예레미야 28:1-29:32

 예레미야의 목에 얹은 나무 멍에를 꺾어 버린 거짓 선지자 하나냐는 하나님의 징계를 받아 죽었고, 유다는 쇠 멍에를 얹게 되었다. 예레미야는 바벨론에 잡혀 간 유다 백성들에게 편지를 보내어 귀환할 때까지 그 곳에서 평안히 거할 것을 당부했으며, 거짓 선지자들에게 현혹되지 말 것을 경고하였다. 이에 스마야는 예레미야를 처벌하도록 본국에 요청하였지만 야웨께서는 스마야를 징벌하시겠다고 선언하셨다.
  
  거짓 선지자 하나냐(28:1-28:17)    
 
  1. Now in the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and all the people, saying,
  2. "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.
  3. 'Within two years I am going to bring back to this place all the vessels of the LORD'S house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.
  4. 'I am also going to bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles of Judah who went to Babylon,' declares the LORD, 'for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'"
  5. Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people who were standing in the house of the LORD,
  1. 같은 해, 곧 시드기야가 유다 왕이 되어 다스리기 시작한 지 사 년째가 되던 해 다섯째 달에 일어난 일이다. 기브온 사람 앗술의 아들 하나냐라는 예언자가 있었는데, 그가 주님의 성전에서 제사장들과 온 백성이 보는 앞에서 나에게 이렇게 말하였다.
  2. "나 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 내가 바빌로니아 왕의 멍에를 꺾어 버렸다.
  3. 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살이 이 곳에서 탈취하여 바빌로니아로 가져 간 주의 성전의 모든 기구를, 내가 친히 이 년 안에 이 곳으로 다시 가져 오겠다.
  4. 또 유다 왕 여호야김의 아들 여고냐와 바빌로니아로 잡혀 간 유다의 모든 포로도 내가 이 곳으로 다시 데려오겠다. 나 주의 말이다. 내가 반드시 바빌로니아 왕의 멍에를 꺾어 버리겠다."
  5. 그러자 예언자 예레미야가 주님의 성전에 서 있는 제사장들과 온 백성이 보는 앞에서, 예언자 하나냐에게 대답하였다.
  1. and the prophet Jeremiah said, "Amen! May the LORD do so; may the LORD confirm your words which you have prophesied to bring back the vessels of the LORD'S house and all the exiles, from Babylon to this place.
  2. "Yet hear now this word which I am about to speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people!
  3. "The prophets who were before me and before you from ancient times prophesied against many lands and against great kingdoms, of war and of calamity and of pestilence.
  4. "The prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, then that prophet will be known as one whom the LORD has truly sent."
  5. Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.
  1. 그 때에 예언자 예레미야는 이렇게 말하였다. "아멘. 주님께서 그렇게만 하여 주신다면, 오죽이나 좋겠소? 당신이 예언한 말을 주님께서 성취해 주셔서, 주님의 성전 기구와 모든 포로가 바빌로니아에서 이 곳으로 되돌아 올 수 있기를, 나도 바라오.
  2. 그러나 당신은 이제 내가 당신의 귀와 온 백성의 귀에 이르는 이 말을 들으시오.
  3. 옛날부터 우리의 선배 예언자들은 많은 나라와 큰 왕국에 전쟁과 기근과 염병이 닥칠 것을 예언하였소.
  4. 평화를 예언하는 예언자는, 그가 예언한 말이 성취된 뒤에야, 비로소 사람들이 그를 주님께서 보내신 참 예언자로 인정하게 될 것이오."
  5. 예언자 하나냐가 예언자 예레미야의 목에서 나무 멍에를 빼앗아 꺾어 버렸다.
  1. Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, "Thus says the LORD, 'Even so will I break within two full years the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations.'" Then the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
  2. The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
  3. "Go and speak to Hananiah, saying, 'Thus says the LORD, "You have broken the yokes of wood, but you have made instead of them yokes of iron."
  4. 'For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they will serve him And I have also given him the beasts of the field."'"
  5. Then Jeremiah the prophet said to Hananiah the prophet, "Listen now, Hananiah, the LORD has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie.
  1. 그리고 하나냐는 온 백성이 보는 앞에서 이렇게 말하였다. "나 주가 말한다. 내가 이 년 안에 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살의 멍에를 모든 민족의 목에서 벗겨서 이와 같이 꺾어 버리겠다." 예언자 예레미야는 그 자리를 떠났다.
  2. 예언자 하나냐가 예언자 예레미야의 목에서 나무 멍에를 빼앗아 꺾어 버린 뒤에, 주님께서 예레미야에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  3. "너는 가서 하나냐에게 이렇게 전하여라. '나 주가 말한다. 너는 나무로 만든 멍에를 꺾어 버렸으나, 오히려 그 대신에 쇠로 멍에를 만들고 말았다.
  4. 진실로 나 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 내가 이 모든 민족의 목에 쇠로 만든 멍에를 메워 놓고, 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살을 섬기게 하였으니, 그들이 그를 섬길 수밖에 없다. 나는 심지어 들짐승도 그에게 넘겨 주었다.'"
  5. 예언자 예레미야는 예언자 하나냐에게 말하였다. "하나냐는 똑똑히 들으시오. 주님께서는 당신을 예언자로 보내지 않으셨는데도, 당신은 이 백성에게 거짓을 믿도록 하였소.
  1. "Therefore thus says the LORD, 'Behold, I am about to remove you from the face of the earth This year you are going to die, because you have counseled rebellion against the LORD.'"
  2. So Hananiah the prophet died in the same year in the seventh month.
  1. 그러므로 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하셨소. '내가 너를 이 지면에서 영영 없애 버릴 것이니, 금년에 네가 죽을 것이다. 네가 나 주를 거역하는 말을 하였기 때문이다.'"
  2. 예언자 하나냐가 바로 그 해 일곱째 달에 죽었다.
 
