  1. Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
  2. But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.
  3. The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,
  4. with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
  5. and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
  1. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
  2. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
  3. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
  4. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
  5. And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

  1. But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
  2. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
  3. unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
  4. treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
  5. holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.
  1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
  2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
  3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
  4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
  5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
  1. For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,
  2. always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  3. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith.
  4. But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes's and Jambres's folly was also.
  5. Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance,
  1. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
  2. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  3. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
  4. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
  5. But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
  1. persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!
  2. Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
  3. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
  4. You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them,
  5. and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
  1. Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
  2. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
  3. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
  4. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
  5. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
  1. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
  2. so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
  1. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
  2. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
