  1. And He also spoke a parable to them: "A blind man cannot guide a blind man, can he? Will they not both fall into a pit?
  2. "A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.
  3. "Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
  4. "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.
  5. "For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.
  1. And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
  2. The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
  3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
  4. Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
  5. For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
  1. "For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush.
  2. "The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.
  3. "Why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?
  4. "Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like:
  5. he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.
  1. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
  2. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
  3. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
  4. Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
  5. He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
  1. "But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great."
  1. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

  1. When He had completed all His discourse in the hearing of the people, He went to Capernaum.
  2. And a centurion's slave, who was highly regarded by him, was sick and about to die.
  3. When he heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders asking Him to come and save the life of his slave.
  4. When they came to Jesus, they earnestly implored Him, saying, "He is worthy for You to grant this to him;
  5. for he loves our nation and it was he who built us our synagogue."
  1. Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
  2. And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
  3. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
  4. And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
  5. For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
  1. Now Jesus started on His way with them; and when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to come under my roof;
  2. for this reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
  3. "For I also am a man placed under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes, and to another, 'Come!' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it."
  4. Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and turned and said to the crowd that was following Him, "I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith."
  5. When those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.
  1. Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
  2. Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
  3. For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
  4. When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
  5. And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