  포로된 백성에게 보낸 편지(29:1-29:23)    
 
  1. Now these are the words of the letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the rest of the elders of the exile, the priests, the prophets and all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.
  2. (This was after King Jeconiah and the queen mother, the court officials, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen and the smiths had departed from Jerusalem.)
  3. The letter was sent by the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, saying,
  4. "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the exiles whom I have sent into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon,
  5. 'Build houses and live in them; and plant gardens and eat their produce.
  1. 이것은 예언자 예레미야가 예루살렘에서 보낸 편지로서, 포로로 잡혀 간 장로들 가운데서 살아 남은 사람들을 비롯하여, 느부갓네살이 예루살렘에서 바빌로니아로 잡아간 제사장들과 예언자들과 온 백성에게 보낸 것이다.
  2. 이 때는 여고냐 왕과 그의 어머니와 내시들과 유다와 예루살렘의 고관들과 기술자들과 대장장이들이 예루살렘에서 떠난 뒤이다.
  3. 이 편지는, 유다 왕 시드기야가 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살에게 보낸 사반의 아들 엘리사와 힐기야의 아들 그마랴를 시켜 바빌로니아로 전달하였다. 다음은 편지의 내용이다.
  4. "나 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 내가 예루살렘에서 바빌로니아로 잡혀 가게 한 모든 포로에게 말한다.
  5. 너희는 그 곳에 집을 짓고 정착하여라. 과수원도 만들고 그 열매도 따 먹어라.
  1. 'Take wives and become the fathers of sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there and do not decrease.
  2. 'Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare.'
  3. "For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Do not let your prophets who are in your midst and your diviners deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams which they dream.
  4. 'For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them,' declares the LORD.
  5. "For thus says the LORD, 'When seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you, to bring you back to this place.
  1. 너희는 장가를 들어서 아들딸을 낳고, 너희 아들들도 장가를 보내고 너희 딸들도 시집을 보내어, 그들도 아들딸을 낳도록 하여라. 너희가 그 곳에서 번성하여, 줄어들지 않게 하여라.
  2. 또 너희는, 내가 사로잡혀 가게 한 그 성읍이 평안을 누리도록 노력하고, 그 성읍이 번영하도록 나 주에게 기도하여라. 그 성읍이 평안해야, 너희도 평안할 것이기 때문이다.
  3. 나 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 분명히 말한다. 너희는 지금 너희 가운데 있는 예언자들에게 속지 말고, 점쟁이들에게도 속지 말고, 꿈쟁이들의 꿈 이야기도 곧이듣지 말아라.
  4. 그들은 단지 나의 이름을 팔아서 너희에게 거짓 예언을 하고 있을 뿐이다. 그들은 내가 보낸 자들이 아니다. 나 주의 말이다.
  5. 나 주가 분명히 말한다. 너희가 바빌로니아에서 칠십 년을 다 채우고 나면, 내가 너희를 돌아보아, 너희를 이 곳으로 다시 데리고 오기로 한 나의 은혜로운 약속을 너희에게 그대로 이루어 주겠다.
  1. 'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
  2. 'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
  3. 'You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
  4. 'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.'
  5. "Because you have said, 'The LORD has raised up prophets for us in Babylon'--
  1. 너희를 두고 계획하고 있는 일들은 오직 나만이 알고 있다. 내가 너희를 두고 계획하고 있는 일들은 재앙이 아니라 번영이다. 너희에게 미래에 대한 희망을 주려는 것이다. 나 주의 말이다.
