  ÀÌ´Ü °æ°è(1:1-1:25)

  1. Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:
  2. May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.
  3. Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints.
  4. For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
  5. Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.
  1. Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James, To those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ:
  2. Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.
  3. Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
  4. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
  5. Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
  1. And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,
  2. just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
  3. Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties.
  4. But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
  5. But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.
  1. And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.
  2. In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
  3. In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.
  4. But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
  5. Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals--these are the very things that destroy them.
  1. Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
  2. These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;
  3. wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.
  4. It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones,
  5. to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
  1. Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion.
  2. These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm--shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted--twice dead.
  3. They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.
  4. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones
  5. to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him."
  1. These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.
  2. But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,
  3. that they were saying to you, "In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts."
  4. These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.
  5. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
  1. These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.
  2. But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.
  3. They said to you, "In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires."
  4. These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
  5. But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.
  1. keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
  2. And have mercy on some, who are doubting;
  3. save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh.
  4. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,
  5. to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
  1. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
  2. Be merciful to those who doubt;
  3. snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
  4. To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--
  5. to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
