- 훈계받기를 좋아하는 사람은 지식을 사랑하지만, 책망받기를 싫어하는 사람은 짐승같이 우둔하다.
- 선한 사람은 주님으로부터 은총을 받지만, 악을 꾀하는 사람은 정죄를 받는다.
- 사람은 악행으로 터를 굳게 세울 수 없지만, 의인의 뿌리는 흔들리지 않는다.
- 어진 아내는 남편의 면류관이지만, 욕을 끼치는 아내는 남편의 뼛속을 썩게 한다.
- 의인의 생각은 곧지만, 악인의 궁리는 속임수뿐이다.