  2. 너희가 나를 부르고, 나에게 와서 기도하면, 내가 너희의 호소를 들어주겠다.
  3. 너희가 나를 찾으면, 나를 만날 것이다. 너희가 온전한 마음으로 나를 찾기만 하면,
  4. 내가 너희를 만나 주겠다. 나 주의 말이다. 내가 너희를 포로생활에서 돌아오게 하겠다. 내가 너희를 쫓아 보냈던 세상의 모든 나라, 모든 지역에서 너희를 모아 오겠다. 내가 너희를 포로로 보냈으나, 나는 너희를 그 곳에서 너희의 고향으로 다시 데려오겠다. 나 주의 말이다.
  5. 너희는 '주님께서는 바빌로니아에서도 우리에게 예언자들을 보내 주시지 않았느냐?' 하고 말한다.
  1. for thus says the LORD concerning the king who sits on the throne of David, and concerning all the people who dwell in this city, your brothers who did not go with you into exile--
  2. thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Behold, I am sending upon them the sword, famine and pestilence, and I will make them like split-open figs that cannot be eaten due to rottenness.
  3. 'I will pursue them with the sword, with famine and with pestilence; and I will make them a terror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse and a horror and a hissing, and a reproach among all the nations where I have driven them,
  4. because they have not listened to My words,' declares the LORD, 'which I sent to them again and again by My servants the prophets; but you did not listen,' declares the LORD.
  5. "You, therefore, hear the word of the LORD, all you exiles, whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.
  1. 그렇기 때문에 나 주가 지금 다윗의 보좌에 앉아 있는 왕에게, 그리고 지금 이 도성에 살고 있는 모든 백성, 곧 너희와 함께 포로로 잡혀 가지 않은 너희의 친척에게 말한다.
  2. 나 만군의 주가 말한다. 내가 그들에게 전쟁과 기근과 염병을 보내어, 그들을 아무도 먹을 수 없는 썩은 무화과처럼 만들겠다.
  3. 내가 칼과 기근과 염병으로 그들을 뒤쫓아가서 칠 것이니, 세상의 모든 나라들이 이것을 보고 놀라게 하고, 그들은 나에게 쫓겨가서 사는 모든 민족들 사이에서, 저주와 놀라움과 조롱과 조소거리가 되게 하겠다.
  4. 나 주의 말이다. 이것은, 내가 그들에게 나의 종 예언자들을 서둘러서 보내어 나의 말을 전하였으나, 그들이 나의 말을 듣지 않아서 내리는 벌이다. 그들이 듣지 않았기 때문이다. 나 주의 말이다.
  5. 그러므로 내가 예루살렘에서 바빌로니아로 쫓아 보낸 너희 포로들아, 이제 너희는 모두 나 주의 말을 들어라.
  1. "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you falsely in My name, 'Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will slay them before your eyes.
  2. 'Because of them a curse will be used by all the exiles from Judah who are in Babylon, saying, "May the LORD make you like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire,
  3. because they have acted foolishly in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives and have spoken words in My name falsely, which I did not command them; and I am He who knows and am a witness," declares the LORD.'"
  1. 나 만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 지금 나의 이름을 팔아 너희에게 거짓 예언을 하고 있는 골라야의 아들 아합과, 마아세야의 아들 시드기야를 두고 말한다. 내가 그들을 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 넘겨 주어, 너희가 보는 앞에서 그 왕이 그들을 죽이도록 하겠다.
  2. 그리고 그들 때문에, 바빌로니아에 사는 모든 유다의 포로 사이에서는 '너도 주님께 형벌을 받아, 시드기야와 아합처럼 바빌로니아 왕에게 화형이나 당해라' 하는 저주가 생길 것이다.
  3. 이것은, 그들이 이스라엘 사람으로서 절대로 해서는 안 될 망측한 일을 하였기 때문이다. 그들은 자기 이웃의 아내들과 간음하였고, 나의 이름을 팔아, 내가 시키지도 않은 거짓말을 하였다. 이것을 내가 안다. 내가 바로 그 증인이다. 나 주의 말이다."
 
