- 처음부터 빨리 모은 재산은 행복하게 끝을 맺지 못한다.
- "악을 갚겠다" 하지 말아라. 주님을 기다리면, 그분이 너를 구원하신다.
- 규격에 맞지 않은 저울추는 주님께서 미워하신다. 속이는 저울은 나쁜 것이다.
- 사람의 발걸음은 주님으로 말미암은 것이니 사람이 어찌 자기의 길을 알 수 있겠느냐!
- 경솔하게 "이것은 거룩하다" 하여 함부로 서원하여 놓고, 나중에 생각이 달라지는 것은, 사람이 걸리기 쉬운 올가미이다.

- 인자와 진리가 왕을 지켜 주고, 정의가 그의 보좌를 튼튼하게 한다.
- 젊은이의 자랑은 힘이요, 노인의 영광은 백발이다.
- 상처가 나도록 때려야 악이 없어진다. 매는 사람의 속 깊은 곳까지 들어간다.
