  1. After He had said these things, He was going on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
  2. When He approached Bethphage and Bethany, near the mount that is called Olivet, He sent two of the disciples,
  3. saying, "Go into the village ahead of you; there, as you enter, you will find a colt tied on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here.
  4. "If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' you shall say, 'The Lord has need of it.'"
  5. So those who were sent went away and found it just as He had told them.
  1. And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
  2. And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
  3. Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
  4. And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
  5. And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
  1. As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?"
  2. They said, "The Lord has need of it."
  3. They brought it to Jesus, and they threw their coats on the colt and put Jesus on it.
  4. As He was going, they were spreading their coats on the road.
  5. As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,
  1. And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
  2. And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
  3. And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
  4. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.
  5. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
  1. shouting: "BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"
  2. Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples."
  3. But Jesus answered, "I tell you, if these become silent, the stones will cry out!"
  4. When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it,
  5. saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.
  1. Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
  2. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
  3. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
  4. And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
  5. Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
  1. "For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,
  2. and they will level you to the ground and your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation."
  3. Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling,
  4. saying to them, "It is written, 'AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,' but you have made it a ROBBERS' DEN."
  5. And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,
  1. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
  2. And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
  3. And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
  4. Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
  5. And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
  1. and they could not find anything that they might do, for all the people were hanging on to every word He said.
  1. And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.