  스마야의 편지(29:24-29:32)    
 
  1. To Shemaiah the Nehelamite you shall speak, saying,
  2. "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, 'Because you have sent letters in your own name to all the people who are in Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
  3. "The LORD has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, to be the overseer in the house of the LORD over every madman who prophesies, to put him in the stocks and in the iron collar,
  4. now then, why have you not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth who prophesies to you?
  5. "For he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, 'The exile will be long; build houses and live in them and plant gardens and eat their produce.'"'"
  1. 만군의 주 이스라엘의 하나님께서 느헬람 사람 스마야에게 전하라고 하시면서 나에게 말씀하셨다. 스마야는 이미 자기의 이름으로 예루살렘에 있는 모든 백성과 마아세야의 아들 스바냐 제사장과 모든 제사장에게 편지를 보냈었다. 스바냐에게 보낸 편지의 내용은 다음과 같다.
  3. "스바냐 제사장님, 주님께서 여호야다 제사장을 대신하여 제사장님을 주님의 성전 감독관으로 세우셨을 때에는, 제사장님께서 예언자 행세를 하는 미친 자들을 다 붙잡아 차꼬를 채우거나, 목에 칼을 씌우는 일을 맡기시려고 그렇게 하셨습니다.
  4. 그런데 지금 제사장님께서는 어찌하여, 아나돗 사람 예레미야가 여러 사람 앞에서 예언자처럼 행세하는 것을 책망하지 않았습니까?
  5. 그는 바빌로니아에 있는 우리에게 아직 때가 멀었다고 하면서, 이 곳에서 정착할 집도 짓고, 과일을 따 먹을 수 있도록 과수원도 만들라는 전갈까지 보내 왔습니다."
  1. Zephaniah the priest read this letter to Jeremiah the prophet.
  2. Then came the word of the LORD to Jeremiah, saying,
  3. "Send to all the exiles, saying, 'Thus says the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite, "Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, although I did not send him, and he has made you trust in a lie,"
  4. therefore thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am about to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants; he will not have anyone living among this people, and he will not see the good that I am about to do to My people," declares the LORD, "because he has preached rebellion against the LORD."'"
  1. 스바냐 제사장은 이 편지를 나 예언자 예레미야에게 읽어 주었다.
  2. 그 때에 주님께서는 스마야에 관한 다음과 같은 예언을 바빌론에 있는 모든 포로에게 보내라고 나에게 말씀하셨다. "나 주가 느헬람 사람 스마야와 그의 자손에게 벌을 내리겠다. 나는 그를 예언자로 보내지 않았는데, 그는 마치 자기가 예언자라도 되기나 한 것처럼 예언하였고, 너희에게 그 거짓 예언을 믿게 하였다. 그러므로 나 주가 말한다. 스마야가 그들에게 나 주를 거역하게 하는 말을 하였으니, 그는 자손을 보지 못할 것이다. 이 백성과 함께 어울려 살 자손이 없을 것이다. 또 내가 지금 내 백성에게 베풀 복을 마련하고 있지만 그의 자손 가운데는 그 복을 누릴 사람이 없을 것이다. 나 주의 말이다."
