slaughter and your dispersions have come, And you will fall like a choice vessel.
  5. "Flight will perish from the shepherds, And escape from the masters of the flock.
  1. 주님께서 만민을 신문하실 것이니, 그 우렁찬 소리가 땅 끝에까지 퍼질 것이다. 모든 사람을 심판하실 것이니, 악인들을 칼로 쳐서 죽게 하실 것이다. 나 주의 말이다.'"
  2. "나 만군의 주가 말한다. 보아라, 재앙이 이 민족에서 저 민족에게로 퍼져 나가고, 땅의 사방 끝에서 큰 폭풍이 일 것이다.
  3. 그 날에는 땅 이 끝에서 저 끝에 이르기까지 나 주에게 죽임을 당한 시체들이 널려 있을 것이며, 그들이 죽었다고 하여 울어 줄 사람도 없고, 그들을 모아다가 묻어 줄 사람도 없어서, 마치 땅 위에 뒹구는 거름덩이처럼 될 것이다."
  4. "목자들아, 너희는 울부짖으며 통곡하여라. 양 떼의 인도자들아, 너희는 재 위에서 뒹굴어라. 너희가 살육을 당할 날이 다가왔다. 귀한 그릇이 떨어져 깨지듯이 너희가 부서질 것이다.
  5. 목자들은 도피처도 없으며, 양 떼의 인도자들은 도망할 곳도 없을 것이다."
  1. "Hear the sound of the cry of the shepherds, And the wailing of the masters of the flock! For the LORD is destroying their pasture,
  2. "And the peaceful folds are made silent Because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
  3. "He has left His hiding place like the lion; For their land has become a horror Because of the fierceness of the oppressing sword And because of His fierce anger."
  1. 목자들이 울부짖는 소리와 양 떼의 인도자들이 통곡하는 소리를 들어 보아라. 주님께서 그들의 목장을 파괴하셨기 때문이다.
  2. 주님께서 맹렬히 진노하시니, 평화롭던 초장들이 황무지가 되었다.
  3. 사자가 굴을 버리고 떠나가듯이, 주님께서 떠나가셨다. 압박하는 자의 칼과 주님의 분노 때문에 그 땅이 폐허가 되었다.
 
  세삭( 25:26)  ‘바벨론’을 지칭하는 암호적인 이름. 심판이란 의미가 담겨 있음  
  염습(殮襲, 25:33)  죽은 사람의 몸을 씻고 옷을 입히는 일
