  1. And immediately after they came out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
  2. Now Simon's mother-in-law was lying sick with a fever; and immediately they spoke to Jesus about her.
  3. And He came to her and raised her up, taking her by the hand, and the fever left her, and she waited on them.
  4. When evening came, after the sun had set, they began bringing to Him all who were ill and those who were demon-possessed.
  5. And the whole city had gathered at the door.
  1. As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew.
  2. Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her.
  3. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.
  4. That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed.
  5. The whole town gathered at the door,
  1. And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
  2. In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.
  3. Simon and his companions searched for Him;
  4. they found Him, and said to Him, "Everyone is looking for You."
  5. He said to them, "Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for."
  1. and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.
  2. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
  3. Simon and his companions went to look for him,
  4. and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!"
  5. Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else--to the nearby villages--so I can preach there also. That is why I have come."
  1. And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons.
  2. And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."
  3. Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed."
  4. Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
  5. And He sternly warned him and immediately sent him away,
  1. So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
  2. A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean."
  3. Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"
  4. Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.
  5. Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning:
  1. and He said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
  2. But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the news around, to such an extent that Jesus could no longer publicly enter a city, but stayed out in unpopulated areas; and they were coming to Him from everywhere.
  1. "See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."
  2. Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.

  1. When He had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that He was at home.
  2. And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and He was speaking the word to them.
  3. And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men.
  4. Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying.
  5. And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
  1. A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home.
  2. So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.
  3. Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.
  4. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on.
  5. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
  1. But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,
  2. "Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?"
  3. Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were reasoning that way within themselves, said to them, "Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts?
  4. "Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven'; or to say, 'Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk'?
  5. "But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"--He said to the paralytic,
  1. Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves,
  2. "Why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
  3. Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, "Why are you thinking these things?
  4. Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take your mat and walk'?
  5. But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . ." He said to the paralytic,
  1. "I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet and go home."
  2. And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and were glorifying God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this."
  1. "I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home."
  2. He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"
