  1. They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,
  2. saying, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles.
  3. "They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again."
  4. James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, came up to Jesus, saying, "Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You."
  5. And He said to them, "What do you want Me to do for you?"
  1. And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
  2. Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
  3. And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
  4. And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
  5. And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
  1. They said to Him, "Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory."
  2. But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?"
  3. They said to Him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink you shall drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized.
  4. "But to sit on My right or on My left, this is not Mine to give; but it is for those for whom it has been prepared."
  5. Hearing this, the ten began to feel indignant with James and John.
  1. They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
  2. But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
  3. And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
  4. But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
  5. And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
  1. Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, "You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them.
  2. "But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant;
  3. and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.
  4. "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
  1. But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
  2. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
  3. And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
  4. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

  1. Then they came to Jericho And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.
  2. When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
  3. Many were sternly telling him to be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
  4. And Jesus stopped and said, "Call him here." So they called the blind man, saying to him, "Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you."
  5. Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus.
  1. And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
  2. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
  3. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
  4. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
  5. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
  1. And answering him, Jesus said, "What do you want Me to do for you?" And the blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!"
  2. And Jesus said to him, "Go; your faith has made you well." Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him on the road.
  1. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
  2. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
